Gradient panel has nothing in it!
At my job, I am on a Mac using OSX 10.4.11. We are using CS3. Some time ago (several months) I found that two things no longer worked for me in InDesign, which I use all the time. (I have been a print graphic designer for 30 years.... 22 of those using a Mac.... using InDesign since its initial beta issue)
I can no longer make a gradient. When I open that panel, there is NOTHING on it. The only option in the pull down menu at the top right of the panel is "Hide Options" and even that is grayed out. What happened to it? (see screen shot below)
The other thing that does not work anymore is the spell-check function. When I try to use it, it does nothing. Even if I type incorrect spelling intentionally... I click the button to start and it does nothing. Finds nothing.
Anyone know what's going on with these two issues?

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

CS 6 Gradient Panel stopped functioning
CS 6 iMac Late 2013
The Gradient Panel seems to have a bug on my iMac but works fine on my MacBook Air. Make a thing and give it a fill of the black to white gradient. As soon as I click on the black (right) stop & move it, the whole gradient line disappears as well as the stops, colors, mid points. I can add stops but If I try to edit the stops in any way the disappearing thing happens. If I double click on a stop the resulting palette comes up without any color options.
It's really flakey.
I've tried making a new file, deleting preference folder, restarting Illustrator, restarting computer & seeing if the issue was on my laptop (it isn't, works fine). So, my question is has anyone else encountered this and if a real fix is possible? I was hoping to get more than three years out of this version.Myklsan,
Have you updated to Yosemite?
If so, did you reinstall the applications, which is the right way/order to do it.
In some rare cases (in the past at least), deleting the preference folder has proved insufficient, and a move was necessary, see 4) in the list below.
You may consider a full three step uninstallation as in 6):
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Paragraph Styles panel has gone blank
Hi there,
I am using InDesign CS3 on Windows, and encountered the following problem:
All of a sudden, the Paragraph Styles panel has gone completely blank (meaning grey), like it has nothing in it. Restart doesn't help. It seems like some sort of a bug. Did any one else had this happening? How to solve this?

Gradient panel not working properly
Image is selected but gradient panel does not show colors of image. Gradient controls cannot be adjusted even on existing gradients.
All color settings are at zero . Changing setting to a value has no effect. This happened suddenly. I had previously been using gradients without problems.Am 20.11.2012 um 18:41 schrieb Xoph:

Is the object part of a live paint group?
Then it would be normal.

when i connect my iphone to my laptop and open itunes it shows my iphone has nothing on it(no music, no movies, etc...) then when i try to sync it says iphone is is full and can only put in a selected amount of songs. Take in mind this is my first time to sync with this laptop(HP 15 ENVY) and as well my laptop is just brand new. just got it a week ago. so how do i fix this prob. and also when i open my itunes store and then view my account it says error occurred either debug it through Microsoft visual studio or close program. I tired copying all the .dll files to the itunes folder didn't help
I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. My computer's hardrive went bad an I had to get a new one. Now my computer has nothing on it and I had to reinstall itunes and i have no music or anything. So now I cannot sync my ipod or anything. Is there anything i can do to get all of my stuff back?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.

i am trying to download a movie onto my brand new ipod that has nothing on it. it is a 8gb ipod and the movie is 3.4 gb. halfway through it tells me there is no more space to download the movie. how do i fix this?

The USB cord needed to transfer photos from my iPhone 5 to Windows XP has nothing to do with the charging cord which appears to have an USB 'end', but apparantly is not, as it will not fit into any USB port on my PC?
An iPhone 5 comes with a single cable. It is a USB to Lightning connector cable that is used for charging, for syncing, and for transferring photos from the Camera Roll to your computer. There is no separate cable for charging.

I put something in the search bar such as "making centerpieces for baby shower" or I put it into google. Then a bunch of matches come up, I click on one that looks good, but immediately it goes to "re-direct" and a web site comes up that has nothing at all to do with the search like an auto shop or something.
I would need more details for this, as you have mentioned rulers move ? Are you referring to rulers on page in design ?
You can move a guide lower down the page , ruler marks will be displayed on ruler but that will not stop you moving the guides.
What happens if you uncheck rulers from top view options ?

I am trying to sync my iphone 4s to my windowns Itunes account. When i try to do it, the sync wants to remove all of the content on my phone and replace it with what is on my laptop, which has nothing yet. I am trying to move all of my purchased and uploaded content from my phone to the computer, but don't see the setting to do that.
