Gradients are messed up...?

Weird problem here, haven't really noticed before, but now it became very apparent in a certain case. Switched from InDesign CS2 on Windows to CS3 on Mac a couple of months back, and still have some things to learn :)
Anyway, to get back to the problem; I'm printing a circle with a radial gradient. Gradient goes from 50,0,100,0 (greenish) in the center to white at the edges. Same thing occurs regardless of method, I've even tried making a PSD file, and it still creates a gradient that goes very abruptly to white at the edge of the circle, with waaay too much cyan mixed in, it seems.
To get to the bottom of it, I even created raster circles of the cyan and yellow plates in black and white in Photoshop, got them back into InDesign and set them as cyan and yellow respectively and threw a Multiply on the topmost object. Printed fine, although the rasterization was very apparent.
Also tried it with grayscale instead of rasterized bitmaps, and it went straight back to the "default" InDesign mishandled gradient. Same as if I had done it within InDesign.
Having ruled out the printer (restarting, checking materials and such), I decided to go back to CS2 and try it in InDesign CS2 on Windows. Did the same thing, gradient circle from green (50,0,100,0) to white, and printed it. Looked as it was supposed to, or at least a LOT better than the same circle in CS3.
Ok, what next? I tried exporting the InDesign document as a PDF (Acrobat 1.7, no compression or anything), and tried printing that; Looked like it should. Starting to be annoying now, since I now can't use InDesign to print the job.
To summarize:
* InDesign CS2 (Windows), gradient printed more or less correct.
* InDesign CS3 (Mac), any method of creating mentioned gradient yields incorrect result when printed. Only using rasterized black and white bitmaps mapped to cyan and yellow yielded a decent result.
* Acrobat 8 (Mac), works correctly based on a PDF created from InDesign CS3 (Mac).
So, basically, what is going wrong here? Printing the original document from InDesign is no good, exporting it as a PDF and printing through Acrobat 8 works as intended... What gives? Anything I can try to change to remedy this problem? I would like to not have to go through Acrobat if I can help it.

Ok, sorry about not providing more information.
Printing is done via a Windows-based print server, to which a HP Color Laserjet 9500 is connected. This is of course a postscript printer, and it CAN produce the results we want/need, so the printer in itself is not the problem, nor does the printing system seem to be (neither the Windows print server nor the Mac printing subsystem).
Either way, as I said, the same _content_ if you will, prints correctly when exported to a PDF, but it does not print correctly in InDesign CS3, from where the PDF document was created from. Also, doing the same gradient in CS2 on Windows, printing to the very same printer, works correctly (more or less, it is not _identical_ to the PDF output).
The reason as to why I can't, or don't want to, print the document from Acrobat is that due to a problem with the printer driver in Swedish, I can't store the print job locally on the printer and print it from there in Acrobat. With InDesign, I can store the print job on the printer for printing now and in the future, any number of copies I want/need. Also, printing 50 copies from Acrobat seems to print just that, 50 copies, instead of 1 copy and telling the printer to print it 50 times...
