Gradients Illustrator + Photoshop

Hello,
I'm new to design and have found this style of chart in an annual report. I have, with permission, decomposed the chart to see how it was made 1) is the original, 2) removed the centre ring, 3) the outer ring (and showing that it is two different charts, and 4) the plain chart. The second image shows image 4) after removing all the clipping masks (note the centre circle chart represents the clipping masks)
It would appear that a photoshop vector image has been used as a base for each of the wedges. I tried to recreate using the same colours, however, in AI they appear flat and lifeless, not at all like the images below. Does anyone know how to make a nice version of this chart that appears to have depth using Illustrator?

Hi Silkrooster, there was no step 5 so to speak step five is the decomposed image
The full circle I have coloured for the purposes of viewing, in reality they were completely clear as they were used to create a clopping mask. If you have an email I can send you the AI file for you to take a look.

How to recreate Illustrator Gradients in Photoshop?

hello --
i frequently find myself recreating gradients created in illustrator using photoshop. however, even when using the exact settings for color, opacity, and location, they never come out the same. is there some rule of thumb or some logic as to how those two applications create gradients and how to better approximate them?
any help is much welcome.

Photoshop and Illustrator gradient controls are quite different, apart from both having colour stops. In Photoshop, the top controls are for opacity independent of colour. The apps use different maths for calculating a gradient, but I found a way to produce your gradient in Photoshop. It's quite impractical but it's better than nothing.
Create an opaque to transparent gradient with Smoothness = 0.
Do not move the opacity midpoint control from its default halfway position.
If you made a Gradient Fill layer or gradient-filled Shape then rasterize it (or a duplicate).
Do Layer > Layer Mask > From Transparency.
With mask targeted, do Image > Adjustments > Levels and make a gamma adjustment with the middle control under the graph.
The screenshot shows Illustrator gradient in the left half, and the mask on the Photoshop gradient in the right half being adjusted to give a match.

Send to Illustrator/Photoshop is not working

I've got the latest versions of the CC2014 apps installed. I'm signed in and CC App is running on my Mac taskbar, and I checked in Illustrator and Photoshop and it shows me signed in to my account. I'm signed in to my CC account in Draw and Line on my iPad, bit when I tap "Send to Illustrator" or "Send to Photoshop", I get the progress icon, then a message saying "Sent", but it never shows up on the desktop app. I've tried it with the apps running and closed. I've removed previous versions (CS6 and CC), but no luck. I've tried making sure both iPad and MacBook Pro are on the same WiFi network. No luck so far. Any ideas?

The Send to Illustrator/Photoshop operation sends the file to all of the machines linked to the same account you sent the file from in the Mobile apps. The first time after you restart the Creative Cloud app, the Send to... operation can take longer to receive these notifications to launch the desktop app and open the file, specially with older releases of the Creative Cloud app. Can you confirm your version for the Creative Cloud app? The latest version is 1.8.0.447. You can find this information in:
Settings\Preferences\General Tab\Account
Also, updated versions for Adobe Illustrator is 18.1.0 and Adobe Photoshop is 20140926.r.236

Can't print from CS4 (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)

Here is the issue...
When I try to print from any of the CS4 programs (illustrator, photoshop, or acrobat) most times I get the
spinning color wheel and eventually the application quits. Sometimes I do get to the print dialog box but that's as far as
I get. The color wheel will start spinnng again.
Both CS4 and CS2 are installed on my computer. It is a Mac mini.
However, when I log on under a different profile (administrator) it prints fine.
I had an issue with CS2 and had to create a new profile. Then I got CS4, still using the newly created profile.
Thoughts?

We followed your instructions, deleting the Settings folder and then
removing

After this, we test printed a file in Illustrator to a Dell (which we

i have an Creative Suite 6 Design Standard , i had installed it on the pc but out of Illustrator,photoshop & indesign only acrobat is working..

right click ps>click 'run as administrator'.
if that fails, describe what you see after doing that.

Not able to edit assets in Illustrator/Photoshop and save over existing assets in Edge animation

Not able to edit assets in Illustrator/Photoshop and save over existing assets in Edge animation to update image changes. Has Adobe changed this capability with new releases? Does this mean to update an asset on the Edge animation timeline, you have to copy and paste all the animations of that old asset over to the new imported asset?

You should be able to save over existing assets in the images/ folder, then close and reopen the file. The other option is to save your assets and then use the swap image option in the properties panel. Is this what you're talking about? Thanks,

I have an update problem for 6 months only with the Illustrator, photoshop and indesign last update. A popup appears and inform me about the fail of the update, the reason being that an "U44M1P7" error is occured.

Always an excellent idea to have a backup somewhere. Make sure you purchase an external drive that is big enough that you can create a few partitions. That way you can have a partition for the "clone" and then maybe two more partitions: one for your files as a backup and one for your wife's. And you can move the external around between your computer and your wife's, as long as they are both Macs.
And for cloning, I suggest and recommend Carbon Copy Cloner:

Updating to Mavericks issues with Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver

Since updating to Mavericks I am having problems with Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver opening files on Parallels VM and network servers. Will updating Java to 7 help? Everything worked before upgrade. Photoshop say files are empty, in Dreamweaver the document is blank and Illustrator crashes. If I open the files off my local machine everything works fine.
