Grand prix demo

First, I apologize for placing this request on our technical forum; however, I am experiencing technical difficulties in locating the Java3D demo of a grand prix game. I have heard that it is a bit of a dated demo (circa 2001) and built for Sun's Java3D team by FullSail. I am trying to download it and use it to demonstrate some general Java3D performance issues.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a download?

Well I've never made it run- it won't install at all on my PC for some reason, but apparently the J3Dfly demo, http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/3D/flythrough.html (version 2 in beta at http://java3d.netbeans.org/j3dfly_intro.html ) is a good starting point and I believe the code to that is open-source.

Can I dock my windows Laptop with IMAC?

This would have been a no possibly even 3 years ago, but with the development of common software protocols allowing a flourishing application market, is it now possible for me to dock my Windows PC with a new IMAC. To the extent that the MAC is actually driving things using its OS.
4 Reasons:-
The first reason for wanting to use the Apple OS, is the fault of my overzealous company security settings which when in full flow like they are now on "Virus Scan Thursday" runs up about 90% of the RAM to the point is can take 5 minutes to open a basic forecasting sheet.
The second one is:- after using IPAD day to day for the past three years I can honestly say its one of the most intuitive devices to use, especially Numbers and Keynote. No more googling for formulas. To make my point about its simplicity, I draw your attention to Excels Autosum function which i'm sure you can remember is the Sigma symbol, so poor a symbol is it, that MS have to translate and scribe the words AutoSum in every common language known to man next to it, you opted for the = sign.
The third reason is:- Windows just seems so thrown together now that it might, and quite often does stop working and self destructs. A little bit like the Vauxhall Victor X type did in the 60's. Let me explain what I mean. Take the three next gen consoles on the market, Sony PS4, MS XBOX ONE, and the Nintendo WII U. My boys and are fortunate enough (my bonus payment not so lucky) to have the latter 2-following subsequent visits from a white bearded fellow. I like the shooty brash environments that are driven up in games like COD, which to be fair is the only real game on XBOX ever that I've played since getting over the shock that I could connect with other people over the planet and play them. Anyway before I run off track onto a rose-tinted day when me an my brother would divide the screen up into two sections using cardboard. When playing Goldeneye on the N64; one of us laying prone, one of us sat in an inflatable plastic sofa, both pair of eyes glued to the action on their OWN PORTION of the screen. The cardboard acting like the plastic piece separating two battleship players, neither one knowing the others position. But for the Xbox that's about it, the other games developers don't seem to get the game-play over graphics argument. In the case of some its either far-far too complex for concern, I'm thinking about those driving games with the flash cars and exquisite level of detail in the telemetry and how that car handles. Realistically how many of us have the time to play a full 24 hour Le - Mans - Grand Prix with all of the automatic, car control gadgets switched off. To the complete opposite where the game-play is sooooooo simple, take the reboot of tomb raider which took around 12 hours to clock with all of the collectables. Then you have thousands of apps to contend with. Zune, Music player, etc all bolted onto a bastardised win 8 setup. Then look at Nintendo, and its OS its refined and things seem to work, the published games are always excellent and playable by any age. The new Yoshi wool world looks amazing but it has the complexity of the stardome on Mario world.
The fourth and final reason is, it would probably save me 5 - 10 minutes a day swapping files over email etc etc... But, Its 5 minutes more I can spend with my boys practising their footballing skills and acting out their other ambitions, so that one day they don't have to worry about the appalling 1st world plight of interoperability problems between Windows and Apple! which like Oasis and Blur from Britpop England in the 90's and Love it or Hate it Marmite, realised that being ever so slightly different and arguing a bit about the relative merits of the new stuff, cautiously publicly insulting each other whilst really being squash buddies would ensure massive success for both of them!

Recordings on DVR Expander not displaying

I have 2 FIOS DVR expanders that are connected to my FIOS DVR. The DVR model number QIP 7232 2. The expanders are the approved ones form Western Digital. I connect one of the DVR expanders at a time through the eSATA cable, and I disconnect and connect them using the DVR menus, so I just don't pull out cables without using the menu.
The last time I re-connected my DVR expander #1 the names of the shows are not coming up in the menu even though the main DVR knows there is an expander connected. DVR #2 works just fine. I have checked all cables, rebooted the main DVR, and reinstalled both expanders many times. #1 continues to not display the shows, #2 is just fine.
Short of re-formatting #1, would anyone have a solution?

This issue actually has nothing to do with the 1.9a update to the guide interface.
I have had the F1 event trio set up for a long time now (and had 1.9 since last year as a beta tester) and they also did not schedule. The culprit is Verizon's crappy guide data provider. None of this past weekend's F1 live events (for the Indian Grand Prix) on Speed were marked as NEW so the series manager ignored them (I have it set for new, any time, and selected channel so I don't pick up the re-broadcasts).
I don't know when Verizon is gloing to learn that a DVR is worthless if the guide data is wrong - this guide data issue is a persistent one that Verizon seems unwilling to correct.

A one day entry on iPhone calendar shows as two days on iPad?!

I know you're thinking this is probably something to do with timezones differences between the iPhone and the iPad?
Each year I put the F1 grand prix races in my calendar as a one-day event on the Sunday they take place. On Sunday 27th March 2011 is the Australian grand prix.
On my iPhone (I'm in the UK and running the latest version on an iPhone 4 etc.) it shows as a one-day event but on my iPad it stradles two-days! When I go to click EDIT on the iPhone entry, despite showing as a Sunday entry only, it shows that it starts on Sunday 27th March and finished on Monday 28th March!
I spent a couple of hours looking at this. No other grand prix date has this discrepancy between the iPad and the iPhone calendars (that are sync'd with MobileMe calendar). It's just this one date.
I even had a friend add an event on the same date and it also suggested it was a one day event but when you edit it then it shows it's a two day event.
And then the only explanation dawned on me. It wasn't time zone setting differences as that would affect all the entries like that the whole year.
27th March is the date the clocks go forward in the UK for British Summer Time!
Is it a bug though? Why does the iPhone show it as one day but the iPad show it as two?
What is it with Apple and calendars and alarms?! And don't start me on the MobileMe calendar and Outlook integration. It's rubbish.

I too have the same issue (Feb 2014) which I have just discovered today as I am not a strong user of all-day events, until today when I tried to schedule annual holidays in my diary. I can confirm the EXACT SAME issues that you have described with all-day events displacing 24 hrs EARLY for sync Outlook to iOS calendar, and all-day events displaced 24hrs LATE for sync iOS calendar to Outlook. I also confirm that the issue does not exist for specified time appointments, as you also found.
I note from several other discussion threads that Apple have previously focussed on an issue of all-day events syncing to span 2-days; that is not yet apparent in my situation BUT I will be watching with interest whether a subsequent synchronisation causes the displaced dates to also synchronise back providing the same event apparently spanning 2 days but ACTUALLY existing as two events with identical properties on successive days.
One oddity is that I also operate in the NZ time zone; I wonder if that is significant???
For a brief period I trialled iCloud with a thrid-party patch to resolve the native iCloud issue of not providing 2-way synch with Outlook. That worked beautifully ... until Apple provided an update to the iCloud interface which destroyed all functionality for me. I'm back to hard-wire sync via USB wire again. Very frustrating!!
Finally it is sad that Apple has no interest in these issues. It strikes me that as soon as there is a non-Apple platform involved they blame the other system and wash their hands of it.

I was attempting to watch the LIVE F1 Grand Prix feed from the BBC and the player was jumping around like it was cooking popcorn
Audio was fine but the picture was unwatchable.
When I went back to the site the video ran for a little while (a replay not live) so I thought it was a problem on site.
after discussing it with people on site I find ..It is not.
Now, no video from them plays at all.Tried it on Safari same thing.
I made no changes or anything to my system..
Is there a place I can get the older v 10,1,53

I find that in this exact configuration that Firefox simply crashes with that crash window. I have Disabled ALL extensions and plugins, Firefox works. Then I install ONLY Flash 10.1.85.3 and Firefox 3.6.12 crashes, running on Windows 7.

IPhone plugged into my GM nav./DVD screen

I recently bought a new Cacillac Ecsalade, but was unhappy to discover that there was no ipod jack to link my iPhone music to the vehicle. After serching a bit I found a company that sells a very easy to install device (1 minute..really!)that plugs into the XM reciever (it's right behind the glove box) and has a cord that plugs into the bottom connection on the iPhone. I now have all of my music controlled by the Audio/Video touch screen on the dash. I know that they make this for use in alot of Gm cars. If you are interested here is the link to the web site:

although it isnt cheap ($129.00,) it also charges the phone and the ring tone comes through the speakers so I know when a call is coming in.
They also make other products that "unlock" the dvd/nav system to allow you to do things that you are not normally able to. (watch Pulp Fiction while going 90mph on the hiway!!! aaaaaaaaah... I dont recomend that))

Firewire output Support

Does anyone know when apple is going to add support for Firewire out To external monitor?
Or we are stuck with having to buy a IO Card $$$$$
Without External monitor support Color is Useless.

There will never be any indication of what Apple ever intends to do on any subject.
I thought this was a well understood principle by now.
Consider this, though... Apple appears to be a hardware company that will loss-lead its software to attract revenue. As a profit-oriented company, what would their motivation be to re-tool the software to sell someone else's hardware? Discuss among yourselves.
Consider also that FireWire operates at a given bitrate. Its DV. Consider that the application COLOR was designed, and is stated, to be a high-end correction/grade system. It does give the user the option of rendering back into the source codec, or into either Uncompressed or ProRes422/HQ. There are no options for lowering the output to a more compressed format. Some of this has to do with the fact that it is a GPU-based (not CPU) render engine, and FW(400? I'm assuming...) is probably not going to come out of there very easily... and consuming more cycles is not going to help the overall performance that so many complain about at the outset.
Buying a Grand Prix racing chassis and then dropping in a Honda 4.0 HP lawn mower engine does not guarantee you a competitive ride, I'm afraid... well..., maybe down at the local gokart range, maybe, against the kids with the de-tuned bumpercars.

Central Contract Backend document number is not come back

I saw similiar question but not answered.
We implemented SRM 7.
After Central Contract create, Contract number is transfered to ECC but didn't back.
In tracking tab, there are no backend number.
And I think this is related with XI.
when i check sxmb_moni, 'PurchasingContractSRMReplicationConfirmation_In' message status is not Grand Prix flag.
(Status is 'Transfer to External Applcation', not 'Process Successfully')
What is solution?

But there are no inconsistency or undefined attribute.
We checked it through 'PPOMA_BBP' and 'BBP_CHECK_USERS'.
Could you recommand other way to find out exact point(attribute) about error message?

New sound card Creative Live! 5.1 Digital

Hi,
I disabled the ALC 97 in the BIOS but ddin't uninstall any of the drives. Possibly a bad idea. I shut down and plugged in the new card and booted. When prompted to install the card I told it to look for the drivers on the install CD and it found them.
This card should do EAX but in Grand Prix 4 and Half Life 2 there is no option to turn EAX either on or off. GP4 has the option but it's greyed out, 2D acceleration is available and that works.
I then uninstalled the Realtek sound drivers and the nvmixer thing from add/remove programs, rebooted, then installed the sound card drivers from the CD properly, including all the extra programs.
This hasn't made any difference to the lack of EAX options although in one of the installed programs it does prove that EAX is working but I can't find anything that tells me whether these games are using EAX.
Also, performance in these games has improved DRAMATICALLY. I have recently installed some more RAM but I was under the impression that would only improve loadng times etc and there was only a marginal performance after the new RAM when using 3d mark 05. (Presumably) since installing this new card, I can now max out all the settings in HL2 except for 2xAA and 8xAF and it absolutely flies.
Is all of this supposed to happen? If not, I was going to unplug the card and manually uninstall every sound driver from both add/remove prgorams and device manager and then reinstall the card. Sound good?

How To Test Core2Duo Processor for defects?

All,
as I still have frequent crashing programs on my C2D (E6300) machine,
I now want to check whether the processor is defect or not.
Anybody any idea, how one can do a processor-check?
I did run memtest86 with no errors and also tried a prime95 run for 24hrs
without any problem. Also, SiSoft Sandra did not encounter any problems,
3DMark06 runs okay as well.

One thing I noticed : CoreCenter display 5,36 Volts for the 5V line - may that too much?

I still have the problem of crashes!!
In the meantime I have found that only certain programs crash. These are:
- Need for Speed Underground II (5-15 minutes after start)
- Grand Prix II (5-10 minutes after start)
- Zone Labs Pro sometimes crashes during boot, thus disabling internet access
I have run two instances of Prime 95 for 24 hours with no problem!
The way to have Prime95 run on a particular processor is to create a link with the following
command line:
<Path>\PRIME95.EXE -a0
This runs Prime95 on Core0. Using -a1 runs it on Core 1, respectively.
But back to my problem.
I have installed Windows 2000 Professional on another harddisk - the same results with the above programs !!
The only difference is that I do not get any message but the programs simply crash.
Windows still runs afterwards.
I am about to get totally confused, frustrated, ...
Any more help?
