Graph Fonts Smudge in OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0

Hi All,
You might have noticed, we had issues with fonts in the Axis Labels Orientation of all graphs in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 version, specially when we make the X-axis label as 30/45/60 degree. Then we added that extra line <EmbedFonts>true</EmbedFonts> to the instanceconfig.XML file to bring it right.
Now presently we have upgraded to latest version of OBIEE i.e. 11.1.1.7.0 and we heard most of the bugs have been fixed in this release even oracle says the above bug has been fixed. But we could see the font looks worst (not readable) than the previous versions even in the Axis label orientation (30 or 45 or 60 degrees) in the latest release. Either we add or don't add that extra line in the config file, it does not affect anything on the graphs.
Please suggest if anyone has any idea on the same how to resolve the issues as client complains a lot about the same.
Thank You,
BK.

  • Fonts in graphs are light in OBIEE

    Hi,
    We are getting the Fonts in graphs very light in OBIEE.
    Can some one help me in making all the fonts in graph bold setting the option at one place??
    Thanks.

    I suspect you would have to modify views.css. For any given 'style', there are two copies of this file. So it is impossible to make a change in only one place. You will also have to make sure you are changing the views.css that applies to the style your pages and reports are currently using. As for which exact css element(s) to change, that may just take a little brainpower. The firebug plugin in firefox is a HUGE help for figuring out that sort of thing!
    I suggest doing a google search for a tutorial on how to do this set and change style and skins in OBIEE. It's a lot of description to re-type in a forum post. And yes, two copies of all the css files. Whatever.

  • Graph Data Labels in OBIEE 11g - Customizing

    Hi folks!
    Would somebody know how to select what is shown in graph data labels in OBIEE 11g?
    For example in a scatter graph data label I'd like to show the Group only (not the combination of Series, Group, X and Y, as by default). For a pie chart one can select the data shown in data labels to some extent (name / value), however couldn't find this option for scatter graph.
    After searching I could only find instructions for 10g - such as John's instructions at http://obiee101.blogspot.com.es/2008/01/obiee-xy-and-data-in-mouse-over-label.html.
    However, my understanding is that the graph engine in OBIEE 11g is now different, and the 10g instructions are not valid for 11g anymore.
    I was also having a look on the .cxml files in OBIEE 11g but those seem to relate to colors only?
    Any help appreciated, best regards,
    Ilmari

  • Graph Not visible in OBIEE 11.1.1.6

    Hi,
    We had developed the solution in OBIEE 11g(1.5) version then we migrated to OBIEE 11g (1.6) version. Now the issue is few of the graph's are not visible after migration.
    Also even if I recreate the graphs and try to remove the decimal places by overwriting the default in column properties>Data format the graph becomes invisible again.
    and when I run the report after unchecking the check box of overwriting the default data format I can see the graph.
    what can be the reason & what is the solution?
    Thanks & regards

  • How to remove graph prompt borders in OBIEE 11.1.1.6 (BP1)

    Hello,
    I have a requirement to remove the borders of a graph prompt that we have in place. The version for OBIEE is 11.1.1.6 (BP1).
    Just, to make my question clear, I understand it is not similar to_ OBIEE 11g – Remove Border Around Section Prompt. Also, as it depends on the CSS-Javascript formatting, I was hoping to find some info on this.
    The only source I found that had a small note (on page 19) was: http://www.rittmanmead.com/files/biforum2012/masterclass/RM_BIForum12_Cust2.pdf
    I appreciate any information/ideas/scripts that can be shared here.
    Thanks.

    Use the below code in Text object in your page and tick the box for ‘contains HTML markup’.
    For permanent, site-wide solution would be to modify views.css
    <style>
    .PTPageControl { border:0px; padding:0px; }
    .PTPageEmbedded { border:0px; }
    </style>
    in .css file
    looks for the text as below
    border:solid 1px
    put 0px instead of 1px

  • Chart (Graph) Font Name - Formatting Formula

    Hi,
    I am displaying chart in report, and I have requirement to select (format) font name with some condition (e.g.. As per database language, if database is english - Font Name: "Times New Roman", if database version is Spanish - Font Name: "Arial" etc.)
    Currently I am trying to add "Font Name" formula for x-axis in Graph by "Formula Fields -> Formatting Formulas -> Report Footer -> Report Footer A -> Graph2" and Right click "New Font Formula -> Font Name -> Use Editor", but nothing happens. I tired and noticed It works for "Background Color" .
    Please let me know, how can I add Font Name formula for Graph.
    Note: I am working with Crystal XI

    Vamsee,
    Thanks for your reply.
    You are right, I also want to format x-axis field values but how can I reach (access) to "x-axis" field formatting formula for Graph. In Formula Workshop I can find hierarchy upto Graph level only, I cannot find any node such as X-axis, Y-axis under it.

  • Grapher font conflict

    Whenever I open the application "Grapher", I get the following error:
    Font Conflict
    Several characters cannot be displayed correctly because of a conflict with the font "Symbol".
    I have the symbol font, but I don't know how to resolve this conflict. If the font is corrupted or something, where do I get a non-corrupted replacement?
    The program seems to work fine, but I'm tired of getting this warning each time I open it.
    Thanks.

    Hi Carol,
    Thanks for the help, but it didn't help. I went to Font Book and found that there was a problem with a duplicate Symbol Font. I deleted the one called symbol.dfont. Now there's no conflicts with my symbol font (it's got a nice green check!), but I get the same error with Grapher.
    I did a Google search and found something about Grapher giving an incorrect error message because of something with the Times font, so I validated that in Font Book also and found that there was a duplicate font there too, so I deleted that too.
    I trashed my fontbook.plist file and restarted. Still getting the error message.
    Any other ideas?

  • Setting the title font and axis labels in a graph created with the Report Generation Toolkit

    I'm using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office to generate Excel worksheets containing plots. Unfortunately, the default font size used in the plots is huge (see attached worksheet). I was able to use Excel Set Graph Font.vi to reduce the size of the axis labels, but there does not appear to be a function to do this to the title and legend. In addition, there does not appear to be a function to set the axis text labels. Before I write my own, has NI released additional functions to perform these tasks?

    Test1_-_embedded_graph's_title_and_legend_font_is_huge.xls ‏14 KB

    Hello Zeidan
    The graph title and legend font sizes can be changed by accessing a low level VI (Excel_Insert_Chart.vi) that is part of the excelsub.llb that is located at (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\_office). This VI is called dynamically from within the Excel Insert Graph.vi and it uses VI server technology to access the Excel exposed properties. Attached to this post is an image of the block diagram of this VI after I have modified it to set the font sizes of the title and legend to 15. The circles in the image represent what I had to add to accomplish this.

  • "Graph Prompt" align center in OBIEE 11g

    Hi All,
    I have got a requirement to align the "Graph Prompt" center in OBIEE 11g (11.1.16.2 BP1). I could remove the boarder around the prompt using the following CSS.
    <style>
    .PTPageControl { border:0px; padding:0px; }
    .PTPageEmbedded { border:0px;}
    </style>
    Can someone please let me know how to algin "graph prompt" center? Thanks in advance.

    See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg622942%28v=VS.85%29.aspx
    Basically, IE9 breaks flash ExternalInterface calls if your flash component is embedded with an object tag with an embed tag fallback, and the object id and embed name is the same.
    The easiest workaround is to tell ie9 to render your page in IE8 Standards mode. To do this, insert this in the element:
    <!-- Enable IE8 Standards mode --> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" >
    Otherwise, you might just want to use the object tag only or embed tag only.

  • Fonts in graphs don't scale using firefox with Win 8

    Using Win 8.1 and Mozilla Firefox, when I go to Yahoo finance to look at a stock graph, everything scales except the graph's labels for the axes. As an example, go to Yahoo finance (Yahoo.finance.com), click on Nasdaq (or any other), then under the graph on the top right click on 5d (or 1m or whatever). The graph will display correctly but the x-y axes labels are too small to read.
    So far only IE has worked well with Win 8 after having adjusted zooms and fonts. Firefox had been my browser of choice. Please help me achieve this.

    Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, there are other software with the same issue. Kaspersky, on-line Civilization (I don't play, but I downloaded it as an offer), and, yes, Adobe reader.
    My guess is that Microsoft let go of the standard monitor pixel sizes (e.g. 768X1280 or whatever...) because there are so many different high density pixel screens (mine's about 1800X3200). Programs either choose to control the pixel density or it becomes an unknown variable dependent on each computer's screen resolution setup. For example, if I decreased the resolution to the 768x1280 setting, I could actually see a full screen Civilization window. In high resolution settings, it was a small box with microscopic letters.
    If you get into the details of Firefox, there is a whole set of defined settings (see earlier in thread about "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the about:config"). While I like learning, sometimes knowing a thousand different settings is not the way I want to work on my computer. And none of it comes with definitions. I don't want to be a proud firefox web browser certified technician. But I appreciate firefox and am glad someone there does understand it. Actually, it would be fun.
    Back to my issue with the yahoo finance and firefox, it is more confusing because most of the webpage is normal sized while some of the inner graph fonts are microscopic. Changing the screen resolution has no effect on it. Playing with the screen resolution changed the sharpness of the firefox fonts. Right now it's fuzzy and I'm uncertain it will sharpen when I restart my computer.
    So, in short, I don't have a clue.

  • OBIEE - Graph

    Hi Frnds,
    I'm trying to produce default linear graph.
    I have 2 measures i produced a graph - using chart property in window. Using: Graph: Line bar combo, 2d stacked.
    But, i want to produce a linear graph b/w them, based on the 2 measures graph.
    Eg: I have current values, forecasted values measures. I got graph using linebar combo, selecting line for both above measures. I want the dotted line (which says linear values - which is generally based on above 2 measures graph )
    How to get linear value graph by default from obiee?
    OBIEE-10G
    Thank you.

    In , order to resolve it i created a dummy column in answers.
    And, in the forumulae section - i said (Current value+forecaseted value)/2 ----- and called it in Graph.
    But, i think this doesn't show the linear graph ? Does it ?
    Is the approach is correct ?
    Thank you.

  • New Fonts for OBIEE Answers

    HI,
    We are using OBIEE 10, on Linux platform. We have an urgent requirement to utilise a new Font in the OBIEE portal. In particular, when we select a column in the Answers, we should be able to get this font in the Column Properties->Style -> Font ->Family.
    Also this should be set as the default font in the dashboard. Currently the OBIEE restricts the Font selections to default 10. I need to either add a new one , or replace existing one. Can someone suggest the files to be modified?
    Regards
    Jay

    Check this URL,

    Also, by editing commonuitemplates.xml and new font can be added in <option>......</option> tag in some kuifont templates tag in it.

  • Web App Designer - Graph - "Data table" text font size

    Hi,
    In the graphs, I am showing the data table by using this piece of code.
    <param name="SHOW_DATATABLE" value="X"/>
    How should I control the font size of the text displayed in data table.
    Thanks
    Gova

    Oh, my mistake. I thought you were talking about the table. The graph fonts are not maintained in a stylesheet. You have to go to the graph element (double click) and make changes to the fonts there.

  • Excel Graph Legend Formatting - Report Generation Tool

    Hi all,
    I'm currently using the Report Generation Tool for Labview '11 and cannot seem to figure out how to edit the font properties for a graph's legend. Attached is a screenshot of an example output.
    The Excel Graph Font.vi's Help file says that it should be able to modify the legend, yet I can't seem to figure out how to configure it to do so. If anyone can walk me through the steps or tell me what I am missing, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    The Word object model is probably the most complicated of the Office suite and you are loosing the calculation ability of Excel.
