Graph legend width change - Left aligned or right aligned

Hello all,
when I place an XY-Graph with Plot-Legend shown in LV2012, the text of the plot name is left aligned, wich is, what I want. With this behaviour the little pictures, representing the plot attributes, are fixed. After migrating to LV2014 I realized, that the text is now right aligned, which means, that the little pictures are moving to left & right, depending on the plot name length.
I found no property controlling this behaviour.
As a workaround I could set the plot legend position depending on its width, when the plot name is changed, but there is no event, firing when the plot name is changed by the user. So I would have to poll the plot names in the timeout case of my event structure. Btw. I have to show six XY- graphs on my FP, so polling can cause a remarkable CPU load (when I do it 1000 times / s ).
Any suggestions?
Greets, Dave

Hello Dominik,
thank you for your reply.
I'd like to show you the problem with some pictures:
The left picture shows the original situation, the right picture demonstrates the behaviour with LV2012, the legend is right aligned.
The same situation in LV2014, the legend is right aligned.
Greets, Dave

  • Change left-tabs to right-tabs without too much hassle?

    I would like to change a bunch of tabs in a documented from left-justified tabs to right-justified tabs, in as few steps as possible. Any thoughts?

    Yes-- let me start from scratch. Sorry. I should have started with this.
    I have to lay out a financial chart. It might be easiest to use tables, but I am importing text from Excel and I've found that importing it as a text rather than a table is actually the easiest way to go. When I import my financial data and paste it as text into InDesign, I end up with something like this:
    This is perfect, except for one thing. The middle column should align to the right. That is, the number $308,416 should line up under the number $1,230,595 in the correct right justification that you might expect to see in numbers and accounting.
    If I don't want to use a table, what's my best approach?
    Thanks.

  • Illustrator Graph Legends change location on refresh

    I have just upgraded from Illustrator 10 to Illustrator CS4. I have thousands of repeating graphs we use for production of newsletters, books, etc. With Illustrator 10, I would use the Group Selection tool to move a graph's legend and text to the position I wanted them, and they stayed put every time I edited the data.  Now, after importing into CS4, I'm discovering that although the graph parts of the legend stay put (lines, squares of color for columns), my text for the legends moves with every refresh. This is a major problem for me, since we can't be moving these manually over and over every time I add data to a graph or make changes.
    I knew the text is handled very differently between 10 and CS4, so I tested recreating some of my most used graphs from scratch in CS4 to see if this would solve the problem. It's actually worse; the text moves position far to the right or to the top, depending on whether Add Legend Across Top is selected or not. I never use legends in either of these spots, we always put them inside the graph, or outside on the bottom.
    I think I must be missing something in now to update these graphs in CS4 to keep the legend text from jumping all over the place. Please tell me I'm missing something!

    OK, no answers to my specific question as of yet. So  can I just ask if those of you who use the Graph tool fairly frequently can answer this. Once you create a graph, do you move the legend? And if you do reposition the legend manually in a custom position (not top or left in the default position), and then update the data with changes, additions, etc., do the graph legends stick for you, or do they move?

  • Change Navigation Menu to be Left Aligned

    I am using Theme 5 and the Navigation Bar Menu is Right Aligned and I want to make it Left Aligned. The page template script is as follows:
    <table summary="" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%">
    <tr>
    <td valign="top">#LOGO##REGION_POSITION_06#</td>
    <td width="100%" valign="top">#REGION_POSITION_07#</td>
    <td class="t5NavBar" valign="top">#NAVIGATION_BAR##REGION_POSITION_08#</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    I tried adding align="left" to the last td column above but it did nothing. Is it possible to make it left aligned?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    I am having a similar issue with the Navigation Bar with two Apex 2.2. applications. Both applications are in the same
    workspace. I have one application where the navigation bar is aligned properly and one application where
    the navigation bar is always right aligned. In that application, I can remove and re-create the navigation bar
    and it remains right aligned. In both apps, there are no separate CSS files that are referenced. Only the existing
    apex system CSS file(s). Any suggestions on what to check to correct the app with the right aligned navigation
    bar?
    Thanks

  • How to change the default left alignment setting in Word 2010 professional (personal use)

    Hi, I use Word 2010 Professional for my personal use at home, and somehow the default setting for the left alignment in a new Word document has been changed to a hanging indent at .25.  So every time I open a new Word  document, the left margin
    has an indent setting.  I have to change it to 0.0 every time, which is annoying.
    I've tried to go into the "Options" section, under "Custom Settings" to de-select an auto left margin indentation, but I can't seem to find an option to do that.  Can anyone please tell me how to change this setting in the master Word 2010 template,
    so that every time I open a new doc, the left side is aligned at the 1" margin with no hanging indent?
    Thank you.

Ever since i did that when i copy txt left aligned indesign keeps on pasting the txt right aligned. it is mind boggling & very annoying. i've put all my prefs back to my regular dutch setting, but even when i past with a paragraph style left aligned it keeps on putting it right aligned... Help.

    It should paste with wahtever style is assigned at the insertion point when you paste without formatting... Pasting formatted text is going to bring all the formatting (including what will become local overrides) with it.
    Is your text showing the + sign to indicate a local override of the style? If it is you can clear the overrides after pasting.

  • Why is InDesign6 rendereing left-aligned text as right-aligned?

    I have a Word Document and we're feeding it to InDesign 5.5 and InDesign 6. The text are left-aligned and were rendered as such by 5.5. InDesign 6 renders it as right-aligned. I'm not sure why this is happening!

  • Change the width of left navigation pane

    I am wondering how can I change the width of left navigation pane, as the group name is so long that user can't read it now, is there any way to increase the width of the pane so it will dispaly the full group name?

    Out of the box there is no way to change the size of the left hand pane.  However if you are customizing Workspace you should be able to change the width of that pane.  Also if the name of the group is too long to display in the pane you can hover over the group (or category or process name) and the tooltip should display the full name of the group.
    Hope that helps.

  • Changing the alignment of text on the Creative Zen Visio

    Ok after having the Vision:M for a very long time it finally has a crack in the screen. The crack has turned into one big black blob and is on the left side which is covering up the text. Hi, i have a similar situation without the icon. I have a button whose text is to be left aligned. Here is the snippet of code i have. But, it is not working.
    linksButton = new JButton(link);
             linksButton.setHorizontalTextPosition(SwingConstants.LEFT);
             linksButton.setBounds(xComp,yComp,width,height);

  • How can I Left Align text in the Marker Arrangement tabs?

    It would make it easier to read the heading text of the Arrangement Marker tabs if they were Left Aligned when the project is minimised.
    Is there any way of setting this up or is it a default?

    I'm not aware of a way to make Firefox hide the first tab instead of the last tab; maybe there is an add-on with that feature.
    There is a hidden setting to open the new tab at the end of the bar instead of next to the page you're reading. Then, of course, you won't have this problem. Instead, you'll have the problem that it's hard to figure out which tab had that link in it. In case you want to try it out, here's how.
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''tabs''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent''' preference to switch it from true to false (it should turn bold)
    You're done here. You can keep it open in case you hate the change and watch to switch it right back. In that case, double-click again to switch it back to true.

  • Having trouble with left align in all versions of internet explorer

    I created my pages in Dreamweaver and uploaded them to my university's server.  Because we have a content management system and my boss didn't like the layout that we are able to use, I had to create separate html pages and place them into the CMS using iframes.  Each individual page has a banner on the top, and underneath that, a menu on the left side and the main body text on the right.    In Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, the menu takes up the appropriate amount of space (about 250 px) and then the body text is left aligned about 10 px to the right of the menu.  However, when I open the same page internet explorer, there is a large gap between the menu and the text. I have tried it within the iframes and without and both have this problem.  The URL is: http://chicago.medicine.uic.edu/UserFiles/Servers/Server_442934/File/Hematology/welcome.ht m.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    I don't  use tables for layouts.  You have more control with CSS.
    Copy & paste this into a new HTML page and play with it.

  • Changing the alignment of the window title in a jFrame...

    hi.
    is it possible to change the alignment of the window title in a jFrame from left to center / right?
    really appreciate your help on this one. tnx.

    read "dr_ness" posting here:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=57&threadID=353930
    You'll have to extend BasicRootPaneUI and use your custom root pane UI on your frame, so it always draws the title in the center.

  • YouTube Video Issue - when I fill the wrapper it left aligns on mobile & tablets

    Example: http://www.hollywoodunderground.com
    When I set the width of the video to 1000px, it looks fine in browsers, but when you look at it on a mobile device it left aligns the whole page. My only fix so far has been to change it to 990px but obviously that doesn't look quite as good. I have the iframe inside a video DIV with the dimensions set in HTML, would CSS dimensions be better or is this something with YouTube?

    In the following example, I have embedded a YT video inside a FluidGrid Layout (% width).  The video and layout respond to device width.
    http://alt-web.com/FluidGrid/Fluid.html
    The relevant CSS code for video-container is this:
    .video-container {
        position: relative;
        padding-bottom: 56.25%;
        padding-top: 30px;
        height: 0;
        overflow: hidden;
    .video-container iframe,
    .video-container object,
    .video-container embed {
        position: absolute;
        top: 0;
        left: 0;
        width: 100%;
        height: 100%;
    The HTML:
    <div class="video-container">
    <!--YOUTUBE CODE-->
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/your-code-here" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
    <!--end video-container--></div>
