Graph of Measurement points and a charecteristic vs time

Hi SAP Masters,
I am currently having a problem and I hope you can help me to solve this. I am trying to create a graph where I can compare one of  my Design data which is in my characteristic against the graph that i can generate from the measurement point vs time graph.
How can I add the characteristic into this graph?
And How does SAP know that which two column should be used for the graph? I know It can add a secondary y-axix but doesn't allow me to chose any data for that axis.
My objective is to compare the measurement point data(movement) vs time with the design data(design movement). I can generate a column graph of movement vs time from the measurement points and I can display it over last couple of years. but if I can show design movement along with the measurement point movement then it is good for us to see if it is more than design movement stored in the classification tab of the Floc.
thank you

  • Measuring point and characteristics

what are the measuring points and characteristics to be created for the thermal power station , sap plant maintenance

    Hi,
Its based on the equipments in Power Station & Parameters to be measured for the Equipments. For example, for Boiler, Temperature, Pressure, Water Level, etc., will be measured.
So here we need to create Characteristics for all these. For Boilers, Measuring points will be created for these characteristics.
Equipments under Thermal Power stations could be Boilers, Transformers, Electric Generators, Coal Turbines, Condensers, etc., For each equipment, there will be different critical parameters to be measured on periodical basis.
Create Measuring points for all of them.

  • Equipment Efficiency through Measuring Point and Counters

    Hi gurus,
I am planning to get the efficiency of equipment by using Meauring points and counters.
Against an Equipment I have created a Measuring point as counter.
I am capturing Actual output of the machine as mesurment reading.
In order to set the Target output i dont find a solution.
I am expecting from all you guys to give me some solution to set the Expected or standard output against an equipment.
so that i can compare the target vs actual as well as efficiency.

The purpose of measuring points and counters is to genrate call objects at given overflow reading or points I dont think so that they can help in calculating the effiency in a way that this machine perfomence is let say 80% and other one is 70%.
However you can maintain it manualy while entering the measuring points in format of % .

  • Diffrence between Measuring point and Counter

What is the difference between Measuring Point and Counter ?
    -Md

    Hi,
    _Measuring Point_
Measuring points in the SAP System describe the physical locations at which a condition is described, (for example, Temparature and Pressure on a Boiler ). The characteristics associated with the measuring points which record the value can only be numeric characteristic. Measuring points are located on technical objects, in other words, on pieces of equipment or functional locations. For every measuring point there should be some characteristics to measure the reading.
To enable you to differentiate more easily between the individual measuring points and provide them with a unit, you assign each measuring point to a characteristic.
The parameters like Running Hours, Temperature, Pressure etc,, on equipments can also be mapped under measuring point.
    Counter:
A type of measuring point, where a continuous reading is recorded (e.g. Milometer). In case the measuring point is a counter, it needs to be defined likewise.
Counter readings are taken at counters at particular intervals and in particular measurement units.
For Example, counter readings for kilometers driven or electricity used

  • Functional location in Measuring Point and while creating M.plan or differe

    Hi,
we found that functional location in Measuring point and M.plan functional location Measuring point are differrent, how to restrict that one ,we need automatically flow of functional location from measuring point to Maintenance plan.
    --Ganesh

    Hi,
If you created the Measuring Point for the selected FL, then that measuring point will be populated automatically. If you have more than one measuring point, then you can select using Possible entries option.
In this case, I think its not possible to restrict with configuration.
IPRM0004 Maintenance plan / item: Customer check for time "SAVE"
Use this user exit, while saving check for the functional location for the selected measuring point & give error message.
Use tables IMPTT to get Object Number of FL. Use IFLOT to get the FL.

  • Removing of the Measuring  point and superior equipment

    Hi,
Can any one tell me the steps to followed for removing and setting og deletion flag for measuring point and superior equipment.
I ran thr Tcode IK05 and deactivated it is it sufficient to do so.please help me.
    Regards,
    Yashwanth

    hi
why you want to deactivate the measuring point ,if you have created a maintenance plan you can deactivate the maintenance plan so that system will not generate the maintenance call object.
or it is better you deactivate the equipment itself if you have done that you cannot able to enter further measurement documents for measuring point

  • Unable to Inport Measurement points and Measure documents from R/3 to clien

    Hi,
I am not able to import measuring points and measuring documents into the client device even after assigning the measurement point varaint in the back-end config.
    Please help!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kanwar

    Hello Kanwar,
I am thinking of two reasons at the moment.
    1. The equipments/Functional location which you had downloaded to your device were not having measurement points. If this is the case, you need to make sure that corresponding Equip/FL's are there on client (provided case 2 is not valid)
    2. The measurement points were not replicated. Hope you had checked MEREP_207 table for the required measurement points.
    Hope this helps.

  • Measuring points and counters

    Hi all,
Can anyone please tell me the process of how to use measuring points and counters and in which scenario it will be used in plant. It would be great if anyone can tell the process with an example and also how to create measuring points and counters iin SAP  as  well.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay

Measuring points are physical and/or logical locations at which a particular condition
is described - for example, the temperature of coolant in a nuclear power station
after an outflow from the pressure vessels, or the number of rotations per minute of
the rotary blades of a wind-driven power station. Measuring points are located at
    technical objects.
Counters are resources that enable you to represent the wear and tear of an object or
the consumption or reduction in its useful life - for example, the mileage indicator of a
motor vehicle or the electricity consumption meter of an electrically-powered system.
Counters are located at technical objects.
You can enter measurement or counter readings for each object to be maintained. This
makes sense if you want to document the condition of an object based on measurement
readings or if the regular maintenance of an object depends on its meter readings.

  • Measurement point and counter SAP PM

    Hi SAP Guru
I've one scenario in which we've to input counter reading smaller than the previous reading
and some times bigger reading than previous reading for a single counter.
It is because single counter is for Energy Meter which sometimes shows bigger value and sometimes shows lesser value in case of shutdown at plant.
Please let me know asap - is it possible for a single counter to accept bigger value one time and next time smaller value ?
We can't make two counters for a single equipment.
    Regards
    Pooja

Try using the counter as a measurement point.   Unclick the box measurement point is a counter and set the upper and lower tolerance settings on the details page.  The meter is not a counter but a gage.  as long as the gage reads between the upper and lower tolerances you are good.     If the gage reads out of tolerance designate a warning or an error.  You can also set it up through a user exit to produce a notification or a work order for out of tolerance readings.  See Condition Based Maintenance. -Rich

  • Reg: measuring point creation and measuring point counter creation

how to create measuring point and measuring point counter.
what is the difference between these two.
    what is measuring point category,
    what is measuring point
    what is measuring point object
    what is measuring position.
can anyone explain me in an easy for better understanding.

Firstly a Measuring point is nothing but, a factor which you measure on an equipment/FL. (Temperature, Vibration etc)
Then, a measuring point is created either on a Functional location or on an Equipment.
IK01 is the T-code for creating it.
If it is for F/L you have to use IFL as measuring point object, when it is an equipment you use IEQ
Generally these two will be in use.
In the IK01 screen if you tick the counter checkbox, the MP becomes a counter.
Example for simple MP is temperature.
And example for a Counter MP is 'Litres of petrol consumed'
In the first case you don't need to add the temperature measurements, whereas in the petrol consumption you may wish to have the cumulative value of readings taken for a period of time.
The measuring position: Example : If you are measuring the temperature of a Motor on the Drive side, you may put 'Drive End' in this field, or similar many applications.
    Category would group these MPs.
In case of need you may define in customisation a sep[arate MP category.
Then each time you read a MP through IK11 or other methods a Measuring Document is created.

  • Measuring point based PM

    Team,
I am trying to create a measuring point based PM. The requierment is i am checking the wear of an equipment and if it goes below 50 mm, i want a notication to be created. I am sure the IMRC001 is activated in my client. I did the following process
    1. Create IK01 measuring point.
    2. Create IK11 measuring document
    3. Create Tasklist
    4. Create PM
But when i create the Plan in IP41, i still see the counter which exists for the equipment , but dont see the measuring point in the plan.
Am i missing something? Please guide me.
    Thanks,
    Nureya

    Maheswaran
Thanks for the reply. Why should this wear measuring point should be a counter? I want this as measuring point and set the interval in extras...EX: If the wear is 48 -52 , the system should trigger a notication.
Are you saying, if I use user exit IMRC0001..I don't have to create a maintenance plan in IP41/IP42? Please confirm

  • Measuring Point - remove characteristic

    Ladies and Gents,
I have created a measuring point and have assigned a characteristic to it.  I have then saved it and went back to change mode.  I cannot seem to change the characteristic anymore as the field is grayed out.  I have checked the config and all the menus and cannot see a way of re-enabling that field.
Could someone please provide some guidance on how I could change / remove the characteristic on a measuring point?
    Thanks
    Mantas

    thyagarajan,
I seem to be reaching the same conclusion after numerous discussions with my colleagues.  Would you have a reference to documentation somewhere to support your conclusion?
    Keshav Reddy,
    Either:
    1.  Create a measuring point (IK01) setting a numeric characteristic.
    2.  Modify an existing measuring point (IK02) - characteristic field should be grayed out.
My question was - why is this field grayed out and how could we go about removing the characteristic / modifying it without having to modify the entries in the database tables.
    Kind Regards,
    Mantas
