Graph prompts?

Hello All,
I am using graph prompt for one of my graphs and when i am running the Analyses with the graph prompt in the drop down it is repeating the elements in it. I am not sure why this is happening. For ex: i have a,b,c,d elements but the graph prompt drop down is showing me a,b,a,c,d,a,b,c,d,a,a some like this all i wanted is a,b,c,d. Please advice. I am using OBIEE 11g

Thanks for the response deepak. i tried that and still it shows the repeated elements for that specific column. I tried to create a new analysis with couple of other columns as graph prompts and interestingly it is showing distinct elements just one time. I am not sure why that is happening

"Graph Prompt" align center in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
I have got a requirement to align the "Graph Prompt" center in OBIEE 11g (11.1.16.2 BP1). I could remove the boarder around the prompt using the following CSS.

Basically, IE9 breaks flash ExternalInterface calls if your flash component is embedded with an object tag with an embed tag fallback, and the object id and embed name is the same.
The easiest workaround is to tell ie9 to render your page in IE8 Standards mode. To do this, insert this in the element:
 <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" >
Otherwise, you might just want to use the object tag only or embed tag only.

Graph Prompt Error?

I am trying to use a year in the graph prompt and when i am trying to change the year it is giving me the error as below> i tried to use another columns as graph prompts it is working fine. please advice

I tried with out the is prompt but still it's not working. I have that for future use because we will be using the report for dash boarding where we might use the dashboard Prompt. but i get your point only one is needed either the dashboard prompt or graph prompt. My best bet at this point is may be just remove the graph prompt and try to drag it on the dashboard and use a dash prompt instead.

How to remove graph prompt borders in OBIEE 11.1.1.6 (BP1)

I have a requirement to remove the borders of a graph prompt that we have in place. The version for OBIEE is 11.1.1.6 (BP1).
Just, to make my question clear, I understand it is not similar to_ OBIEE 11g – Remove Border Around Section Prompt. Also, as it depends on the CSS-Javascript formatting, I was hoping to find some info on this.

Use the below code in Text object in your page and tick the box for ‘contains HTML markup’.
For permanent, site-wide solution would be to modify views.css

put 0px instead of 1px

How to hide graph prompt?

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.11
I know I can and have hidden pivot table prompts.
How do I hide the graph prompts? I can not find this anywhere.

How to show one prompt that works for both Graph and Table views?

Have an analysis with a graph and a table. The information in the table and graph are different so cannot use a pivot table w/graph.
Each view has a view prompt for Year and Month (tried both separately and also as one combined column ‘201001’) so user can easily change months.
Too much data to use the slider because it will not graph.
Page prompt does not allow user to switch dates easily.
Since this will be a link from a dashboard, do not think making this a dashboard from a dashboard would be good so not a dashboard prompt.
Saw something about Master Detail linking, but does not appear to work with graph prompts.
How would the analysis be configured to show one prompt that works for both the Table and the Graph?
One prompt would change both the table and the graph.

Master Detail Linking almost works.
Table view can show all the results without error.
Graph view needs to be limited or errs with "Exceeded configured maximum number of allowed input records."
Is there a way to set the initial Master Detail Linking value to the top sorted value?

11.1.1.5 - Measure labels are appearing in legend (line graph)

I've created a line graph in 11.1.1.5. My legend is showing a combination of the column value and the measure name (e.g. Web Sales, Direct Sales, Retail Sales). I want my legend to simply say Web, Direct, and Retail, without the appended 'Sales' measure label.
The Measure Labels tile is currently residing in the Vary Color By (Horizontal Axis) zone, along with the legend column, so I guess it makes sense that the legend column and the measure labels would both show up in the legend (although I don't think that was the case in 11.1.1.3). However, there doesn't appear to be any place into which I can relocate the Measure Labels tile so that the word Sales DOESN'T appear on the line graph. If I move the Measures Labels tile into Graph Prompts, Sections, or Group By (Horizontal Axis), the word Sales appears in those locations. If I attempt to move that tile into the Lines (Vertical Axis) box, or into the Excluded box, it won't allow being dropped there.
Switching between line, bar, and area graphs reveals the same problem in all graph types.
Is there any way to supress the display of measure labels on graphs in 11.1.1.5?

Hi Paul,
This is the feature in 11g obiee displaying the Measue heading and dimension value... like u said right Web Sales...and so on.
Here in u case web is the value of dimension and Sales is heading of a measure.
One way is if u are not using any dimension apart from 1 dim and fact u can put measure labels in the group by axis and dimension column in the show in legend section then it will give u only web.
But if u have 2 dimension then we have to put this measure labels with either one of the dimensions in this case heading of the measure wil display.

OBIEE 11.7 Graph issues

Good Morning
I recently did a new installation of OBIEE 11.7.0 everything is working fine except the fact that all my graph are not displaying.
I am not getting any error the graph simply does not appear, just a blank area where the graph needed to be.
When i add graph prompts etc it comes perfectly but the actual graph does not display.
Any suggestions?

Siebel Analytics: Restricting Items in Graph

I have a graph and a table report which I have created in Siebel Analytics and would like to display the same number of items in my graph as my table. I am able to restrict the number of records in the table but have not been able to do the same in the graph. In other words, if I restrict the records in the table to 10, then I would like the graph to display 10 items as well. If users want to see more records then they can select the next button. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Inserting a column into the title of a graph

Hi,
I have a pie chart with a title. I also have a drop down column in the graph prompt area showing the months.
I need the month value to show within the title, and for it to change when the user chooses another month
from the drop down list.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Let's see if I can figure this out and type it up before the real GREP masters show up...
\d{9} will find groups of nine digits, but what you actually need to do is find groups of five digits followed by groups of four digits.
\d{5}\d{4}
And you need to separate them into groups:
(\d{5})(\d{4})
so that in the Change field you can use "first found group" and "second found group":
$1-$2

Bubble graph with Time slider?

Hello Experts,
I have a bubble graph with a time slider on it and the bubble graph talks about the Top 5 products sold. so when i play the time slider the legend is static because for some of the years the products name should change as the top 5 sold items are changed but interestingly the legend is stuck. Any thoughts? and when i replace the time slider with a year graph prompt the legend is changing based on the year selection, not sure if it is a bug with slider wondering if there is a way i can still use the time slider

OBIEE 11g error in filter

Hi,
I have a problem in OBIEE 11.1.1.6
I have a report where project No is a filter i.e in where condition.
Now I have a project no like "ERP-HR STD&2012". Now this is not returning data getting error out. In OBIEE, whenever it see any & sign in the project number filter, it returns error. Now when I run the sql query(getting from nqsquery log) in PL/SQL developer or Toad, I get the correct result showing data.
If some & or % sign appears in the filter data, OBI could not able to run request
Please help.

Actually I am creating a bar chart report where in x axis I have project no. And I set project no as graph prompt. Now in the LOV of project no whenever I select one particular project "ERP -HR STD &2012", the report fails to produce graph. But every other LOV values are runnig fine with graph. Only wnehever it finds any project no containing & sign, it fails.

Hierarchies and Master Detail Linking

I have a hierarchy field that I would like to use as my "Master" source to drive my report detail. I'm having trouble and am wondering if this is even possible given that in the table/graph prompt I can only set it up to listen for one channel.

I have one report in BI Answers 11g. I need to put several pie charts on it, all with different
filters.
Is this possible?
I can see there is a field to drop Graph prompts into, but can I create a default for this ?
