I acquire signals from a USB card (N signals), I use de DAQmx Analog input (NchanelsNsamples) ,I dont know how i can start the time axis at zero..
please you can help me

If you are using a graph, you have just to double-click on the first value to change it.

Wavefrom graph time from .csv

Hello everyone
I use "read from spreadsheet file" to read a two column .csv file in a waveform graph.
Time is defined in the first column and the Data is defined in the second column.
The problem occurs in the x-axis of the graph (Time-axis). It doesn't match with the numbers from the .csv as shown on the picture below, but the Y-axis has correct values.

Works fine here once I configure it to use a comma as decimal delimiter (using format=" %,;%.3f " on read from spreadsheet file).
You seem to use a foreign version so that should not be necessary, depending on the language setting of your computer but it seems to be the problem.
As a first step, you should display the entire 2D array in an array indicator to ensure that your number don't get truncated somehow. If they get truncated, dt will be set as zero and thus ignored and taken as 1.

Graph plot in labview to get time in seconds or minutes in X axis starting from 0.

How can we obtain time starting from 0 seconds or 0 minutes on X axis in a chart and XY graph in labview.When I plot it is showing the system time on X axis.I would prefer the time to start from 0 ( seconds) , rather than system time.Please reply.

I have NI cDAQ 9174 chasis and NI 9211 and NI 9207 for thermocouple (NI 9211) and current (NI 9207).Can I acquire all three data inputs within a single DAQ Assistant express vi.Because I tried to access all 3 in one DAQ Assisstant , but it was not accepting it.So I had to place one DAQ Assisstant for thermocouple readings and another for current.For reference I have attached my labview diagram.

How do I graph multiple bit values on one time axis?

I want to graph multiple bit values, all of which will change back and forth from 0 to 1, on the same time axis, but I don't want any visual overlap between the different bit value traces. Now I could do this by graphing bit one as either 0 or 1, bit 2 as 2 or 3, bit 3 as 4 or 5, etc., but I would really rather have multiple Y axes showing 0 to 1, stacked vertically on the same time (X) axis.
You could visualize this as multiple pens on a strip chart continuously recording different values. Each pen has its own vertical area in which it writes, but all pens could be writing data from the same numerical range.
Hmmm... I think my description might be roughly as clear as mud, but if anyone out there can figure out what I am asking and has potential solutions, please let me know.

Thanks. I will look at that VI, but I think I have already seen it. My problem is that I have CAN data coming in for an hour or so, but the time interval between receiving specific CAN arbitration IDs varies, so I want to plot the X axis against specific, varying time values, not a standard dT. I'm not sure I can do this on a digital graph, but I haven't given up hope yet.
BTW, I am receiving 8-byte CAN packages. Some of the bytes represent actual values, but I need to break others up into individual bit values to see error and status flag settings. Once I break the bytes into bits, I convert from analog values to digital values.

Is there a way to change the time of a saved data to be as the same as the time-axis of the waveform graph?

I've a problem while saving the waveform to a spreadsheet.
The problem that I'm facing is that I'm not able to save/change the time-axis of the waveform graph into the excel spreadsheet.
The attachments below are what I've programmed on.
1st file that would be asked to save is the results of the waveform.
2nd file, supposing to be the time-axis
3rd file, is the multiplication of results of CH 1 and CH 2.
Would be glad if someone can enlighten me with a solution which is suitable for LabView version 8.2 and Tektronix DPO 72004.

I've saved it as text file which could be read if I open it with excel spreadsheet.
My aim is to get the time-axis (x-axis) in the file rather than to get the date and time in the file.
The attachment is the waveform results that I've obtained.

Size marker and time axis scatter graph

1.Can we increase default size of marker in scatter graph?
2.Also, for the time axis can we format the date to be able to show (mm/dd/yyyy) for all the values on axis rather than just the first one ?

I still didn't find a solution.
I can show the data in the bar graph or in line graph, but not in scatter graph. In the scatter graph, there could be set for x and y axis just number values.
But is it really not possible to create the graph with time x-axis and number(or string) y-axis?
Has our customer so special requirement? Or is there no answer because it's so easy?
In the previous post, I've forgotten to write that my version is 11.1.2.1.0.

I have a small problem with the "waveform graph" - what I want is the X-axis to diplay the time (this is easy:-) ) but I want the time to start at Zero and the display seconds from when I start the VI?? when I choose "relative time" its displaying seconds but not from zero?? - another thing: the data displayed in the graph I also write to a spreadsheet file and I then use the "tick count [ms]" which is also written to the spreadsheet in order to get a "timestamp" for each datapoint!! this works ok! but isent there someway that the graphblock can give the timestamp?? hope you understand what I mean??

I still didn't get it all, but if you don't have a timestamp for every Y-value, you need to create it for yourself. For an example I made a solution in the simple and the cool way:

Iam using a table in numbers to plot daily graph lines. If I fill a cell with a text box at say zero it plots the graph. I can't actually set the cell value until the actual day but the graph plots it at zero when I don't want it to plot anything. Is tho

The answer is (sort of) in your subject, but edited out of the problem statement in the body of your message.
When you use a stepper or a slider, the value in the cell is always numeric, and is always placed on the chart if that cell is included in the range graphed by the chart.
But if you use a pop-up menu cell, you can specify numeric or text values in the list of choices for in the menu. Numeric values will be shown on the chart. Text values will not.
For the example, the values list for the pop-up menu was:

1
Choose
-1
-3
-5
The first pop-up was set to display Choose, then the cell was filled down the rest of the column. Any text value (including a single space, if you want the cell to appear blank) may be used instead of Choose.
For charts with negative Y values, the X axis will not automatically appear at Y=0. If your value set will include negative values, I would suggest setting the Y axis maximum and minimum to the maximum and minimum values on your menu list, rather than letting Numbers decide what range to include on the chart. Place a line shape across the chart at the zero level, and choose to NOT show the X axis.

Making the x-axis intersect y-axis at zero

I think this is probably a simple question but couldn't find it answered anywhere. Basically I have some data I want to plot on a graph which has some of the 'y values' as negative. I have tried to make a scatter chart which works, but it puts the x-axis at the bottom, rather than it still intersecting the y-axis at zero which is what I want. Seems like it should be simple as I guess this is a common request but I couldn't work out how to do it.

The closest I've been able to come is to not show the X-axis, show Y-axis grid lines, then choose 1 step for the Y-axis increments. The X-scale still remains at the bottom of the chart, though.

Hi,
Basically you are trying to convert a date into date which is not advisable. Hence convert it to char and then equate it against a character value. Also do not use trunc as it will trim out the time part of the date.

I wanted to use time series line in my analysis but I couldn't get What kind of data is required for this graph? It shows inappropriate data for continuous time axis. I had total amountmin vertical axis and time(year) in horizontal axis.

Want a constant time axis in waveform chart

my time axis in waveform chart is changing .how can i keep it constant say 1-100 .the whole point of this is to make waveform chart luk like a CRO.please need help.

I don't think what you're asking for is possible, due to the nature of the chart - it accepts Y values and inserts the X value automatically. Offhand, I can think of 3 solutions -
The bad one - constantly change the offset by moving it backwords. You will probably have flickering.
The workaround one - Paste a text box over the first number saying 1 and another over the second number saying 100.
The probably most correct one - Use a XY graph. Just have a 1D array of 100 elements and append it to a second 1D array with 1..100. Wire the 2D array into the graph terminal.

I would like to change my X-axis (time axis) values of graduation. I want to make a numeric operation with each graduation.
For example, now I have got all my graduation from 0 to 0,05 and I want them from 0 to the result of 0,05 / 2E-5. I want to make this operation over all graduation, since when I will zoom on the graph, the scale must be adapted with the operation.

You may use Proprety Nodes to set axis format in your program. Right click on your graph terminal and select Create >> Proprety Node. It initially has one terminal (Visible by default), and you can set the proprety or get the current state of the proprety.
You can modify the proprety your program will use by right clicking on th terminal and select the proprety you need.
I think you will find all you need in Proprety >> Scale >> Range.
To modify the read/write mode of the terminal, right clik on it and select Change To Read or Change To Write.

3D Graph X Axis positioning of bar

Hi, I have a 3D Graph X Axis location problem where the bar that is plotted gets stuck between two adjacent gridlines with the same label. I simply think the graph should be sticking the bar on the line that it is plotting it for. I.E> if the x value is 1, I want the graph to display it as being on the "1" grdiline for the x axis. Please help...

Thanks, I think I see the issue here now. there are 2 of them. One is that I have the x axis formatted only to show the whole number and not any decimal values thereafter. Once set to show these, it is evident that the x axis values are not 2 and 2 respectively but 2.4 and 2.6.
I also see the tick marks appear to have to be set differeent every time depending on the data that comes into the graph in order to get a good display grid. It appears that you operate in one of two different grid display modes - manual where you set the max, min and tick counts or auto where WYSIWYG.
Seems like the way to go is to autoscale, then read the max and min values and create a VI to calculate the major and minor tick marks based on the full axis range. Does this sound like the way to you?

Time axis is empty

Hi! I've always been using TM without any problem, but now I can't find a solution to this strange behavior. Some days ago I tried to enter TM to see my backups, but I noticed that no backup was available, or more precisely the axis contained only "Now". No older backup. Browsing the content showed various folders, but nothing could be opened (it kept saying the item was deleted). Anyway, I erased the partition and started again from the beginning my backups. 30GBs were transferred to the disk, folders were in the partition, but still entering TM showed a time axis with only "Now". No backup is available. Tried again the same, but still, after many backups, I can only see "Now" and all the windows beside the one in front are black. No way to have any backup even if data are transferred to the disk. Any idea what could be wrong?

Good - now we know where to look!
We've already covered whether you're starting from something like an empty desktop, or a Finder window pointed to something else that's empty or wasn't backed-up. But be sure you start from somewhere that shows those Documents.
If still no help, try exiting from TM, then immediately going back exactly as before. This happens occasionally, but your problem seems more consistent.
If that doesn't help, try the things in #E4 of the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
It seems the first backup, which is 40GBs in the disk, is reported to be 0bytes in TimeTracker.
Yes, Time Tracker works by comparing the backup you select with the previous one, so the very first one can't be shown.
