Grapher 2.1: infinity is not infinity

Dear anyone who can help me with this?
When I enter a integral function:
y=integral_0^5 dx(e^{-x})
into Grapher, it plots a straight horizontal line close to y=1.
As the upper limit going down, the line honestly moves close to y=0.
However, if I enter the upper limit to infinity, something weird happens.
It becomes a line y=0.75
Anyone know what is going on here?

BTW, I also notice something wrong in this integral function:
On the above integration limit, one can type up to 23948.09556723854 and still get a proper line close to y=1. But, if you enter any number greater than 23948.09556723854, the function draw y=0 instead.

After some email conversation with Yves, he has got me answers that I am not fully satisfied but convinced. I have to thank Yves for the answer to this thread. Thanks to baltwo for redirecting me to Yves too.
The answer is basically on the algorithm Grapher uses for the integration. I one goes to the preferences, he/she will find the "Integration" section in the "Advanced" section where the settings do all the fine tuning. The default method for integration is Romberg and it is likely the best.
As it is numerical integration, error cannot be avoided when the condition goes to extremes.
That's it.

I need to create some graphs in Crystal Reports. As folks review the report graphs, they want to make notes about certain data points on the graph. They would like to save their notes for future reviewing of graph data.
I called Business Objects sales and told them what I need to to do. C
1) Create a Crystal Report
2) Create a graph
3) Be able to have someone click on a data point in the graph
4) Make a note
5) Save that note for future reviews
The guy said I could do that but would have to use Crystal Xcelsius. I have used Crystal Reports for years, but have never used Xcelsius.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to create to meet the above requirements?

You would need to have the Xcelsius program in order to create your own SWF files. The program is much simpler to use than Crystal Reports.
Your scenario could not be met exactly, but you could set up the model for end users to write notes.
In Xcelsius, there are two Text components that permit end users to write notes: Input Text (two types) and Input Text Area. The last gives more space to enter information.

Microsoft didn't include that with the 2011 version.
There is a third-party application that substitutes for the add-in: http://www.analystsoft.com/en/products/statplusmac/
They also have a limited, free version.

3d graph fill to -infinity?

In a 2D graph, I am using the feature "fill to -infinity" on a plot to fill in the area under the line. Now, I want to have several plots and plot them in 3D, with the 3rd dimension being the plot number. I'm running into a problem though... I can't find an equivalent for "fill to -infinity" with the 3D Curve graph.
Any suggestions?

If this is the kind of graph you want to build, just add Z values lower than the lowest Z scale value to your data.

Error from reports from ZAM(Graph or PDF) - File does not begin with '%PDF-'.

I just noticed today that any Graph or PDF report I try to view I get the
following error - Error from reports from ZAM - File does not begin with
'%PDF-'. I tried to just save the file and then open it, but get the same
error. I can open other pdf files I have downloaded from other sites ok.
Anyone have any idea? I haven't done anything to that server that I am
aware of in quite a while.

I took a closer look at the files it downloaded, opened them with notepad,
haer is what it says:

Xy graph in PDA module does not plot points or update

The XY Graph for PDA does not plot points or update. Input data is simple cluster of floating point data (x,y)in while structure. The axes scale properly with Configure PDA XY Scales.vi. Cursor legend also OK. Checked line and point attributes-OK. Running 7.0F1 and pocketPC2003. Please help.

Can you attach the VI so that we can see it? If you think it is a bug in the toolkit, rather than a programing thing I would suggest sending an e-mail to NI. In addition are you using eVT 3 or 4 or both?

A security comparison graph from Vanguard site does not print.

When I go to "File, Print Preview" the graph and legend does not appear. The text above and below the graph does show.
I believe the graph is produced using Adobe Flash. The graph prints fine when I use Internet Explorer.

Peformance graphs in IE8 on Win7 not displaying

Oracle 11 running on Redhat 5. Agents running. All seems ok on the server.
Windows 7 running IE8. I can connect to the database as sysdba using EM web page, Home screen displays properly.
Performance screen is mostly blank. All graphs not displaying. Screen shows a big empty box with a little picture in the upper left corner. Sort of like the standard "missing picture" web problem or maybe a missing plug-in.
IE8 is also displaying the URL in "pink" as a bad security certificate (I don't think this is related).
Computer network is not connected to the internet.
Any ideas about what is wrong or how I could figure out what is missing?

Screen shows a big empty box with a little picture in the upper left corner. Is flash player installed? Try installing it and I believe you also need the plugin and you need to connect machine to internet for auto install of plugin.

How can I make a waveform graph store the entire wave, not just the current time period and how can I save the actual graph?

I am taking temp readings with a 4 channel DAQ, sending them to a waveform graph and exporting the data to excel, how do I manipulate the graph to take a continuous reading as opposed to losing the previous GUI and how can I save the entire graph?
Using LabVIEW 2011 operating on Windows 7 professional.

That is the nature of the chart -- everything not in the history is lost (it is a FIFO buffer of length=1024 samples by default).
The scroll bar is probably grayed out because you're show all of the data.
Attached is a program that will add 5 random points to a graph and prompt you for a file location where to save a JPG snapshot of the graph. It's not particularly good programming style, but it has all of the elements/concepts you're after.

Xy graph active plot property settings not working

I set the xy graph plot properties manually and they appear to work. However, when I try to set them in the program they revert to the manual settings. What's going on?

I went to the graph and made plot legend visible and extended it from one plot to 3. That's all I did. Now it appears to be working properly. It's been a long while since I had to get really fancy with a graph but I don't remember having to do this. My memories of graph properties were that they were a little more dynamic.

Intenisty graph Z scale marker values not working

I have a VI that plots Intensity graph, I have assigned certain RGB values to the Z-scale markers. But all I see is green intensity chart always.

Please advice where can I go wrong in this one.

Strange thing is that all is showing white now. It was working petfect untill I put in a program that shows the mouse cursor for intensity values as long as I hover the mouse above the Intensity graph.
I am attachingn a VI so that you can see it for yourself. Also a test result that shows all values are almost same. In fact its supposed to be like sine wave. To get the actual values I will have to divide by 2^14 since my AD is 14 bit AD.
But I dont really know where am I going wrong.

Graph not loaded on navigating to another detail page

I've a splitapp consisting of a masterpage - MasterPage and two detail page - lineStatus & lineDetails.
there is a table in lineStatus page and a line graph in lineDetails page,
when one clicks on show graph in table user is navigated to lineDetails page.
The problem is that graph in lineDetails page is not visible, though <div> for graph is created.
If I load lineDetails page first(where the graph is), then everything works fine and graph is visible.

I use EBS r12, and i create report using XML and BI Publisher rtf file, this report include graph, the problem is when i add the graph according to xml data and run the report throw bi publisher desktop its work fine, but when i run it in concurrent it will show table data OK but graph data will not change according to XML data,

Why the graph in Labview does not plot when there is a different set of data collected

I need help from you guys as I faced a problem with my Labview program. Actually, what I am trying to do with the labview program is that I will be collecting data of different days and use them to plot graphs according to the date that i have set in my program. However, my graph fails to plot whenever there is a change in date, it remains at the first graph that is being plot at the start of the program. I have tried to look through the whole process and found out that actually the execution of my graph in the program is not completed which might cause this program. Therefore, I hope that you guys can help by taking looking through my program which has been attached and tell me the solutions if any! I really appreciate your help! It is a winrar file, extract them and open the AMK_solar monitoring system(stack).vi

Found deep in your subVIs. You can work on timestamps as numbers, no conversion to/from string needed...
This contains 3 unneccessary locals and a race condition resulting from overuse of locals...

Why is Grapher playing my videos, not Quicktime?

I have downloaded Quicktime twice, but my laptop keeps ignoring it and using grapher to play my videos, not very well, it's very frustrating. How can I disable Grapher and make Quicktime my default again? Thanks

Select one of the videos in the Finder and open the Info window. Set it to be opened with QuickTime Player, then click the Change All button.
