Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't.
Based on the product specs for your notebook, here is the link to the graphics driver you need to reinstall...

  • How do I enable TPM in the bios on Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

    Hi,
I have run into a problem trying to enable MS Bitlocker on Windows 8.1 on
Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC
    BIOS version is: F.1C
In the Windows UI, the TPM (Trusted Computing Module) management console says that I need to enable TPM in the BIOS.
    Issue:
There does not appear to be any proverbial "on" switch in the BIOS for TPM versions 1.2 (or 2).
    Question:
Anyone out there know how to resolve this?
I know there may be a way to get around this using group policy on the machine or to buy a USB key solution.
Looking for the hardware solution in the laptop if possible please.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi:
As far as I am aware, HP consumer notebooks do not have a Trusted Platform Module chip.
Check the device manager...if there is a TPM chip, there will be a Security Devices category in the device manager, and you would see the TPM chip listed under that category.
If not, then there isn't one.

  • Product name: HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC Issue- No sound

Product name: HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC
    Product number: F9T46EA#ABU
    Hi ,
I have no sound on my computer, beside the speaker symbol in the toolbar is a red 'x'. When I press this it says detecting problems and then it says- 'Problem - one or more audio services isn't running' and then 'not fixed' beside that.
I investigated to see which audio service it was that wasn't functioning and it turns out that Windows Audio Service  is failing to run.
How do I resolve this problem?

    Hi,
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Properties.  Click the Driver tab and then click 'Update driver'.  Select 'Browse my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.  Left click 'High Definition Audio Device' once to highlight it and then click the Next button to install it.
    Has this made any difference?

  • Product name: HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC.......NO sound in watchdogs game

    sir,
i recently buy a new pavilion laptop...and now i install the game called "watch dogs" it works good but without any sound....i do my best in incrasing volumes and etc.....but nothing will hapen,so please help me....and this game work well in my friend same model laptop,
                                                                                                            thanyou....

Hello @loguprasath, welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you're having an issue with sound in watchdogs. I will try to help you with this.
To start off, I have a few questions.
What's the currently installed operating system?
What are the model and product numbers?
Does the sound work in other applications on the notebook?
I'd recommend making sure all Windows updates have been completed. After that you can update the auto driver with the HP Support Assistant on the notebook.
Make sure you've tested other programs/applications to see if the sound is working at all.
I look forward to your reply.
Thank you for posting on the HP forums.

If you are running Windows 8 and you are using a flash drive that has the Windows 8 compatibility icon that could very likely be the problem. It is a known issue and last I heard on it HP is working on a patch/update for Recovery Manager. If it has been released it should be on your driver page. If not I suggest trying an older flash drive with no Win 8 compatibilty icon.

    Restoring the BIOS
If it is blinking 3 times it usually indicates memory issue..So you can try reseating the memory modules or try one memory at a time in each slot..

  • HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook, LED Error Code blinks everlasting

    Hi
When I turn on my Pavilion dv4 Notbook the screen is black, the powersupply LED stays on, the Wifi LED is orange, Speaker LED is orange too and the volume adjustment LED is white.
The LED's near capslock and numlock blink. There is this  site with several different LED error codes from 1 to 6 blinks. But mine blinks forever without stopping once it has started.
What does this mean and how can I fix it?
    Thanks, John

    Hello again trishjax,
Thank you for the update on your issue is has helped. I agree with you based on what you just posted it definitely sounds like something has broken loose of the solder on your computer. The only thing I can suggest is you either  contact HP Technical Support for repair options, or go to a local computer repair shop and have it looked at. If it is a hardware issue this is really your only option if you do not know how to do it yourself.
I know it was not the answer you were looking for, but I believe it will help you with your issue. I would like to thank you again for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

    Sir,
The recovery disk that was prepared for my Laptop has been corrupted and is not functioning. The laptop shows an error message as 'BOOTMGR.EXE is missing'. Whenever I use the disk, it starts off well but it stops after 13% of the installation is done. There is no recovery partition in my laptop as it was deleted after the recovery disk was burned.
All this started when I wished to format my Laptop and reinstall the operating system.
I donot wish to install any operating system other than my original supported WINDOWS 7 HOME BASIC. So, if you could send me a recovery disk of the same, it will be very helpful. Any other details required shall be provided.

    Hi Rammi,

I grasp that when playing video you have picture but not sound and you get the error message that the device is being used by another application. Please close the any  applications using this device and try again.
I suggest you try these steps to start with.
Press the Windows key + C to open charms
Type Control Panel in the search bar and open it
Go to Sound and open it
select speakers and headphones and  open
    click on the advance tab
change the sample rate and bit depth to the lowest settings  and click OK.
Try playing your video again. If this works you can go back and try a higher settings until the issue returns and then leave it set on the one just below that.
If you are still having an issue, and it was working previously , do a restore back to when it was working.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
You could also try reinstalling the original drivers using the recovery manager Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8)
If your issue still persists I would try the following steps.
Boot into safe mode and try playing the video do you have the same issue?
    Windows 8 Safe Mode.
If the issue is not present, then it would appear there is a conflict that needs to be addressed.
Using Microsoft System Configuration (Windows 8)
In the instructions it will advise you to enable items one at a time. This could prove to be very time consuming, so I suggest doing a 50/50 process and then start narrowing down to locate the issue.  This should save you some time.
    I hope this has helped.

I understand that you are unable to play Blue ray disks in the Envy15 15k012tx Samsung  player, you get a message that "the graphic driver is incompatible."
When I went to the specifications page for your notebook I noticed the recommend driver is a different versions then the one you have installed.  HP does not support drivers from the manufacturer's site as they are untested in your system and the results are unknown. That it not to say they will not work only that it is unknown.
Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers
First are all your Windows updates done?
Here is a link to HP ENVY 15-k012tx Notebook PC Drivers.
Please ensure you have done all the HP updates.
I would suggest deleting the Intel driver.
Then restart your notebook and download and install the recommended driver from the download page.

  • HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook- CD/DVD no longer works.

    Windows 7 64-bit

Uninstalled & Reinstalled drivers- still not working

    Hi,
First, try the automated fixit from Microsoft on the link below.
    Windows 7
Check if the drive is now working.
If the drive still doesn’t work correctly, click the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager.  Next click to open DVD/CD-ROM Drives.  Right click the drive and select uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.  When the device has uninstalled click on the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon ( usually just below Help on the toolbar ).  Let windows reinstall the drive and see if it now works.
