Graphic card problems after last flash player update

Hi,
since the last Adobe Flash Player my computer repeatedly either reboots itself, turns the screen black or crashes completely, giving a blue screen error message saying there is a problem with the ati2dvag.dll graphics driver, causing the graphic card to be in an infinite loop. Neither updating the graphics drivers nor deactivating the hardware acceleration solves the problem. Since we have the same problem on a second computer with identical hardware, I suppose it must be a software problem.
I´m using a Intel Core2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2,66 GHz with 2 GB RAM. The graphic card is a ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro. Operating system is Windows XP SP3
Is this a familiar problem and can anybody suggest any solution?
Thx

Hi, I found the file but I'm still not sure what really happend.
First I followed a brodys advices (thanks!). Different was, that the flash player download looked really like the original from Adobe. It simply appeared as an update request as som many others as well. What I want to say is that I didn't go to a web site and downloaded it. In fact I think it was the original and everything was a coincidence.
The Mac OS version I run on the MacBook is 10.7.4! Nevertheless I installed the flashback trojan patch. But nothing happend.
With the remaining 300 Mb of diskspace I could operate at least a little.
There are three users on this macbook.
I logged in each of the user and found that in my daugther uses 160 GB. I found a file MOV_6007.AVI with a size of 148GB sitting in the recovered picture structure of the iphoto library.
My daugther told me that she was downloading movies from a dropbox folder and then she imported them into iphoto. She did it using the finder, selecting them and dropped them onto the iphoto icon in the dock.
Whatever happend later I have no idea. The Macbook was running during the night. The next morning I used it to read news and at this time I accepted the adobe flash upgrade.
In the system log files I found an entry that showed I had about 8GB of disk space free at this time. It should have been about 160GB. So somehow this file grew already that much during the night.
And it obviously grew further until I got the disk full message minutes later.
It is scary! So what I did now is delete the file and it seems the Macbook is ok again.
I wanted to tell this long story as it is probably something new and somebody else had a similar issue already.

Macbook Pro eligible for replacement through Apple program.
Submitted my computer 2 days before program came into effect.
They replaced card or logic board with same original model: AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB
Issued me a refund check for my repair.
Seems to have some noticeable issues, fan running more than usual again, and temporary graphic lines,
but disappear too fast before a screen dump...
Is anyone who has participated in the replacement program received a different graphic card for
Model Macbook Pro 17" (late 2011)
    Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately I have yet to call AppleCare because I am on a project for 3 weeks and cannot be without my laptop during that period....
Until that time I am trying to figure out what I can do to protect the Palm Rest/Mouse Pad area of my Macbook once they either fix it or give me a new one. Has anyone had any experience with either of these products that can provide some input as to whether they are good or bad?

  • After installing Flash player updates, Recently Closed Windows in History menu lost

    Hi Friends,
This is just an annoying problem, not really serious, I guess. Whenever I download and install Flash Player updates, History > Recently Closed Tabs, and History > Recently Closed Windows, are wiped out.
This is a problem for me, because when I log on to my computer every morning, I use History > Restore Previous Session, to get back all the tabs I had open the night before. And often also Recently closed Windows, if I had a 2nd and/or 3rd Ff window open last night. After I install Flash Player, the previous session becomes the Adobe update site. I think I can avoid losing the previous session, by making sure I open my previous session before I start the download and installation.
(I don't use fully automatic updates for Flash. I have the system alert me when it's ready, and then the next time I log on to the internet, the download popup window appears. I don't know why it waits until the next time I log on, instead of right after I click ok (and also ok on Spybot S&D and WinPatrol alerts). And I know you can't provide support for that part. But just to let you know all the relevant info :-) .)
So normally, if I've done something to lose my previous session (with all my usual tabs) (usually when I'm in a hurry and don't notice that I've opened Ff without restoring previous session) I can still get that session because it shows up in Recently Closed Windows.
But after I install the Flash update, Recently Closed Windows (and Recently closed Tabs) are both wiped out.
I'm hoping someone can sort this out, and I can just change some setting somewhere, to prevent this. Or maybe like the previous session, and remembering to open it, before I start the dl, it might just be a matter or altering my habits. I can't think of any habit changing that would work though. So that's why I'm asking all you wise Ff users :-) Hopefully it's not a bug?
Thank you very much for any insight, comments or suggestions :-D
    All best.

hello, this problem happens since the adobe installer triggers the opening of a browser window once the update is finished, which then overwrites the last session...
you could try if adding ''SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1'' to the adobe mms.cfg configuration file addresses that issue, as described here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/administration-configure-auto-update-notification.html

  • Problems after installing Flash Player 11

    OS: WIN XP 32 bit
    Browser: IE 8 32 bit
After sucessfully uninstalling previous version, and downloading latest version of Flash Player 11, computer freezes up and shuts down when trying to stream video clip, incuding clips that sucessfully played on previous version. Spent numerous hours going through Adobe's FAQs and trying mutiple suggestions with no success. To keep machine running, performed System Restore to pre Flash Player 11 condition. Please help.
    Thanks.

I chose to pass on the Hardware acceleration suggestion, and find a more permanent solution.
After another late night of working the issue, problem solved!  Flash Player 11 up and running with no problems.
    1. System restore to a point prior to downloading Flash 11 for the first time.
    2. Virus, Spyware and Malware scans.
    3. Clean Registry
    4. Windows update and Antivirus update
    5. Clean registry
    6. Download latest driver for video card
    7. Windows update and Antivirus update
    8. Clean registry
    9. Uninstall Flash Player 10 / Install Flash Player 11
Note: Though I received confirmation of successful download before, the confirmation page this time had a completely different look. It proved to be a good sign.
    10.Windows update and Antivirus update
    11.Clean registry
Flash Player working with no problems thus far.  Good Luck, and hope this info helps some.

    Hey @jdudleyjones ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the card reader for your notebook is no longer working after updating to Windows 8.1.
You're probably right that it's a driver issue, however just like you I don't know which card reader you're using either.
Can you please tell me which notebook you have? For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
It would also help if you could tell me the Hardware ID for the card reader. Here's how you find it:
    Press Windows Key + X
    Click Device Manager
Click View at the top and select Show hidden devices.
You will most likely find the card reader listed under Other devices as an Unknown device.
Right click on it and select Properties.
    Select the Details tab.
Change the drop down menu to Hardware Ids.
Note down the first ID in the list (as you'll see they're all pretty much the same regarding the Ven_ and Dev_ numbers which is all I need).
Once you've provided this info I should be able to find the drivers for you.
Look forward to hearing back from you!
Please click the "Kudos, Thumbs Up" at the bottom of this post if you want to say "Thanks" for helping!
Please click "Accept as Solution" if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

  • ISight Not Working After Adobe Flash Player Update

I went on Chatroulette and the website said I needed to update my flash player. So I did. However, after I did, iSight does not work now on the internet. When it's selected as the video source, it just shows a ManyCam logo, which ManyCam has been deleted off my computer a long time ago, so I am unsure why. I can't get any video feed to work. iSight does work for Photoshop and FaceTime. How can I get iSight to work again?

If it doesn't work on a particular web site but functions properly everywhere else then suspect that the web site has a problem not you.

  • Startup disk full after Adobe Flash player update

I received an update request for a new version of the Adobe Flash player this morning. I accepted it and the installation seemed to work fine. The only special was that the last 5% of the installation took some minutes to install.
Minutes later the system (MAC OS Lion) sent a warning that my startup disk is nearly full. The disk had about 150GB free disk space. When I checked it with the finder my disk space was about 350 MB and declining. I disconnected the MacBook from the internet and the the declining of the available disk size stopped.
If I check the disk information (using the finder) of the harddrive and it showed only 350MB as free. If I check the size of the folders on the top layer and add them together I should still have about 150GB of free disk space.
Did somebody have the same problem? What can I do now?

  • Problems with Adobe Flash Player Update.

    Hello volks,
I got a question. What can I do, when I get the window: Adobe Flash PlayerUpdate Service 11.6 r 602 does not work. Wait till you get information that the problem is fixt.? But nothing happens. Please help me. Till then thanks. Doris

It's really strange that Safari is showing as being active when you've definitely exited.  I'm thinking that you have an application with an embedded Safari instance running, and it's invoking Flash Player.  Not sure what that would be off the top of my head, but it's the only legitimate reason I can think of for the Safari process to be resident and keeping Flash in-use.
Here's what I think our best bet is for getting past this:
    Download the uninstaller:
Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS
Download the offline installer here, if you don't already have it:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player_osx. dmg
Restart the machine in Safe Mode.  Just choose Apple > Restart, then hold shift down until the machine starts booting.  If you did it right, you'll get a loading bar, and it will take an obnoxiously long time to restart.  If it comes back up like normal, try again and hold shift longer.
Run the offline installer.  You shouldn't hit any conflicting processes this time.  Run the uninstaller.  Once it's complete, run the installer.
    Reboot your machine.

  • No Audio after latest Flash Player Update

My System is windows 7 Home premium 32bit. After i downloaded the latest update I do no longer have sound in internet explorer 9 AND google chrome.
wmp still works.Downloaded all the latest drivers, I have tried everything that was suggested here:
    http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm
    also no inflicting tools.
At the directory System32/macromed/flash there is:
    the map FlashplayerTrust
    Flash10q.ocx
    Flash10r.ocx
    FlashInstall.log
    FlashUtil10q_ActiveX.dll and .exe
    FlashUtil10r_ActiveX.dll and .exe
I guess there's something wrong with the registers but I really tried everything that is suggested in relation to that matter.

    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    Flash10r.ocx
    FlashInstall.log
    FlashUtil10r_ActiveX.dll and .exe
    Still no sound
I've also noticed that in Sound mixer, the option to control the sound of internetaplications is gone. So maybe it's just that simple that it's on mute but i can Neither see nor change this setting.
In my search to fix this I've seen a lot of posts from people with similar problems but they never got a solution.

  • Problems after flash player update with firefox

I have problems with video streaming on firefox after the flash player updated to 11.7. The video plays but the audio suddenly stops while the video continues to play but will also  stop after a few seconds. Does anyone know what may cause this problem?

    Hello,
Flash Player installs to the Windows directory that standard user accounts do not have access to, therefore, Admin access is required for installation.

  • Crashes after updating last Flash Player version :(

I've updated  my Acer 7720G with Nvidia GeForce 9300m G and W7 64 bit  (Firefox) with last Flash Player's version: when i closed video (played with Flash), Flash Player and video card's drivers, both, crashed. Till I don't use command bottons it works perfectly, but if I use a botton like "pause", or "rewind", or "close all the windows", etc. they crash.  Then the only solution is reinstalling Windows because it's like Flash Player modifies basic impostation of video card: infact also the bios screen doesn't work with notebook's display, but only with an external screen (even if I try to do the things you suggested in the forum). If I reinstall W7 the  video card works on the notebook's display too, but the problem  reappears just reinstall Flash Player (after playing a video like I said before). What should I do? May you help me, please? Thank You

    Chris,
I removed all of the remaining files from the directories mentioned in your clean install instructions. There was nothing left that I can tell, but the update must have added / removed / changed a system file or registry entry for me not to be able to get this working properly again. As I mentioned, I did a controlled test to see if the upgrade would make the site fail, and it did, I just can't reverse the upgrade. I can still access my Flash Website properly from my Android Phone.
    My website is http://deltastorm.org/
The Introduction loads fine, but as soon as you click on the "Home Page", I get a Black Screen in FireFox and Explorer, and in Chrome the site just freezes.
If you have an older version Flash Player still installed on one of your systems (not downgraded - does not work) you will be able to see the site functioning properly the way it has for several years.

  • Audio and video problem when streaming after flash player update

After i updated to the latest flash player (11.7) I have problems with video streaming. The video plays but after a while the audio stops and the video will keep playing but will also stop after a few seconds. Is the new flash player update at fault?

hello volden, your system details list two versions of the flash plugin (Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700 & Shockwave Flash 11.6 r602) as being installed in firefox, which can lead to problems.
please try to use the [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html flash uninstaller provided by adobe] to remove both versions and afterwards only install the current plugin from https://www.adobe.com/go/getflash

  • Problems viewing videos and trailers after the lastest Flash Player update

I have Windows 7 - 64 bit, I use Firefox 11 (latest version) and Chrome (latest version); however, since I have installed the latest Flash Player update, I cannot view any trailers or some videos.  Youtube works fine, but other sites dont (I just get a green screen).  Please can someone assist me?  I have tried the "Help" section for Flash Player and it hasn't been too helpful.
    Thanks in advance!
Ok, I found the problem, my hardware acceleration was set to enabled, once I disabled it, I had no problems viewing any of my sights that used Flash.

You might want to update your driver, particularly if you have an NVidia GPU.  Here's a post where we describe this process and ask for additional details so we can resolve this for others.
