Graphic Card upgrade HP Pavilion Slimlines3420f
Hey I have a hp pavilion slimline s3420f, and I've graphic problems with games like Resident evil 5, so I want to upgrade the graphic card, but I just dont know which one to buy. I know that I need a low profile one, but I ignore any other specifications.
thanks
Hi,
The main problem you are going to face is your PC only has a 160W Power Supply Unit. Without upgrading your PSU, you will struggle to find any card that will improve your graphics capability.
Best wishes,

Is it possible to upgrade/add a graphics card to a Pavilion dv7-7000 laptop?
I've been doing a lot of research lately, to mostly no avail, about whether or not my HP Pavilion dv7-7025dx laptop can have a dedicated GPU added to it, as currently it only has the integrated Intel HD 4000 Mobile graphics card.
Mostly I've come across the unfortunate agreement that most laptops cannot have their graphics cards upgraded/swapped out, since the graphics card is soldered on to the motherboard. However, after talking to an HP "support representative", they said they believed it was possible to add a graphics card, as long as it is compatible with the HM77 45W UMA Motherboard my computer has.
Furthermore, after finding the maitenence and service manual online for my computer ( http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03221579.pdf ) it says that it could have come with switchable graphics, specifically the Nvidia Geforce 630M or 650M.
So I am wondering, is it really at all possible to add a dedicated graphics card, either by having switchable graphics or something else? Or am I stuck with the integrated Intel HD graphics?
If I can upgrade/add a new card, where would I be able to find/buy a compatible one, and would I be able to install it myself or would I need to go to a local computer repair?
My laptop is the HP Pavilion dv7-7025dx Entertainment Notebook.
It has an Intel Core i7- 3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz, 8GB memory, 750GB hard drive (5400 rpm).
I am currently running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit).
Any other specifications can be found here:

Hi,
You can't add a dedicated graphics card to the system like this. The vga is soldered to the board so no way you can just plug it in like on a desktop. However, you can buy a new motherboard with the dedicated graphics card on it. It also requires a new heat sink.
Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03221579.pdf
You need a 682040-001 board plus 682061-001 heat sink to have a dedicated graphics card on your laptop. Have a look on ebay for the part numbers.

Hp pavilion graphics card upgrade
Can anyone help please? I am trying to replace the graphics card on my Pavilion 500 PC series desktop, I have installed a new Corsair 500 w pus, and everything works fine. I then try to install an (old) GeForce GTS 450 card, and my PC just 'beeps' constantly until I switch off the power. I believe the card is fitted correctly, and I have attached power to it from the new psu.
This question was solved.
View Solution. It should have worked, but the problem may be that because the motherboard's PCI Express slot is for Gen 2.0 cards that it has an issue with your old GeForce GTS 450 card being gen 1.0.
I would put in a PCIE Gen. 2.0 card. If it does not work, then you can return the card to the vendor.

Looking for Macbook Graphics Card Upgrade
Hey,
I recently saw a Graphics Card Upgrade Kit for a Macbook Pro and was wondering if Apple offers a Graphics Card Upgrade Kit for a Macbook.
Thanks,

Are you sure you saw one for the MacBook Pro and not the Mac Pro desktop tower? -

" This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
You need to restart your computer before the changes you made to this device will take effect."
What do i need to do to get this to work ?

The other HD Audio device is likely to be the Realtek ALC880 8-channel High Definition onboard sound. This is a bit of a decision point. If you plan on always using the AMD High definition Audio as your default ouput through an HD TV with HDMI out, then you can disable the Realtek HD audio device. Once that is done then restart the PC. Go to the Control panel and select sound, now sellect the AMD HDMI out and right-click and select it as the default. There should now be a green checkmark next to it. Now you can select Configure to test it.
Kind regards,

Slimline s5-1010 - HDMI graphics card upgrade, what graphics cards will work in slimline box? Cheap will do, under 100. Has 1 PCI Express x16, but the slot on back of pc looks about 2" too short for this?
Hi-
I think you will find there are more users of the ATI Radeon 9800 that DON'T have a 300w PSU, than those that do. It would leave out the majority of the G4 line if it were absolutely necessary. As I see it, it isn't absolutely necessary, and, it is also the ONLY higher end upgrade graphics card commercially produced for 2x, 4x AGP systems, most of which, DON'T have a 300w PSU.
My Sawtooth has a 237w PSU, and the 9800, and my processor upgrade, and 2 internal drives, all work just fine!
As for the piggyback connection, that is how you connect the power to the 9800. A splitter molex cable is used to split power from the superdrive connection, between the superdrive and the 9800.

Hello, last year i bought a Gigabyte R9 270X 2GB OC graphics card, and it did not work after alot of tries and it just stays on a black screen(GPU Fans running) , so i gave up and it's sitting here collecting dust, can someone check if my PC can actually support this card? if yes, how can i get it to work? , if not, then what card can i use for 1080p 60FPS gaming.
also i forgot to mention that i got a CORSAIR VS550 Power Supply for the graphics card.
model: Hp Pavilion p6751isHi,
Contact Gigabyte for a remendy. The card may be defective or not compatible with your PC. I see a lot of "fan running" situations with graphics cards and that doesn't mean the card is good or compatible with your PC. Try clearing the CMOS and see if that helps.
Your statement about "60 FPS" is not technically qualified. There are many faster PCs compared to your PC and many can't run some games at 60 FPS.

Graphics card upgrade for HP Pavilion a1020n
Hi Everyone! I need to upgrade the Graphics card in my HP Pavilion a1020n for windows 7 Aero or windows 8. i need the graphics card to run Minecraft,Roblox,The Sims 3, Roller coaster tycoon 3, decently. Thanks
This question was solved.
View Solution. Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion a1020n Desktop Computer and it's PTGD-LA (Goldfish3) motherboard. According to the specs, your computer has no dedicated graphics card expansion slot. The only expansion slots available on this system are three traditional and/or conventional PCI slots. One of these slots currently contains a K56flex modem.
Here is a selection of PCI graphics cards that may meet your requirements. Please note that these cards may also require you to upgrade your power supply as well.

Upgrade graphic card for HP Pavilion p6-2105eo
I would like to upgrade the graphic card för HP Pavilion p6-2105eo.
Any suggestions?Hi,
Try one of the below MSI specific model graphics cards. They may or may not work in your PC but if they do then it's about the best that you can do without also replacing the power supply. These cards come with a switch to allow the card to work with legacy and UEFI mode BIOS PCs. Know what the return policy is before your PC.

HP Pavilion Elite PC Graphics Card upgrading questions.
Hi,
This is my computer http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/hp-pavilion-elite-e9220y/4505-3118_7-33777303.html, scroll down for the specs. Im a big pc gamer and the graphics card I currently have is good but im looking to push further and get a better one. Mainly looking to get a more powerful graphic card that is compatible with the processor I currently have. If anyone can list me better graphic cards that are compatible please list all of them intill I would need to upgrade my proccesor, Thank you.Your PC is spec'd with a 300 watt power supply. Unplug your PC and open it up. Read the label on the power supply. What is the total wattage and the 12+ volt amperage? Also, is the slot next to the video card (PCI-E x16 slot) open? The e9920y specifications and motherboard.
If your PC only has a 300 watt power supply, then depending on the 12+ volt amperage you have limited choices of video graphics cards without replacing the power supply. You probably can get the NVIDIA Geforce 220 GT to work but nothing faster. For a gamer, the GT 220 is not the best choice but it's faster than your ATI Radeon HD 4350. At this point, you will need to replace the power supply and install a new video card if your want something faster.
Review the ATI and NVIDIA performance specifications. Look at the memory bandwidth specifications and the DirectX level support.
How to replace a power supply.
How to replace a video card.
So where are you headed?

HP Pavilion A6603W Graphics card upgrading help.
Current Graphics card:
GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i (integrated into motherboard as a chip)
Power supply#: ATX-250-12Z-REV-D7R (250 Watts I believe?)
Computer Model: ( HP Pavilion A6603W)
Problem: Trying to figure out which is the best graphics card to upgrade with to keep up to date with the current games, such as : Battlefield, bad company 2, Just cause 2, Amnesia: Dark descent.
Now as for the power supply, I am sure Ill need to upgrade that as well. But I found a pretty reasonable one online at fry's electronics:
http://www.frys.com/product/5503410
But as for the graphics card, I am completely lost here at what I kind I can buy and not buy. most of my games require to have at least DirectX10 or higher, which my graphics card only supports DirectX 9. I have also seen that some graphics cards require power slots? I am completely new to this and I would like to have support from users.
Oh and by the way, the minimum I can spend is 250$
any suggestions?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
This question was solved.
View Solution.Salko, to play the games that you mention, you will need a good mid-level video card. I like XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order. The main thing to check is the length of the card. The newer cards that are 10" or longer may not fit in the space provided. With a PSU that is at least 500W, you have allot of choices.
The Antec PSU should be fine. However, I like OCZ and Corsair PSU's for superior clean, stable power. They are both enthusiast/gamer PSU manufacturers. Check Newegg for a PSU that has allot of reviews (read them) and is rated at least 4 eggs. This is a good indicator of the quality of the product from those who are using it.

The only problem you will have is the original PSU (only 300W and no six-pin PCIe power connectors). This upgrade will require a PSU upgrade to 400 Watt ot better,
