Graphic collection for a presentation of BW

Hello,
I look for diagrams / graphics for a presentation of the Business Warehouse. Can someone send which to me to [email protected] ? Or do I find diagrams somewhere on sap.com? Is there a finished collection?
Many greetings,
Alexander

Hi Alexander,
Download some of the relevant docs in https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/bi and copy the images.
Also search in http://service.sap.com/bi and download the relevant doc and copy the images.

I understand the charter on this is to "check-in" once every time the program is turned on, and then once every 6 hours after that, or, once every 24 hours presumably. But the phone-home-effect is over-stepping these basic parameters. If a user turns their browser off and then on, Firefox is still obligated to "check-in" even if it just checked in 3 minutes prior. If the coding is not pre-designed to overstep, or act excessively in a redundant focus, the instance of once every six hours or once every 24 hours, is still overmuch if a user has been doing this (non-voluntarily-participating) for 9 months or longer.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== This started when Firefox took up the initiative of "improving service. to end users" or similar idea, making the web safer for novice users, etcetera.

Opening question was truncated. Should read: "Firefox users cannot presently exercise choice, to opt-in or out of "data collected for improving services." As a result, Firefox is constantly dialing home, sometimes four times a day or more up to 48 times a day. There is some over-stepping and redundancy here. It would seem the practice of "improving service" has been accomplished with as much information as Mozilla has gathered in the last 6-18 months about its users habits. '''Isnt it about time to give users the option to opt out of that now that most the heavy liftiing has been accomplished?'''"

  • Graphics Card for Lightroom and also CS2 and Maybe CS3

Hi. I am still using a PC I build about 3 years ago with a ASUS P4PE mother board. It has been very good but I am wondering if it is best to now change to a later PC or, upgrade.
I have used 1GB Ram and just got another IGB to install, but my real concern is with the Graphics Card. At present I have a Matrox Millenium G550 which as I recall has just 32MB Ram. At the time this was considered one of the best, if not the best card for 2D Images. However, I now see 256 and 512 Ram cards as norm, but they always refer to being cards for games. I never have and never will wish to play any games on a PC. So advice needed please, what is considered the best Graphics Card for Photoshop CS2 and now Lightroom?
Incidently my Processor is just a P4 2.66 this has served me well so far, but!! I maywell get another PC but for now I feel I just want to try the best upgrades I can.
This is my first post here and look forward to your answers and advice.
    All the best, Ron dps.

The high-powered graphic processors being sold today are fantastic for games but offer zero improvement for digital photo editing. What you have is more than enough. Increasing your SDRAM to 2GB will help the most.

  • Passive graphics card for 2-monitor setup

I am looking for a graphics card for use with 2 monitors in a dual monitor configuration that has:
    Passive cooling
    1 x DVI port
    1 x DisplayPort
I'm aware that CS6 can  make use of some of the more advanced graphics card features, such as Open CL, but I don't understand the technicalities of this, nor what this implies when choosing a card.  I will not be doing any video-editing, video playback or gaming.
    My questions are:
Would a card such as the Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 Ultimate provide full support for CS6, without being overkill? (http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1088&pid=1240&psn=&lid= 1&leg=0)  -  I thought that the "low active power consumption and Dynamic Power Management" features seem a good idea, since the card will never be used very intensively.
Or would the much cheaper Zotac Synergy Edition GeForce GT 210 be just as good for my needs. (http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1088&pid=1240&psn=&lid= 1&leg=0)
Or are there other types of cards that would be more appropriate?
And finally, can you connect a single-link DVI device to a dual-link DVI port?  (If so, I would like the DVI port to be dual-link, for future compatibility.  If not, it will need to  be single-link, for my current hardware.)

For the benefit of anyone searching on this topic in the future, a posting of this question on Silent PC Review (http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=65413) yielded some extremely helpful responses.

infinality-bundle-fonts: a free multilingual font collection for Arch Linux
infinality-bundle-fonts is meant to be a complete, 'install-and-forget' solution for most (Arch) Linux users looking for easy access to common type-faces diversity needed to create and reproduce (hyper)text documents. It consists of freely available, hand-picked fonts providing correct, uniform and high quality rendering of multilingual content.

    Languages covered and special cases
Wikipedia was used as a reference when testing Latin and non-Latin linguistic scenarios and I believe that the majority of users should be satisfied with the results (the completeness, rendering quality, readability, clarity, coherence… you name it).
If in doubt, you can easily check which font family is used to display a particular script:
    [~] $ fc-match :lang=ja
    sawarabi-gothic-medium.ttf: "Sawarabi Gothic" "Medium"
Before you install a third-party font package, first check if it is already present in the infinality-bundle-fonts repository.
The default sans family is Noto Sans. However, in order to preserve the correct layout of certain web documents, Liberation Sans will remain the replacement for Arial. The width difference between the two could be problematic for certain websites prioritizing Arial/Helvetica over 'anything sans' (rather than 'anything serif'). Websites intentionally designed to use any sans font will select Noto Sans by default.
There is an extensive choice of available serif type-faces: the default is Heuristica, others include Crimson Text, Merriweather, TeX Gyre Termes, Gentium family, and more.
A few popular font packages available in the Arch Linux official repositories were re-packed in order to avoid rendering issues.
A few packages available in the AUR were re-packed for compatibility reasons.
You will be notified if a package you already have in your system should be replaced with a corresponding one from the infinality-bundle-fonts repository.  If this is the case, just hit 'Y' to accept and install the new one.
Additional font files can be found in infinality-bundle-fonts-extra group.  Some may be handy extensions for particular scripts (like 'ttf-dejavusans-yunati-*-ibx'), others are strictly optional and task specific.  The 'extra' group is expected to offer those few quality bits that users most often need to use but that do not belong to the main set. Suggestions are welcome. Note: 'extra' is not a place for 10 mono / sans / decorative type-faces, etc. This is technically impossible due to server bandwidth limits and practically against the usability principle that a well organized general purpose font collection should offer.
    Licensing
The files available in the infinality-bundle-fonts repository are freely available for download, redistribution, personal and/or commercial use. 95% of the fonts are licensed under the GPL, Apache or OFL license. The remaining 5% can still be freely distributed and used under certain conditions specified by the author and/or the foundry. Please, consult a particular license for details if a proper license matters to you.
    Sources and build scripts
All source files are available in the usual place:
    PKGBUILD
    Enjoy.

Thanks and can Best Buy install graphic cards for me?

It also depends on the voltage rails (12v and 5v I believe) If you have a weaker number, some of these cards can make toast of the computer in no time!

  • Suggestions for good presentation design?

I am currently using the default font size for title and subtext that comes with the dark blue gradient template.
1.) Are there any general guideline for good presentation design with regards to having titles take two lines of text?
2.) Are there any general guidelines for what the title font size should be? I am wondering if I should make the title font size smaller to fit more characters.
    Thanks!!!

I have been an prenter/instructor for many years, and +*Presentation Zen*+ by Garr Reynolds is absolutely the best reference on this topic.
Beware of using too much text on your slides. Less is, most certainly, more when it comes to engaging your audience and keeping their attention. Be liberal with the use of large graphics and keep it fun for everyone involved.

  • Best QT export option for laptop presentation

    Hi there,
I am experimenting with exporting options in hopes to get the highest quality output for a presentation I created in FCE2. This file is 1 hr/20 min. long. (The first hour is a looped slideshow). The graphics and photos used in this were all at square pixel value, 720x540. And again, the final product will be shown from a laptop...
When I export the entire sequence from FCE, do I do a self-contained movie or not? What are the best settings I can select in QT Pro? SHould I change the compressor settings to "Best" or stick with the default settings?
I really appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
    Karen

    Thanks Tom,
I'll give that a try. I am currently exporting the second segment of the video using the same method i listed earlier. (simply because it worked and i MUST have it done tonight). After it is finished, I plan to do the whole thing in ONE CHUNK using the settings you've given me - as long as I don't have further issues with that "render file."
So I am just curious, will there be any difference between these two types of export methods?
1- Export from FCE Quicktime Movie, self-contained, to desktop. Open in QT. Export using your dimensions of 640x480, "best quality."
    VS.
2- Export using QT conversion with the above dimensions.
Thanks! This has been such a learning experience for me. I'm so glad to be at the final phase! Just keeping my fingers crossed that this export goes well. You've been such a great help, thank you.

  • Using iMovie for a presentation?

I'm hoping to use iMovie 09 in dual screen mode for a presentation. The idea is that all my photos and video clips are lined up in the timeline on the 1 screen, which I select when I need them to play on the presentation screen. Unfortunately, as far as I can see, when I move my mouse over the Event or Project windows, it shows/previews that clip on the main screen. This problem isn't specific to the dual screen mode, it also does it when you're working with 1 screen. Is there a way to disable this feature so that I can use iMovie for my presentation?

.. .the thing with creating a folder and placing all my media in there, could you go into that in a bit more depth please? If that's an easy way of displaying the media on a second screen, I guess that would be the thing for me to do!
hmm, well, easy yes, but less convenient than usage of a designated presentation app. Keynote has some nice features .. but, I'm no Apple salesman.. here's the 'Russian techniqué' :
first, we have to collect the stills..
in Finder create a New Folder 'Presentation Stills' (or.. whatever), perhaps on Desktop.. (or anywhere, you like..)
if stills are NOT in iPhoto, COPY them (hold ctrl-key and drag 'n drop) from actual location into 'Pres_stills'
if stills are in iP, collect them in an album, Export >> into your Pres_Stills folder.
    2nd) same with movies..
    create Folder 'Pres_movs' ..
any existing movies get copied as stills
any iMovie Projects have to individually 'Export using QT' ..
3rd) connect 2nd monitor, goto System Prefs, choose etx. monitor as 'main screen' (=drag menu bar to that device)
    3.5th) Test!
.. perhaps, you have to adjust sizes etc ...
    4th) Showtime!
open both folders, drag to your Macbook's screen.
double click a still => Preview will open on main screen, showing still...
double click a mov => QTplayer will play on main screen.

  • Graphics Driver for HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC for Win 8.1

    Hello Everyone,
I currently have an HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 Quad Edition with intel i7 and switchable radeon HD graphics card . I have made the jump from Windows 7 to 8.1 as I am a Current University student studying Information technology and have the need to be updated in terms of technology. I found Win 8.1 to run a bit faster on my PC than Win 7. I have ran into a couple of problems when upgrading to 8.1.
1.) I've been having an issue finding the correct and stable Video Graphics driver for my Radeon HD 6770M switchable graphics. I tried intalling the original Win 7 driver in the HP driver but does not work properly. I have also tried download a generic driver from the AMD Radeon driver website, but the screen is extremly dim when intalled and is almost impossible to use unless I hold a lamp to the LCD screen. The brightness function keys DO get reconized when pressed, but the brighness will not change no matter how high or low the brightness threshold is at.
2.) It is a bit out of topic, but I have also been having alot of trouble getting the validity fingerprint sensor to work with Win 8.1.
I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with these issues or point me in the right direction in order to get them fixed. I am an IT student and have done alot of reasearch on these topics but have been unable to get them to work as intented.
P.S: I have read alot of fixes about brightness using regedit and edditing some values on specific registry entries. I have found them for many other pc manufacturers, but not for HP. Not an expert on registry stuff, but seems like many people get it fixed by doing so. Just an idea.

Due to the age of this model, HP is only providing drivers for Windows 7. After searching through the HP Forum, I was unable to find a satisfactory solution to your issue.

Hi, I would like to be guided through the correct driver installation for the in-built integrated graphics driver for my "Dell Latitude D620" Laptop PC which is running Windows 8.1 Pro (32-bit). By default, Windows 8.1 includes ans installs the
"Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver" to maintain compatibility with the OS. I would like to install the original and genuine graphics driver supplied by Dell Inc. (not by Microsoft) on Win 8.1, how can I achieve this? please
    help.

Yes, Dell will have better answer for this issue
Since this PC quite old, I suggest contact Dell

  • I am trying to Flash WinPc Graphics cards for my two QS Mac's

I am hoping that someone out there can help me with flashing a couple of win pc graphics cards for use in my 2 QS's.
I have been trying to use graphicelerator and atiacelerator from the known site, but all I get is a copy error -61, followed by Invalid Flasher! Make sure it's not locked or on a locked volume.
Now having checked my permissions I seem to have read and write on everything, is there anything I can do to prove this.
I have tried switching between the two machines, so I am remote logging into the other using VNC that all works ok, is there any permissions that need to be set up within the VNC as I checked the permissions on the desktop and it all seems to show read and write permissions?
I did try it out on a working graphic card for my machine and still got the same result.
    I am now lost

    Maybe someone here can help.
In spite of the site name, it is a Mac video card site.

  • I am considering using I Pad for a presentation and want to use it in a wireless environment and though a projector not a TV monitor. Can I use Apple TV and apple wireless base,

I am considering using I PAD for a presentation using a projector.  How can this be done.  will Apple TV connect to a projector and if so does the projector have to have an HDMI slot or is there some sort of adapter to convert VGA slot so it connects with Apple TV. I also want to do it wirelessly so does the Apple wireless device work for this purpose, is so what do I need to connect that to the Apple TV  and to projector.  So, ideally I want to be able to operate the IPAD without it being connected to cables and have the image procted on screen using a projector which only has the VGA slot not an HDMI slot. any suggestions will be appreciated.

It can use Apple Tv, but will require a wireless network as well. The Apple TV has an HDMI output, and depending on the projector it may connect directly to it through HDMI.
There are adpaters out there that will convert from HDMI to several other types such as VGA or Composite oir RGB. It would not be directly an Apple product as it would work with the HDMI cable rather than the apple TV or iPad directly.
    Basically your setup should be:
iPad  -> Wifi Network -> Apple TV-- HDMI Cable-->Adapter---->Projector
If the iPad is iPad 2 or above you can mirror the entire display to the projector through the apple Tv.
The Adapter would be something like this for instance:

    Or this:
    http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Component-Converter-Support-Surround/dp/B004F9XVBC
With that said there are projectors that can be used wirelessly from the ipad without the need for Apple Tv or any adapter.
Epson makes one and a proprietary App to use it.
