Graphic color

This is so frustrating.  I use to have this same problem when I used iWeb on my iMac and now a similar issue is happening both on my imac and my macbook.
I'm making a 3 fold brochure in Pages.  I've got it done except I'm putting a box of color around the graphics/photos/clip art I'm using.  Or at least I'm trying to.
I pick the graphic I want, go to the "graphic" thingy on inspector.  Choose "stroke" and then pick "line" and then double click on the color box below it.  I choose a color but it won't change from black no matter what color I choose.  I don't want black.  I've got 6 different graphics and I've managed to get 5 of them done, one at a time.  Meaning I can change only one, then I have to shut down pages AND reboot the computer.  Then it will allow me to change another ONE.
Well now all of this doesn't make a difference.  I've done all that and I can't change the last graphic line box to any color.  I've rebooted, cleared my java cache, did a disk permission repair and nope still can't change that last graphic.  I've deleted that graphic and put it back in.  I've tried a different graphic.  Nope.  Pages has just given up.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this to work again.  This color picker thing just *****, as I said the same thing happens in iWeb.  Grrrrr....
Help and thanks for any ideas!
Susan

While I'm not sure why you are having so many problems with you color picker, your statement "then double click the color box below..." makes me bellieve you are toggling the color picker then turning it off again with second clicck. To activate the color picker, SINGLE CLICK the color box. You will see the box become highlighted. While the color box is highlighted, select your color and note that the box now changes color and the line around your graphic should also change.
If that fails to work, select the graphic, then select View > Show Format Bar and then select the line and line color from the options on the Format Bar.
Good Luck.

  • Imported photoshop graphic - colors completely change in FCE!

    Hi,
I am trying to import a .psd graphic from photoshop. When I do this, the colors change dramatically. The green is a different shade and the black is orange!! How do i get my original image colors to appear? Also, when there is no background in photoshop, there is one in FCE. I don't want a backgound, just the object I am trying to import.
Anyone have any hints? I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Karen

What format are you working in? Are you using RGB? There will be some color discrepancy because you're converting the material to a different color space YCrCb used by digital video. If you have the current version of Photoshop there is an option to display the Photoshop file onto a video monitor with a suitable analog to digital converter, like a camcorder.
    All the best,
    Tom

  • PowerPoint 2010 Graphic color lost in Preview/Publish Captivate 7

I have a six slide build.  After import, all color in graphics look good except the fist slide in the build.  The color is lost - like a ghost graphic.  Imported in high fidelity for a clear image.  Tried saving the first graphic as a PNG and it seems compressed in size and appears to shift while slide advances.  Cause of the ghost graphic problem?  Any other solutions?  Thank you.

Nope - it's not Flash doing it.
    How it looks in PowerPoint:
And here it is in Captivate (one shot is from a preview, the other from the editor version:
Note in the lh case the overlapping text in the 2nd and 3rd bullets from the bottom.
In the rh example, the fx graphic has jumped to the left, also the 4th and 5th bullets are overwriting each other.
Please also note that the fx and tick/cross box works fine in the lh example, but not in the right.

  • Change graphic color programatically

How can I programatically change the color of a canvas grahpic?
    Thanks.

    Hi Robin,
I don't know why this works now, but I changed my test script to place the image in the script, then change the color and it works (which is more like the way I'm going to use it in production). With my first test I was trying to change the color of the tif file that I had manually placed on the page.
    Thanks,
    Archie
Below is test script that works.
    Rem ColorTest.vbs
    Set myInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS3")
    Set myDocument = MyInDesign.ActiveDocument
    myFile = "X:\SCANNED_ART\1659418-100.tif"
    Rem Get Color of Text
    Set myTextFrame = myDocument.textFrames.item("text")
    myTextContents = myTextFrame.Texts.Item(1).Contents
    myTextColor = myTextFrame.Texts.Item(1).fillColor
    Rem Place Graphic
    Set myGraphic = myDocument.Pages.Item(1).Place (myFile)
    Set myGraphic = myGraphic.Item(1)
    MsgBox "Graphic Placed"
    Rem Set Color
    myGraphic.fillColor = myDocument.Colors.Item(myTextColor)

  • I modified graphics colors and can't get back to a normal display

It does not help to try and delete Foxfire and re-download it. If I start Foxfire and then start Internet Explore, the bad color scheme is applied to Internet Explorer so the problem has to do with Foxfire load parameters.

Are you unable to use Firefox at the moment ?
Reinstalling Firefox will not solve the problem, because it tries to retain settings, but take care, you are in danger of loosing bookmarks and history if you are not careful.
The problem is easier to sort out with Firefox running. Do NOT use any delete settings option when uninstalling , not sure how it is worded - (at least until the profile has been successfully copied somewhere safe)
'''First step''' is to try starting firefox in [[safe mode]] but initially do not change any of the listed settings in the first window dialogue, just click the continue button.

  • Color printing help with large graphics Reader 11.0.3

Good morning!  We recently upgraded to 11.0.3.  Windows 7 64-bit.  We've had issues printing large color graphics from Reader 11.
For example, the PDF will have an intricate purple graphic with matching purple text blocks underneath.  Print preview shows correctly, but when printed the graphic prints brown instead of purple.  The purple text blocks print correctly.  This seems to happen sporadically, but seems to be with complex graphics.
Documents from all other apps print OK and if we open this .pdf from Acrobat X Standard and export it to a .png file the colors print correctly.
The graphic files come from a myriad of sources and customers and we don't have control over the way the documents are originally saved or what apps are used to create the artwork.
Any idea why the graphics colors aren't printing and if there are settings we can adjust in Reader 11 so they will print correctly?
    We've tried:
    - Printing to several printers with different drivers and all yield the same results.  (Toshiba eStudio 3530c with PCL6 and PS drivers, Epson Artisan 835, HP OfficeJet 8600, Samsung CLX-6200x)
    - Adjusting the Overprint Preview settings under File -> Preferences and setting "Simulate Overprinting" under the Advanced button in the print preview window.
    - Selecting "Print As Image" under the Advanced button in the print preview window.
    - Adjusting the Document Color Options under File -> Preferences -> Accessibility.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Fastest thing you can try: use Windows Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement.
If that doesn't work, you can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Changing colors

How can I change color of the text and background of components like Output Text, Buttons etc?

    Thank you guys.
However I have a few questions:
1.How do I know what visual attributes each component has? Where can I intutively know that, e.g. a button has a color, background-color and all the other visual attributes? - basically where is the documentation for all this?
    2. How come I cannot edit these colors thru a "Graphical" color editor? ( This is what I need in the first place - not editing text in the stylesheet etc..
    3. If the colors are refered to by names, where is the list of well known color names( constants?).
    4. How do I set colors which have very specific r-g-b values ? Obviously this cannot be specified by a named constant.
    5. How do I set the color to transparent? ( i.e. how do I control the alpha component of the color? )
This is also not possible using the only instance of graphical color editor I found ( to set the Background color of the Page ).
The fact that color goes into the style property as a text string invalidates Visual design time experience by making an obvious property non obvious ( How would I know the color goes in Style?) and making changing it non intuitive - I have to remember color names and constants instead of seeing and selecting.
I hope UI design team take a look at this in terms of design priciples and not just provide a workaround.

  • PDF book with graphics: large white stripes

Steps to get in the issue:
    1) Prepare a Book
    2) Focus on the background panel on the right
    3) Select the first wedding graphics (the one with centered graphics)
    4) Choose graphic color: white
    5) Choose opacity: 100% (...anything more than 50% makes the problem more visible)
    6) Choose background color: black
    7) export book to PDF
PROBLEM:  even if the pages appears as expected on the monitor (black background with white decorations), in PDF there are white large vertical stripes right over (boxing) the graphic decorations.
    Regards,
    Mauro

In view of the problems I’ve been experiencing with the graphics templates not uploading to Blurb, I tested this and got similar results (Windows Vista, Standard Landscape, Blurb Book)
Image 1 - Appearance in Book Module.
Image 2 - Appearance in Print.

  • Eye-dropper Color Picker not working

None of the PPro CS5 effects I've tried that use the Eye-dropper for color-picking (UltraKey, Color Key, Color Corrector, etc.) seem to work properly. When I click on the eyedropper, the cursor changes to the eye-dropper pointer, but when I drag this pointer over any part of the screen, the swatch in the effects controls seems to vary between different shades of gray - not the color that is under the pointer. Likewise, when I click over a color, only the shade of gray is picked.
Clicking on the swatch in the effect controls to bring up the graphic color picker works just fine. Furthermore, in After Effects CS5 and Photoshop CS5, all of the color eye-droppers I have tried work just fine. Seems to be isolated to Premiere Pro CS5. Never had this problem with CS4. Any ideas?
    PPro 5.0.1

    2 x 2.66 Dual Core

    Thanks!

    Hey all,
This thread has been really useful to me as I have the exact same problem.... My problem is I do not have a machine like yours, I'm running on the most basic 13 inch MacBook Pro so 2gb ram, and I think Nvidia GeForce 9400M, will need to check, I purchased it in November 2009.
Is there anything I can do?
    Cheers,

  • IWeb 08 - poor color management

Since updating from iWeb 06 to iWeb 08,
iWeb changed all my pictures on my webpages
making them darker. Nobody asked for that......
Seems iWeb cannot handle untagged RGB.
Anybody had the same problem or a solution?
    Cheers,
    Nikolaus

It's your good right to use any color profile you want ... but don't expect the result to be OK on every platform and browser.
Please consult for example http://www.gballard.net/psd/golive_pageprofile/embeddedJPEGprofiles.html and the much older http://www.w3.org/Graphics/Color/sRGB for more information.

  • How to save customized skin (via Intel graphics) from session to session

Hi-I'm a novice so hopefully there's an easy resolution. I've customized the Firefox theme using Intel HD graphics "color enhancement." Even though the coloring setting are saved via the Intel card, when I start a new Firefox session the theme reverts to the original shadings. I can change back to my customized theme by opening the Intel Control Center but I'd like to avoid that step.
Is there a way to keep my settings as default without fiddling with css editing which I'm too stupid to do? Thanks for any thoughts

Thanks for responding! It's a trivial issue but with OCD I can spend hour after hour trying to get things as I want them.
I found Flaminglow as a theme that was a bit unique. But I wanted the saturation, contrast, etc. altered, which I did with Intel graphics program that was pre-installed. I can save the color enhancement i.e. "a" scheme, "b", etc. with Intel. But when I restart the pc it reverts to the default colors of Flaminglow and I have to go to the Intel program and enter the saved scheme. I don't want to have to do that each time I turn the PC on. I've included a screenshot of the homepage and one of the Intel control center.
I thought that perhaps a session saving add on may work but just don't know. Make any sense, lol? Thanks

  • Freezing Screen with strange graphic bugs blackout computer crash & restarts

    Hi All,
I'm a videographer and editor and work with some high-ress video files and my iMac often falls out during work or if I'm running Adobe premiere and Photoshop at the same time. My iMac should handle it but it won't. It freezes and gives strange graphic colors and blocks on the screen. (see photo's)
Anyone knows how to fix this?

Your GPU may be failing, I would recommend Using Apple Diagnostics - Apple Support, run this 2-3 times and if erorrs appear take it in for service. If you have AppleCare call them immediately. If the machine is less than 1 year old, then PLEASE book a Genius appointment and bring the machine in to be looked at.
