Graphic Driver has stopped responding but recovered ERROR
I have had this issue since I put windows 7 on my s12.
Graphic card driver stops working, usually when coming from sleep or the screen saver. Usually the screen goes black for a few seconds, Now its worse and never restores, the maching must be forced shutdown and restarted.
The most recent drivers are installed. I will have to take care of this before the warranty is up.
Any experience with this sort of thing for the s12?
I found a newer driver on the Intel website
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 for Windows 7 32 bit* (.zip) Installs graphics driver version 15.12.75.50.5.2117 (8.14.10.2117) for the integrated graphics controller of Intel® chipsets for Windows 7*.
if you look at the driver history the problem is a known bug since 15.12.75.50.1.1972 revision. I also suffer from small corruption at the top of the screen when first booting. I'm going give it a try and report back.
Link to info: Release Notes and here is the link to Intel Graphics Driver incase someone else wants give it a go.
Intel 3150 Windows 7 Driver 7 8.14.10.2117
Edit Mod : Correct the Links/Click above to work
Update:
I installed the new drivers and still have the same problem. It's an Intel known issue and will just have to wait for a fix. I does happen less often.

Display driver has stopped responding but has recovered ....
I have just rebuilt my system which is now
Windows 7 (64 bit)
Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 (64 bit) ( open GL)disabled in preferences)
Core I7 950
graphics card Gianward nividia gtx 285
Photoshop is installed on OCZ vertex SSD
File info on Western digital caviar black
Mother board ASUS rampage gene
I print to 3 printers incuding an Epson 7900
I am not having any problems till it comes to printing my photos ..
When I print to any of the printers with "print preview " enabled I get the message "display driver has stopped responding but has recovered ...."
The Microsoft event ID = 4101
The screen goes black and remains so for a few seconds before it returns ...
Sometimes I am able to get the printer to go ahead and print... sometimes it wont and I have to start the whole print process again..
Needless to say this is irritating ..( by the way this happens with both of my Epson Printers ..the other is an 3880
I have just downloaded the latest drivers for both printers and the latest Nvidia drivers ... the problem remains
The ASUS probe indicates that all teperatures are within an acceptable range..
I would be most gratefull if some one could help with a solution ?It really depends on what drivers windows uses by default for you. On older versions (vista, xp, etc) it would default to Standard VGA driver which is there only for compatibility purposes so it's barely using the video card but if i remember correctly win7 tends to use drivers from ati/nvidia's site for video cards (not the latest version but still a major step up from Standard VGA).
See if you can enable OpenGL drawing in Photoshop. If you can and you don't get any funky stuff (broken cursors for the brush tool and the like) then there shouldn't be any problem with using those drivers. -
After some amount of email trouble shooting I sent the PC to bench repair. It came back with the declaration
Repaired (the problem was duplicated during full diagnostics).
It isn't clear what they did to repair it. One box is checked-

Update/driver
Update
The problem reappeared after a day of operation. I don't think it is related to any apps on this computer because it occurs most frequently while using Firefox- most of the PC useage and Excel.
It occured two times as I have been on the HP support forum.
I have been away from the computer for a few days. Tomorrow I think I should ask HP for a new computer.
Actually I am starting to wish I hadn't bought HP.
I know at least one or two others who have had a similar problem. I suspect more people have. Is this likely a systemic problem with the motherboard or video board this PC uses? Or a monitor problem?
As I have said previously the monitor will freeze for a second or two, black out briefly and come back to life with the error message.

Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered - Intel HD (Satelite P75-A7200)
I am trying to play minecraft on my Toshiba Satelite P75-A7200 running Windows 10 preview build 10130 . The game starts up ok and I can start playing it but then, anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes later the Minecraft window locks up. It shows a "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error in the lower right of my laptop screen. The Java Platform SE binary process shows as not responding when I open task manager. I have tried updating drivers direct from Intel, The latest would not install onto Windows 10 (Not a valid OS), Changing the Windows TDR timeout in the registry to 8 (no effect), and simply deleting the display devices and file associated with them and allowing the system to add them back. I am out of ideas at this point. Please help.
When I first got my P750, right out of the box I was having the same type of issue you are describing here. Only mine had to do with playing a dvd in the Toshiba DVD player. Regardless, after many attempts to fix the issue, the following shows a method of how I was able to fix it. It may or may not work for you, all I can say is it worked for me.http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Video-Display/Display-driver-error/m-p/299816 My solution is down near the bottom of page 2 and basically it had to do with Nvidia and Intel driver compatibility. I hope this helps.

Display driver stopped responding but recovered successfully?
I was searching on the internet and my pc froze up for a couple of minutes then a message popped up stating display driver stopped responding but recovered successfully.
What caused this to happen? Is it a bad driver? Is there a fix?
Thanks.Hi @desert88
I saw your post regarding the display driver stopped working error message. This can be caused a number of things, too many programs or visual effects going on or the GPU taking more time then permitted to display graphics or you just might need a newer driver.
Let's look at reinstalling your graphics driver. For that I will need to know what your product number is.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue.

「Display driver has stopped working and recovered successfully」
I have a MSI GS60 2PC GHOST laptop.
Graphic Driver: Intel HD Graphics 4600
When I was playing a game on my laptop, it suddenly lagged or the game screen turned black, then recover, turned black then recover... multiple times and each time I get a message saying that the "display driver has stopped working and recovered successfully" on the bottom right.
I have tried updating the graphic driver and it worked for about an hour or so, and the problem came back.
Need help in solving this problem!Does this happen when you run the game by using dGPU(NVIDIA graphics) or iGPU(Intel graphics)?
(Check the color of your power button light, it lights red when dGPU is running and blue when iGPU is running)
Does this happen on all games you play or just one single game?
Tell your current graphics driver version(both NVIDIA and Intel graphics driver).
If you're running the game with NVIDIA graphics, check your vbios version in NVIDIA control panel(Right click on the desktop> NVIDIA Control Panel> System Information>Video BIOS). There is version 80.04.EF.00.22 released on the MSI website, and if you have a different one, I'd suggested to update the VBIOS and see if the problem still remains.

Display driver has stopped responding . Please help
When playing the game Aion on the Vista side of my computer, the screen freezes, goes black, and returns. After closing the game, I receive the error message "Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, has successfully recovered"
I've tried multiple methods to fix the problem, but none seem to work. Is it Vista, or is it the drivers/hardware? If it is Vista, should I try upgrading to 7? I really don't want to pay and upgrade to 7 yet because my Snow Leopard install disks for the Windows drivers are 6 hours away due to the fact that I'm a college kid.
Any suggestions?Try posting in the Boot Camp forum - http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=237

Graphics driver has stopped and recovered
While playing Max Payne 3, Bf3, Far Cry 3 and War Thunder I encounter crashes (After around 40-60 min) with the "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" message. I have been monitoring the temps of my motherboard, gpu and cpu and none are exceeding excessive temperatures. My GPU temps maxes out at 75 c under full load 60 min ingame.
It only seems to crash when playing DX10/1X games. Been palying Arma 2 for hours and hours online and never had any problems. Same with source games.
Now the strange strange part. When I play the games in Windowed mode I never encounter these problems.
Anyone had this fixed?

GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC - Display driver has stopped responding & recovered
I'm having a with a problem with my new MSI GTX 560 Ti twin frozr II/OC. About once a day (sometimes more) my display either crashes and goes dark or the display fills up with small squares and then goes dark. After about 10 seconds the display comes back and I get the error message: "Display driver stopped responding & has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version xxx.xx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
I am not much of a technical troubleshooter but is this a driver issue or a problem with the card itself? Some forums out there are saying that I need to increase the GPU voltage, etc. Being somewhat of a noob, I am looking for the easiest explanation/solution that even someone like me can handle...thanks.OS: MS Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Hi, I bought a cheap NVIDIA card to go alongside my GTX285 to allow me to use a third monitor for timeline playback. I've done this before with an ati card with no issues but needed to change to a single height card to get the extra slot back.
It installed it's drivers and then whenever I opened premiere CS6 it would immediately hang and blue screen. I removed the card and rolled back to old drivers but no change. NVIDIA support gave me beta drivers but no change either. They suggested that my card or motherboard was faulty. (Motherboard is a EVGA Sr2) Eventually I found I can edit normally if I turn off hardware acceleration for the mercury playback engine and leave it as software only. Not much use when my GPU supports CUDA.
Even now the display driver keeps giving me the "stopped responding" message with or without premiere open so I'm thinking there is some hardware issue somewhere. The Blue screen only occurs when I use mercury hardware acceleration.
I have ordered a GTX470 because I can't afford to spend hundreds on a 690 etc.
The current driver version is 306.97, error occurs in CS5 and CS6
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Michael. The reason the ATI card worked was because that is completely 2 separate drivers. That makes it easier for the OS to sort out the device ID's although that can cause issues with some applications and the ram shadowing done by Win 7 compositing mode. However when you use 2 Nvidia GPU's, the drivers are essentially the same as far as what the OS see's but they have completely different support for things like Direct X. This often can cause major issues with drawing out on the screen. The other issue is the 2 cards may not have resource charts that are far enough apart to avoid resource issues. If you cant return the 470 card then you may want to try a 1GB 620 card for the 2nd video card and see if that will work. That will minimize the resource shadowing and hopefully run the 600 series card in the Direct X version the 400 series card will run.

Nvidia display driver has stopped responding and has recovered
Hello,
I'm fairly new to the boards. I recently purchased my first laptop, the t510. I have noticed on 2 occasions, about a month apart where the screen flickered and received the nvidia display driver message above. On the first occasion, I was running Google Earth. On the second occasion, I was playing a demo of a game. The power settings were on low in both instances. Is the problem that the video card was not receiving enough power or am I looking at imminent hardware failure. I have the 3 year depot warranty so I can certainly send it in for repair if necessary but I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a power setting. Any information you could provide would be much appreciated.

You are not the only one with this problem scout929.
Its not the best idea to do a direct comparison with the W510 thread, since that model doesnt use the same graphic processor as the T510 - but its a guideline to the driver being faulty nevertheless. So I guess we just have to wait for a driver that works better... -
MOVED: 「Display driver has stopped working and recovered successfully」
This topic has been moved to GAMING Notebooks.
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=250960.0Does this happen when you run the game by using dGPU(NVIDIA graphics) or iGPU(Intel graphics)?
