Graphic export

I can't get the graphic export function to work. I have made several attempts at exporting a region of a score using the clipboard alternative, but in vain. When I try to paste into another program the paste command is greyed out.
Can anyone help?

Hi
The Score Editor does still have the camera tool (below the Velocity tool in the menu), but it is much better to use the Print to PDF functions built in to OSX.
Select Print, then click th ePDF button in the dialog box.

  • Powerpoint graphic export filters

    Hi guys;
I'm using Java to Com bridge technology for ppt automation to export a ppt presentation's slides as GIF images.
the issue here is wether PowerPoint graphic export filters are always
    Installed with ppt.
what if my program can't find GIF graphic export filter ?
is there a way to check if gif graphic export filter is installed
on user machine before trying to export ?
I would appreciate a lot some source code .
    Please help !
    thanks.

    Hello,
To export layouts with filters, go to the View menu > Layout > Open. Then choose the layout that you want to export, and open that layout. Then go to the Filters dialog box, select the filters that are active, and click on the 'Copy as Layout' button at the bottom right of the Filters dialog box. A copy of the filter will be made to the Layout Filters section within the Filters dialog box.
Next, save the layout (View menu > Layout > Save). Then, go to the View menu > Layout > Open. Choose the layout and click on 'Export'. The layout will be saved as a Primavera Layout File (.plf). The filters will be included in the layout file.

  • Visible graphic export

    hallo all,

    Thanks for your reply.
As far as I know, targas can only be RGB. I couldn't find a way in Photoshop to work in YCbCr. I have Photoshop CS, so its pretty old, but even on my work computer, which has CS3, I didn't see anything. Next week I'll be installing CS4, so there might be something in that.
I won't be able to test anything until late tonight, but I'll try several formats to see if they make a difference. I'm wondering if there might also be some kind of option in FCE to convert imported graphics to the correct color space.
When keying graphics over video in your projects, how do you save them(formate, color space, etc)? Ever see this issue?
    Thanks for your help

  • Vector graphic export?

How can I move vector graphics from Keynote to other applications (like Adobe Illustrator) using the new version?  I had no problem in Keynote 5.  I really like using Keynote to make images and if I can't figure it out I will have to switch over to Illustrator full time...

You answer seems inappropriate to me, and I hope to many others.
Then your using the wrong software.  If your need is to create vector drawings then if you have Keynote version 5.3 use that, it is compatible with OS 10.6 Snow Leopard through to OS 10.10 Yosemite, alternatively use a dedicated vector drawing application, there are many to choose from, two are mentioned in this discussion.
It is so frustrating to see that the V6, that uses natively vectors shape, cannot export them by a simple cut and paste.
Keynote does not have this feature, use an appropriate application that meets your needs.
removing this feature is a true handicap for Keynote.
The purpose of Keynote version 6 is to;  "create and deliver beautiful presentations", so states the Apple Keynote webpage.
Keynote is not disadvantaged in the least when creating presentations by the lack of exporting vector drawings.
Why would profesional designers use or promote Keynote if this software is no longer able to properly interact with other design tools?
Probably because it does in fact work very well with respected professional tools, it can import media from Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, Numbers, Excel, Indesign,  Final Cut Pro, Garageband, Protools ..............
Apple has lost its common sense.
People have been saying that since 1976.

  • "Milky" Results When Exporting from AE to FCP

I've been using After Effects for years now to create graphics for our Avid projects, which have always been great! Now that we're using FCP, I'm not exactly happy with the results of my QT graphics exported from After Effects to FCP: they're extremely "milky" and faint when viewed from FCP over an NTSC monitor. I have tried various codecs when exporting: DV/NTSC, Animation, Component-- all with the same results.
I have read other threads with similar comments (even the thread that mentioned "milky" results when exporting from FCP to AE and back) but none of the suggestions/remarks helped in my situation.
I'm sure others have experienced this. Any suggestions?
    Settings:
After Effects comp: NTSC/DV Preset (720 x 480, lower field, etc.)
Export Codecs: DV/DVCPro-NTSC, Animation, Component (same milky results)
Final Cut: Sequence Preset DV/NTSC 48 Khz
Also tried using, as one thread suggested, the "Uncompressed 8 bit NTSC 48 Khz" preset and nothing better
Side note: I'm using Final Cut in this system with both DV video and Betacam, using an Aja card. Both DV and Beta results look the same (going straight thru the decks-to-NTSC monitor).
And yes, I've checked the NTSC monitor-- a Sony Trinitron PVM-20 monitor. And I've looked at the results on other monitors and even regular TVs. Milky faint video all around.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

You might want to post this in the FCP forum next door; this for Final Cut Express

  • Flash Pro CS5  Convert to Flex Component and SWC export

    Hi,
my question is about the Flash Pro CS5 and Flash Builder 4 (Flex 4) integration.
My goal is simple - to make a simple graphic in a MovieClip and then export that for use in Flash Builder 4. I found out I have 2 ways of doing that:
    1) -> create the MovieClip with the graphic
-> export it for ActionScript with a name of the class
-> select the symbol in the library again and export SWC file. Total size of this SWC in my example is 24kb.
-> put the SWC in the libs folder and use the class/component which should be put inside SpriteVisualContainer or UIMovieClip
    2) -> create the MovieClip with the graphic
-> export it for ActionScript with a name of the class
-> select it in the libraly and then select Commands -> Convert Symbol to Flex Component
Now here we can do 2 things:
-> select the symbol in the library and export SWC file. Total size here is 104kb.
-> publish the whole project and use its SWC file.
    And last:
-> put the SWC in the libs folder and use the class/component wherever you want because it's already extending UIMovieClip.
So My point is that with the first way I need to use just one simple container to put my component into and I save like 80 kb. Why would I want to use the second way, just to be more comfortable or there are other reasons too?
I was thinking that maybe I could put more flex converted components in the fla file so I would then export the swc with all of them being already flex components and that 80kb will be shared for all of them, which makes sense of using this feature, but if someone could confirm my thinking is right or there was some other better purpose or way of doing things in an optimised way, I will be glad to hear them. Thanks!

    Hi,
I am using the first option while converting from flash to flex. Its easy and it saves lots of memory.

  • Fireworks 8-Bit Export Issues

    Hello,
I've been a loyal Fireworks user since 2003. I'm at the point now where if Adobe ever discontinues it, I'd probably quit the industry before I'd go back to designing Websites in Photoshop .
I've had this issue for a few years now and was never able find a satisfactory solution. I was hoping someone may have an answer or at least offer a good explanation as to why things have to be this way. I am currently using CS3.
Here's the issue -- when exporting a graphic as either GIF or PNG-8, significant banding and other artifacts occur no matter what the quality or export settings are. This is NOT the normal banding associated with the limitations of 8-Bit graphics (yes I am aware of the difference between GIFs and JPGs). This is Fireworks seeming to not detect enough colors. Even when I set the colors to 256 (and click "rebuild"), Fireworks will only include 113 colors, for example, and I will get the artifacts. There is no way for me to manually include all 256 colors (short of manually adding them 1 by 1, I guess, but I didn't try that because that seems like a ridiculous waste of time).
Moreover, the exact same graphic exported from Photoshop using identical settings yields a much higher quality graphic.
I've uploaded two screenshots for comparison:
A graphic ready to export in Fireworks as a GIF: DOWNLOAD/VIEW
Note the significant and noticeable banding. Also note only 230 colors are being included in the color table even though 256 colors are chosen from the export settings.
The EXACT SAME graphic ready for export in Photoshop: DOWNLOAD/VIEW
Note in spite of the identical settings, the Photoshop version is much smoother. Also note Photoshop is using all 256 available colors.
So is there anything I can do about this? Some way to force it to fill the color table? Dithering isn't really something I want to do.
I realize under normal circumstances these graphics are more suited for being JPGs. But there are times where I NEED something like transparency and JPG is not an option. More importantly, I would like to use Fireworks' ability to export PNG-8's with alpha transparency (so it looks cecent in IE6 without hacks and IE-specific code) but this issue keeps me from doing so.
    Thanks!

I'm not sure what makes me more sad/angry...
That it's (yet another) Fireworks bug (although the term bug may be arguable, it's a bug to me). Here we are on version 10 some of the most basic functions just flat out don't work right. I'm very worried Adobe is going to neglect and discontinue this product -- it has such a ridiculous amount of potential, yet I could sit here right now and list 100 bugs/annoyances that have been around forever and still aren't fixed. I read over that CS4 update released the other day, and aside from the text engine fix, all I could think was "this isn't NEARLY enough"...
That the Fireworks team is aware of it. To me this means if it's not already fixed, then I shouldn't hold my breath.
That you are suggesting -- best case scenario -- we will have to wait for CS5. And Adobe will actually expect us to pay for a fix.
Maybe they could just integrate Photoshop's export engine. Although given how they did integrating Photoshop's text engine, I'm afraid to ask.
Completely off topic, but while we are on the subject of bugs/limitations, you know that issue where appying a layer mode (like overlay) to an object, then grouping it, then either grouping it again or converting it to a symbol wipes out the layer mode completely? How many times a day do you run into that one? For me, it is completely crippling to my workflow, and renders the symbol library completely uselss to me. And yeah pretty sure the team knows about that one too.
Also, have you checked out http://adobegripes.tumblr.com/ yet? If you have any experience with Adobe products, it is LITTERALLY coffee-through-the-nose funny at times.

  • Wrong colors after export

I don't know if this is related to the color issue with the Eyedropper — http://forums.adobe.com/message/4691036
Anyway, this is a really serious bug that didn't happen with CS5, but it indeed happens with CS6. When I export an image from Fireworks, colors are completely wrong, as you can see from the attachment.
    Anyone affected with this bug?

I think this is less likely to be a bug and more likely to be a quirk in the new Mountain Lion OS, though it could certainly be related to the "eyedropper color sampling" bug you've observed previously.
Are you viewing the exported graphics in Preview?
According to an online source, untagged images are assumed to be in an sRGB color space in Mountain Lion. This is different from previous Mac OSs, which assumed the monitor display profile (a smaller gamut space, which required no color management). Graphics exported from Fireworks are untagged; therefore, they may be getting "assigned" an sRGB profile on-the-fly by the operating system. This would cause a change in the their appearance—including a boost in saturation, as sRGB is typically a larger-gamut color space than most monitor display profiles.
One way to test this theory would be to open the exported graphic in Preview and assign it the monitor display profile (go to Tools > Assign Profile..., then choose "Color LCD"); this should decrease the saturation of the graphic and cause it to appear as it does in Fireworks.
Also, this new Mac OS behavior should affect Fireworks PNGs as well, not just exported PNGs. Do you observe the same color change when you view a Fireworks PNG in Preview? How about graphics output from Fireworks CS5? They should also be affected.

  • How To Export Highest Resolution?

I'm looking for a better way of getting highest possible line
resolutions in graphic exports from FreeHand to MS WORD. Until now,
I've been using FreeHand 11 as a means to produce high quality line
drawings for patent applications. It's been ok. I've been bringing
in content as PDFs from CAD programs, and then enhancing line
widths and other aspects using FreeHand. When finished, I've been
just copying the selected graphics to the Windows clipboard and
pasting into PC Paint. Then I've copied right back to the clipboard
and pasted into a MS WORD doc. My target. This has been ok (and
quick) for simple graphics. Recently, I've tried FreeHand's export
as BMP, TIFF, JPG and other formats. So far, the BMP seems best,
but I seem to be limited to 300 DPH by FreeHands settings choices,
and to an anti-aliasing level of 4. While this is a slight
improvement over the simple cut and paste route, especially when
magnified, printed comparisons are not that different.. Does anyone
have a better idea? I'd like the graphics qualities of exports into

  • Motion Export

Is anyone having issues with graphic exports and Final Cut X?
My exports are simple text supers that lay over a green screen key over white.
The graphic imports into FCP X with a black background?  This is something new that hasn't happened before!!
    Help!

The reason is that only 4444 (and the newer 4444 XQ) supports alpha (it's what the fourth 4 is about.) In former versions, the Animation codec was available and that was the only other video codec that supported transparency, but is no longer an option when exporting out of Motion 5.
It takes longer to export because the bandwidth is 50% greater than (and XQ is easily twice that of) 422(HQ).
I still don't understand why you're exporting them out of Motion as video when you can have them available as Motion Templates in FCPX. A ProRes export of a title is going to be hundreds of megabytes, whereas most titles are measured in Kilobytes in file size.

  • Exporting a 200 x 340 QuickTime

Issue: A client needs an uncompressed Quicktime file exported at 200 x 340, what would be the best way to handle this? Can a sequence in FCP be set up to this size?
    Help is appreciated.

    Here's what I did.
    1. I edited the graphics in a 200x340 space in the center of a 720x480 sequence and exported it using QuickTime Conversion at 200x340. Then imported it back into the 720x480 sequence in FCP and it looked small and squeezed.
    2. I created a 200x340 sequence, edited the graphics, exported using QuickTime Conversion at Current Size and imported back into the 720x480 FCP sequence and it was scaled properly.
About the "cropped" vs. "scaled", I did a little of both, scaled the video down a little and cropped the edges to fit it into the 200x340 area.

  • Slow/unresponsive video playback, media pending, after CC'14 October update

Encountering a strange issue after the October update. It's a project carried over from the previous CC'14 version, nothing crazy, about an 18 minute timeline of video/.mov clips straight off a JVC GY-HM600U with simple RGB curves/masks on some clips, some Prores422 clips of graphics exported out of After Effects, a couple nested sequences featuring simple text w/ cross dissolves, and a lower 3rd Quicktime with RGB+Alpha. There are some linked AE comps in the project but not in the sequence. Ran fine before update. Here's my system, obviously no CUDA so Mercury Playback is software only:
Upon opening the project everything is fine, playback is smooth, scrubbing from beginning to end no problem. After a period of time, 10-15 minutes? Suddenly video playback hangs up, with audio continuing to play after . Opening a clip in the Source window displays the Media Pending thumbnail, after 15 seconds it seems to find the media but again it's only a still frame with video hanging up. Then audio seems to hang up and I can't do anything. I can still manipulate the UI but scrubbing through the timeline is completely unresponsive, pressing play does nothing.
Quitting the program seems to freeze it, the window closes but it stays lit up in my dock and shows Application Not Responding, causing me to force quit.
A system reboot yesterday seemed to clear the issue up for the remainder of the work day but it's back today. Not sure where the issue is coming from, but seems like some kind of memory leak or something similar since it seems to be a gradual degradation in performance. I'll have to roll back to a previous version to finish up this project until things are fixed.

    Hello,
Many thanks for your very long reply and your interest in my problems.
I shall try to answer you :
    - 1) OS :  Windows 7 64 bits Pro SP1, french,
                     Version : 6.1.7601.18247 (Win7RTM)
                     Framework.NET : 4.0.30319.18408 built by : FX451RTMGREL)
                     DirectX : 11.0,
                     OpenGL : 6.1.7600.16385 (Win7_rtm.090713-1255).
    - 2) Yes the media pending goes away but after a couple of minutes (one
year ago I was using PP CS6 and Encore CS6, I never had this problem
    even with very long files),
    - 3) Yes my GPU driver is updated (Nvidia GeForce 332.21 dated 12/19/2014).
I never had thiese problems with PP CS6 + Encore CS6 and my projects
built with these PP ans Encore version were with the same structure and
length (in PP CS6 : sequences up to 45 minutes, in Encore CS6 chapters
    up to the same time).
The difference between are in my hardware :
    - the RAM was upgraded from 12 GB to 24 GB,
    - the CPU was overclocked from 3,2 GHz (default) to 3,88 GHz).
    - 4) I shall try up to the disk burn to check if the problem is just due
    to display of "animated buttons".
I hope my answer will be usefull for you.

  • InDesign CS2 crashes or locks up with Leopard

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone is also having this problem. I thought I'd upgrade to the new Leopard OSX 10.5 but I still have CS2 Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. I'm having crashes in InDesign when placing any art or making pdf's from within the program. I'm using both the pull down menu and shortcuts but now it keeps crashing. I can't work this way. I went onto the Adobe site and it said there are no fixes!!! So are there any...? Will I have to reload the old systen back on or bite the bullet and buy new CS3!!!
    Help?
    Jana

Unfortunately, most of the threads here fail to offer a solution and simply berate the user for upgrading their OS. Whether right or wrong, the Apple bashing does nothing to solve the problem. I have upgraded to OS X 10.5 and still use CS2. I see no point in upgrading to CS 3, since from the threads here it seems even that is not compatible.
Using CS2 and 10.5, I have found a workaround for the file selector box crash. This works on both my systems (a G5 desktop and a G4 laptop). Hope this can help someone.
    Workaround steps:
    - Launch InDesign
    - Select "Open" from the file menu
    - Open an InDesign file (any file)
    - Close or use the file (doesn't matter)
After doing the above in the order described, I can use ID2 as usual. Double-click a file to open it, import graphics, export pages, "save as", etc. The trick for me is to open a file through the "open" command in the file menu immediately after launching ID.
This works for me every time. If I launch ID by double-clicking a doc, ID will always crash. The crash causes more crashes because of auto-recovery. When you re-launch ID and the recovered file opens, that will trigger the crash again when accessing the file selector. If you are working on a file and ID crashes, re-launch. The recovered doc(s) will open. Hit cmd-S to save (Save without the file selector box). Then close the file and quit ID. Start over as above to avoid future crashes.
Hope this helps someone. I have had ID running without a crash for weeks at a time using this method.
