Graphic for 1099 forms

We recently applied OSS note 1121898 to upload the graphic for the 2007 1099-MISC forms. I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but the graphic has a broken line down the left side of the page. I have sent a message to OSS but have not heard back yet. If I change the graphic to an earlier year, the line disappears so I believe there is an issue with the imported graphic.
Did anyone else encounter the same issue? How did you resolve it? We would like to print out the forms ASAP.

Thanks Mike- I'll look into it. Only need 1099 misc option, not entire turbo tax software but I'll check it out anyway!

Reg 1099 forms for state specific

For 1099 forms in the HR module, in particular state specific forms, does SAP update the standard form every year if they change, or does a customer need to create a custom form and update the form themselves?

You will have to create the record for State Manually. Create the record for every State where your Retiree resides.
You can copy the layout of HR_F_1099R_TAPE and then create or add another record into it.

Is there a way for a form user to load graphics and text in same field?

I am aware that you can load text into a text field and graphics into an image field. However, I would like to load a document containing text and graphics (e.g., MS Word or RTF) into a single field on a PDF form. Is there any way to do this?

I believe that the example of attaching a file that you have provided will solve the problem. I am using LiveCycle Designer, so using the code that is in your example should be no problem. The end-user will use Adobe Reader, so as you mentioned, I will use Acrobat to extend the features so that the form can be used by Reader.

It is part of the PDF AcroForm side of things .....Are you using Reader or Acrobat to fill the form. If Reader then you will have to Reader Extend to make this work ....if Acrobat then you simply need to add some code. I have attached a sample that shows you how to do it if you want it.

1099 forms using S_P00_07000134

We're using the generic program s_p00_07000134 to
produce our 1099 forms and file. IDWTCERT_US_1099MISC gets generated and the form says 'Copy B' for the recipient. How do we create the rest of the copies (Copy A for IRS, Copy 1 for the state, Copy 2, and Copy C?

It looks like we will have only Copy B in smart form. When running the 1099's, you can do a print preview. In the print preview, there is a "Suppress/Display Background Graphics" push button that toggles between displaying the form and not displaying the form. What needs to be done is to send the 1099 to the print spooler without the background graphics. This only prints the data. Then you print the data on pre-printed Copy A, Copy B, and Copy 1. ...

Alternate Payee is printing on 1099 Forms, Need head vendor to print

We applied the applicable OSSnotes for 1099 for the year 2010. Everything is working fine as expected, except one issue.
When we execute the report S_P00_07000134, the report alternate payee is being printed on the Account Number field of the actual 1099 form. Our goal is to have the main head vendor printed. Also, strangely, the alternate payee is NOT even set for 1099 process (withholding tax code field) in the vendor master record. That field is NOT even present on the account group for alternate payee in our design.
Interestingly, after printing, when we back out of the report, the screen with title Generic Withholding Tax Reporting shows up, that screen has the Head Vendor listed.
Not sure, where the setting is in SAP that will force only head vendor to show up.
Or we made mistakes in the application of OSSnotes.
Or, we possibly missed another OSS notes ?

Do a search of OSS notes for program RFIDYYWT - there are multiple notes related to alternate payee that are in addition to the 2010 update notes.

How to manually change 1099 form $ amounts?

We have a small number of vendors that are also paid outside of our SAP system. We need to generate the IRS 1099 form for all payments made to these vendors. Is there any way to adjust the amount field(s) that print onto the form from SAP?
For example, vendor Joe Smith has payments of $10,000 issued from SAP. Our company has also paid Joe Smith $5,000 outside of the R/3 system. We are using the 'Generic Withholding Tax Reporting' in 4.7. Is there a way we can print the 1099 form showing $15,000 in payments made to Joe Smith?
I have searched OSS consulting notes on 1099 and 1042 without any luck.

Actually there is one SwitchDataSourceFormHandler also which does the same. Although the API documentation say about it to be used with jhtml but I think it should work with JSP as well.

It may not be performing the cache invalidation but you can do that as Shaik mentioned. If you want to use SwitchDataSourceFormHandler by extending it with cache invalidation part then you can find its source provided at <ATG>/DAS/src/Java/atg/droplet/sql.

Adobe Interactive Forms based on Adobe software in SAP solutions prevents media breaks in business processes that are linked to forms. The solution combines XML data with the Adobe PDF format and enables forms containing the corresponding data to be generated from an SAP application. Information entered by users is automatically extracted from the form and passed to the application.
In adobe forms,the form template (and any other associated items such as graphics or images) is stored in the SAP database (in ABAP development) or the Design Time Repository (in Java development). At run time, the template is rendered into a PDF with the data enclosed, and displayed in the browser.
After a user has filled out and submitted a form, it is up to the individual application to decide what happens with the PDF file. The data is extracted from the form by the Adobe document services, and the PDF has basically served its purpose. However, it may be necessary for legal reasons to store the filled-in PDF form in the application database for future reference.
Generation of fillable PDF forms from Smart Forms/sapscript is not possible.
Adobe Interactive Forms is shipped as a part of SAP Web AS 6.40. SAP Web AS 6.40 can be connected to lower-release backend systems to exchange data (using RFC).

How to upload Graphic in ADobe forms

I have a requirment to upload the Graphic to Adobe forms .
How to I use the logo(Graphics) which is stored in the application server
I have 2 sales organizations which has different "LOGOs" used. Same Adobe form is used to print Invoices for both sales organizations. When I print Invoice for a particular sales organization, I need to print its "LOGO" and when same adobe form prints the invoice for another sales organization it should print its logo.
How can i control the above situation dynamically ?

Hi Raju,
Images in a Adobe form can be embeded in 2 different ways.
Approach1: This is static approach form would have only one image at all times which is refered by the file name (alter natively if you can manage to place different images with the same file name at runtime then this can be dynamic)
1) have the image located in the application server path.
2) Have the Emage lement in Adobe form pass the file location path to the element source.
3) At run time it will fetch the file from the location.
Approach2: (I am not a core abaper so not sure how its done but we have done it for a mobile application)
1) using your abap code read the image from the location (find out how to pick the org specific's image).
2) convert the image into byte stream.
3) pass on this byte stream to the form via a string field.
4) in the form have the image field.
5) this time here instead of selecting the path, bind it to this particular field from the data source.

Hello,
You can call the graphic dynamically as per your requirement by calling the Graphic dynamically, For ex: Name of the graphic: &WA_ITAB-FIELD1& ( which is a field of IntTab ITAB taken into Work area WA_ITAB ).
Also please note that you cannot print / overlay text in a diamond, perhaps you can have a work around to print the graphic and beside the graphic you print the Customer short name. for this you can either define a table / template.

Graphics for Menu

I'm creating my first real custom menu, and have created a background graphic (720x480) for it in photoshop CS. However, I'm noticing that the quality isn't really great. Do people usually create the graphics for DVDs in other apps like photoshop or just design them right in DVDSP? Also, if the former is true, how do you save the photoshop file? As a JPEG?

I create the majority of my menu elements using Photoshop CS and haven't notice a problem. There are a few considerations you need to take, though:
1) Remember that you are creating a DVD menu for television playback, and that's where it needs to look its best. Keep in mind that the menus (as will the rest of the DVD) will look worse on the computer than it will look on the TV due to the resolutions of each.
2) When creating your graphics, avoid thin horizontal lines, and sharp high-contrast horizontal edges. Try to use horizontal lines at least four pixels thick, and choose a bold sans-serif typeface font. Additionally, all graphic elements should be anti-aliased or blended, rather than have sharp edges.
3) Don't forget to use the 'NTSC Color Safe filter' in Photoshop to make sure the colors are TV 'safe'
Photoshop CS has a template you can use, which not only is the right dimensions, but has the action and title safe areas marked off. It defaults to saving as a PSD file, which works great in DVDSP.

1099M - 2008 Legal changes for 1099 Reporting

Hello experts,
I have been using program RFW1099M via Sapscript form to generate the 1099M. Based on note 1279366 on 2008 legal changes for 1099 reporting, sap provided the 1099MISC form in Smartforms.
I don't use Smartforms. Is there any sap 1099M program provided using Smartforms ?
The sapscript form i currently have looks the same as the 2008 1099Misc. So I don't know why i have to use Smartforms. Pls let me know what you think ?

1099 form of US localization

Dear All,
Our client is on SAP881. I just noticed our consultant didn't setup 1099 for their vendors. So all their AP invoice has no 1099 selected. Then for sure if we run 1099 report, nothing show up. Since the invoices of last year are all closed, there is no way for us to update the 1099 form and box AP invoice >> accounting tab >> form 1099 and box 1099 field from the interface.
Is there any other way we can correct them? Or they have to do it manually? They have a lot of vendors and invoices.

In this case, you may only do it manually. Setup the correct 1099 info for the next year is your best bet.
