Graphic glitches with NX7600GS - TD256

Hello to everyone
I recently bought a NX7600GS TD256 (AGP) and I installed it according to the instructions. The problem I am having is that graphical glitches appear on my screen all the time:
These glitches also appear in the pre-windowsscreens. Any ideas if this might be a hardware- or a software-problem and how I might fix this?

ur psu is too weak it only has 250W i guess u need at least 350W or more with decent 12A rail
Yeppa, just looked at it. Card requires 350 W and my PSU gives a max of 250 W. Thanks for the help!

  • [Solved] Catalyst graphical glitches with dual head setup

Hello all, having a weird issue with my dual monitor setup where graphical glitches make my primary monitor completely unusable. The Tear Free feature of the proprietary catalyst driver is what seems to be causing it:
    Tear Free enabled:
    Tear Free disabled:
I can safely enable it with one monitor disabled also. The issue is that without Tear Free enabled, I'm experiencing some serious screen tearing when watching videos and playing games.
My video card is the XFX HD 7970 Double D and I'm using the latest version of catalyst (14.4), installed from Vi0L0's repo. The monitors are the same model with the same specs (1920x1200 @60Hz). I definitely used to be able to use Tear Free with my dual head setup at most a month ago, so some update at some point must have broken it. I temporarily switched back to the open source driver before I had found Tear Free to be the culprit and the performance is still hardly comparable.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Downgrading catalyst to 14.3 seems to have done the job. Thanks for the suggestion, marking as solved.

Sorry, I don't post often and wasn't aware of the rules on images. I'll keep that in mind next time.

  • Flash graphics glitch with alpha transparencies: any ideas what could be going wrong?

Hey folks, this forum has found me loads of answers in the
past through various searches but now it's time for me to enquire
    about something myself...
Here's a bit of graphics I'm going to be using as part of a
    larger project:
    http://www.stucox.co.uk/file_dump/LogoGlitch.html
You'll see that as the mask for the logo at the top seems to
bite a chunk out of the mask on the arrows below (they've got an
alpha mask on them to make them fade towards the top)... this is
just a graphics glitch as if you get it to redraw that frame, it
    redraws fine.
What could cause this? it's almost as if the two masks (the
one on the logo and the one on the arrows) are adding/subtracting
together, even though they're in totally different layers of
heirarchy, have different instance names, etc
I know that the issue is the masks as if i disable either one
or the other, it renders fine. I've also noticed similar things in
other areas of my graphics with two coinciding masks causing
    glitches.
The one solution I've found (short of removing my
transparency, but I want to keep that as part of the design!) is to
make the movieclip containing all of the arrows to move very slowly
(at least one pixel per frame seems to do it), which seems to stop
the glitching - no idea why, other than that it might be forcing it
    to redraw properly?
I've tried playing around with the bitmap caching on just
about every movie clip in the movie and all sorts...
    Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply, sorry it's taken me a while to get back
    on.
This is all going to be over the top of a bitmap background.
No, you're right - this doesn't come anywhere near 10 alpha layers.
The arrows are just bezier shapes I've drawn myself.
And yeah, I can't really afford to make it low quality (I
think the only reason that works is it then ignores alpha
transparency), this is all going to be an "impressive" minsite for
a big clubbing event in London!
Obviously I can just tone down some of the animation a bit -
make the arrows part of the bitmap background rather than tweening
them on screen etc, but I'd really like to understand what's going
wrong here to try and avoid it in the future!

  • Late 2007 MBP graphics glitch with files/folder in finder

After the 10.5.6 update everything worked smoothly. Since a restart when moving files and folders within the finder now I have a graphical glitch. The file/folder being moved appears randomly cut, (both text and icon are missing a random squarish chunk of the file/folder image when dropped to another location anywhere in the finder). There is also more than usual delay. I am not having this occur with item on the desktop. Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

Then there's a conflict or corruption in the original account, usually amongst the various preference files. How badly do you want fix this problem? Here's what's required to resolve the conflict/corruption (sorry I have no idea which preference file (plist) might be mucked up, but you can do a cursory check with Preferential Treatment at http://www.jonn8.com/html/pt.html
While logged into the newly created admin account, backup the bad account's folder, delete the bad account, selecting the save data option (which is stored in /Users/Deleted Users/ as a disk image), recreate the bad account using the same username/password combo, log out and back into the recreated original account. If the problem's solved, open the saved data dmg file in /Users/Deleted Users/, open the /Library/Preferences/ folder from the saved data, open the current /Users/restored account/Library/Preferences/ folder, and slowly copy plist files from the saved data folder to the current one that don't exist in it. Log out and back in to ensure there's no conflict and things still work correctly. Resolving conflicts or identifying corrupt plist files is a laborious process. Good luck.

  • Graphical glitch with The Next Big Thing

I have a graphical glitch whilst playing The Next Big Thing. The character keeps disappearing or 'flashing' on/off. It's quite annoying and I don't know what to do.
There doesn't seem to be any ways of adjusting the graphics, probably because it's a 2D game.
I went through the apple support but I only get two choices. Either schedule a call or ring them myself later. I can't do either because I'm working abroad and don't have access to a phone.

For that kind of fix you can use the Report a Problem link in your receipt or the Purhases section of your iTunes account.

  • Graphic glitch with ti4800SE 8x

    Hi,
I just installed a ti4800SE 8x and am now experiencing problems with colored spots interrupting any games I play.  Black, blue, and green spots of color flicker throughout the game in different parts of the screen.  I did not experience this problem on my GeForce 2.  If anyone has any ideas for me, they would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Slim Cow,
Your problem is your power supply.  250W is not even the minimin spec for an Athlon. Just for running an Athlon you should have at least a 300W Power Supply.  Now you are also running a GeForce4 Ti card, now you need at least 28a on the 3.3V RAIL and a max Combined Power for the 3.3V and the 5V RAIL of 200W.
Here is an example of the sticker on a power supply:
Tell me what your power supply reads please.
    Take Care,
    Richard

  • Graphical glitches with more than one user logged in

    Some of the symptoms:
    - Finder windows that refuse to scroll (unless the cursor is hovered over the dock, then the position will jump)
    - Images that show blanks in Quick Look.  Sometimes reactivating Quick Look will cause the image to be displayed.
    - Interface elements freezing unless the cursor is moved over the dock.
In every case, logging out one user fixes the issues for the other user.  This is on a MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt.

It sounds like you have scheduled it to shut down instead of sleep. Ensure you have selected Sleep and not Shut Down.

  • Graphical Glitches: Objects appear not selected when they are, Symbols not appearing correctly

I've been having a ton of graphical glitches with Adobe Flash CS6 and I can't for the life of me figure out for the life of me.
    Things that happen:
Objects will not appear selected when using the Free Transform Tool.
Symbols don't appar in scene when pasted, or dragged in until I leave the scene or symbol im in. They show up in the preview window though.
Something else I've been noticing is that when I use the Pen tool my computer or speakers or something making this werid noise and it only happens when I'm using the Pen tool.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No one has had these issues? I just got another one. My timeline disappeared, I don't mean the menu hid or thats it not there. It's there its just not actually displaying the Timeline or at least it didn't till I wen't back a few changes for some reason. It was still there though as I could click the eye and lock and the layers (which ones I have no idea) it was all grey. Also again the selection area doesn't show up, all movements of symbols are slow to update their postitions and when I turn on outlines it does nothing.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 playback issues & graphics glitches

    Hi everyone.
For a few days now (not sure whether it's been like this since the latest update) I have been experiencing serious playback issues and graphics glitches with Premiere Pro CS6. I'm on a Macbook Pro Retina.
Please see attached screenshot for reference. What happens is, I start Premiere - it works fine for a few minutes, but at some point things start to go wrong. The program monitor doesn't show anything anymore, even though the playhead is moving and I get audio.
Sometimes, either the program monitor or the source monitor displays some other part of the Premiere UI or even OSX Finder windows/ other applications like safari. What you are seing in the screenshot is a glitch showing a part of the source window within the program window.
Once this happens, there's nothing I can do but to restart Premiere.
Does anyone else have these kinds of issues?
Premiere is becoming unusable for me at the moment, which is a serious issue since this is my primary NLE.
What also happens from time to time is the following: i start up my project, and once i do anything like moving the playhead, i receive the following error message "a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down" which then does exactly what it says. this will happen repeateadly until i restart my computer.
    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to the forum.
Make sure you have the latest driver for your video card, and if you're using hardware mercury playback, then make sure you have the latest CUDA drivers from nvidia.  If that doesn't work, then please answer the questions here as completely as you can:

  • NMP - Graphics glitches, Logic UI slowdown

So I've been having weird graphics glitches with my new Mac Pro (Late 2013). That, along with Logic X having MAJOR UI lag problems. I've asked around a lot on the Apple Logic forums and third party forums too, no dice.
My computer is the 8-core, with dual D300 GPU's. I took the computer in to the Genius Bar and they had it for a whole week, then told me they couldn't reproduce the issue but that my memory showed up bad after they tested that. I switched out the memory... same thing still happening.
I thought it might be to do with my 27 inch cinema display, so I switched that out for an HP display, no change.
    What can I do here????

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.
If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

  • Apple - PLEASE fix the graphical bug with Dock and Stacks! PLEASE!

Using popular Mac games such as Diablo II, Freeverse's Wingnuts, Ambrosia's Aperion, and Blitwise's Super DX-Ball (as well as a LOT more) results in a common graphical glitch with the Dock and stacks, making fan stacks totally useless until I restart my iMac. Killing and relaunching the Dock doesn't fix it. Only restarting my Mac temporarily sorts it out. This is a highly annoying bug most often set off by games that Apple STILL hasn't fixed as of 10.5.3. So I let every developer (who I do not blame, BTW) know whose product results in this bug, in the hope they will apply pressure to Apple. Leopard has been the buggiest release since 10.1 IME and Apple is taking there sweet time about crushing such crippling bugs. Suffice to say it's really ******* me off.
Here is a screenshot from another 24" iMac afflicted by this bug after running a game:
    <http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/5324/corrupteddockandmenuletpk1.png>
Notice the open stack is just grey bars. The icons and names are not
    showing.

  • Hd6850 graphics glitch

    Hi
I'm starting to get graphics glitches with my card (under 1 year old). For example some textures in BF3 appear to have white dots over them (but others seem fine). I have never overclocked my card and it is running from a 650w powersupply. I installed speccy to check the temp and they average 45-55c when not gaming, in game they go from 64-78 on average with highest reached at around 83c.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be - please ask if you require further info
notice it is only inside the cockpit, and it does seem to improve if I increase the post AA settings in game
    regards

Card seems to be running very hot. I installed furmark last night and ran it for about 15 secs before the card reached 96c. The fan is set to auto and always seems to be on about 50-60% when browsing web and jumps to 80% when gaming.
Games seem to have lost FPS and texture issues as shown in first post - No crashes though

  • PS CS6 issue with crop tool: graphic glitches

I am using Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 and I'm experiencing an issue with the crop tool. Whenever I use the crop tool, move the frame around and then zoom in on the image, the image becomes noisy, pixelated or has other 'graphic glitches'. I changed the PS preferences to not use the GPU and then rebooted the computer. Still the same issue without the GPU.
Running on Mac OS 10.8.3, iMac 2011 with AMD Radeon HD 6970M.
Is there another workaround to use this tool until it might get fixed? Thank you.

I've seen the same issue from time to time on windows 13.01.1 usually only on rather large pixel dimension documents.
Does it make a difference if you flatten the image before using the crop tool?
Also, using the classic mode for the crop tool doesn't seem to have that glitch.

  • IMac crashes on startup or freezes with graphical glitches

    Hi,
My early 2009 24" iMac suddenly crashed a few days ago, while browsing on the internet with no major app running. It did so with graphical glitches, like coloured dots. Since then, it would always shut down suddenly every time I restart. It shuts down right after the Apple logo and the wheel, once even reaching the user selection screen for a second, then shutting down before I could even move.
I started it in safe mode and ran all the checks, it says the volume is fine. When checking disk permissions, it did give me a few error messages but let me do the repairs. Weird thing is when I ran the disk permission verification again it showed me the same permission, as if they hadn't been repaired.
Now I backup everything and tried to reinstall OS X but to no avail, it kept doing the same thing.
So I formatted the disk, zeroed it out and reinstalled Mavericks. Same thing keeps happening, which seem to indicate some kind of hardware failure, right?
On one occasion it did start up but after a few seconds it froze, with heavy glitches (see picture attached - sorry it's upside down but it doesn't make a huge difference anyway!).
I upgraded the iMac with new RAM a year ago or so, and 2 years ago it had a hard drive failure, so I replaced the HD. Never had any problems in general, apart from when I had to replace the HD of course. It's always been very stable and well behaved.
Any idea what the problem could be? I'm not looking forward to having to fork out £1500 for a new one...

http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/ may be worth reading before you visit Apple. I don't thibk you'd be the first to argue that an expensive, quality computer ought to last more than 5 years, albeit that say, mechanical hard drives inside might need replacing.

  • Graphics glitches occurring with the GeForce 9400M?

Has anyone seen the same type of graphics glitches occurring with the GeForce 9400M in the new MacBooks that occurred in the MacBook Pros with GeForce 8600M GT?
The link to that previous issue is here: http://apcmag.com/appleacknowledges_macbook_pro_graphics_glitch_offersfix.htm
When viewing web pages with both Safari and Firefox, the page gets corrupted when I scroll down with the trackpad (this does not happen when scrolling with arrow keys). Any type of animation or video on a page is also really jumpy and flashes in and out.
It sounds like this was a hardware issue with the graphics card in the last version of the MBPs. Has anyone seen this issue in their new MacBooks?

    Hi there,
the same issue on my new MBP Late 2008. First, it happens in Safari, then I tried Firefox and there it was too. I switched the graphics to the second GPU (the better) and it seems the problem were solved. Back on the mobile GPU it never happened again.
I've never tried, but I think the problem occurs when to much Apps are opened and the Mac runs out of memory. The logout for switching the graphics gave the memory back and the better GPU has it's own memory.
