Graphic Image for Folder Image in Finder

I have created a few folders in finder\applications to group apps together. For example, I have created a folder for iLife apps. When I open Applications, the iLife group shows as a plain folder image labeled iLife. I would like to customize the folder image by adding my own graphic. Is there a way to do this? View options only lets me choose a photo for the background which is not what I want.

OK, I used to do this manually by slected Arrangeby name form the view menu, since you mentioned it i have now selected view by name through the View Options menu item not sure if that will make a difference,

Changing the linked image for the Image Matte Key doesn't work

When I change the linked image for the Image Matte Key in Photoshop, the link does not change in my Premiere Pro CS6. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times going into the Image Matte Key setting and locating the new matte in Explorer (each time having to re-locate the folder that the matte is in) to see it within the premier monitor. Any suggestions?

The commands work correctly here on the same OS etc: Cycle Locators jump to the next/prev marker and the Playhead jumps to the Start of the Marker.
Default KC are Control Command +Arrow Left/right

What is the best graphic format for an image being used in LiveCycle?

I have been asked by IT to create images for someone developing forms in LiveCycle. I am using Illustrator to create them. I am very unfamiliar with LiveCycle. I just learned of its existence about an hour ago. I was going to assume that since it is Adobe, then vector would work but it seems from other posts that there are only four options. I am worried about lossness and graininess. This is unfamiliar territory and unfortunately, my time for doing this is short (shocker). Any advice would help.

Thumbnail images for file icons in finder windows

Is there are way to automatically create thumbnails for images imported into iPhoto that will also appear in finder windows? When I save images in Photoshop, a thumbnail of the image is created and appears as the icon image of the file. However, when I import images from my camera or another storage device into iPhoto, only the generic JPEG icon appears in the finder window.
Is there a shortcut to create thumbnails of image files that will appear in finder windows? Is there a way to batch create these thubmnails?

In any Finder window go View Menu -> Show View Options -> Show Icon Preview.
Are you using this to try and find pics in the Finder? If so, it might help to know that there are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size.
3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Set default image for no image found

Hi Folks,
I have a folder full of images and when en images is called form that directory and not found I would like the default image to show up.
I have added an HTAccess file with this content:
ErrorDocument 404 default.jpg
And added a default.jpg image in the directory.
I have used this approach successfully on a few other sites but in this instance when I open a page with a missing photo I still get the standard ugly missing image icon. However, if I open that image in a new tab I get a page with the text 'default.jpg' on it.
NOt sure why that happens but I guess it's something about it being a different hosting set up. Perhaps there is another way to do this that will work on this set up.
Anyone got an idea how I can fix it?

If I remember well, in the Report Attributes, you should select the linked column. At the link image, there are 2 edit images(the default is the big one), but there is one more image which is smaller.

Messages Opening Image Cache Folder when Sending Files

Messages / iChat seems to be opening my image cache folder every time I send an image to my contacts the image cache folder opens in Finder and stays open with the copied image. Is there a way to get rid of this? It's really annoying. It started happening after I updated to Mavericks.

Where are they from?
I get them zipped when sending a pic dragged from a Browser or from iPhoto but not from the Desktop or a Finder window.

Disc Utility and Images for an iMovie project.

I am trying to make an image from an iMovie project so I can burn later to a DVD. When in Disc Utility ( DU ) I go to File - Disc Image From Folder, then I find the folder I created that contains my iMovie project. I click on that folder and it opens up showing my iMovie icon - the one with star on it- in another window, but the Star Icon is greyed out. Anyway, I proceeded making a disc image and read over my options, I choose just " read " and I also choose for a " CD/DVD Master " All proceeded and finished and the image was made. Then I burned that image using Disc Utility and ejected the DVD. When I re-inserted the DVD to try on DVD Player in mounted on the desktop and it was called " Movie Folder " (which was the folder I previously had named earlier) the DVD Player gave me the "stop symbol" and it said " Supported Disc Not Available " Should I have chosen a different option then CD/DVD master or is it because the iMovie Star icon was greyed out and not highlighted as the Folder itself was ? Hope this makes sense ! Eric

iDVD is not allowing me to burn a copy, whether I
export, drag and drop, whatever.
Have you tried setting iDVD to make a disk image file, instead of burning a DVD directly?
The iMovie goes in
fine to iDVD and then I burn ( try ) it almost
completes the process and the Blue Bar is full and
the Burn Wheel stops turning, then any movement of

As far as the Disc Image, whats up there, are you

You can burn the output files created by iMovie but they won't play in a DVD player or with the DVD Player application. QuickTime Player should play them. DVD Player will only play a movie, from the hard drive or a DVD, after it has been processed into DVD format.

How can I have a background image for reference ?

I need to register align horizontally and vertically) about 100 images to the first. I don't want to stack or merge them. An ideal way to accomplish this would be to be able to set the first image as a background reference image for all images in the group. There would be left/right buttons so I could advance through the stack, a slider to adjust the visibility of the foreground image, and up/down & right/left arrows so I could move the upper image a pixel at a time in any direction. In this case I don't need to rotate the image, but this would also be something a person might want to control. Then I would move through the group of images, stopping on each one to align the image to the first. One at a time, or after I am done, it would save all the aligned images to a new filename and folder, without changing the transparency of the image or in any way using the background reference image. Without rotating the images, every pixel in the new image would be the same as in the original, except moved. I would start by resizing the canvas of all the images so they have a border area. This way I can move the image around and not lose any of it.
Of course I could put the reference image in the background layer and the image to be adjusted above it on another layer. Then i can use the background as a reference by making the upper image somewhat transparent. Finially I could delete the background layer and save the image with just the adjusted layer. But this would be tedius with 100 images, even worse if there were 1000..
Is there a reference background image capability in Photoshop CC ? Is there a better or different way to do this ? Or can Bridge do it ?

When I first posted this I had selected Photoshop as the community. After it had posted I saw it had changed and again changed it back to Photoshop. it again reset it to Premier Pro. I don't know why. Also, I had selected Refrence image as a tag and that keeps dissappearing. Even worse, there are no replies. What's the deal ?

To retain color space value for Monochrome images during flattening.

In our project, we are extracting image content from PDF file and doing some raster operation by using LeadTool and then flattening the processed image in PDF file.
Input PDf file: One page which has monochrome image
For extracting image content from PDF file, we are using below Acro Plugin API:
AVConversionConvertFromPDFWithHandler
After this, we will perform some raster operations by using LeadTool and then flattening will happen.
While doing flatten we are performing below operations in sequence:
1. Set bitspercomponent =1.
2. Create a new color table using DeviceRGB.
3. Create image by using below Acro Plugin API:

1.how to import the image by using java APPLICATION and display it on the textarea that you have been created.
2.how to store the image into the file.

You can use Graphics package for importing images in Java applications. But I am afraid you cannot display it on Text area, you can display it on JPanel, or JLabel or some container like this.

New Folder Image Looks Like Document Image

I read somewhere that you could change icons to anything you wanted. I went ahead and did this and it went perfectly. I then looked into this further and found that you could change the defult folder image to anything you wanted, so that when you created a new folder it wouldnt be the boring blue. I followed the instructions and went to the following folder:
/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/
In this folder, I found the icon called GenericFolderIcon.icns. I replaced that with the same name and restarted the dock using the killall Dock command in terminal, nothing happened and I tried some similar things until I finally removed the actual icon from the Resources folder, brought it to my desktop, found the image I wanted, renamed said image, and put the new image into the Resources folder. My folders now look like a blank document, as opposed to what I wanted them to look like. Below I have attached 2 images. An image of the desired folder and an image of what the folders look like now. I also tried removing the icon image and restarting to comuter in hopes that the computer would generate a new icon, this did not happen.

You can't convert an image into a text layer. What you can do is clip an image to a text layer so that just the image layer shows up where there is text. Create a text layer, then above it put your image layer. Hold down the alt/opt key and click between the two layers to clip them.

Jpeg compression for tiff image (nt gettin a view of jpeg compressd pages)

I have a problem of jpeg compression inside a tiff file. When I convert no. of pages in a multi-page tiff file I m not getting a view of jpeg compressed pages. I convert black and white as well as gray scale jpeg images inside the tiff file. I used Compression Group4 for black and white image and JPEG compression for gray scale image. Also set the dpi of each page. But most of the viewer doesnt support my jpeg compressed pages. When I set the quality of jpeg images to 0.1f that time I m getting a view of particular images for some image viewer.
My requirement is to show the jpeg compressed image inside the IMAGING PREVIEW 2.5 VERSION. But it doesnt support for my output tiff. As well as cant get properties of that page inside the Fax viewer except Resolution 200x200 dpi.
     If anybody has any idea to compressed jpeg image inside the tiff file, please tell me how I can compress the gray scale image using jpeg compression.

I think somewhere I m doin wrong. Somewhere I wrote wrong code, cause d properties of jpeg compressd images also not getting in Fax Viewer except DPI. I change the BaselineTIFF Tags of JPEG compressed image, but cant manage output yet. I think d problem create at d time of metadata writing. My problem is tht, tiff created using sum other soft. is suppported by IMAGING PREVIEW 2.5 VERSION, y nt mine?

I am trying to make an Edge Animation work on a CMS. I used "AdobeEdge.loadComposition" to find the .JS file, but it is looking for the images in the "/image" folder. I would like to store the images in another place. Please help me accomplish this.

Here's the answer from another post. Hope it helps someone!
If you need to set an absolute folder url, or you are pulling the content from a server that does not host the content, you can manually update the <projectname>_edge.js file to specify the directory:
(function($, Edge, compId){
//images folder
var im='<SERVER/FOLDER>/images/';
Just beware that if you re-publish the files, you'll need to redo any custom modifications. I do this for off-server projects and it works very well so long as you make all the changes in each JS file where you need to specify the exact path.
