Graphic problems when I pull Status bar down

hey,
Since I upgraded to 4.4.4 I see graphic errors.
Sometimes, when I pull the status bar down some spots starts flickering and get transparent. I have to get to the homescreen, and try it again to fix this. but it keeps reoccuring.
I haven't figured out what triggers this behaviour and it doesn't happen always.
Does anybody know where the problem is and what I can do to fix this.
I hope I described my problem so that its understandable. I try to get a screenshot the next time it happens.

@ashishsingh007 - A master rest simply deletes your personal data/settings from the handset where as a firmware repair reinstalls the operating system as well. If you have not tried this I would advise doing so.

    I plan on Changing to an ATI next week. I will see if ti keeps happening and Post back.

  • Graphics problem when upgrading to LabVIEW 8

    I have just updated to LabVIEW 8, and now when I open my VIs most of the front panel widgets look like they are being rendered in 8-bit color, rather than the 32-bit that my display is set for.  Text generally looks OK, but buttons, table borders and column headers, etc. all look pixellated (sp?).  This includes the toolbar controls (run, stop, etc.).  The block diagram and everything else on the window look fine.  Any ideas as to what happened?  It all looked fine with version 7.1.
    Thanks for your assistance!
    -Joe

    (Well, JPG is not a great format to demonstrate the problem, because it can create similar artifacts by its lossy compression even if the original image is perfect .)
    The attached VI look great on my rig under LabVIEW 8.0.1, no dithering at all. (Have you upgraded to 8.0.1?).
    Personally, I would blame the graphics driver. What kind of graphics card do you have? Is ther a newer driver available? What happens if you turn down the graphics acceleration a few notches?
    (control panel..display properties..advanced..troubleshooting).
    Are you running on a lapbtop via batteries? Some graphics card optionally reduce power consumption by simplifying the graphics. (For examply my ATI Mobility Fire GL 9000 has a power setting for "Allow automatic color depth reduction").
    Try switching to 16bit color, then back to 32bit? Have you rebooted lately?

  • HD4000 graphics problems when using a very big external screen

    Hello,
    I just got a new LG 34UM95 (3440x1440) which can get connected via Thunderbolt or DVI. Screen detection and activation is working fine.
    However the screen is corrupted when moving the mouse or activating the dock animation or scrolling a window, ...
    Scenario:
    - MacBook Pro Mid 2012 (Intel HD4000),
    - MacOS X 10.9.3
    - really big external display (3440x1440) connected via Thunderbolt or DVI
    - both displays (integrated end external display) active at same time
    Problem:
    - graphic errors (framebuffer corruptions) on both screens ==> it looks like the framebuffer memory size or some DMA transfer addresses are miscalculated
    - when scaling down the external resolution to something smaller (e.g. 2560x1080) everything is working fine
    - when closing the MacBook and using the external display only the big screen works flawlessly
    ==> Could you please have a look at this and fix the framebuffer corruption?
    ==> This might also be a race condition where the HD4000 driver accesses RAM which it should not have access to and could lead to an security attack.
    Thanks,
    Maik

    I was able to use m_star's suggestion to fix this issue with my 2012 13" MBP. This is what I did to get it fixed:
    (1) Get KextBeast
    (2) Get a Hex editor like Hex Fiend
    (3) Using terminal copy AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext to the desktop (cp -r ./System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext ~/Desktop/)
    (4) Open ~/Desktop/AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleIntelFramebufferC apri with the Hex Editor
    (5) Search for "03 00 66 01 01 02 04 02 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 01", so you know what to change
    (6) Replace this sequence with "03 00 66 01 01 02 04 02 00 00 00 04 00 00 40 01", which is basically just the second last group
    (7) Save the file and close the hex editor
    (8) Run KextBeast which will install this kext to where it needs to go
    (9) Reboot

  • Graphical problems when scrolling an applet

    Hi :-)
    I'm having problems with graphical glitches on my applet.
    THe applet is located at http://www.planetside.info/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=78&page=1&index=1
    You will notice that, if you scroll up and down, occasionally parts of the applet become 'smudged' or some of the writing disappears or gets repeated a bit. I'm pretty new to java (just finished my first year on computer science) and we never really did much on applets so i'm still learning a lot :-) Any help on how to get rid of these graphical glitches would be VERY much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    I've only got one paint method and that is the main one in the base class. I've actually always disliked it. It basically contains all the location setting of all the components on the applet. I always thought these should be put in init, but whenever I do that, it fails to set their location.
    Still, this is what my paint method looks like (well, a bit of it, its long)
    public void paint(Graphics g)
             //Empire Choice
             empire.setLocation(215,21);
             //End Empire Choice
             //Implants Choice
             implants.setLocation(10,layoutArray1[29]);
             //End Implants Choice
             //Mode Choice
             mode.setLocation(177,51);
             //End Mode Choice
             //Templates Choice
             templates.setLocation(235, 81);
             //End Templates Choice
             //Implants Chosen List
             implantsChosen.setLocation(10,layoutArray1[32]);
             implantsChosen.setSize(110,60);
             //End Implants Chosen List
             //Implants Description Label
             implantsDesc.setLocation(10,layoutArray1[30]);
             implantsDesc.setSize(275,15);
             //End Implants Description Label
                etc
                etc
                etcI really think its wrong, but i've not been able to work out how to make it 'propper' (I mean, it works and everything, but it seems wrong to me). Like I said, we haven't been taught much on applets at all, so i've had to teach myself all of this :-/
    Thanks.

  • ITunes graphics problem - coverflow displays fragmented image, slows down

    I have a new 24" alu iMac and OS X 10.5.3
    Yesterday while using multiple programs (iTunes, vmware fusion, photoshop, etc) I hit the keyboard shortcut for "next song" and then suddenly my computer almost froze (it went to the next song and I could move my mouse around the screen but nothing was responding). I waited for a couple of mins and finally things started responding. But when I tried hitting the "next song" button again, it happened again (freezing temporarily).
    Finally when it unfroze and I clicked on iTunes, the coverflow display area looked all crazy with fragmented rectangles as if it had corrupted or something. I found someone else having this same problem on the macrumors board but I can't find his post again! ARG!
    Someone had suggested it was a bad GPU... but I don't have any other problems and I find it weird that it would happen to two people within a week of each other. Any ideas what could be wrong?

    Could you please send some screenshots so that we can better understand the situation.

  • 24'' iMac 2006 graphic problems

    I have an old iMac which I am planning to give away for free. It is a 2006 24 '' iMac with 2,16 GHz IntelCore duo processor. It had originally 1 GB RAM, but has now 4 GB RAM installed .
    The latest OS it had was iOS 10.7 Lion, and there were some graphic issues where parts of the screen was really odd.
    I cleared the HD and did a clean install of iOS 10.7 Lion using the recovery HD partition, The installation proscess was uneventful, and with no graphic disturbances. But as soon as I started using the machine, there was again graphic problems. I also got som of the "You need to restart your computer...." messages.
    I then again cleared the HD and did a clean install of iOS 10.6 Snow Leopard from a SL DVD. Again an uneventful installation, but the same graphic problems when using the machine.
    I repeated the proscess and did a new clean install of iOS 10.7 Lion, this time from an installation USB stick I made some years ago. Same thing.
    I then cleared the HD once again and did a clean install of iOS 10.5 Leopard from a DVD. This time I was really optimistic because everything looked so good. But after using the iMAc for some minutes, there are again graphic problems. It seems the problems are less with Leopard than the other iOS I have tried. SOme times the screen looks normal, sometimes there are horisontal stripes across the screen, and sometimes part of the screen is really disturbed.
    During the installation proscess there are no graphic issues.
    I have repaired permissons, reset PRAM and using Disk Utility to repair the HD shows nothing wrong.
    Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Is it a hardware or a software problem? I do not want to use much money or much time on this, as this is really an iMac I do not use anymore.

    It's not software. It's consistent with a graphic card/logic card problem.
    I have an iMac, and I'd be obliged if you could satisfy my curiosity. What kind of computing have you done? Pretty routine web browsing and email?  Gaming and video editing? Have the temps gone up very high at any time while using it? Did the problems happen after your latest upgrade? Have you tried downgrading the OS?
    Thanks!

  • New iMac freezing, showing Graphics problems and Wifi Problems on 1st Day

    My sister just received her new iMac - 20 inch - 500 GB drive.
    I started seeing problems during the download of the FIRST software update from apple. There was a black box in the lower left corner of the software update window where it should have been grey (or metal).
    On reboot, I also occasionally show weird flickering graphics in the lower right of the login screen.
    My new iMac also frooze about 4 different times during the installtion of various updates during the first 4 hours of use. Mouse and keyboard would not work. Once it frooze at the login screen after clicking on the user name.
    I also had wifi issues. After three hours of use, my STRONG wifi connection was lost. Moreover, I could not see any other wifi stations. (normally I would see 5 other wifi access points from my sister's neighbours). After reboot, the other wifi access points would appear including my sisters but I could NOT connect to my sister's wifi access point. It said I had an error. I checked the keychain and it showed the right key/password for my sister's wifi AP. I had to run Mac Network Diagnostics and reset wifi to get things working again.
    It sounds like a sick iMac. I know others have experienced freezing. But given all these problems, should I ask for a new imac?
    Rob
    P.S. My sister got AppleCare as well. Maybe that was a good thing...

    I had a long chat with Apple Support. It would appear that Apple's policy is not replace the computer unless it can be determined that it is a hardware problem (even though my problems started to appear right out of the box before I even had a chance to download any updates). According to the Apple product specialist, sometimes there are bad installs of the OS at the factory.
    Apple wanted me to format the drive and reinstall the OS.
    Fortunately, I did not have to reinstall the OS! I started to see graphics problems when I was asked to run the Disk Utilility off the Install DVD (so I could format the drive). So clearly there was a hardware problem.
    In retrospect, I really wish there was an Apple Store nearby to buy Apple computers. I am sure the store manager would not ask me to go home and reinstall the OS etc and try again when the computer doesn't work properly out of the box.
    Those who have Apple Stores nearby do not know how lucky they are!

  • Why am I Having Graphics Problems with the Latest Version 29.0.1 of Firefox?

    It seems like after I installed version 29.0.1 of Firefox, I'm having intermittent graphics problems I've never had before with any previous version and I don't have with any of my other browsers.
    Sometimes Firefox just scrambles the web pages on all of the tabs I have open. No other components of the Windows XP desktop have graphics problems when this happens and no other open applications seem to have graphics problems. It's just Firefox. Sometimes I can refresh the tab/page (F5) and it clears up the blotchy random graphics characters.
    Does anyone know if there were changes to the graphics engine in version 29.0.1?
    Thanks!

    Can you attach a screenshot?

    Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
    Try to create a new Boolean pref on the about:config page via the right-click context menu with the name <b>layout.paint_rects_separately</b> and set the value to true and leave hardware acceleration enabled.
    See comment 414 in bug 812695:

    That way you still have the benefit from hardware acceleration, but may not suffer from rendering issues.

    Weird issue I'm getting since installing 5.1 While in the lock screen, if I was to pull down the status bar - it's fine. Same sensitivity as before. Once I unlock my phone, trying to pull down the status bar is incredibly difficult. Takes about 5 swipes before it comes down. Anyone else having this issue? CheersMarc

  • Problem w Plug-in Check page: the "Update" button for my outdated version of the WMP plugin does not do anything, and no link is indicated in the status bar when I mouse over the button.

    In Firefox, I select Tools > Add-ons > Find Updates. The Plugin Check page comes up in the browser. The entry for the WMP Plugin indicates it is out of date. I click on the "Update" button and nothing happens. When I mouse over the button, no link is indicated in the status bar (it continues to read "Done").
    The entries for the other plugins indicate they are current. When I mouse over the "Up to date" button for each of those entries, a link is indicated in the status bar.
