Graphic scale labels and different fonts

hello all
I have a vi with 4 waveform charts on it. When I develop on one machine, a windows XP pro machine, I get the y axis labelling the way I want it, but when I move to another machine i use for development (these are home and office machines) this one a Windows 2000 Pro machine, the y axis scaling on the charts is ruined, specifically, the hash marks appear in with the actually label numbers. The numbers on the Y-Axis are overwriting the hash marks rather than appearing beside them as they should. And there does not appear to be anyway to fix this y axis labelling display problem short of deleting the waveform chart and making a new one, which is very cumbersome and time consuming given there are four of them as well as a n
umber of Property nodes for each, all of which have to be re-wired etc when I replace the charts.
Is there a way around this problem?

Are you using "special fonts"? Outside the basic types installed by MS?
Maybe the font you are using was not installed in the other machine, so when it looks up the "missing" font, it replaces it with the closest thing... In your case it could be "webdings" or something.
Start by checking if the same fonts are installed in both PCs. If not you have an alternative. Find and install the missing font in your other machine, or change the font in your vi to one available on your other machine.

Polar plot scale labels and background colour

Dear Labview Forum,
I am trying to create a polar plot. However when I put the polar
plot indicator on my front panel and wire up some data and parameter
control boxes, the scale labels are missing. See polar plot
basic.VI. Are the scale labels there or are they the same colour
(black) as the background and hence not visible?
When you compare this to the polar plot demo, the background is white and the scale labels are present.
How can I control the polar plot background colour parameter?
How can I control the scale label colour and visibility?

I'm so sorry ... i am also unable to find the Propety Node... i think i mistook changing the Label/Caption bg colour as changing the whole bg colour... i'm so sorry...

How to print CWiGraph control in white background and different font?

I have a CWiGraph control in dialog. I look at your example for printing the CWiGraph control, but I don't want print the exact image like showing on the screen, I like to print the graph in white background, not the same color like graph frame and plot area on the screen. Also I want to change a label font to show on the paper. How to do that?

Hi lasers, If you are printing direct from the scanned image try the following. Select print - select options - Printer Properties - Advanced - There will be an option to print in greyscale in this menu. I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can help with anything else. Many Thanks,Francheska

JList with items having different fonts

Does anyone know how I can create a list of items, and have some of them shown in bold?
JList only uses the one font for all its items.

To pass font info to the renderer you have 2 choises:
1) extend JList, so that your one has some property defining the font (based on the index) and a render using it (like a Vector<Font>)
2) put objects of a specific complex type in the list, each containing the label and the font; having the render (extending the default one) like +if (instanceof myType){ ... } else return super.getListCellComponent...+ (or whatever the name of the method, I don't remember)
One last thing: defaultRenderer returns JLabels so you can use html in it. I guess you can use default renderer populating list with strings like +<html><font ..>value+. This only works fine if the index is self-explanatory in your logic, otherwise losing logic, plus the effort to 'extract' the actual info from formatted html value, aren't worth having not to write a very simple renderer.

This issue occurs with most of the PDFs that I open up. I am using the latest version of adobe reader on my windows based machine and it is a general PDF. I saw a similar post online stating that if you look at the fonts used in the document and it doesn't say (Embedded) next to it, then Adobe Reader will try to pull the font(s) from your computer and if it doesn't find that font then it will replace it which makes it look funny.

Can I show different fonts and colors text on 1 multi-line text fields?

I created a PDF from a Word document that used Cambria font, and when I select it in Acrobat to try to change the font I get "The change to a different font was not done because the chosen font and the font encodings in the document differ and could not be resolved"
How can I change the font and why is it preventing me from doing so?

No, Acrobat is not a word processor.
More to the point Acrobat lets one "work" PDF and PDF is not a file format designed as a word processing, editing, formating, or page layout file format.
PDF is, essentially, a "final destination" format.
What it is is described in the ISO Standard for PDF (ISO 32000-1).

I've noticed some people use a different font for numbers in headings and TOCs to get some extra magic. Is there any way to automate such use of fonts in the paragraph styles?
Oh, and any suggestions on what fonts would be good for numbers?

I was merely continuing on the original theme -- any digit in any character style. It was only later revealed that (a) the OP needed old style figures, and (b) those were available in his font from the start.

Illustrator's font is different for some reason and hard to read, I need to change it so i can read all the tabs and file names. Like file, edit, options, type, select, effects..... swatches, layers.. every tab is in a different font that is hard to read

Photoshop CS3 font size of "label" and "description" of printed file

How do you change and manage the font size of the "label" and "description" ( "file" > "file info" > "description")that you can opt to have printed above and below your photo?
After typing in the "description" via "file info", you click on "print" and check off the "label" and "description" options.
I'm using a Dell PC and an Epson CX3810.
My instructor says that he's not been able to find out how to manage the font option.

As a messy workaround you could put a simple string indicator ("classic Controls") on every tab over the page labels and change the text style/size etc. to your liking. Trouble is - the bound of the string indicator resizes while increasing the size of the text. As "size to text" doesn't work here maybe you can get the appropriate size from somewhere else. Document Bounds is not it, as I just found out. Possibly you should just use a free label, but I don't know whether their text is settable at runtime and their background can be altered.
However - I think, you get the idea. Maybe it's worth 30 min testing...

Mail returned in different font and size

Hello,
Sometimes my mails are returned in a different font and size (usually Times 12px) from the default I have set (Arial).
I know this is a "common" problem but don't know the cause?

You don't really have control over what font and size is seen by recipients of your emails, and even less over what their mail system does to fonts and sizes when it composes a return.
The important thing to remember is that Mail > Preferences does not send any font info to the recipient. To do that you must set the font for each message separately in the New Message pane. If the recipient also has html mail enabled, then they will most likely see the font and size you have chosen.

I import a document and it is in a different font when I look at it in pages

I import a document into Pages and when I view it in pages it is a MUCH different font.
WHat can I do to correct this?

One possibility is that the font from the imported document is not available in the iCloud version. Therefore another font is being substituted. You could either change the font in the source document or in the iCloud version.
