Graphic Upgrade Problem with K430 desktop - Unresolved!

Hi,
Xmas 2012 I purchased a Lenovo IdeaCentre K430 Desktop from PC world.
PC World said it would be upgradable if I need to upgrade it.
The system is:
Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
16.0 GB DDR3
1.8 TB Hardrive
Windows 8
Geforce GT 640
I recently purchased Crysis 3 and its not running very well, so I brought a Geforce GTX 660.
However when I installed and rebooted the PC, I was greated with a blank flashing screen?
other people have simular problems on the GeForce forums.
I have since took the card back PLUS 3 MORE for a refund, and very dissapointed that I can't upgrade this PC.
CAN SOMEONE AT LENOVO PLEASE REPLY WITH A LIST OF 'MODERN/LATEST GRAPHIC CARDS, THAT ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THIS MODEL STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX?
CHANGING THE BIOS SETTINGS DOES NOT WORK FOR ME!
It's been almost 2 years and I've still not found a compatible card, so much for the Ultimate Upgradable PC!

You should have no problem if the GPU upgrades that you will do is within this Compatible Video cards for K430 found on the K430 Maintenance Manual .

Anybody has Problem with CC desktop app update?

here are some soultions, which helped me out on my first trouble:
CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed
Good luck (I have new problems today which could not be solved by one of those)

Problem with plasma-desktop

After upgrading to kde 4.7 I've a problem with plasma: after login my screen is black with no panel. If I open a terminal and i launch plasma-desktop I obtain the following errors:

Why plasma isn't running after login?

So dbus has to be the first daemon placed in the rc.conf list?
Yesterday evening I tried to delete the file /home/giacomo/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc and reboot: at new kde startup the screen was black but there were a panel in the low edge of the scrren, so plasma-desktop was running, but the desktop backgroung was not set. I re-apply all my settings (comic strip, cwp and system monitor) and at the next reboot plasma crashed again.
When I come back to home I try to deactivate plasma activities and to change my rc.conf.

Synchronization Problems with BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5v and Windows Mail Client

BlackBerry (RIM) Desktop Manager 4.5v synchronization setup does not work properly. I cannot synchronize my desktop calendar because the only desktop application formats available are (<None>, Ascii Import/Export and Yahoo), Windows Mail is not an option!
I contacted BlackBerry and the only response I received was that I need the Outlook Express program to synchronize my desktop calendar.
Microsoft upgraded from the Outlook program to Windows mail to provide a better program, which I happen to like! The idea of purchasing the Outlook Express software when there is nothing wrong with my current mail program does not make any sense to me! And will BlackBerry support any Vista system issues if there are any compatibility problems with the old Microsoft mail client?
Has anyone contacted BlackBerry about this issue? Any ideas how to fix this problem?
Why can’t Blackberry (RIM) resolve the synchronization issue? In addition to this problem, you may find that the Desktop Manager Device Switch Wizard does not function with the Treo 650 and BlackBerry 8830 and the Advanced feature in Backup and Restore does not seem to save the any files that you want to restore.

You can only synchronize contacts with Windows Mail - you can not synchronize calendar, memos, or tasks. Outlook express does not have these items, and the version of Windows Mail that I am running also does not have them. Windows Calendar is seperate from windows mail on my version of Vista.
So to clarify it all, downgrading to Outlook Express will still not get you calendar synchronization as it does not have a calendar.

10.6.8 Upgrade Problems with Google Display Error post install

Hi -- I just upgraded my IMac to 10.6.8 in anctipation of migrating to Mountain Lion later this week.   While the installation went very smoothly, it seems I am having a problem with the Google display.    When I open Google, the search box has no lines around it and when I enter the box, it jumps to the Google search in the menu bar, and I can't read what I'm typing.
I've tried a multitude of other sites where there are search boxes, log in boxes, etc, but I am only having problems with Google.   Any thoughts?

boy these forums really help you out. having similar issue and no one seems to have a clue why 10.6.8 screws everything up. I did notice the active directory plugin version changed from 6.5 to 6.5.1. They did something.

When I installed them (java and IRM) on Windows 8 Professional, IRM stops print spooler service, and block our clients to print anyting, and add a new printer by clicking ADD PRINTER button under Devices and Printer section. This is the visible face of the issue. However, I believe it affects more than one service on Windows 8 Pro. we did not have any problem with Windows 7 pro, but have a lot of with Windows 8 pro. Does anyone have same / similar experience with the same platform? Thanks for all helps

Sync problem with Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac

Can someone help. I have synchronization problem with my contact in the Outlook for Mac using blackberry desktop software for mac. Seems all details in my blackberry handheld contact got synchronized, but not email addresses (so all names, jobs, companies, work phone, mobile - all got synchronized, but not email addresses). All data is in my handheld. I wish I could just "replace" (not merge/sync) outlook contact with all contact in the handheld but seems there is no option to do that. Upgrade problems with vista

Just loaded Itunes newest version to my vista system and now when I play songs they become choppy. It may play great for about 5 minutes then it will become choppy for about 5 to 10 seconds then play fine.
My other laptop with xp plays perfect with the same exact library. Wondering if any else has similiar issues.

I think because the upgrade that was just created for vista is so new maybe the bugs havent all been worked out yet. I plan on waiting a while before downloading it to my new vista laptop. I'm a little paranoid because I don't want to have any problems with it so soon.

Problem with synchronizing desktop software with Lotus Notes

Problem: synchronizing between blackberry storm and my pc with the desktop manager. During the settings of the configuration is asked for the location of the NOTES.INI file. The configuration program finds the NOTES.INI file it's self.
After selecting the NEXT button I get an announcement that the NOTES.INI file can't be opened and the configuration stops.
I don't know what to do to select the right file or setting so the desktop manager can synchronize with my blackberry.
I hope somebody can help me with this problem.

BI 7 Upgrade - Problem with Authorisation Variable on Compounded Char

Dear All,
We have just upgraded our DEV environment from 3.5 to BI7 and have encountered a weird problem with 1 of our authorization variables.
Our authorization check variable checks the values from a table that the users are allowed to use (which includes the selection screen). There are 2 variables 1 for the uncompounded char and 1 for the compounded char, the uncompounded variable is working just fine but not the other. When the user tries to pick a value, they are presented with not just their restricted list but ALL the values.
Can anyone explain this? Has BI 7 changes the way authorizations work with Compounded Characteristics ?
Before anyone asks, these variables work just fine on 3.5 and are working just fine in our QA and PRD environments.
Help required urgently.

Leopard Upgrade Problem with Mail

I'm trying to upgrade an iMac G5 to Leopard, but am having problems with the mail installation. Leopard is running fine on the machine, but is getting hung up on the initial opening of the Mail application. A window pops up saying "preparing to import messages." I've tried fixing permissions using the utility application, to no effect. I seem to remember this being a problem when Leopard was first released, but I can't find any info addressing the issue.

Are you saying that the system hangs at "preparing ..." and does not proceed?

[Solved] Can't install kdemod - problem with xine.desktop

Hi,
today I tried to install kdemod, but got some problems with it. It couldn't be installed because of files conflict:
/usr/share/kde4/services/phonombackends/xine.desktop in 'phonom' and 'kdemod-kdebase-runtime'. What's wrong with it?

Were there graphics card problems with the 2006 Mac Pros?

I'm curious about the ATI 2600 graphics card issues occuring with the new Mac Pro's using Leopard...
Did this just start occuring or were people also having problems with the NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT cards on the 2006 Mac Pro's while running Tiger?
The reason I'm asking is my Dual 867 has finally given up the ghost and needs to be replaced and I have the opportunity to buy a new 2 Dual-Core 2.66GHZ Mac Pro with Tiger loaded in lieu of the newer, problem ridden models.

Problem with Remote Desktop on iPad 2 and windows 8.1 pro

I downloaded the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the App Store on my iPad 2. I typed in the IP address for my windows 8.1 pro computer on my iPad 2 in school to try connecting to my windows 8.1 pro computer at home. I'm having
a hard time doing it. Do I need a rd remote gateway to access my computer from outside my local network. If so, how do I find my gateway server name? Also, I saw somewhere that I have to press accept in a pop up message on the computer your trying to connect
to. Is this true? No one is home during the day and my iPad 2 has to stay in school. Can you please give me a step by step guide with photos to help me connect to my windows 8.1 pro computer from my iPad 2 from school, which is of course outside my local network.
