Graphic watermark help

Hello
i made a graphic watermark with photoshop
the document size i checked is 1200 x 1200 pixels
i exported it as png to use it in lightroom as watermark
it is impossible to place it at the bottom
how do i place it where ever i want to?
when i scale it to fill the picture, it will go in the upper part of the picture
when i try to change the position with the little grid i can push it down until the middle of the picture but not more
how can i do?
do i have to change the photoshop document size?
if so, how can i do it without altering the graphic i just did?
it took me too long to do it again
thanks for your help
matteo

In the watermark Editor you need to select an anchor point. Perhaps try the center point and then experiment with proportional and fit rather than using fill.
You can also create some horizontal and vertical inset, which may help.

  • Help! When in "graphic watermark" setting, how do I remove white box around my watermark? Already saved in PNG

I'm trying to upload a saved graphic watermark to my photos in Lightroom 4 but no matter what I do, I can't get the white box around the watermark to go away. I've already tried saving the watermark file in PNG like other sites suggested but it does no good. Other sites tell me I need to save the watermark in another version of adobe and check the box "transparent" but Lightroom is the only version of adobe I have. Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have also been trying to solve the same problem.  Where does one take an already created watermark and make it transparent?  I have Photoshop on my old Mac and e-mailed my solid white background watermark to myself, opened it in Photoshop and "erased" the white background.  Transfered it back to my Lightroom on my MacBookPro and exported the test photo w/ the "erased" background watermark.  I had no idea if it would work….it did not.  OR : How does one create a transparent watermark?  I have a graphic I want to use w/ my name.   Please HELP!!!

  • Graphical watermark quality issues in Lightroom 3.3

I am having issues with the graphical watermark quality in Lightroom 3.3 (.png file). It seems to be resizing the imagine stranglely and creating aliasing on the font. This is happening on a Windows Vista machine. If I use the same watermark file and LR settings on a Windows 7 machine, the issue is not seen.
Here's an example. Note the jagged text as well as the top two lines spanning through the logo being darker than the rest: http://www.alisagarinphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/kaufmann-9202.jpg
And here's the same watermark file and settings from the Windows 7 machine (no quality issues): http://www.alisagarinphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/IMG_6043.jpg
Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Sure does! http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Lightroom/3.0/Using/WS43660fa5a9ec95a81172e08124a15d684d-7fff. html
I will give that a try - although it would defeat the purpose of having transparency in the watermark. Perhaps it will reveal an issue with the resizing of transparent png files.
Otherwise I think my next step would be to see if reinstalling lightroom will help anything - although it's very unlikely.
@PeterHolcombe - what system are you seeing this on? Also a Windows Vista machine?

  • How to add a graphic watermark that is bigger than the photo?

How to add a graphic watermark that is bigger than the photo?
Basically I want to add a watermark that is a border, like "outside stroke" so that it doesn't clip the photo.
Upper, left and right side are 10px and on the bottom is my signature that is 40px high. I know how to do this in Photoshop, but can't figgure it out in Lightroom.
The inset function with negative numbers doesn't work, because it only export to the size of the exported image, instead it should resize the image with those 10px up, left and right and 40px on      the bottom.
My bordes look like this either one of the two can be used, and if you scroll down you will se how the end result should look like.
And below is what it should look like, so that Lightroom doesn't clip the photo.

Are you sure the focus of your piano roll is on the right track? Are you zoomed in/out enough?

  • Does an upgraded graphics card help stability within FCP?

I have been having some issues, working on a documentary about two hours long shot on Sony EX-1. The timeline contains a mix of footage (24 1080p, 30 1080p, 24 720p, 30 720p) all rendered to 30fps ProRes 422. No effects at this point, mostly just the transcoding during render.
It crashed when I export through compressor to DVD, and will not render the whole project without crashing. Sometimes, when I select just a portion of the project to render, within the main timeline, once it is done renedering that section, it looses the rest of the render for the entire project.
All this points me to some hardware issues, probably ram, but i have been advised to purchase a high end graphics card to carry the burden of exporting. (currently using the stock ATI Radeon HD 2600) As far as I have known, a graphics card holds no bearing on this process. I know a new graphics card helps a lot in Motion, AE and such, but I am only concerned about editing in FCP at this point.
Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

Are you mixing formats and resolutions in the timeline? If so, you might consider converting all the the same format before editing.
Try exporting a selfcontained quicktime and then bringing that quicktime into compressor.
Oh yeah, make sure you don't have any cmyk graphics.

  • Identity Plates Should Export as Graphical Watermarks

Its surprising adobe completely missed the boat on graphical watermarking in LR and CS3. Actions and Droplets are clumsy at best. Many professional photographers watermark their images before posting online or hard proofing. I guess I will turn to the mogrify plugin and give it a try.
What I want to do is simple - take my webaddress and merge it with a circle c at 20% opacity and have it land centered on the bottom of Horizontal and Vertical images in the same place. Droplets bounce it around as if pasted by a blind man. It fails to recognize repositioning the paste in the action list and just drops it wherever when running the droplet. I didn't even mention that I had to create separate droplets for Vertical and Horizontal images and separate them in explorer by "arrange by dimension"
CS3 YOUR FIRED - I cant trust you to watermark images!!!
And Light Room buddy - identity plates was a good idea - but your still on the dock and the boat's in the harbor.

We've only been asking for this since the Beta ! days one and a half years ago. Currently your best bet LR Mogrify from

  • ANN: More Mogrify Magick - Graphical watermarks.  + Opinions on sharpening requested.

    Hi,
    I've just released version 1.3 of LR/Mogrify.
This version adds a feature that's been requested here before: graphical watermarking!
Via the user interface you can select the watermark, choose to resize it, define it's position on the image and the overlay mode used.
You can download it here: http://timothyarmes.com/lrmogrify.php
Sharpening after resize has also been requested, however I'd appreciate some feedback here before I add it. Mogrify has two commands to control sharpening, the -sharpen option has the advantage of being simple to use (http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/convolve/#sharpen) whereas the -unsharp command has 4 parameters.
Since this isn't an interactive operation I feel that the -sharpen option is the best choice. Batch processing images with -unsharp doesn't make any sense to me. However, it's now open for discussion...
    Tim

You are absolutely right. It seems this is a bug in the version of ImageMagick that gets installed by macports (6.3.6). That version will not recognize a profile in the image even if it is there and simply tag the image with the new profile if you only supply the destination profile. It works correctly if you specify both source and destination. If, however, you install from the latest source from the Imagemagick website, which is 6.3.7-10, you'll get a version if ImageMagick that works correctly where you'll only have to specify the destination. I just tested this on my home machine and my /opt/local/bin/mogrify works incorrectly (you have to specify both) and my /usr/local/bin/mogrify (the one I compiled myself) only needs the destination profile.
    Hope this helps

The way I have done this is create my watermark with something like Photoshop that has the graphic and text in one file. Then I have applied that file when exporting from LR.

  • HP Envy 15 Graphics Problem with Windows 8.1 (Intel and NVidia Graphics). Help!

I bought an HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j013ea about 6 months ago and I have had a major problem with the graphics that I cannot seem to solve. I think it started when I updated to Windows 8.1, even though I am not 100% certain.
I have noticed the following three problems, and I think they are related:
Some windows (such as Chrome, Skype, or even Device Manager or other windows) are very blurry compared to others.
The firefox menu window has some deformed black arrows instead of the normal ones.
When playing a game (specifically, Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2), after a while I get an error that the computer has ran out of memory. However, according to task manager, only about 50% is in use, not to mention that I have 8 GB of RAM + 2 GB graphics memory. At the same time, the computer gets rather loud (like a fan working overtime) and hot.
The laptop has both Intel and NVidia graphics, and both are enabled in Device Manager. To be honest, I have no idea which is used when, or how to check that (let me know if there is a way)
I have tried the following without success:
Uninstalling the Intel graphics driver from device manager and installing a version I downloaded from the HP website for my laptop and OS. After that, Windows would NOT BOOT, and I had to do a system restore.
Uninstalling the Intel graphics from Programs and Features, and installing 2 different versions from the Intel website. Nothing changed.
Updating Nvidia driver through GeForce Experience. Nothing changed.
Updating Intel drivers from Windows Update. Nothing changed.
Quite frankly I am not sure what the problem could be, since the graphics versions are supposed to be compatible with WIndows 8.1. I also don't get why some windows are blurry and others are not. I am thinking the computer uses only the Intel graphics and not the Nvidia (at least in the blurry windows), but even if that was the case (and it shouldn't be), I don't think I should be having this problem.
At this point, I really need help. My graphics details are:
Intel HD Graphics 4600: Driver version: 10.18.10.3412
NVidia GeForce GT 740M: Driver version: 335.23
    NVidia GeForce Experience version: 1.8.2
I am attaching screenshots that show driver details and the problems.
    Thank you.
    Blurry Chrome:
    Firefox menu problem:
Device Manager and driver windows are also blurry, both graphics are shown

I had a similar problem with a Dell laptop.  I found the problem was the laptop wanted to switch between the Intel and NYIDIA video cards.  It would switch to the Intel when high graphics was not required then to the NIVIDIA when high graphics was required.  The laptop does this to save power when high graphics is not required but it caused problems with some applications, specifically high graphics games.
For me the solution was to disable the Intel graphics processor.  You can do this by right clicking on your Wallpaper, select the NIVIDIA Control Panel, then select Set Physx Configuration.  You will see a dropdown box labeled Select Physx Processor.  It is set to Auto by default.  This allows the switching I described. Select this dropdown box and select your NIVIDIA processor.  This will prevent the laptop from switching and force it to use your NVIDIA processor exclusively.
    Hope this helps.

  • Will Graphics Card Help Aperture on Mac Pro?

I've been using Aperture for many years on a variety of Mac hardware. I have 5 or 6 image libraries, ranging in size from 50gb to 250gb. I have no referenced images, do not use "faces" or other CPU-intensive features, and often perform tasks which reportedly improve Aperture performance (deleting caches, repairing/rebuilding libraries, defragging hard drives. deleting prefs). While these tricks often result in a snappy experience on relaunch, Aperture returns to its sluggish ways after a few minutes of work.
My workflow is very simple -- I plug in my camera, download photos to the HD, and then edit them, which consists of adjustments such as exposure, white balance, sharpening, rotating, cropping. I don't do much retouching, red eye, or other fancy editing. Occasionally I use the "external" edit feature to retouch in Photoshop. I shot for many years with a Canon Rebel, 14MP I believe, and recently got a Nikon D800. I am finding the performance going through D800 raw files (not even editing, just flipping through them) unacceptable. For example, if I go to hybrid list/preview view, and press the "down" key 10 or 15 times, by the 5th image, there is a very noticeable lag, and often the display beachballs for 10 seconds or more before it gets to the bottom of the list. Basic tasks such as cropping or rotating often lock the display for long periods of time.
For many years, I blamed Aperture's awful performance on my hardware. I worked on a series of Mac laptops. Although I usually had the latest hardware, they were no desktop. Recently, I bought a Mac Pro with a 3.2GHz Quad-Core Xeon processor, 16GB of ram, an OWC SSD (for the system -- the libraries are on a 7200RPM drive), and a ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card. I was dismayed to find out that Aperture is STILL unbearably slow. If I can't simply flip through some photos on a top of the line Mac Pro, what is this program good for?
My question now is, would I see a significant performance gain if I were to upgrade yet again to a faster graphics card, such as the Radeon 7950? I've been reading up on these cards, and it seems like native support is coming in 10.8.3. While I hesitate to pour more money into my quest for a useable Aperture system, I wonder if this would finally show some significant performance gains. I've read conflicting reports from other users who've upgraded the graphics card. Is the advantage mainly for 3D or gaming applications or would this help Aperture too?
Thanks in advance for any replies!

In the past Aperture has been very GPU-dependent. The very best G5 tower would bog on Aperture unless the stock GPU card had been upgraded. I expect current Aperture also to benefit from a stronger GPU but I do not have absolute info on that. And your existing 5770 is not a lame card.
I know 16 GB RAM seems like a lot, but with D800 files and an Aperture/Photoshop workflow you may still be paging out to disk. My Aperture/Photoshop workflow paged out at 8 GB RAM with files 1/3 the size of the D800 files.
You should evaluate whether or not you have adequate RAM:
Look at the Page Outs number under System Memory on the Activity Monitor app before starting a typical Aperture/Photoshop work session and write the number down. Recheck the Page Outs count after working for a few hours and write the number down again. If the page outs change (manual calculation of ending page outs number minus starting page outs number) is not zero your workflow is RAM-starved.
Ignore the pie charts and other info in Activity Monitor because they are often misleading regarding RAM usage. For RAM analysis, count page outs.
If your test shows that page outs increase at all during operation you should add RAM. RAM is dirt cheap and use of additional RAM a very desirable characteristic for an Aperture/Photoshop workflow. If it was me I would double to 32 GB RAM and set PS (PS Preferences/Performance/Memory) to use 16 GB of RAM.
Hard drives slow as they fill so make sure none of your hard drives are overfilled. I suggest 70% full as an arbitrary maximum but even less full is preferable for speed. If your Library drive exceeds 60% full I suggest setting a RAID 0 array on two or more identical drives to get extra capacity and speed. Of course pay careful attention to frequent Library backup.
Some apps like browsers are notorious for "leaking" memory so when doing serious images work keep non-essential applications closed. A SSD drive for boot helps because when apps open in just 3 seconds there is no reason to keep extraneous apps open.
    HTH
    -Allen
P.S. I strongly recommend that original images be fully backed up before importing into Aperture or any other images management application.
P.P.S. Makhe sure you have a properly set PS Scratch Disk assigned on a fast underfilled drive, and empty the scratch disk routinely.

  • Mac Pro 3, 1 Upgrading Graphics Card Help!

Hello to all and I first apoligize before hand incase there is a similar post.
I am currently in the mix of getting myself a new graphics card and upgrading the RAM I have on my early 2008 (3, 1) Mac Pro and dont know what I am looking at.
My current specs are as follows:
    Model Name: Mac Pro
    Model Identifier: MacPro3,1
    Processor:  2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory:  4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics:  ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB
    Software:  OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
I am currently having issues with not waking up from sleep and the performace with the graphics card rendering and fps in games are very poor. Tired of having all of my video settings on low.
I play League of Legands, Dota 2, Portals, CounterStrike . . . etc. There are a lot of different options now for cards than ever before but I am looking to stay within a budget. For the graphics card I am not looking to spend over $400 and would love to find something even cheaper than that. I have researched many of the forms within discussions.apple, apple insider and as well have talked to a senior advisior with apple. She recomended the Nvidia Quadro FX 5600.
I specificly want something at or above 1.0 GB VRAM to handle my 2 Displays which are:
    HP 2711:
      Resolution:          1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz
    DELL 2405FPW:
      Resolution:          1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz
If anyone can point me in the right direction as to what to buy for a graphics card because I am not that well educated in that side of the computer. I can handle upgrading the RAM by myself but would also like a little push.
    Any help/response would be great!

  • Graphic card help for Pr and Ae use

    Hi there great community :)
I'm currently working with only the on-board graphic card, and of course I should upgrade as my GPU is working on 99% on large renders and they are slow...
I've been recommended the GeForce nvidia 2-4GB gtx 760, but neither the 750 or 760 are listed as supported graphic cards in the premiere cc system requirements.
Is there a reason for this or should I ignore that?
Is there a good reason for spending a little extra cash on the 4 GB vs the 2 GB card ?
What exactly will a graphic card do for my performance? (I'm not a computer expert)
My general use is premiere cc and after effects cc
    Hope you'll help. Greatly appreciated!
    Nice weekend to all :)

  • How can i get iCloud on my iPhone 3g it doesn't have software update or any graphics plz help

please help how can i get graphics and sftware download on my iphone i have no update on my ph either

If you have a 3G you can't use iCloud as iCloud requires iOS 5 or higher and the 3G cannot be updated beyond iOS 4.2.1.
If you have a 3GS, update it to iOS 6 by connecting it to iTunes.  If you aren't prompted to update, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Check for Update.  After updating you can set it up as shown here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html.

  • Super Crazy Graphics Problem, HELP!

So I posted this in the Safari Discussion Board, but then realized it happened outside of Safari.
Whenever I do something that I would think requires the graphics card, the screen goes all crazy, as if someone took a screenshot and draw all over it with MS Paint. It just started happening 5 minutes ago and I am even having trouble writing this because the craziness keeps blocking the text box. My MacBook Pro is a year and a half old now and I don't know what caused it. I was surfing in Safari and suddenly BOOM. Crazy lines and squiggles everywhere. I remember reading about this a while ago but it was concerning the iMac. Can someone fill me in? I got so scared the first time it happened that I don't even want to restart in fear the computer may explode, haha.
Here is a picture from my phone:
    http://www.timshundo.com/dpud/uploads/0420080129.jpg
As you can see, it is not a screen problem because the mouse is above all of the crap and is still movable. It isn't until I do something else, like activate dashboard, when it all goes away. HELP!

If you're unlucky you might have a hardware issue and need to go through apple service for complete diagnosis/repair. Usually when encountering a serious issue I'd check I have all my important data backed up. Next is to consider some trouble shooting/diagnosis of the issue (if you have APP, may just not want the hassle and go straight to Apple service). Apple have a step-by-step KB article on how to isolate issues in OS X on your Mac, this is a good place to start:
