Graphical Documentation Editor

I need to update some documentation for an ABAP program.  In SE38, when I select "Change Documentation" it launches the old line editor, which I find almost unusable.
How can I edit the documentation using the RTF editor?  That was the default on my old workstation, but something must have been reset on my new machine.

Thanks Rob.  When I do that, I get another message:
Unable to find template
Message no. SOFFICEINTEGRATION231
When I select "Configure Editor", it takes me to the screen that Naimesh mentioned.
Any idea what template I need to define, and where?

  • Not able to SAVE changes in Graphical Screen Editor

    Hi All,
I am not able to SAVE the changes which i do in SE51 using the Graphical Screen Editor.
    I get the below message:
    "EU_SCRP_WIN32 :connection to ctxprdcgy016.pcacorp.net"
If i use my ID on my colleagues system I am able to SAVE the changes without any error.
I am using Citrix Client to connect to remote server.
PLease if anyone has any solution

    Hi
If the connectivity speed is too slow, then you will get this error. Since you are Citrix connectivity, you will log on to client network using remote log on. This will make your connectivity slow.
There is a note for this problem and note no is  Note 133903 - Upgrade of graphical Screen Painter.

  • SAPGUI 710 Graphical Layout Editor not available in LAN

    Hi,
I recently installed sneakpreview NW04s for ABAP at home and the SAPGUI 710 software. The graphical layout editor doesn't work. I have checked all requirements such as, required dll and exe files. They are all available. The problem occurs only when I try to start the graphical editor from another pc in my LAN. If I start it on the application server where I have installed NW04s and the SAPGUI, it works fine. Only when I access to the application server from other pc in my home network, it fails to start the graphical editor. I've read that there must be a problem with firewall / port somewhere. I don't know where I can check whether this is the cause. I am using D-Link wireless for my home network.
Can anybody help me with this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Shahram

I tried SM59 and ran a connection test for EU_SCRP_WN32. It started gnetx.exe, the window appeared shortly. But, the connection failed with the following error message:

It seems that my laptop cannot establish an RFC connection to the application server. the service file on my laptop has the right entry for the application server.
    Any ideas?

  • Graphical Layout Editor

    Hi,
I am facing a problem with the Screen Painter Editor. When I am changing from the Module to the Layout, the editor is opening in the old fashion editor, so it is too difficult for me to design a screen, espacially when I have to design a StepLoop, etc. I am checking the settings (Utillities->Settings->ScreenPainter) and the Graphical Layout Editor is activated. I have try to deactivate and activate it again, but the result is the same - nothing.
Have anybody any idea?  Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with Screen Painter - Graphical Layout Editor.

    Hi Friends,
I have a strange problem with my Graphical Layout Editor. I first had the problem that the alphanumeric Editor gets displayed even the checkbox for Graphical Layout Editor is checked. Then I had gone through sdn forums and found that the <b>eumfcdll.dll</b> was missing. Thanks to sdn forums. When I copied that file into the path specified it worked fine. But the problem is my layout screen is not displayed fully. It is just displayed at the top of the window and only in that region I can drag and drop the elements. Remaining part of the window is uneditable.
what is the problem? Do I need to make any further settings?
    Regards,
    Raju.

try to re-install GUI patch .
<b>Yeah , its like CNTLALTDEL(restart) , So half of the problems get resolved.</b>

  • ABAP Dump - Graphical Layout Editor

Hi...I get an ABAP Dump when I try to start the Graphical Layout Editor (to modify a screen layout). Here are a few lines from the dump:
    <b>&INCLUDE INCL_INSTALLATION_ERROR
    What happened?
The current program had to be terminated because of an error when installing the R/3 System. The program had already requested 789763632 bytes from the operating system with 'malloc' when the operating system reported after a further memory request that there was no more memory space available.
    What can you do?
Make a note of the actions and input which caused the error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion  date.
    Set the system profile parameters
    - abap/heap_area_dia
    - abap/heap_area_nondia to a maximum of 789763632. Then reduce the value by 10.000.000 to be on the  safe side.
    Then restart the SAP System.
    </b>
    <u>Here's what I know so far:</u>
<i>- I can logon to SAP but can NOT start Graphical Layout Editor from my machine using my user account.
    - Other people can logon to SAP but can NOT start Graphical Layout Editor from my machine using their user accounts.
    - I can logon to SAP and start Graphical Layout Editor from a DIFFERENT machine using my own user account.
    - Other people can logon to SAP and start Graphical Layout Editor from a DIFFERENT machine using their own account.</i>
I have access to more than one SAP systems (different SAP instances) and I have tested the following:
<i>- I can logon to a different SAP system/server (from this same machine) and start the Graphical Layout Editor without error.
    - Other people can logon to a different SAP system/server (from this same machine) and start the Graphical Layout Editor without error.</i>
The problem is not likely with low memory on my machine because I have 2 GB RAM whereas these other computers I've tested only have 512 MB or 1 GB memory. I don't see how the problem could be with the SAP server when other people are able to start the Graphical Layout Editor from their machines and even I can start it from their machines. The problem can't be with the SAPGUI files on my machine because I can start the Graphical Layout Editor using a different SAP system/server. I am completely stumped. Any ideas??

I have already done the following:
    - Uninstall SAP GUI using the "Add Remove Programs" & reinstall it
    - Uninstall SAP GUI using the option provided by SAPGUI setup & reinstall it
    - Uninstall SAP GUI using the option provided by SAPGUI setup & rename the folder "C:\Program Files\SAP" then install it again.
    - Upgrade from SAPGUI v6.40 to v7.10. I'm now using v7.10
Don't forget that I <b><u>am</u></b> able to start the Graphical Layout Editor for a different SAP server using this same SAPGUI from this same computer. I don't think the problem is with SAPGUI but I appreciate your response.

  • Graphical layout editor for screens

I am using SAP gui 6.40 and have installed patch level 23.
Still i cannot see the graphical layout editor in se51 and only alphanumeric editor is available (the flag for graphical layout editor in utilities> settings is checked).
    any hints??
    regards,
    Priyank

    Option 1:
In your computer Go to Start > Run> Type gneux.exe > Click OK>A popup message may come containing the message "EUMFCDLL.DLL  is missing."
[Note: gnuex.exe is the responsible executable file which allows the graphical layout editor to run. So copy this particular .dll file from any other computer(in SAP system network) in which module pool is perfectly running. How to copy? Suppose in anyone's computer layout editor is running. Just Go to Start>Search results> search for the dll file EUMFCDLL.DLL. From the search result, from the specific path copy that .dll file and take it as backup on any sharable directory or any storage device.]
Copy that <b>EUMFCDLL.DLL</b> file and put it in your  own computer's \SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui location.
    Now again check.
Go to Start>Run>Type gneux.exe>Click on OK. This time any popup window containing error message won't come. But, graphical layout editor will open.
    This is just for testing.
Now on SE80 open run layout editor. If it doesn't open properly for the first time, then open & close it for 2-3 times. It'll work.
Same problem occured in my computer. And I put the copy of that particular.dll file in my computer's SAPGUI, it worked.

    Hi,
If you are not getting the screen with all the options after pressing the from layout for designing the screen and instead you are getting some damp screen. It can be a problem with the SAP GUI. You need to reinstall it in your system. Cannot help it. Contact your administrator.

  • Graphical Layout Editor not Available.

when i login to sE51 and execute the program ZAUTHSCR  and press the layout button
I am gettign a message that Graphical Layout Editor not Available.
As a SAP Administrator pls let me knwo what has to be installed for this

    Hi,
This seems a SAPGUI problem. Please check if all the development components of your SAPGUI are installed (you can do this by running the sapgui installation again and choosing the add-remove components option. From there you can check which components are installed). I think the graphical painter component has not been installed. Also apply the latest patch for your SAPGUI.
Do let us know if it works.

  • Graphical DTD editor

    Hi,
I'm planing to make an graphical DTD editor. Right now I've problem with finding a best component for text field. I'm thinking about JEditorPane or JTextField. I'm preety new with java and this project is to check out how things works. In my editor I want to put thinks like color syntax and numbers of rows.
Please give me some advice about my "task".
    Cheers.

Thx for a fast replay I'll try this. About DTD... I know that this is preety old and XMLSchema is considerable better but I just want to make a simple excercise, nothing more (and I think that DTD is more simple than XMLSchema). Perhaps my next step in future will be XMLSchema graphical editor ;-)
    Regards.

  • Lightweight graphical text editor with some features

    Dare I ask?
This is mostly for others that may be using my laptop, or when I just need to do something quick. All I really need is the basics, tabs (hopefully), and printing. No advanced find and replace with regular expressions needed, or any advanced keyboard layout. I'll have Vim for that once I know it well enough. GEdit is perfect, except that it's Gnome, which I am not ready to support. Leafpad is far too bare-bones. nedit works good, but is butt-ugly -- normally, I don't put much value here, but come on.
Last edited by Ranguvar (2009-04-01 04:08:31)

Beaver. Supports tabs, small, fast and lightweight. 0.4.0 will not require build patches as does  0.3.0.1. I do not like Leafpad (though I prefer printing through libgnomeprintui than xfprint). Its 'find and replace' is awkward whereas Mousepad does the job as expected (though Leafpad does highlight found keywords). And the red root banner of Mouspad is indispensible when editing files with multiple editor instances open.

  • Graphical editor

    Hi,
I'm trying to make a graphical DTD editor. Right now I have a little problem with moveable objects and arrows. Perhaps someone can help me with this?
I'll try to describe my problem as good as I can. First, there should be some objects like squares or circles (moveable one). Second, every object have a different meaning (like square is some kind a node or value). So we have couple of squares and circles, we're connecting them with our arrows and we suppose to have a nice DTD document. Yes, I know ... Right now I need some information how to put one object on it place (when we click on the square it stops to move and we can play with another one). Please forgive me my English but I'm not an native speaker.
    Cheers.

--- THE END OF MY STUFF ---

    Hi nordvik_
I developed a component that does exactly what you are talking about. Would you be interested in buying a copy?
This is not a simple project, but if you're determined to build it yourself, here's a few hints
    1. How are you going to represent your nodes? Will they be components? The advantage of this is that with Components its easy to set size, implement painting. The disadvantage is that it's difficult to draw lines between components, and they will likely absorb mouse events that are outside of the shape's area (unless all your shapes are rectangles)
    2. How are you going to move + resize the components? If you search google for draggable.java/resizeable.java tjacobs01 you'll find some classes that I've previously posted that drag / resize components. This may or may not be helpful
    3. How are you going to internally represent the connection lines? how are you going to draw them? How are you going to figure out start and end points?
If you're potentially interested in buying a copy of my source code, plz post your email address and I will contact you
