Graphics card not recognized

Photoshop CC
Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit
Radeon HD 7600M

8192MB RAM
Error message: Photoshop detected an error in your display driver. Update or reinstall the driver and check Use Graphics Processor to retry.
This seems to be an issue with CC, as the graphics processor is recognized just well by CS6. All settings are exactly the same in CC and CS6.

Most likely that means that the driver is returning bad information or crashing.
Have you updated the driver from AMD's website?

  • Graphics Card Not Recognized under Mavericks Update? MacBook Pro 8,2

Every since I updated my macbook to mavericks, my dedicated graphics card is not recognized under system profiler or any software on the computer. I have the Macbook Pro 8,2 (late 2011) and the upgraded dedicated GeForce graphics card from the factory. My system is just running off of the integrated intel graphics at this point and there is no option to switch back in system preferences. Is my card just dead in there or did mavericks ignore it? I have no other operating systems to check. Should I just make an applestore appointment and get it looked at?

    Found the solution ... finally!
Go to your system preferences - energy saver and then check if your Graphics setting is set to »higher performance«. Somehow the update to Mavericks change this setting to »better battery life«
Now both cards are recognized and running ... however, watch out: since I changed that setting, my fans are going crazy! ... so I'm not sure if I should keep it. It would be much easier if one could change the setting all the time without the need to logout and login again ... well, Apple though good isn't the Holy Grail

  • Dedicated graphic card not recognized

Hello there, I have bought a Lenovo G500 with a i3 3110m proccesor 4 gb RAM and an AMD Radeon 8570m graphics card. I have a very big problem now, a couple of hours ago I got a blue screen of death and since then, my dedicated graphics card isn't recognized, only the Intel one. I tried doing a system restore of yesterday when I installed some programs, that didn't work, I did another one for about a week ago, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, I even installed an older one to see if anything works, but nothing yet. Something like this happened before but I don't know how it got fixed, I'm asking for someone's help because I really don't know what to do, the notebook is only a couple of months old and I don't think it should be acting this way. Thank you.

Do you have the latest version of bootcamp? If not, download it and recreate your driver cd then when in bootcamp install the new drivers

  • Graphics card not recognized by Windows

My Mac Pro has its original nVidia 7300 and an upgraded nVidia 8800GT. A game compatibility problem suggested it was time to update the graphics drivers. Everything was working OK until I went to update the nVidia/WindowsXP driver. The Windows Device Manager only sees the 7300, and not the 8800GT. Seems odd, since the display was plugged into the 8800GT, and it worked OK except for the game. However, since Device Manager did not recognize the 8800GT, I could not update its driver. I did upgrade the 7300 driver and this fixed the compatibility problem when I moved the display to the 7300 port.
I'd like to use the better performance of the 8800GT, but Windows doesn't see it and therefore I can't procede with the upgrade. Is it possible to use this card with Windows?

Which drivers are you trying to use? the 7300 may not be compatible with the latest, and you need to use Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode to properly update graphics drivers (I saw 3DMark06 go from 5000 to 8000 as a result).

  • HELP!!!  Graphics Card Not Recognized in Windows 7

    Hey all,
I'm running a 32 bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate on my 11.6" MacBook Air (Stats Below) and for a while every once in a while I would have to reboot Windows 7 to get it to recognize the GPU. Now it won't recognize it at all and I can only get up to 1024x768 resolution. It works fine in Snow Leopard and shows up in the Windows Performance Information, but has the 320M's memory listed as Zero Megabytes. Has anyone encountered this; does anyone have a solution? Can I use the drivers Nvidia provides on their website to update?

This worked like a charm for me, thank you.  I have this problem on a fairly regular basis, and have various theories about how to prevent it... mainly that you have to unplug all your external USB devices and ethernet connection before shutting down your system... which seems to work a lot of the time, but not all the time, plus I forget to do this piece of "magic" reasonably often - and it might actually just be wrong, but it seems to have descreased the frequency of the problem.  Usually just re-installing Bootcamp over the top of itself solves the problem, sometimes not, at which picking a recent System Restore point usually does the trick... but this last time neither of those solutions worked.  Uninstalling the driver and rebooting worked!!  Smart, should have thought of that myself a long time ago.  Thanks again!!

  • GeForce4 TI Video Card Not Recognized Anymore?

For about almost a year, the fan on the GeForce4 TI video card would occasionally make a grinding noise, although it has always been easily fixed by lightly sticking a finger on the fan to stop it for a second and it would go back to normal.
However, about a month ago this little fix stopped working. The grinding noise was unbearable. After searching the Internet for a few minutes, I found out that I wasn't the only one suffering from this problem, and some even offered tips on how to replace the fan.
I followed the steps very carefully and made sure the card was not harmed. After installing the new fan, which was very easy, I stuck it back into the Power Mac and boot it up. However the monitor didn't find a signal.
I was glad that I installed Remote Desktop on the Power Mac so I was able to connect to it and see what's going on. I opened Apple System Profiler and noticed that the computer isn't properly recognizing the graphics card anymore! Instead of the very detailed information I'm used to seeing, this is what I saw below:
    pci10de,a:
    Type: VGA-Compatible Controller
    Bus: AGP
    Slot: SLOT-1
    Vendor: nVIDIA (0x10de)
    Device ID: 0x252
    Revision ID: 0x00a3
I have no clue what this means as it seems like the computer still recognizes A video card. Also this also gave me the impression that the Power Mac is missing the drivers, but that's impossible as I haven't touched the software on the hard drive and nVidia drivers are part of OS X.
If the card is broken then fine, I'll take my losses and buy a new one as I would hate to just throw the computer away since it still more than fulfill my needs. But I just hope the AGP slot isn't broken.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Just for clarification:
You have two systems based on the same MS-7008 mainboard, correct? Both use the same BIOS Version?
In one system, the card is functioning, running in AGP 3.0 Mode x8 and in the other, same mainboard model, what are the symptoms of "video card not recognized" besides the AGP 2.0 Mode x4 limitation?
I mean, if you can see the BIOS Setup, the card is putting something out on the screen, right?

    Thanks for the reply!
The open source driver doesn't support my card yet. I tried installing it first since its the recommended driver, but Xorg couldn't detect any display at all.
It seems the PCI BusID is not being read from the xorg.conf file. There's auto detection everytime the PC boots.

  • GTX770 graphics card not recognised - Z97 Gaming 5

I have a GTX650Ti and a GTX770 into my Z97 Gaming 5. The GTX650 works fine, but the 770 is not recognised by the board at all.
I tried the 770 in every slot, with or without the 650.
I tried swapping the power cables to both cards and it did not make a difference,
I then removed the 770 and put it in the board I was replacing, using the same cables and power supply and it worked fine.
The BIOS has been updated to version 1.3
I checked the board explorer in the BIOS and it shows that slot as empty.
Any clues why this would happen? Is there anything I need to do to get this card to work?

    Hi:
You notebook is not designed to run a 32 bit operating system and there are no graphics drivers for it from HP.
You will have to try these steps and if they don't work, I'm afraid you are out of luck...and will need to install a supported 64 bit operating system.
    1. Install the Intel chipset driver and reboot.

Hi, I upgraded this laptop to Windows 8.1 , I've installed last AMD CCC Drivers but my games recognise only my internal graphic card (HD 8330) and not the HD 8670M, in permormance mode and in battery save mode. • Why are my PXI cards not recognized by Windows or MAX?

I have a PXI-1045 chassis connected to a PC through MXI-4.  When I turn the chassis and PC on with a PXI card in slot 2, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice.  Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." appears, and the PXI card is not recognized (it is scene by Windows as an unidentifiable PCI Devices, though I have a DAQmx installed).
    More details:
    Windows XP
    LabVIEW 8.0 installed
    TestStand 4.0 installed
    Latest DAQmx 8.XX installed
    NI Scope installed
    NI CAN installed
MXI-4 PCI card installed in PC and recognized by Windows (as PCI-PCI bridge, and MXI-4 Device)
I identified PXI chassis 1045 in MAX and on subsequent boot up saw that MAX complained about pxisys or some other ini file (in the chassis status area of the screen) so I configured it as 'other' then put in the PXI-resorce CD and selected the ini file for PXI-1045, MAX no longer complains about pxisys and instead says the chassis is configured properly
If I have nothing but the PXI MXI-4 card installed in the PXI system and boot up the chassis then the PC, I get no errors
If I have a card in slot two (I've tried PXI-6509 Industrial Digital IO, PXI-2569 Relay Module, and PXI-5102 Digital Oscilliscope) and boot the chassis then PC, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice.  Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." shows up when Windows boots and Windows sees a PCI Device but can't identify any drivers for it.

    Hello,
Can you post a screenshot of the problem? Are you switching on the chassis first or the PC? Please make sure that you switch ON chassis and then boot the PC. This typically happens when you have a corrupted installation.  I would suggest downloading the latest version of driver from here and re-installing it.
Please uninstall all the driver software from computer before installing the new software.

  • ATI Graphics card not detected on cold boot, works on warm boot

    Hi All,
I hope you can help me out with this.
    I'm using Radeon HD7850 with ATI-Catalyst.
The issue is, if I do a cold boot (physically turn off the power, turn back on) the system won't boot into X, only tty.
At this point, a reboot works fine.
Or if I don't turn off the power, just shutdown and reboot (warm boot), it works ok.
Here's the Xorg log on cold boot:

Setting the PCI BusID in Xorg.conf seems to have no effect, even if I set it to 6:0:0 or 7:0:0, its still the same.
Do I need to set AutoAddDevices off?

MisterAnderson wrote:Does the same happen with the opensource radeon drivers? (xf86-video-ati)
    Thanks for the reply!
The open source driver doesn't support my card yet. I tried installing it first since its the recommended driver, but Xorg couldn't detect any display at all.
It seems the PCI BusID is not being read from the xorg.conf file. There's auto detection everytime the PC boots.
