Graphics card underclocked how to fix.

Hello,
I just bought a macbook pro and found out that the graphics card is kind of underclocked. It's running at 310MHz / 278MHz (GPU and RAM respectively)!
i found this only, haven't checked it yet with my own mb pro.
but this same graphicscard does 470MHz /470 MHz in other laptops.
So my question: has anyone already tried "underclocking it a bit less". i read that 450MHz /459Mhz gives like al lot more fps without overheating and. still not overclocking actually.

No, you cannot overclock the card except if booted into Windows via Boot Camp installation. Although you can overclock the card from Windows it is not permanent. The card will return to its defaults upon restarting OS X.

I dont have Prokit 4.0.1 if you are referring to that, do I need this first? Please explain what application name I am looking for if other than Prokit which is sitting in my "download folder" do I need to manually put it into the apps folder? Mid 2010 Macbook Pro Graphic Card(GT 330M) Temporary Fix

Have seen lot of Posts regarding this issue to which i found a temporary fix and thought might be helpfull to someone else
I am with a Mid 2010 Macbook Pro
2.66 i7
4gb ram
Nvidia Geforce gt 330m / Intel HD Graphics(228 mb)
Lion 10.7.2
its been above 4 years my mb was working fine untill i decided to do a clean install of Mountain Lion and started facing this Crash Issues,
within this week i tryed to reinstall snow leopard and lion and tryed to overcome this crash issue but noting worked(couldnt reinstall snow bcaz it wouldnt boot for me)
Havent taken it to a showroom or repair centre since i already figured that this issue is due to the nvidia graphic card that came with this mb(but planing to once i save enuf money for a new repair)
for now i am on 10.7.2(lion) and my fix to this issue is gfxCardStatus 2.2.1(the new version of gfx does automatic switching for me which gives me no control)
Bfore this when ever i opend Logic Pro the gfx status automatically moved to Discrete which after a while lead to black screen and a force restart,so i came across this fix and its been working well for me
how to ;-
1 - install gfxCardStatus 2.2.1(google it for download link)
2 - switch energy saver in system prefs to battery saver and select Intergrated Mode in gfcardstatus from the menu bar
Note ;-
- after restart the defualt in gfx bcomes dynamic switching and while selecting Intergrated mode the screen will have white lines and garbled issue.
3 - so bfore restart i quit gfx and uninstall it(move it to trash n empty)
4 - after restart the gfx menu dosent come up on bar so i reinstall it from a extrnal usb or drive or redownload it from internet and install it back n repeat set 2 from how to notes.
Now repeating this process when i open Logic Pro the gfx stays on Intergrated Only allowing me to finish my projects with full concentration and without any black screen or force restarts.
Hope this works well for some one out there.

Which MAC Pro graphics card and how much RAM for FCE HD usage?

I plan on purchasing a MAC Pro afer MacWorld Expo next month. Any recommendations for a specific graphics card that would complement my usage of Final Cut Express HD 3.5?
Also, should I increase my RAM? I currently use 2 gb of RAM on my G4. Will I see greater productivity if I bump it up to 4gb of RAM on the MAC Pro or will 2gb suffice which I had planned to increase it to from the standard 1gb supplied?

Any of the graphics cards that Apple sells for the Mac Pro will be fine. Personally, I'd suggest choosing one with at least 128MB video RAM, 256MB would be better.
2GB RAM in your Mac Pro will be more than enough for general purpose video editing. Going to 4GB will give you more oomph for RealTime effects and somewhat for rendering but you won't see a big difference in regard to capturing or general editing in the timeline.

It's a very common problem, you can find a discussion here by searchin phrase "Invalid SIM card" or what ever your iPhone tells.
Its NOT related to locked or unlocked device.

No SIM card error - How to fix?

I have started receiving No SIM card error messages and they are increasing with regularity.
Suggested solutions that I have tried but still get the message.
I had AT&T replace the SIM card. Results: Worked for 2 days.
Revisited AT&T and they told me it was a bad port & needed to go to the Apple store.
Researched Apple support and found quite a few people are getting this error message and Apple doesn't know why either.
I am currently making an appointment but thought I'd see if anyone out there has had succes fixing this error.
Read on a non-Apple support site that it could be a "new case" that is causing the problem and since I did get a new case, I removed it and still get the error. Since it was only intermittent, I could restore the service by turning the Airplane mode "on & off". This is working less & less.
Has anyone had this error and successfully fixed it?

Graphics Card Upgrade - how much better?

How big a performance difference do you see with Motion 2 by upgrading from the stock 9600 to something better - say an X800 or 6800GT/Ultra?

4K refers to the width of the largest object you can work with.
For example I work with maps and am making an HD project. So I can easily create a map in Photoshop that is 3500 pixels by 2400 pixels. I would like to bring this into Motion and do a gentle zoom in on it starting from the whole map and ending up with a 50% zoom. With my Radeon 9800 board I must convert the graphic down to 2048 pixel wide before I bring it into Motion. So my zoom will not look so good as if I could start with the full width.
Hope this helps - certainly explains why I am planning to get a NVidia or comparable board for my next system

I just upgraded my notebook from windows 7 do windows 8.1
I have big laggs (fps drops) in games, there is a problem with graphic card.
When i opening game the power light changing from white to orange but after few seconds back to white so i think that games using already only integrated graphic card.
How can I fix that? What can I do, please help me.

I don't know why but some games are working only on integrated graphic card - Steam Games, but League of Legends automatically working fine.
There is a chance to callibrate or something like that? I don't want to manual click to open applications with nvidia gpu.

Graphic card problem - blue screen error

When I turn my computer on after it has been off for a long time, it comes up with a blue screen which says: "Your graphics card has got stuck in an infinite loop and your computer had to be shut down to prevent damage"

Download the graphic card driver from Toshiba download site. In device manager open graphic card properties. Chose please driver tab and use uninstall (advanced) option. After that restart the unit and install downloaded Toshiba driver.
I am pretty sure that it should work well again.

I own a macbook pro 2.4 ghz intel core duo, 4gb ram with NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB graphics card. I'm finding this graphics card pretty shocking when it comes to even the simplest of 3D games...i know probably my fault for choosing a laptop not suitable for gaming but still i did expect it to be able to handle graphics like on football manager.
Anyway my question is, is there any way to upgrade my graphics card and how much would it cost?

Have you used Disk Utility to correct permissions? This is a routine maintenance procedure that can improve some things. If you are not familiar with using this utility it's sufficient to see at the end 'permissions repair complete' or similar. There are likely to be some messages saying certain things couldn't be corrected but usually these are not serious issues.
The other thing to watch is whether you are running on battery power or mains. When there is intensive processor activity & some other internal activities too the computer might need mains power to perform at its best. You can try various things on battery alone then on battery & mains together and compare performance.
