Graphics don't display in Rich Text

I'm in the process of migrating from MS Entourage to Mail. For a long time I've been placing screenshots in context within my text and it's worked well for all receivers. Yet now my recipients tell me the graphics are no longer in place, yet they look fine when I'm sending. I've tried by gifs and tiffs; neither works.
Mail 2.1.3 (753.1). What am I missing?
Kind regards,

Mulder asked: What exactly are your recipients seeing, if not the images? Are you actually sending Rich Text email, or is it Plain Text with images attached? More details.
I'm discussing a software coding problem with a colleague. I enter some text, drag in a screenshot, centre it. Continue with more text, drag in another screenshot. Make some text bold. And so forth. Clearly I'm in Rich Text, and the behaviour is very similar to HTML mode in Entourage.
I send the eMail. My colleague tells me the text arrives with graphic attachments out of context, separated from the text. He sends me these remarks:
"I tried to look at your screen shots, but none of my software (preview, photoshop, safari) will open them . The name says 'gif' but it says they are in 'tiff' format."
I then convert the graphics to TIFF format, place them in context and resend the eMail. He tells me he again gets the same result, plain text files with separated attachments.
This is most counter intuitive and frustrating.
Kind regards,

  • Moved Graphics Don't Display In Flash Output

    Following on from my previous post (re the problems I have
    had following an upgrade from v4 to v6) in which I mentioned that
    many of my graphics do not display in preview mode, even having
    moved the project to my C drive and even though the images do
    display in compiled .chm output, they still will not display in
    preview mode or in compiled Flash output (have not yet tested
    WebHelp).
    However, this does not apply to all of the graphics in my
    project - It would appear that the problem images are only those
    which having opened the project in v6, I moved into a central
    graphics folder (using the Project view).
    Beforehand, all my images were scattered throughout the
    project folders which made it a nightmare to manage so I decided to
    move those which were not already located in my 'Images' folder,
    into it!
    Although the file moves seemed to work without any problems
    and the code in the 'True Code' view points to the correct location
    (and does not show any obvious differences between graphics which
    do display in preview mode and those which don't) - all I get is a
    box the size and shape of the graphic containing a small red cross!
    Any suggstions gratefully received as always.
    Ta much

    In dealing with the various problems, did you take a copy of
    the project and then open that using the HHP file after deleting
    the CPD and XPJ files? Try that on a copy to see if it fixes the
    problem. If it does, read my topic on Opening a Project to see if
    any of the issues concern your project.
    If that doesn't fix it, post back.

  • Altered graphics don't display properly

    I am running Lookout 6.2 on a small panel pc.
    I am using custom graphics which up to now display properly. I needed to make a couple of changes to the graphic, which was done on another computer then the exiting graphic was replaced with the new one, using the same name.
    Lookout displays the graphic but with messed up colour (greens are reduced to shades of grey) and the image is fuzzy. Untouched graphics remain ok
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks Ryan
    The resolution and colour were all correct, so I had the graphic re-drafted and this time it worked.
    Yet another mystery

  • Graphics don't display in pdf?

    When I view pdf's on my iPad 2, sometimes the graphics are fine, but often there are blank areas where some of the graphics should be.
    I create the pdf's in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional by printing to a file from a variety of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and so on).
    Can anyone suggest settings I can use in Adobe that would make the graphics appear 100% of the time? Trial-and-error isn't working.
    As an aside, I don't want to open these documents in their original format (for example, using Keynote for PowerPoint documents or Numbers for Excel documents). I really need them to be pdfs.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas!

    Are the graphics that don't show up interactive elements?
    For example, when I create files and turn an image into a button, either in the original program or in Acrobat, and neglect to check the "Interactive Elements" box in the "Include" section of the export options before I export, those images will not show up at all on any computer, not just on the iPad.
    You may have tried this already but in the "Options" section of the export panel, under "Export Layers", select "All Layers". Maybe your applications put some of your images on layers that are not accessible to you but it doesn't seem obvious when you're working with them.
    I hope this helps.

  • Safari Mac won't display Rich Text HTML editor in Yahoo web mail

    "Safari 3.2 (Mac)", "Yahoo email", "Compose Message" Toolbar, Rich Text (HTML) editor.
    In Yahoo's Compose Message editor, I don't see the Rich Text (HTML) editor and its toolbar while using Safari 3.2 in Yahoo mail (classic). In Firefox, I see the Rich Text editor toolbar and it works fine.
    I've searched on this forum, including Yahoo and others, and don't see this complaint. Is there something I've overlooked?
    Is Safari Mac even capable of running the Rich Text editor in Yahoo email?

    Hi Semi,
    I found this in the Yahoo Mail Help:
    How do I write in BOLD, italics or Color, or change font size?
    On the Compose page, above the upper-right corner of the compose window, there's a link that either says Rich Text or Plain Text. Click this link to switch back and forth between the two. Since the link is the switch, you'll actually see Plain Text when you're in Rich Text.
    In Rich Text, you can change the look of your message in a bunch of different ways. Again, since the link is there to switch from one mode to the other, if you see Plain Text, that means you're already in Rich Text! If you see Rich Text, click it.
    The Rich Text toolbar appears above the Compose window.
    Spell check
    Going from left to right, the first button is the 'abc' spell-check button. Click it anytime to check your spelling starting at the beginning of your email. When you're finished, click Close.
    Font and Size
    Font: The Font button has two F’s on it. Click it to view other Font choices and select another Font.
    Size: Click the button with two A’s on it to choose the size of type you want. Browse the menu and click the size you want.
    Bold, Italics and Underline
    B is for Bold, I is for Italics, and U is for Underline. Emphasize your point! :o)
    To use these formatting tools, either click a button and start typing, or, select a block of text (or one word), and then click a button to format the text.
    color
    Text Color: Click the "T" button to see a palette of many colors. Select the text color you want, and start typing. Or, select a block of text (or one word), and then click the button to apply the color.
    Background color: Want to give your text a background color? Either click the highlighter color you want and then start typing, or, select the text to which you'd like to add a background, then press this button to apply the highlighting color.
    Emoticons
    Add emotional oomph to what you say by selecting from the list of graphical emoticons.
    Links and Lines
    Globe with Links button: Insert a web site link!
    Line button: Insert a horizontal line. Handy!
    Alignment
    Choose from flush-left, centered, or flush-right text alignment.
    Lists
    Bullets and Numbering button: create bulleted or numbered lists.
    Indenting
    Decrease Indent: Place the cursor where you would like to move the text to the left and click the "Decrease Indent" button.
    Increase Indent: Place the cursor where you would like to move the text to the right and click the "Increase Indent" button.
    Yahoo hasn't the best rich text editor out there for e-mail. Why not use Mac Mail... so much easier and supports RT. Yahoo having laid off personnel, I doubt if their internet based mail client sees much in the way of improvement anytime soon.

  • Rich text output?? Using FormattedTextEdit Element in NW 7.02

    So SAP now gives us a cool element that allows users to input text using a limited number of formatting options (bold, italics, header size 1/2/3, Indent, bullet).
    We currently use interactive forms to print out several different project forms. However, mgmt really wants to display this rich text on the PDF.
    Searching high and low, there apparently is no good way to display formatted text in adobe interactive forms.
    We thought about just building the output form as a WDA application - however, this presents other problems such as page breaks.
    Does anyone out there know of a way to get formatted text out of SAP onto a PDF/other form output?

    Thomas,
    Thanks for the reply. We've had success in the past (NW 7.00) with passing those SAPScript text objects to Adobe for formatting.
    Is this only available for interfaces define as data dictionary? I don't see the option to create a TEXT node in WDA when my interface is defined as XML-based.
    We have become heavily invested in AIF, and it's hard to imagine that something as simple as RTF can't be easily rendered somehow outside SAP. We were hoping that with 7.02, an easier method would be available.

  • Edit rich text in apex

    Hi,
    I was using rich text field in my form in apex database application. After submit, the context in rich text field will be saved in database clob column. I experienced some difficulties to edit the info in the rich text area. For example, I could not delete the bottom lines. I thought I deleted them, but after submit they were showed up again.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks

    I believe The others can provide more detailed solution.
    How to display MS Rich Text in a Forms item? I think You can use OLE Item for that. It works just in client/server. I don't know a solution for Web Form.
    If not then how to strip the rich text formatting off. the easest way:
    Use OLE Automation.
    Load the RTF document into ActiveX controls or programs which recognize RTF format. I believe you can find out a lot of ones. Then save it into text file.
    I think you can upload the document into server to proces it there for Web Form. (I don't know exactly, because I have never used Web Form).
    The other ways:
    1. Use a third party RTF-parser. For example: you can find out a lot of program to convert RTF to XML-fo, etc.
    2. There is the documentation for this format on www.microsoft.com. So you can write your RTF parser. If you need to just delete all formating from the document I think it is possible. I have written one, but they quete difficult and I don't have a free time to make the example :(.
    3. etc...

  • Incredible email graphics won't display

    Occasionally I get emails with graphics in the email, rather than attachments.  The graphics don't display, so I have to open the email on my home PC to see them.  On my Droid, I went into email/menu/more/settings/send & receive to find my 'Mail size limit' was set at 5kb, so I changed it to No limit.  I forwarded the email from my PC (same ISP), however only a few of the graphics appeared, most did not.  My wife has the Droid X and we share the same email account, so she also got the email.  She can see all the graphics.  What gives?  We both have the same OS.

    the graphics in my emails are always in the body of the email? i never receive them as attachments? i get many emails with graphics and they always appear in the same manner as when i pull those same emails from my pc. i just checked my settings, but can't find anywhere to change anything that may affect how your emails show up on the device? sorry.

  • Incoming mail won't wont display rich text or graphics

    . Before updating my Intel iMac to Leopard, none of my incoming mail displayed the text or graphic that it was used to compose the mail i.e everything is in plain text . I took the computer to local Apple store and paid for 2 hours of the tech's time and he could not find the source of the problem. After upgrading to Leopard, it did improve a bit with some mail displaying the graphics and rich text but now it is happening again.
    I have been into Mail preferences and ticked the box "display remote images in HTML messages " . There is nothing in troubleshooting to help and it is getting annoying. I also have a 13" Macbook but it does not have the same problem as the rich text and graphics come through as sent. Hope someone can help.

  • JHS setting for the Display Type of Rich Text Editor

    In the "Display Type" settings for an item, there is no option in the JHS Definition Editor to choose a "Rich Text Editor" type. Is that intentional or an oversight?
    Thanks,
    Gary

    Gary,
    don't know why it's left out, but you can implement a rich text editor with a custom template (that's the answer I got when I asked the question several months ago). Here's the template code I use for implementing a rich text editor in a table:
    #macro (EDITOR_POPUP)
    <af:popup id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}Popup" contentDelivery="lazyUncached" eventContext="launcher">
    <af:dialog modal="true" resize="on" title="#TEXT_EDITOR_TITLE()" id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}Dialog">
    <af:richTextEditor rows="10" columns="100" #ITEM_VALUE_IN_FORM()
    simple="true" id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}EditorText"/>
    </af:dialog>
    </af:popup>
    #end
    #set ($popupId = ${JHS.page.addPopup("${JHS.current.item.bindingName}Popup","${JHS.engine.fullNamingContainerPath}","#EDITOR_POPUP()")})
    #set ($popupDialogId = ${popupId.replaceAll("Popup","Dialog")})
    <af:panelLabelAndMessage #ITEM_RENDERED_IN_TABLE() #ITEM_PARTIAL_TRIGGERS() #ITEM_HINT()>
    <af:richTextEditor #ITEM_ID_IN_TABLE() #ITEM_VALUE_IN_TABLE() #ITEM_PROMPT_IN_TABLE()
    #ITEM_REQUIRED_IN_TABLE() #ITEM_ROWS() #ITEM_COLUMNS()
    #ITEM_READ_ONLY_IN_TABLE() #ITEM_ADDITIONAL_PROPERTIES()
    #ITEM_DISABLED_IN_TABLE() #DEPENDS_ON_ITEM_PROPS_TABLE()
    simple="true" partialTriggers="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}EditorLink ${popupDialogId}">
    #REGULAR_EXPRESSION_VALIDATOR()
    #VALIDATOR_BINDING_IN_TABLE()
    #NUMBER_CONVERTER()
    </af:richTextEditor>
    <af:commandLink id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}EditorLink"
    #JHS_PROP("rendered" $JHS.current.item.renderEditorLinkInTable)
    immediate="true" partialSubmit="true">
    <af:showPopupBehavior popupId="${popupId}"/>
    <af:image source="/jheadstart/images/editor.gif" id="${JHS.current.item.bindingName}Icon"
    clientComponent="true"/>
    </af:commandLink>
    </af:panelLabelAndMessage>

  • Rich text box used in Infopath Form not displaying option to get images from Computer

    Hello,
    We have used "Rich text box" in Infopath Form which is not displaying option to get images from Computer.
    Options available are : From Address, From SharePoint
    But if we Rich text box in list, then it works fine with "From Computer" option.
    can you please help me out to get this option.
    Thanks in advance.
    REgards,
    Jayashri

    Hi,
    From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
    Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
    About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.

  • Can I display rich text in a textfield?

    I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer and there is a text field that is retrieving data from a table. The data in this field is entered from a ColdFusion form and its using the Rich Text Editor in the form. Because of this, the data that is displaying in the text field of the pdf looks like this:
    <p>This is a comment.</p>
    Is there any way for the text field to show the data with the proper formatting?  I've gone in to the field tab of the object and selected Rich Text for the Field Format but it doesn't help.

    Ok, I've added a new field which has a bind name called FieldA.
    I click on the ConditionFound field  and open the script editor. I choose calculate and enter the following:
    ConditionFound.value.exData.loadXML(FieldA.rawValue,1,1);
    I save the form.
    When I open the pdf from the link on my app, the FieldA field displays: <p>This is a test entry.</p> which it gets from the database.
    The ConditionFound field is still blank.

  • SharePoint 2013 Document Library template displays html code when creating a new document from a sharepoint list multiline rich text

    I have a 2010 work flow that is associated with a sharepoint 2013 list that creates a new list document using a custom Microsoft Word 2013 template with a rich text multiline field quick part.  The workflow creates the document and populates
    the the quickpart, however, the text in the document is showing html codes
    <div class="ExternalClass2116495984EB429D95B02CC15F85FD4C"><h1>ABC123</h1><h2>Test&#58; 1234</h2></div>
    and not as
    ABC123
    Test: 1234
    Is there a no code solution for this?

    Hi,
    I have done a test and I can reproduced your issue.
    I referred to the blog about Automatically create Word documents which include list fields:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/brenclarke/archive/2009/04/15/automatically-create-word-documents-which-include-list-fields.aspx
    When I create a multiple line of text column in a list, I just choose Plain text, Then I solved the issue:
    Besides, here is a similar post, you can take a look at:

    OK Thanks Brad.
    I could use Tockify of course, but wanted to create the same things on an existing site.
    I do not know how to copy the code and get it onto Muse, but that’s OK for now. I will work something else out.
