Graphics Driver not installing

Hello,
I have a Dell Optiplex 170L I recently upgraded from XP to WIN7 x32.  My display is stuck in 640x480.  I downloaded the XP version of the driver, saved it to my C drive, went to the device manager, clicked on "browse my computer for driver
software", pointed to the driver and installed.  The installation than proceeded to fail with an error of
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error installing".....Access is denied.  I have looked everywhere for a fix to this issue but to no avail.  My graphics card is an Intel 82865G Graphics Controller.
All my other drivers (Audio, Chipset, Network, etc...) installed and updated fine.  Just my graphics seems to be failing.
Please let me know if anyone has experienced this and has found a fix.
Thank you,
Josh

check at your Video graphic specification, If you have:
Intel Springdale G Integrated Video Is not compatible with Windows 7.
After you download  XP driver
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=2HCRJ&osCode=WW1&fileId=2731091730&languageCode=EN
run compatibility mode for XP
Other solution will be buy external graphic card which compatible with Windows 7
Intel 82865G Graphics Controller, try to run these

You can also confirm this with Dell as PC manufactured or Intel as graphic card manufactured

  • HP Envy 14 1260se graphics driver not installing correctly

Recently my computer crashed and I had to reformat my hard drive. I was able to install Windows 7 with the SP1 and I have most of the drivers installed from HPs website. However, I'm having trouble installing my gaphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650).
I go to Device Manager and it marks an error for the "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" the device status is "This device cannot start. (Code 10). I've downloaded the driver from HPs website and I can begin the installing process. However, halfway through I get a BlueScreen, LocaleID: 1033, BCCode: 116.
I've tried almost everything I can think of. I've uninstalled the driver and installed it again. I've downloaded the driver from AMDs website and tried installing it that way and all methods have failed. Always during the installation process I get the BlueScreen and must restore my computer to before I tried installing the driver.
I don't know if this would be the reason, but in my Device Manager and under Display adapters I have "Intel(R) HD Graphics" and the "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" (which should be the Radeon 5650).  So maybe I can't install my Radeon driver because it conflicts with my Intel card. I really don't know. (Before the clean install, my computer could switch between the cards. I don't think I have that ability in my computer right now.)
My computer is fully functional except that I can't use my graphics card. I appreaciate any help or advice out there.

    Hello @notarealninja,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand that your notebook computer is not able to install the graphics drivers correctly, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
In order to further diagnose the error message displayed on your computer screen, I recommend following this document on Blue Screen BCCode 116. This should help install any necessary software to prevent the occurrence of another Blue Screen message.
Additionally, if the drivers still do not install correctly, I also suggest installing the original software and hardware drivers that came with your computer. This can be done by following this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7). To update these drivers, please follow this document on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7).
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • MOVED: Intel Vga graphics driver not installed?

This topic has been moved to MSI Notebook.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=155858.0

I have an ATI x1200 on my laptop, but only the open source driver works for newer kernels.
To enable 3D acceleration with it you must install:
    pacman -S ati-dri xf86-video-ati
The 3D acceleration is decent enough to run compiz, but games...
At least they don't work for me.
With those drivers i have the second monitor working through VGA out of the box. (No xorg.conf or other configurations)
I don't have a DVI port in my laptop but i hope i helped you.
    Good luck.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.

Hi: The only suggestion I can offer would be to try manually installing the windows 7 graphics driver from your notebook's support and driver page. If that doesn't work then there is no solution that I know of. Here is a post from another forum member with the same gpu and I tried helping him to no avail. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/problem-with-HDMI/m-p/5162972#M302151 He did not reply back to let me know if the W7 driver worked or not.

  • Hp Officejet Pro 8600 on Windows 8.1 driver not installed

Using Windows 8.1 and HP Officejet pro 8600.  The printer is installed on a wireless network.  But on Device Manager, it says "driver not installed".   Most printing tasks are successful, but for some I need to have the driver installed on the computer.  I have tried troubleshooting, but am unsuccessful.  I would appreciate help.  Thanks

    Hi emax,
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IP address. Printing a Network Configuration Page.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
Power cycle the router, computer and printer.
    Try printing again.
If the issue persists, add a new device if the IP address is valid.
Right-click the Start button () or the lower left corner of the screen, and then click Search.
In the Search box, type HP, and then click the icon for your printer. The printer software opens.
Click Utilities, and then click Printer Setup & Software Selection.
    Click Connect a new printer.
Test the printer over the wireless network.
Please provide the following information so I can assist you better.
What is the printer's first 3 sets of numbers for the IPV4 address?
Could you access the printer's EWS?
Were you able to add a new device?

  • How to deal with the "driver not installed" message?

My issue, and it seems many others here have it too, is how to install a printer driver in the face of the "driver not installed" message.
In my case, it's an HP4160 Rendevous printer. I've deleted the com.apple.print files in the Library, reinstalled the software, made sure that BDC package, or whatever it's called is installed, even downloaded and run the printer fix software from Fixamac.
    Nothing works.
I have the feeling this isn't a printer or driver-specific issue, but is an OS problem. Does anyone have a suggestion?

It appears the Deskjet 4160 will not work with an Airport. Connected via USB, the driver installs normally and the the printer appears to run just fine, although I haven't done much with it yet.
It simply will not work on a wireless network through an Airport. Frustrating, but workable by bringing the laptop to the printer.

  • TCP / IP Protocol Driver - not installed (using Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) Service Pack 1

I am using a ThinkPad T520 laptop.  Lenovo Solutions Center keeps referring me (with a yellow exclamation mark) to the Device Manager and alerting me to a "non-critical" error. The message is "TCP / IP Protocol Driver - not installed".
I have found numerous pieces of advice for Windows XP and Vista - but very little for Windows 7. I have however tried the Microsoft "Fix it" solution and it had no effect.
I am still able to connect to the internet via Ethernet cable and wifi. It is however worrying that the warning keeps being raised.
Does anyone know how I can fix it?

    Hi Tripplec.
Thanks for the reply. I am away from home at present without my ThinkPad, so will try it at the weekend. I am an experienced computer user but this is a brand new machine and I have never had a laptop that produced error messages without providing any suggested fixes. It seems that Lenovo is not suitable for ordinary home users, but only for computer engineers. Sadly that is not me... so before I plunge in, can I just check some details?
    1. You suggest removing the offending network adapters in device manager. Which are the offending adapters that cause a TCP/IP protocol driver error?  I am nervous of removing the wrong things and making it worse!
    2. You also suggest that I go to Network Connections via Control panel, properties of adapter, Install and select the desired Protocol(s) and install them.  Is that an alternative fix  to 1 above - or an essential follow-on after removing the offending adapters?  (Last week I searched the machine and the Lenovo support page of drivers - and never found a TCP/IP protocol driver. If you know where one can be found, I would prefer to instal a new driver, rather than delete other devices and hope that the machine reinstalls them later!).
    Much obliged for your assistance.

  • Problems adding USB printer - "Driver not installed" - but it is

Apparently, 10.3.9 has some problems with USB printers. For the record, I had already installed this earlier prior to the upgrade and everything worked fine - but due to crashing due to a faulty power supply - I've had to re-configure everything.
I, and many others in this forum, have found a strange problem when trying to add a printer (And yes, other people have asked about this but I haven't seen any answers at all that are useful. The only possible solution seems to be "upgrade to 10.4" and that is unacceptable. Does Apple check these forums?).
After clicking "add printer" in the utility, the software finds the correct printer (so obviously the physical connection to the printer is OK) and displays it with a question mark over it's icon and "driver not installed" next to it. I can't select this image or text.
After searching for a couple of minutes, a dialogue box pops up saying "New drivers detected. Do you want to reload the browser?" (I assume the printer setup utility is the "browser"?).
I click yes and nothing happens. No PPDs show up in the list. This happens when I select USB as well as Apple Talk from the printer-type pull-down menu.
How can I start printing again?
    iMac G5 17" Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    iMac G5 17" Mac OS X (10.3.9)
    iMac G5 17" Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    First, welcome to the discussions.
For the record, Apple does not normally respond to these Forums.
You mention (Due to Crashing) Whenever you have an issue with your machine it can disrupt in almost any area, and is normally caused by SOMETHING.
As of right now it would appear you might be chasing your tail.
When you choose to upgrade your Operating System there is No Guarantee that your Printer and it's drivers will work on another completely different Operating System.
Your best bet at this point is to drag all of your printer related folders to the trash, empty your trash, and plug your USB Printer (What KIND) into your machine directly.
Shut your machine clear OFF for a minute or so and do the same to your printer, pull the power adapter from it.
Now plug in your printers Power Adapter, Plug in the USB to your Printer to your computer and restart it.
Take the Disc that came with your printer and re insert it and download the Installation Folder and any utility folder that may come with it.
After you have done this don't try to print, Go directly to your Printer Manufactures Web site and search for the latest updates to your printer and the Operating System you are using.
These will more often than not download to your desktop.
You must drag these to the setup folder and or the utilities folder and then double click them to launch them. after you have completed this your printer should work.
One other thing, If you have Classic and or OS9 on your machine you might have to do the same for OS9 Applications , and Utilities for it to print in Classic. Don

  • PSE Backup wouldn't work: "CD device driver not installed; install PSE" didn't fix problem; Win7

I'm trying to backup by photos for the first time! in Photoshop 5.0 on a Windows 7 system. I get to "Full Backup" option, and get a pop-up that says "CD device driver not installed; reinstall PSE". I put my PSE disk into my computer, select "Repair... installs... missing files"; PSE re-installs, but I get the same message again when I try to backup. How do I find a CD device driver? (My DVD is formatted, but PSE can't find it.)

I just found a photoshop elements 5.0.2 update "patcher" and installed it. The install was successful but I still got the same message saying "CD device driver not installed". Might there be a problem since I'm now on Windows 7 and no longer on XP? I have no need to buy a newer version since Elements 5.0 does everything I need to do. Any other suggestions?

  • Graphics driver not recognized by Jabber Video

I have encountered the error "New features in this version of Jabber Video are not supported by your computer's graphics driver. Update to the newest graphics driver available and run jabber Video again."
I am attempting to run Jabber Video on Dell Inspiron 1545, Windows 7 64-bit, Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset. The system (device manager->display adapters->driver) thinks it's running driver version 8.15.10.1994, but in fact it's running 9.1.1.1019. Here's another data point: when I tried to update the driver, it tells me that I had version "9.2.0.1025", which is a non-existent version of the driver, BUT the release date of the previous driver happened to be 9/25/2010...so there's a bug somewhere in the Dell system setup (perhaps the customized OS?).
None of that would help me, of course...but I'd like to know if there's a way to tell Jabber Video what version of graphics driver to look for when I set it up? Or perhaps to tell Jabber Video where to find the actual driver?
    Thx in advance!

    Karen,
Have you solved this problem?  We have been running Jabber/Movi for a couple of years on the Inspiron 1545.  It has been working fine up to 4.2.  We were trying to upgrade to 4.4 and had the same problem you are having. 4.4 would not install.  The release notes in 4.3 or 4.4 say nothing about updated graphics requirements so I am not sure what could of changed.
    Any Cisco advice?
    THanks

  • Graphics driver not working good on Satellite 1410-304

    Hi there,
I have installed latest Graphic card driver on my TS S1410-304 (latest auto-actualization can find anyway...) and about 1,5cm of the right side of the screen disappeared. I mean that computer thinks that they are not there, even if I set screen resolution at 1024x768 (969x768 being default), it behaves like I have set it on wider resolution than monitor has and scrolls to that invisible corner. GC is GeForce 4 420 Go. Does anyone know how to fix that?

    Hi
From where did you download the graphic driver and what graphic driver did you use???
You should use the Toshiba graphic drivers. These drivers are designed especially for the notebook usage and other graphic drivers for example from the graphic card manufacture are designed for usage on the desktop PCs.
Therefore follow the link suggested above and install the driver from the Toshiba page.

  • 'No AMD graphics driver is installed..'

Hi, I've recently been receiving this message 'No amd graphics driver installed or is not functioning properly. Please install the amd driver appropiate for your amd software' on my pavilion dv6 and I'm not sure why? When I look in the Device Manager under Display adapters there are 2 graphics cards showing - AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series (which has the following device status 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)' which I assume is where the problem lies and the other one is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series which has the device status 'No drivers are installed for this device.' I have tried disabling each one and looking for updates but nothing seems to work. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 but the issue was there before the upgrade. Any help would be much appreciated!

Then you should not do it by yourself, find a friend who knows what the BIOS is and how to reset it to its default settings and request him/her to help you
