Graphics look different after publishing

I am creating a new site and after publishing, the TIF images I use change color. I change the background color of the image which looks fine on iweb but different when published.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

Phil:
I see all red links and only one has a mouse over action which is a green underline. Actually there are two that are just white text and not linked. You might try using the Publish all to .Mac menu option to force a rebuild of all the pages. That might do it.

  • WMF Graphics Look Terrible After Re-Opening InDesign File

    I hope someone can provide the answer to this one, or at least a decent work-around.
    Very detailed schematic drawings are provided to me (the tech writer) in the form of Windows Meta-File (*.wmf) graphics.
    I must take these drawings and import them into my V.6 InDesign (CS4) files using the Place command under File.
    The graphics look fine immediately after I import them. If I print the file to PDF (Adobe 9.0) before closing the file, they look great in PDF as well.
    The problem: If I close the file and then re-open it, these schematic graphics look absolutely awful; like they "melted" or something. The many labels are completely indiscernable and blocky. Printing to a PDF does not improve the look (but doesn't seem to make it any worse though, if that's even possible).
    So the problem lies between the time I close (after saving) the file and the time I re-open it. ID is reducing the graphic quality of these WMF drawings upon saving/closing the file and I cannot find the solution.
    The technical details:
    System: PC, Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 2
    Adobe CS4: InDesign Version 6.04
    Thank you for your time and attention. I shall be happy to provide more detail to get this question answered.

  • Changes in template background graphics are reverted after publishing

    I'm using the Watercolor theme, and as I'm using a page width of 800 pixels, I also wanted to change the width of the navbar background graphics from the default of 700 to 800 pixels. That was easy enough, the navbar background for e.g. the Watercolor blog is found in iWeb/Shared/Watercolor Blog.webtemplate, and is named navbar_gold2-1.jpg. I just changed the size of this in Photoshop from 90*700 to 90*800 pixels.
    In iWeb all looks OK, the background width is correct (800 Pixels), but upon publishing the width is reverted to 700 pixels.
    There must be another setting to do in order to get this right, but where?

    The header width is hard coded in XML, you can modify it; but,
    IMPORTANT: it is important to make copy of anything/everything you are about to modify, so you can restore it, in case you mess up.
    To modify XML, open it with a text editor and search for bl:header-layer (I think), then look for width parameter.
    If you really stuck, you could email Suzanne Boben at http://www.11mystics.com , Suz knows anything and everything about iWeb XML.
    Other alternative is post processing after you publish, the problem can be resolved in one line of Javascript.

    I've never seen a change in the graphs as a sole result of stopping a VI.
    How do you stop the VI? (abort button, normal via a stop button, etc.)
    Is there any extra code that executes at the end?
    Is you graph axis set to "loose fit"?
    What is your LabVIEW version? Do you have a simple VI that demonstrates the problem. Please attach it.
    (And what's up with that attachment. You have a word document containing images of your VI front panel embedded in an excel sheet. Very convoluted. )

  • Previews in LR 1.0 look different after exporting to 'file'.

    Hello everyone, I'm new to LR and somewhat new to PS (PS CS3).  I'm starting to shoot mainly in NEF but have many more jpgs on file.  While editing jpg's in LR for a Quinceanera (shoot w/ D200,JPEG,sRGB working in Win XP) I've had to, on occasion, finish editing in PS CS3 (blemish removal, USM in Lab, Gaussian Blur, etc.) after saving as a PSD and returning to LR and then 'export' the file back to jpg in a different folder (on Desktop) for easy finding I notice a 'change' in appearance in additional previews that I click on (back in LR) ONLY in the Develop Module!  In Explorer and also the 'final' folder on the Desktop all images look the same (good).  As I move my mouse over thumbnails in the Filmstrip they look fine in the Navigator preview but when I select one, it also looks fine as it is 'loading' but quickly 'shifts' to dull, bland when finished (again only in Develop Module).  I've read a TechNote from Adobe stating ~'... the Library and Develop Modules use different color profiles...'??  in Preferences (LR) I have selected <PSD,ProPhoto RGB, and 16/bit>  and in Color Settings... (PS CS3) I have a Working space as (RGB) - ProPhoto RGB  and in Color Management Policies have RGB set to Off.  My long winded question is this: I this normal and/or should I set my Preferences to sRGB (in LR for PS CS3)?  Anybody have the same issues?  P.S.  I've had to close LR and then restart LR to have this 'problem' go away (no shifting in Develop).  Thanks

    Big A, Thanks for replying. Just to let you know, I went into Preferences (LR) and changed my settings: PSD, sRGB, and 8/bit and also changed PS CS3 Color Settings... :RGB-Working Space to sRGB and left RGB-Color Management Policies to Off (w/ Profile Mismatches: checked for Ask When Opening) just to help remind me when I'm working w/ RAW files.
    Seems to have settled the issue of different 'views' from Library to Develop Modules. Anyways it seems to make sense seeing how Ps and Lr are supposed to work together 'behind the scenes'. There must be an order of things concerning profiles/spaces (what is effective in one app stays effect in the other or maybe LR have 'authority' over Ps due to its 'design'?? Thanks for the help Antonio

  • Trouble with photos looking different after exporting to LR5

    I am new to lightroom 5.  My photos do not look the same after exporting to CD or to a photo lab for printing.  I am exporting to my hard drive before burning to CD.  Can someone help?  I am starting with RAW or CR2 files before editing.

    What export settings are you using. For jpegs I always choose color space as sRGB (unless the printer requests Argb) and then I set print  size, with resolution between 240 and 300 ppi. For glossy paper I choose a high sharpening setting.
    It’s also possible to print a whole batch to jpeg files using the Print Module (see image below). You can then set an output value for brightening and contrast.
    This can be useful as many people using uncalibrated monitors often find prints look darker than shown on their PC. When using for the first time it’s well worthwhile doing a test batch using different settings to see which gives you the best results.

  • Why do graphics look pixaled after simply DVE within sequence?

    Another newbie question - again, searched forums without a hit.
    I've put a few static images (scans of press clippings) on the timeline and used the basic motion tab under effects controls to fly them in. The final size onscreen is less than their actual resolution, but they are becoming pretty hard to read - as if their resolution is being lowered somehow. Any clues on why a simply DVE move should lower apparent res so much?  Maybe I made a bad assumption that using a jpg for one generation would not be a problem?
    I attached the original and the post-rendered images below.
    Thanks,
                Jim

    I haven't even cracked open AE yet - not sure if that would handle these kinds of DVE, drop shadows, etc better than the effects built into PPRO. Isn't PPRO owned by the same people? Shouldn't the processing engines be of equivalent quality between their suite of products?  ;-)
    Oh yes, much better. AE is built precisely for this type of thing, eg. motion graphics. Over the past several years and versions of whichever NLE you use, more and more motion graphic functions have been built into the NLEs, but by and large, a dedicated application like After Effects is going to handle such tasks with much higher quality, at perhaps the expense of realtime previewing and a steeper learning curve. I think AE's strongest suit is its ability to do subpixel rendering--in other words, AE can create effects and movement using fractions of pixels versus whole pixels, which is what Premiere does. Think of an average DV image at 720x480 pixels--that's only 720 steps in one direction, and 480 in the other. Those may seem like small increments, but depending on your effect or type of motion (for example, a really slow slide), the result can be a bit "chunky", and not good chunky like peanut butter. After Effects, on the other hand, can subdivide those steps into even smaller steps and create exponentially smoother looking effects and motion.
    In most cases, animating using Premiere's controls will get you by, but if you're looking for really high quality motion, start playing around with AE. You'll find it hard to go back to Premiere for animation.

  • Buttons in JToolbar look different after switching from java 1.4 to 1.5

    Hi *,
    after we've switched from jdk1.4 to the current 1.5 version, the buttons in the JToolbars of my gui application look a little bit different. Under 1.4 they look quadratic, under 1.5 they gained width. As well the spaces between the buttons increased noticable.
    What's the problem? What can I do to fix it?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
    Best regards,
    Patrick

    Java 1.5 updated some look and feels. That is probably what is causing the difference.

  • Page formatting looks ok in iweb put looks different when published

    Hi
    I just got a new MAC Book Pro, and am still using the iweb o8. Today I made a web page that looked very much like a resume...indents , bullets, alignment. it looks great on the screen in iweb...but when I publish it and access through safari...all of the indents etc are gone or changed. Any clue what I am doing wrong? Thanks for any suggestions

    No I haven't tried that but I will try it later tonight. Should I do it in word and then convert that doc to a pdf and then use that. The reason I ask is that I did turn the iweb page into a pdf because I wanted to proof it in paper form (old fashioned, I guess)...and when I printed the pdf document is was huge..
    or maybe it looks small on iweb and in the actual web page and the pdf is normal size I was using 14pt type so it was readable on iweb...but when I printed the pdf it didn't fit on a page width wise, and the printed copy looked like 14 pt type....but the iweb page looked about 10 pt.
    anyway I will try your suggestion and let you know
    I tried to take screen shot...to show the misalignment of the text....but I couldn't get the screen shot into this screen.

  • Printing on graphics looks different on printout as it does on screen

    I'm writing code for printing out data stored in a database on a printing device. Im using Swing components representing the data (labels, textAreas, etc...).
    Before the pages are really printed they are shown in a print preview dialog by painting on the dialog's graphics object, and on screen, they look, just as they should. But when sending a page to a printer, two problems occur:
    Parts of the borders i set on the components before, appear partly thicker(about double) at some positions than they do on screen. This mostly happens, if the components contain subcomps.
    Second, I wrote a custom Table that draws a 2D-String-Array on a Graphics using drawString. Calculating the stiring dimensions with FontMetrics works fine, and looks perfect when drawn on screen. But when performing a PrinterJob, 'text cells' containing whitespaces tend to overlap others.
    I searched this forum thoroughly, but couldn't find any solution to my problems. I suppose, the string painting problem might has to do with some font issue, i just wonder why everything looks perfect on screen. I'm using Arial as the Font, so the printer should be able to handle...
    I don't know if the two problems are at all related, but they do both occur, only when sending to a printing device.
    Any ideas?? (Tell me if you think some code was relevant, and i'll post it)
    thanks...

    I dont know if it is a help, but did you use 2D graphics to do the painting.
    If so did you get the imagable area?
    See example in the sun/java homepage.

  • Fonts look different after upgrade

    ok so I upgraded something via pacman -Syu and now after restarting, I find that some of the fonts have changed, not that it's a problem but is this normal?
    The words look smaller now and less bolded. Changes have appeared in both firefox, acroread, the login page, xchm and others which I have not tried.

    even after adding nomodeset into menu.lst, I still get the same font with the login screen, firefox, etc.
    what should I do?
    Is grub like lilo where I need to run something to update the binary?

  • Raw files look different after opening them in CC

    HI,
    I open them in ACR to edit the raw files for white balance and what not, once I get them perfect I click open image to send them to photo shop CC the image is drastically different.  Please help and I doing something wrong?  it worked great in CS5.
    `Terry

    You have a broken display profile. The conversion from source profile to display profile should end up with the same result in each, but since the source is different it can happen that one app chokes and the other not.
    The choice of working space in Photoshop has no bearing on this, unless you've done something silly like setting Photoshop's color management to "off". Whatever profile comes out of ACR should be honored by Photoshop. They do not have to be the same.
    Recalibrate, or if you don't have a calibrator set sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as default display profile in Windows color management. Relaunch Photoshop so that it can pick up the new profile at startup.

  • Theme looking different before and after previewing an advanced style

    Hello,
    i have a problem with a theme looking different before and after previewing an advanced style in mapbuilder Ver11_1_1_5_B110527
    My style xml looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <AdvancedStyle>
        <CollectionStyle>
          <style name="color_style" shape="polygon"/>
          <style name="line_style"/>
      </CollectionStyle>
    </AdvancedStyle>It is a combination of a color style and a line style styles:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <svg width="1in" height="1in">
        <desc/>
        <g class="color" style="fill:#B6D1CA">
            <rect width="50" height="50"/>
      </g>
    </svg>
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <svg width="1in" height="1in">
      <desc/>
      <g class="line" style="fill:#969696;stroke-width:2;stroke-linecap:BUTT">
        <line class="base"/>
      </g>
    </svg>The styles and theme are created using insert statements, and not the mapbuilder.
    When i take a look at the theme preview in mapbuilder, it will look like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22117905/before_preview.PNG
    Now i open up the advanced style and hit the preview button.
    If i take another look at the theme preview, it will now look like this (and this is the desired output btw.): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22117905/after_preview.PNG
    Now my question is, why does the same theme look different, after previewing the advanced style?
    I tried clearing the cached geometries and metadata cache of mapviewer, but that didn't help.
    Apart from previewing every style, what can i do to make sure that the themes are styled correctly?
    Thanks for help in advance,
    Dirk

    Hello Joao,
    i just found the error. It is in my pl/sql package where i create the styles.
    Mapbuilder showed the staly as in my first post, but that i created looks like this
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <AdvancedStyle>
        <CollectionStyle>
          <style name="color_style" shape="polygon"/>
          <style name="line_style" shape="all"/>
      </CollectionStyle>
    </AdvancedStyle>Notice the "shape=all" attribute in line_style. Apperently Mapbuilder doesn't like it, if i set this in the style. After previewing or saving the style in mapbuilder, the sttribute is removed and the style is correct.
    I now edited my package and rerun it, and now the themes are displayed correctly.
    Regards,
    Dirk
