Graphics Update for a 2007 iMac?

Why is my Software Update telling me to install the new graphics update when, according to the update's description, my iMac isn't affected by it? I have a mid-2007 intel iMac running 10.6.4.

The knowledge base article implies the frame-rate improvements are related to specific machines but there are other fixes that apply to Snow Leopard presumably on any 10.6.4 machine running those products such as Aperture.

Graphics update for snow leopard. HELP!

Hey! I just downloaded a game app called steam(not too important) and i downloaded this game. The only problem is that its insanely laggy. So i wanna know if there are any graphics update for 2011 snow leopard. I checked my version and it says im running 10.6.7. Im not sure if thats goodor bad so someone let me now what i have to do to make my mac a little better with gaming. I do not game a lot, but i really want this game :')

If there is a graphics update, it will be incorporated into an update via Software Update. There is no other way to update graphics cards or drivers in a Mac.
Your Macbook only has 2 GB RAM - it may help to increase RAM (of course that won't help the graphics issue), but it may help.

Can you see them in Disk Utility?
If so, can you select and Mount them?
If not, disconnect them, reset the iMac's SMC and then reconnect them.

3. Wait fifteen seconds.
4. Attach the computer's power cord.
5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
If you still can not see them, connect them back up to the iMac running the older OS, open Disk Utility and look to see how they are partitioned and formatted.

As was recommended, OWC (and a huge variety of other places) have drives that will work for what you need. They may be larger and they may be sata 3 but those are backward compatible. As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...

Picasa-like graphic software for PPC e/iMacs?

I run simple courses for retirees to learn digital photo enhancing and management. I prospective participant has appeared with an older Mac - "one of the rounded ones", she said - and I wonder how I can now help her as Picasa is for Intel-only kit. It is clearly a PPC-based machine but which one, I don't know.
Can anybody recommend a compatible, simple picture enhancing/retouching/managing software that is similar to Picasa, please? Cheap would be good and free even better!

One of Picasa's major points is that it provides many ways to organise images - nothing amazing but all potentially useful for being in one app: folders, Albums, tags, Google-quality searches, batch renaming all come to mind. It's graphical enhancing is fairly pedestrian but adequate and easy to use. One neat trick it has is to hold onto any changes made to files, whether the changes are saved or not, displaying the changes whenever the image is displayed in P but not if the file is approaced directly e.g. via a file manager. I think it's cute, anyway.

I don't think you could pick an average monthly figure. It varies wildly depending on how many apps you have installed (not only Apple apps). Occasional updates to the OS itself seem to roll out every two or three months and could be 500mb-1gb in size. Downloading the OS in its entirety is 5.3gb, although you should hopefully only need to do that rarely and only when you needed to re-install and you didn't have a copy of the installer.
Factor in your everyday use of the internet and it's a difficult one to answer with any accuracy.
How rigid is your ISP with the data cap, and can you increase it on 'as required' basis.

Receive Connector stopped working after Update Rollout 2 for Exchange 2007 SP2

One of the Exchange 2007 servers receive connector has stopped working since installing the latest rollout update for Exchange 2007 SP2 - for some reason the following error is received (when troubleshooting on the adjacent server) :
"Remote server server.domain.co.uk failed the mail acceptance test. MAIL FROM command: Respond = 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated."
Most admins will know you usually get this when first setting up Exchange and the receive connector not allowing anonymous connections. But our setup has been working for well over a year with no problems. Even enabling anonymous connections still doesn't fix the problem.
Our setup is 2 exchange servers across 2 sites, with the problematic server never receiving email from the internet, only from the other Exchange server (which is internet facing). The above error is received when the internet facing server is relaying email over to the problematic server. Though in the message queue the following error is received:
"SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistantDomain; nonecistant domain"
After testing DNS that all seems fine, so I don't believe it's a DNS problem.
Any ideas why this would happen?

To receive e-mails from the external servers or domains or clients, you can setup a new receive connector on Hub Transport Server. To do this task, you can go through the steps mentioned in this blog....

It is possible to install a graphics card for the hp touchsmart iq504 series?

Hey folks I've had my pc for awhile now. According to the datasheet it saids that a graphics card can be upgraded but the power supply may need to also be upgraded check with the company of the graphics card. So i tried email hp but no answer on the question. Im thinking of trying to get either a ati radion 4270 512 mb card or nvida if its allowed. Mostly from online search through google many folks say its upgradeable but when gaming it acts more like a laptop their for performance is horrible. Is this true? I've tried to install games on my laptop that has a radion hd 4250 graphics card but gaming just doesnt add up the same as a desktop. So if anybody has some opinions or tips that could help me in area would gladly appreciate it.

The graphics in the IQ5xx series can not be upgraded in the way you're thinking, the Touchsmart line does indeed resemble a laptop more than a desktop.
In general the opinion is that it is not worth persuing a graphics update for these products.

Problems with Snow Leopard Graphics Update

I downloaded the new graphics update for Snow Leopard, but when I go to install it it says I need at least a version 10.6.4 OS to use it. I double checked my OS, and that is exactly what I have. What's the problem?

Well I found out what was going on in another thread, apparently my computer already has it incorporated in it, just Steam doesn't recognize that.

Desktop Background after graphics update

After I installed the graphics update for 10.6 my desktop reverted to an older picture from my pictures file and will not change to ANYTHING else. Any suggestions??
