Graphite ibook and D-Link Security Camera

Hi
I'd like to connect a security camera to my graphite ibook G3, 366 MHz.
I've networked the camera to the computer.
I cannot get a video image when I access the camera's ip address, whether with JAVA or Active-X.  I tried Safari and Firefox.
Is there a setting or add on I need?  Is it a browser issue?
I'd rather use an older ibook that will be my stand-alone unit for the camera.  I need to keep this camera separate from my network.
Below are the camera specs.
Thanks

Minimum System Requirements

What is the model number on the camera?
I was attempting to find it on Google, but there are many models.
The system requirements you've posted say "Windows," with no indication that Macs are supported.

It looks like more of a "computer doesn't meet minimum hardware or OS requirements" issue. The sysreqs have absolutely no mention of Mac compatibility. You can contact the camera maker to see if they have Mac support files but, as the cam wants a min 1.3 ghz processor and probably an intel one at that, I believe your iBook is much too old to work with that particular camera.
FWIW, iBooks have separate forums here:
    iBook
The one you found is for Macs that predate the G3 processor and thus get little traffic. It can take a while to get and answer in this forum. Consider the iBook forum for future hardware questions--you will get more "eyes" on your question there.

  • How to get my software on my 8900 curve and view home security cameras ?

hello, i was hoping to find a solution on how to access my home security cameras on my 8900 curve ; was told it was possible but the attet tech didnt know how exactly ! is there a way to download my software and view my home cameras on my curve ?

hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You will need to do one (or more) of several things:
    1) Find out if the maker of your cameras has an app for your BB. Do whatever they say to do to make it work.
    2) Create a compatible web page from your cameras that you can then view using your BB web browser. Compatible media streams can be found in this KB:
KB05482 Media types supported on the BlackBerry smartphone
I think this has been done before -- do a wide search on this forum and see if you can find the answers that others have found in the past.

  • How can I view and convert .264 files from my security cameras for use on my Mac and the web?

My security cams record in a .264 file format HD.  I want to view, edit, etc on my Mac, what software will do that and are there any easy tips to do this?  I'm new to Mac's so I'm not sure what is the best format to convert to?  mp4?  Suggestions?
Thanks in advance.  I do love the Mac so far.

I have downloaded the trail....and it won't recognize my .264 files....not sure what the deal is?  Here is a screen shot-they files are "grayed" out....and won't highlight.  Do you see anything wrong?  I'm pulling the files off of a Lorex DVR security system.  LHD200

I keep getting an unknown error when trying to connect to the store. I ran diagnostics and it says secure link to itunes store failed. I've tried all suggestions from apple and nothing will work.
    Please Help

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me...  I only had to reset the iTunes cache
    1) Open iTunes
    2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
    3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
    4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.

  • WIFI Security Camera's that can be monitored from my Macbook and iPhone4

I'm looking to purchase wifi security cameras that I can monitor from my Macbook and iPhone4. Can anybody tell me what the best camera is and what App. is the best to monitor from my iPhone4. Also, how would I set up my Macbook for monitoring. I'm new at this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You usually don't need an app or any software loaded on the phone/computer you are using to view the feed from IP cameras. You go to a web-site set up by the manufacturer, enter your user name and password and you see the picture through the web-browser.
However, check that the system you buy does not use Flash to send the pictures otherwise you won't be able to view them from an iPhone or iPad (but it will be fine on your MacBook).

  • TS1702 I have installed a new version of an APP (mViewer).   This app allows me to view security cameras in my office when I'm away.  I've tried istalling it several times, put in all the information, including passwords and cannot get it to work.?

I have installed a new version of an APP (mViewer).  This app allows me to view security cameras in my office from anywhere.  I've tried installing several times, put in all the information, including passwords, but cannot get it to work either on my iPhone or iPad. Is anyone familiar with this app?  Thank you.

I don't know this app, but I did look it up in the iTunes Store, thinking I would suggest you could visit the developer's (vendor's) site and seek assistance there.
But when I found the app and went to the vendor's site, I found garbage (nothing useful).
    Oh well.

  • I would like to record and edit content for delivery of ip security cameras

I have a  client that has implemented ip security cameras that would like the content edited and distributed on demand. Any design and/or technical advice?

    smgchandler,
Any camcorder that can connect via USB or that can save to an SD card can interface with an iPad if you have the iPad Camera Connection Kit so that you can watch your videos on the new iPad's beautiful retina display.  You can find this on the Apple website or in most big box retail stores.

  • I forgot the answers to my security questions and the link to send an email to my email to reset them is not there.

I forgot the answers to my security questions and the link to send an email to me let me reset them is not there.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • IMac and security cameras

I want to install a camera in my backyard so I can make sure my dog isn't digging up my 30 foot tree while I'm inside. Is there a way to hook the cameras up to my iMac. What would I need?

    Zack,
Thank you so much for this info. I am a newbie to all the wireless/security/router stuff so if I may ask you a couple other things. I have the iMac 10.5.2 so if I am reading correctly I don't need to purchase the Extreme enabler (in network utilities, my wireless network adapter is 802.11 a/b/g/n but may have to upgrade software?? So basically all I have to purchase are the cameras and que the new cameras with my computer IP? Where in Safari do you go to view? I know this may be a stupid question but I'm trying to learn. Also do you know of any cheaper cameras that would work. My whole intent is to just keep an eye on the dog and her destructions! Maybe I'm making it harder than it really is?

  • I forgot security question answer , and the link of reset don't appear

i forgot security question answer , and the link of reset don't appear

How to reset your Apple ID security questions.
Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and password. (If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email)
Go to the Password & Security section on the left side, and click on the link underneath the security questions that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'.  This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.
If that doesn't work, or  there is no rescue email link available, then click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.
    Next, go to https://getsupport.apple.com
(If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')
Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.
    A new page will open.
Choose 'Other Apple ID Topics', then 'Forgotten Apple ID Security Questions'.
    Click the blue 'Continue' button.
Select the contact option that suits your needs best.
