Graphs/charts question

Is there a way to make the classic graph or chart completely one colour, i.e. remove any embossed effects? If possible i would like to have been able to remove or paint black the lines shown in my attached png.  I’ve tried painting them but cant get them to vanish!
Many thanks

  • Can not edit data labels in old graph chart objects using Word 2010

In Word 2010, Insert object "Microsoft Graph Chart", go to Chart Options and check an item in Data labels, such as "Series Name", "Category Name" or "Value". Click OK, then double-click on a data label to edit its
settings, or right-click on a data label and select "Format Data Labels..."
This makes Word to crash. The only way I can get out of it is by using the Task Manager to kill Word.
This happens in Windows 7 and Windows 8. This does NOT not happen in Word 2007 nor Word 2013, so it seems specific to Word 2010. All our clients have the same problem, this does not seem related to a specific workstation configuration.
The Microsoft Graph Chart are the old charts used within .doc files. I have an application still generating those types of files and need to edit data label settings manually before processing the files with my application.
Also note that anytime you edit a .doc file in Word 2010 and you see "Compatibility Mode" in the title bar, the Insert / Chart option from the ribbon inserts an old type chart (same as if you use Insert / Object / Microsoft Graph Chart), not the
new Word 2010 charts. You then have the same problem editing the data labels.
The underlying Activex seems to be the Chart.Exe file, the one I have installed is 14.0.7012.1000. You can see the version by double-clicking the chart and then look in the Help / About menu.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As this is a configuration issue and not a programming issue I' moving your question to a more appropriate forum where you're more likely to find assistance.

  • Graph / Chart show system time in X-Axis.

I try to plot the temperature graph/ chart with respect to my system time. The problem is that the if i select the relative time it starts from 00:00 and if i select absolute time it always starts from 05:00 in 24Hrs.
I need X-Axis Chart/Graph show my system time and in Y- Axis it show the Temperature value which is received from serial port.

First I am very thankful to you for your kind cooperation. As I am beginner
my questions may be the unintelligent.
I have tried it and now the system time shows in graph. I have also a time
sync problem. After initializing graph with the time being the value of time
does not match with system time. Some time it is faster with respect
to system clock and some time it is slower with respect to system clock. I
observed it is slow when the data of graph is 1 byte long and when the data is
2 or 3 bytes long it goes fast.
The another problem is the chart Y-Axis Interpret HEX value (00 to FF) means 0-255
points only. My data is ASCII string with 4 characters like ‘9562’. Every character
will show the weightage as shown in attached file. I want to use the same ASCII
string to the input of graph for single point. Instead of HEX value (00 to FF).
And the another help from your side can you send me the book name or softcopy of LAB

  • Line chart question

I have AW 6. I want to make a color line graph (chart) of some temperature data. The Y axis will be the temperature and the X axis will be the date for a month. So it is a simple temperature vs. date line graph. There will be two sets of data placed on this graph - the maximum temperature for the day and the minimum temperature for that same day for each of the days of the month. Therefore two lines will appear on the chart - Max line and Min line. I have been doing this for years and somehow must have formatted to show the Max line in red and the Min line in blue which makes sense. The data for the graph have been taken from a table showing three columns in the order date, max temp, min temp. However, recently most weather data has been reversed showing the lowest (min) temp for the day first since this occurs in the early morning hours of the day so I have decided to go along with this new trend and now have my table in the order date, min temp, max temp. However, now that I have reversed the order, the min temp line appears in red and the max temp line appears in blue. How do I change the colors to the logical blue for min and red for max. I must be missing something very simple here and have checked all the chart options but must be a bit blind or something.

Make sure you have displayed the legend for the chart, and that you have the Tools showing.
Click on the coloured square for Max in the chart's legend, then click the Pen button in the Tools, then choose the pen colour from the Color palette in the Tools. Click the square for Min and again choose the new Min colour from the palette.
To change the colour of the data points, double click the coloured square in the chart's legend, then click the coloured square beside "Symbol" in the Char Options (Series) dialogue that opens. That will open a Color palette from which you can choose the same colour as you've set for the line. Use the pop up menu "Edit series:" to switch to the Min series and repeat.

  • Is it possible to create an interactive graph/chart using Report Builder 3.0?

    Hi All,
I am using Report Builder for the first time. Here is what I am trying to accomplish. The data I plan to use in Report Builder is coming from SQL Server and in the Report Builder I want to create an interactive graph(chart).
For example, The table in SQL Server consists of Hospital Name, Measure name, and Scores for each measures for different quarters.
The idea is to create a graph that will allow the user to pick the measure name(from a drop down list or something similar) and Hospital name, then the graph will display the measure scores for different quarters and corresponding target scores for that
    particular Hospital.
The data in SQL server looks like this :

Is this is possible to do in Report Builder 3.0? Please share your thoughts.

Thanks a lot for your response.
I was able to create the parameters and now able to select the measure and facility and display that data in the table and chart.
Now I am trying to see if I can add a line(target values) on top of the column chart to show the whether the scores of each measures, for each quarters are how far from the target values.
Please let me know if this is possible.

  • Conditional Colouring of Waterfall Graph/Chart

    Hello to all OBIEE people
Im trying to set the colour 'RED' to a section of the graph when there is a negative variance compared to the previous value
There are 6 values in the graph/chart and they are in this order:
Revenue, Committed, HL, ONW, Adjustments, Revenue_Year_End.
I say 'values' because they are all values from the same column called (Measure).
What im trying to do is have any value turn RED when its worth less then the previous one. So if ONW = 6 and Adjustments = 5 then Adjustments turns RED and so on....
Would that be possible given that they are all values from the same column (Measure) or is there an actuial way that it can be done?
Here is a link of what the chart currently looks like:

    Hi AP,
You scenaio should be able to implemented by combining Excel function and data binding. Take "control the drop down values to be displayed in one combo box or filter based on the selection of another" as an example, the first combox should be binded with a set of fixed labels, say "D" and "M" and insert the selected label to destination cell. Then the labels binded with the second combox can be changed accordingly by using Excel function (say IF) and the destination cell. I can do it easily.

  • How do I create more tabs in my tab control, and place graphs/charts on these.

It has to be done in the program depending on a setup file.
This is due to that I have from 2 till 100 graphs/charts needed to be shown. One graph/chart on each tab.
How many tabs I need comes from the setup file.

This is not really a goo way to approach this. 100 tabs ouch. This would not only be a nightmare to code  and keep up to date but I think it
could be done. Here is an examlpe of how to do it in LV 8 and a file saved for previous into 7.1 it seams to me it was easier to do in lv 7 but I cannot be sure since I no longer have 7.0 or 7.1 on this machine.

I have produced a report based on this data which uses a combination graph chart. The sales for the current year are shown as a vertical bar for each month while the previous year and previous year but one are shown as lines. The report produces the correct output but I would like to add an extra feature
so that the vertical bar for the current year is shown as a stacked vertical bar so that the sales from each region can be seen within the bar rather than the bar just showing total sales. Is this possible byt altering the chart options within the template builder or would it be necessary to write some XSL code to do this ?

Yes and no, here's an example of stacked bar and area graph.

  • Advice request : incorporating graphs/charts within XSQL publishing framework

I wonder if anyone out there could offer any useful suggestions.
I am fairly comfortable with using XSQL to produce fairly advanced web pages.
However, if I wanted to incorporate graphics, specifically graphs and charts, what is the best way of going about this.
All the data that I require to plot the graphs/charts would reside in the database.
I guess Java will be involved, but how would I invoke rountines that would generate graphs/charts on the fly and embed these jpgs/gifs into my XSLT transformed XSQL web pages? Would XSQL action handlers be the best option, for example?
I would prefer to avoid SVG due to the plug-in requirement for web browsers.
Any code samples would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jeff,
You can use Oracle Business Intelligence Graph bean component for generating Graph on the server side.
    oracle.dss.graph.Graph
This bean provides methods to create graph in GIF, PNG, JPG format. This bean can be used with non OLAP data source too.
    See
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/bib/content.html
You can also used 'Persepcitve for Java' shipped with JDdeveloper.
    See <oracle-home>/jlib/Lw_PfjBean.jar
    Thanks,

  • SVG Multi Graph/Chart with line and bar

    I have a request for a "Multi-Graph-Chart"
showing both - line chart and
    - bar-chart with respective data.
Can you provide for the sourcecode, which is behind the SVG chart wizard enabling us to develop an own/individual SVG chart ?
    pls kindly advise.
    Bernhard
nb. I mailed u this request already - but thought this might be of interest to others as well.

    Marc
I would support this addition to functionality. I currently have a client who has a requirement for complex charting in HTMLDB, and I am looking at the SVG packages in HTMLDB, ie: WWV_FLOW_SVG, but as you say they are not independent APIs and rely heaviliy on the application's metadata. This is a shame as I could quite easily handle a nice PL/SQL API that would let me create custom SVG, instead of generating the SVG manually and embedding that in the page.
    Cheers
    Ben

Last point...who archives? On my regular email page I now have the Archive icon to the left of my Delete icon which I would prefer was to the left, first in the line as this is the icon I use mostly. With Folders, my Sent and Trash lists, who needs to archive?

  • Saving data from graph/chart to use next time a VI is run

    Hi all!
I am not sure if this is even possible, or whether someone has maybe
done something like this. I need to save the data from a graph or chart
during each run of a VI. I then want to call this data back into the Vi
the next time it is run so it can be displayed at the same time that
the VI runs. I need to do this in order to compare measurements from
different setups during each measurement. This way I will have a
reference to be able to observe what influences different changes in
the system has had in comparison to a previous test.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks for the help!
    Charel Marais

There are a few points to this.
First, you need to decide whether you want to save the data or just hold it in memory. Saving it to the hard drive will be more complex, depending on the format of your data, but you can search for "file" in the example finder (Help>>Find Examples) and look at the VIs in the file I\O palette.
If you simply want to hold the data in memory until the next time the VI is run, you can simply use a local variable or a shift register. You can search the example finder for "shift register" for some examples.
The key to what you want is using multiple plots on your graph\chart. When you do, you can take the data from your last run and simply insert it into the graph as an extra plot, which will be visible at the same time as your new data. Again, search the example finder, this time for "graph" or "chart" to see how to work with multiple plots.
To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

    Hi,

With the new requirements they are willing to upgrade the system to automate process of the Excel  Charts and Graphs generation with BOXI R3 Graphs/Charts.
I have to explain the user about the advantages and disadvantages of BOXI R3 over Excel.
I guess using BOXI R3 would be an added advantages with few limitations over Excel.
So i request to tell me the major differeneces between Excel and BO Graphs/ Charts which is practically possible and which is not possible.

    Hi,
there is no such document.  I can assure you of that.
Btw - as of BI4.0 - BusinessObjects charting is significantly improved, and much more powerful than Excel.
VCOM charting engine is now common accross the entire suite (all tools leverage it) , and you might recognise it from Explorer
if you check out page 169 onwards from this guide: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4_ia_en.pdf  it lists:
    Bar charts
    Box plot charts
    Column charts
    Surface charts
    Tree map charts
    Pie charts
    Heat map charts
    Point charts
