to map special characters you need to use an element called CDATA in your mapping
a special character causes an error....as XI wont be able to read it (as it is not in a proper XML format)...so to parse this character through XI without causing an eror use the CDATA....just make a search on SDN and you will find the proper use of it....

  • Regd : Rules in SAP Virsa

I am a beginner in SAP Virsa. I am having one doubt in it
How to create rule in SAP virsa ? Is this rule is automatically generated for each module ? As as security consultant how can we identify the risks in the Functional module . Is that we need help of functional guys in each module to explain the critical risks. Also i understand that it is Segregation of duties of each employee in organization. But how we identify the risk factors in it. How to generate the corresponding role for it.
Can any one please brief me out ... I am very eager to know about this Virsa. Thanks for your help in advance

    Hi Sanjeev,
It's worth checking out the user guide for c/c:
    https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=OBJECT&_HIER_KEY=501100035870000015092&_HIER_KEY=601100035870000206624&_HIER_KEY=601100035870000212731&_HIER_KEY=601100035870000210510&_HIER_KEY=701100035871000519581&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&#HOME
That will tell you how to create rules or change the ones supplied with the tool & goes the structure of how they are set up.
When identifying the risks you need to get the business and the functional consultants to analyse the existing ruleset and make any changes that are relevant to your business.

  • Blank values in RAR Rules - RAR (SAP GRC AC 5.3)

    Hello,
We are working on the deployment of a GRC Access Control 5.3 system in a main customer and we have found next issues about AC 5.3:
When a rule with a Blank value in u201CValue Fromu201D and u201CValue Tou201D columns is set, RAR is not taking users with any u201CValue Fromu201D / u201C Value Tou201D for that rule. In fact we are seeing that only users with value: * in u201CValue Fromu201D column are taken. It doesnu2019t fit with the standard SAP practices. Could you confirm this issue? How could we set a rule for taking any value?
    Rule Example:
Object: F_BKPF_BUK   Field: ACTVT    Value From:      Value To:         Condition: AND            Status: ENABLE
    User1 value:
Object: F_BKPF_BUK   Field: ACTVT    Value From: 4   Value To:         (Itu2019s NOT taken)
    User2 value:
Object: F_BKPF_BUK   Field: ACTVT    Value From: 5   Value To:         (Itu2019s NOT taken)
    User3 value:
Object: F_BKPF_BUK   Field: ACTVT    Value From: *   Value To:         (Itu2019s taken)
    Best regards.

You need to distinguish between the value in the authorization field of the object and the search pattern.
is only looking for the field name. It does not even care about the value.
Values '4' and '5' are not valid for F_BKPF_BUK (see table TACTZ) so unless you populate UST12-BIS (what you call "Value To:" then you won't get a result.
I faintly suspect that you are "cooking the books" at the file level, and are expecting the GRC system and possibly the ABAP system as well to use the same logic?
Can you explain what User1 + User2 are expected to achieve with these values.
The system does sometimes make DUMMY checks (see the ABAP key word documentation in transaction ABAPDOCU) but this is not the correct strategy to pass those checks in my opinion.
I also suspect that this is an "action" in the customer name space. Perhaps you are using an unreleased FM instead of a BOR object? See transaction BAPI for more infos and finding the correct BOR (Business Object Repository) so that your RAR is not confused by dodgey coding....
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Day light Savings new rules affect SAP installs?

How is the new Daylight Savings rule going to affect / effect SAP?
"In 2007, U.S. Daylight Saving Time (DST) will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November.  This change in the schedule -- the first in 20 years -- will make U.S. Daylight Saving Time four weeks longer.  The U.S. Energy Act of 2005 drove this change, which is intended to reduce energy consumption.  While the business risk associated with having our systems reflect the wrong time by one hour for four weeks in 2007 is not as great as Y2K, the extent of the IT impact is not trivial and may impact clients in the U.S, as well as in non-U.S. geographies. "
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

    Hi Bhaskar,
Daylight Savings Time dates are different all over the world and a change in dates in one country does not directly affect SAP.  There are steps that need to be taken regardless of the exact date that the change falls on each year.  Please see SAP Notes 7417, 950114, 438660, 102088, 398374, 673556, 643844 and others (just search Notes with keywords "Daylight Savings Time").

  • Substitution Rule in SAP 7.0

    Hello Experts,
    We are in SRM 7.0
What is the meaning and the functionality of u201CFill in for meu201D selection, that can be met in the course of the engaging of the substitution rule? What is the difference between u201CReceive my tasksu201D and u201CFill in for meu201D?
Any pointer will be highly appreciated,
    Regards,
    Rupesh

    Hi,
Receive my tasks means that your taslks will be traasfered to your substitutes for the period determined meaning between start and end date.
Fill in for me means that if you didn't plan to be unavailable (no start and end date), your substitute could take your tasks.

  • Error occurred in derivation rule in SAP

    Hi All
i am trying to post the document as well to create the new PR i am getting the below error messge as
'Error occurred in derivation rule. See long text
    Message no. K/101
    Diagnosis
    : Fund From Commitment Item
No entry in a derivation rule was found for the specified source fields.
The derivation rule was set up so that an error message appears when this happens.
The required derivation rule entry would need the following source fields:
    Commitment Item
    350801
    Procedure
Create an entry in a derivation rule for these source field values. Make sure that entries exist for all the valid source field values. If the derivation should not always be carried out, you can also define a derivation rule so that no error message appears if a derivation rule entry does not exist.

    Hi Krishguna,
You need to check your derivation rule, T. Code: FMDERIVE for Fund then activate the trace, this will help you why fund is not deriving from commitment item, or tell us the detail of derivation for fund you have set.
    Thanks

  • SAP Building the rule in SAP Classification.

    Hello MM folks,
Have you come acroiss situation where you can build the rule to search Material by charactrerisc and class using '001'- Material class as a searching functionality. Can you please give me steps.

John , thanks for your response.
When you do a serach in CL30N, Enter the class name and class type '001'  ( for my case).
It will give choice to choose the appropriate characteristics.
    For examples.
    Here is the company catalog.
    DESKTOP MOdel Catolog
    Speed            HD
    1 Ghz           30 GB
    1 GHz         40 GB
    1.4 Ghz         50 GB
    1.4 Ghz         60 GB
CLASS : DESKTOP with 2 Characteristics.
    Characteristic :
    A. Speed  : 1 GHZ , 1.4 GHZ
    B. HD     : 30 GB , 40 GB, 50 GB, 60 GB
Based on the Model, I have created Different parts.
Now When I search thru CL30N to find the Material.
I entered the First characteristic : 1 GHZ
THen I enter the second characterics,The system should propose only relevent 30 GB and 40 GB. It seems that these works in other ERP systems.
Question : Is it feasible to change the configuration or add user exit to propose relevent characteristics based on first one in the Search engine CL30N.
Appreciate , if you  could provide me your help.
Just to update you that  we are not using any Variant configuration feature.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Calculation rules in free goods

    Hi Friends,
In free goods condition record NA00, in calculation rule field, there are 3 options - Pro rata; unit reference; Whole units.
Please give an example for each calculation rule as to how system should calculate if we select one of the options.
    Thanks

    Hello,
There are three standard rules in SAP for free goods calculation, there are, 1. Prorata ( Propotional), 2. Unit reference, 3. Whole Units.
A company offers free goods to their customers when they order certail materials. When a customer buys 100 numbers of a product, he gets 20 numbers free.
    1. Rule 1 ( Prorata)
In this rule, if the customer order for 162 pieces, the system calculates 32 to as free goods ( 162 X 20/100).
    2. Rule 2 Unit Reference:
When you maintian this rule, the above scenario becomes:  The customer get only 20 as free goods. (100 X 20/100), as the system will consider as 20 free for every full 100 purchased.
    3. Rule 3, whole units:
If you maintian this the sstem will give only 0 as free because it will not consider 162 as it is not the multiple of 100.

  • What are the must have SAP componets req to publish MDM 7.1.03.86 on web

Can anyone explain to me what are the SAP components required for MDM 7.1.03.86 allowing me create a webpage front end to MDM 7.1 and create and publish my own screens?
Like many I am very new to the world of SAP.
There are many others in my own company with a vast knowledge of what are all the pieces needed to run almost anything
In SAP. One of the exceptions to this rule is SAP Master Data Management (MDM).
    We run:
    - SAP MDM version 7.1.03.86
    - A Windows 2003 server
    - Oracle 10.X.
    - 7.1 Import Manager
    - 7.1 Import Server
    - 7.1 Data Manager
    - 7.1 Syndication Server
    - I see reference to the 7.1 MDM Publishers but I donu2019t see the API in the way I have software loaded right now.
I would like to get to the point where I can create a web portal front end to the MDM product.
My problem is I canu2019t get anyone to give me a an answer as to what are the other pieced of software I would need to get
In an end to end solution. Starting with barebones and working up to the works!
Here is what I would like to be able to do:
    - Publish in a SAP Portal screens to the web. (SAP NetWeaver CE Portal, PI Portal ????)
    - Write code in Java, SQL, VB and more, save and test them. (SAP NetWeaver WebDynpro for Java ???)
    - create a web screen in the portal and publish to a Portal or URL. (SDK kit or Developer's kit Like: SAP NetWeaver
    Developer Studio ???)
    - It looks to me like the "SAP NetWeaver BPM" product is "Nice" to have but not required.
This is soo confusing, PLEASE help!
    Thank You
    Steve T

    Hi Steve
    Adding to Anu's response:
The prebuilt packages (worksets) cannot be used on a CE portal - only on a NW Enterprise Portal.
iView templates are also provided which allows you to put together your own pages and worksets. Again, these require the Enterprise Portal.
You don't have to use an SAP portal. You can use any webserver combined with Java code
(that makes use of the MDM Java API) to access the data (check out http://catalog.bd.com/ for a sample of this). Of course, this requires a lot more effort on your side.
"SAP NetWeaver BPM" amounts to NetWeaver CE. It is required if you want to make use of the WebDynpro components in new MDM releases.
Since you mentioned the MDM Publisher, if you want to simply publish "read only" data to a web front-end, you may be able to make use of the MDM Publisher together with Adboe InDesign.
Java code can make use of the MDM Java API. Windows development tools can make use of the MDM COM and MDM .NET APIs.

  • Forwarding XML/EDI from SAP Business connector to EDI (cloverleaf)

    Hello,
We are having issues setting SAP up to work with the business connector and our EDI system - cloverleaf.
For testing, we would like to:
    1.  Create an idoc in SAP and send it to the Busness Connector.
    2.  Have the busness connector send the doc via XML to our EDI system cloverleaf.
Currently, I have things setup like so:
    SAP/ECC6:
SM59: RFC setup as type T and works fine.
    WE20: Partner Type LS:
I have 2 message types setup (in outboard: I have "orders" and in Inbound I have the same).
in WE21: I have a cloverleaf (our EDI system) to run with the RFC destination I setup in SM59.
On the Business connector, I have the following under routing rules:
From SAP to the Business connector:
    Sender: 8805
    Reciver: 10000000008
    Message Type: Orders
    ACL Group: none
    Package: default
    Main Flow Services: wm.PartnerMgr.flows.88605.1000000008:ORDERS
    Transport: ALE (R3/IDOC)
    SAP destination: RD1 (our sid).
FOR my outgoing to our EDI system cloverleaf:
I am using the sender: * - Not sure if this should be SAP or the BC.
Reciver:  *  - Our EDI system.  our EDI system is listening on port 49001.
    Message Type: Orders
Under URL (not sure about this one)
    I have  http://reg2lxap0725:5555/MessagingSystem/receive/BcAdapter/BC
I am however stummped on how the URL shold look..
Now, when we test the above config...  I recive the following results in WE02.
    0000000000003024  25     03 Green Light: IDoc Successful Green     LS/  /SAPBC     ORDERS05     ORDERS     Outbox     CLOVERLEAF
For some reason, we also have an "inbound" that fails.
    0000000000003025  25     56 Red Light: IDoc Has Errors           KU/  /0000088605 ORDERS05 ORDERS Inbox     SAPRD1
My main question is however around routing...
We are trying to send these to our EDI system which is listening on 49001.
I am not sure how they want us to setup the routing rules to pass this over to the right port..
I have also  searched the documentation, and have not found any real step by step guides, so I may be missing a few things..
Any advice to point me to the right direction is greatly appriciated....
    Thanks  everyone,
    Richard

    Hello Prateek,
Thank you very much for your answer. The AdapterGuide was really helpfull.
Now the routing rule is associated to the correct Service (that was a the problem). So the rule started to process the XML files from the folder (the XML files disappeared immediately after I corrected the rule).
But now my problem is that on the SAP side there is no inbound IDOCs so it seems the trasmission may failed.
Moreover under "Routing"-->"Transactions" I don't see these entries with the the current date.
Our routing rule is simple: "wildcard" "wildcard" "wildcard" "ALE (R/3 IDOC)"--><OUR SAP SYSTEM>
The SAP connection is working as I can test under "SAP..." menu.
Is there any other way to monitor what had happened with these XML files? I'm sure the BC processed as the files are gone, but there is no IDOC in the destination SAP...
    Thanks a lot!

  • Download runtime version of rule used and create in bpm process

    Dear experts,
does anybody know, if there is a possibility of updating used brm rules used in a bpm process? There seems to be a way, when you create a separate brm project:
Importing an Updated Project into the Rules Composer - Working with the Rules Manager - SAP Library
How does this work for rules coming from bpm?
Do i really have to manually export and import things e. g. over excel for this?
    Regards,
    Markus

    Dear Siddhant,
thanks a lot for your reply. You got it perfectly right.
What do you mean with "always points to the updated rules"?
Do you mean, that using the "Download runtime version" feature on the brm project helps us to keep the rule up-to-date within NWDS?
