Gray lines while converting 2010 Word images to pdf

With the new Acrobat version X1, I've run into a problem every time I try to convert images on a Word 2010 document to a PDF.  While all lines on the document are black, many of the lines including bubble-notes appear very light grey, and difficult to read.  I've searched for months for a solution without any luck, and I tried other computers with different versions to verify it wasn't just my machine.
Is there a specific setting that I need to change during conversion so that black lines remain black instead of this weird gray-scale problem?  See below for example.
Before, snapshot taken from Microsoft Word:
After conversion in .PDF document format, taken from Acrobat XI:

Word:
I attempted to change the picture format, specifically the image control.  Three of the four options - Automatic, Grayscale, Black & White - produced no different results.  The fourth "Washout" option made the problem worse, as the dwg became brighter in both the .doc and the .pdf.
Autocad:
Changing the lineweights made no difference either.  Our company standard is black background, white object lines, but even when I reverse it and make the line colors as dark as possible, I get grey lines during conversion.

  • Converting a word document to pdf loses bevel effect

Does anyone know why when converting a word document to pdf the bevel effect is completely lost?

Following up with AA XI and WORD 2010 on Win7. It worked find. Apparently WORD 2007 did not see the bevels and the do appear in WORD 2010. I also got the bevels using the Std job settings with both the Print and the PDF Maker. I am using 11.0.07, so if you are using an earlier version, you might consider updating to the most current version. Then again, you may not be using XI. I did note that the Print version used my default page size of letter rather than the A4 that PDF Maker picked up from the original document. That is easy to correct by paper selection in the printer properties. However, in both versions I saw issues that appear to be due to the printer metrics changes based on the Adobe PDF printer not being selected as the printer during editing. Two factors show up and make editing a bit harder -- no hard page breaks (ctrl-Enter) and the use of floating figures. The latter is something I have lots of problems with, but you may be good with them. However, when the document reflows that can still be a problem. I did see some reflow problems in both files, so it is something you need to go back and review.
    The bevels:
The Reflow Problem (from PDF Maker on A4 paper):
Maybe that helps some. So info on your versions of WORD, Acrobat, and OS would help isolate issues. As I mentioned, this Acrobat is 11.0.07. Don't know why WORD 2007 did not see your bevels.

  • Unable to convert Microsoft Word doc. to PDF in Words (there is no response)

Unable to convert Microsoft Word doc to PDF in Words (Does not respond) or Create PDF from a Word doc. in Adobe Acrobat X Standard 10.1.1 with all updates installed. I receive apop-up saying "Missing PDF Maker Files: Dou you want to run the installer in Repair Mode"  I have done this several times. I have un-installrd and re installed the program twice. Still does not work. I'm running Windows 7 Home version and Microsoft Office XP 2002. This is a brabd new Acrobat program right out of the box. Suggestions Please.

In WORD 2002, I believe you can only print to the Adobe PDF printer. I think that WORD 2003 is the first compatible with AA X. Check out http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333504.html.

I have adobe acrobat pro for windows and it is freezing up when I try to convert a word file to pdf... I have tried to get this done six ways from Sunday but it is just not working... help!  Chris.

It would be helpful to know what version of Acrobat, WORD, and operating system.
Without that info, I would suggest at this point to open your WORD file and then go to the print menu and print to file using the Adobe PDF printer. Open the created file in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, check to see if AcroTray is running in the background.
You say you tried many ways. It would help to know what you tried and what worked or did not work, and at what point the failure occurs.

  • How do I access Adobe from Word to convert a word document to pdf?

How to I access an Adobe command in Word to convert a Word document to pdf?

Certain versions of Word will have an Adobe PDF menu in the ribbon, which allows you to convert the Word file you're viewing to a PDF directly, maintaining all the links, bookmarks, destinations, etc. in it.
The other option is to use the PDF Printer and print the Word document to a PDF. This will result in a "flat" copy of the file, without any of the meta-elements described above. Basically the same as printing it out, only you use a virtual printer that generates a PDF file.

  • Abobe v8: Problems with converting from word 2003 to PDF

I use one of those free conversion tools, since i am a student. My problem is that i have a word document with a unique page margin. When i convert from word 2003 to pdf everything gets converted except the page margin which is much bigger then it's supposed to be. Do anyone know how i can fix that?, any help are appriciated.

You cannot fix anything in Reader. If you have a problem with the tool
used to create your pdf, please ask in their forum.

  • Michaelp70541244. I have converted a word doc. to pdf, but none of the fonts are embedded.

    Anyone know the answer?

    Hi michaelp70541244,
What did you use to convert the Word doc to PDF? Regardless of the method you used, however, some fonts will never be embedded, if licensing for those fonts restricts it.

  • Convert arabic word document to pdf using Inbound Refinery

convert arabic word document to pdf using Inbound Refinery creating problem. After pdf convert the converted pdf changes to left to right instead of right to left.

In that case you will need to look at the Adobe LiveCycle ES PDF Generator product, as it is licensed and suitable for server-based conversion.  Adobe Acrobat can not legally be used in the environment that you describe.

  • I am having trouble converting a word doc to PDF.

    Dear Community,
I cannot convert a Word document to PDF.  It has always worked before and I tried a small word doc and it worked fine.  Is my other document too big?
    Thanks

    Bill,
You were right.  I checked the file and I had an earlier compatibility problem.  I converted the file to a newer version of Word and so far it seems to have worked.
    Thank you for your help.

¿Cómo convertir un word en un pdf con espacios para rellenar por otro usuario?

    Hi Juan,
To create a PDF form (I think that's what you're asking about), you need Acrobat. You can convert the Word file to PDF, and then use the Forms tools to add form fields that other users can fill in. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • Can't convert to word or edit pdf?

I bought pdf995suite but can't convert to word or edit pdf files. I thought that was what I was buying. Have I done something wrong or is that function an added feature I have to pay for. Very confused

This is the wrong place, sorry. PDF 995 is nothing to do with Adobe.
Adobe's ExportPdF does convert to Word (sometimes)
Adobe Acrobat does edit PDF (but rarely what people want)
