Gray snow, hides left top dots and blurs scroll bars, how can I repair this?

After I cleaned up my macbookair, by throwing away some unused software, the fill out fields and the red, yellow and green dots and scroll bar all turned into gray snow. Still works but I need to guess where the dot's are in the gray snow.

Anybody, can you tell me how to repair this? Re starting doen not help. closing and opening also does not work.
I am not sure if I have mountain lion, or so, at least I can't find where it should be.
I only have my macbook air two months now.
I did find information after clicking the apple in left upper corner that I use OS X 10.8.2

I Just re-installed itunes, and there the problem is gone.
But can I re-install Finder, Safari and App store?
How, and how do I know what version I need?
Does de Apple site provide these downloads?

My firefox browser window will not stay in full screen mode, it keeps reducing itself so I can't use the scroll down button on the side, so I have to constantly minimize and maximize to get to the scroll bar, How can I stop this?

Like I said it happens every few minutes... It is annoying when you are on the internet for more than a few minutes because you constantly have to either minimize it or reduce the screen manually by hitting the button and then maximize it again to get the scroll bar to be in view to use it.

What iOS are you currently running?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.

Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Connect your ipod upto thecomputer
View > Show Sidebar then you will see your device on the left hand side.
Select Device by clicking on the name
Select Music from the options on the right
untick Sync Music
Click Apply bottom right.
All the music should now be taken off your ipod
When Finished
re tick Sync Music Select what Albums, Artists, Genres and playlists you want
Click Apply and you should be back where you started

If your music was purcansed from the iTunes Store and your country allow is you can redownload it
Login to itunes as yourself on this computer then

You will also need to authorise that computer so you can play the content.
Ctrl B to turn on the top menu
Store > Authorise this Computer...
Type in your Apple ID and password and authorise.

As I said in the other thread that you posted in the other forum, your friend clearly has not restored the iPad correctly. I suggest that you undertake another restore and start again.

Welcome to the Apple community.
Given what you've have described, your friend cannot have restored the iPad correctly. You need to decide whether you are willing to delete his contacts manually, or carry out another restore. Personally I think I would go for the restore.

"Sounds like you guys are using the same apple id for imessage. You will need to create a separate id for you wife. OR go to settings - message - receive&send and make sure your phone number is the default for both you and yoru wife.

Restore your media from the backup of the computer created prior to restoring the computer.
You did create a backup, correct? Not doing so would be extremely unintelligent.
iOS devices are NOT backup devices.
