Gray waves at the bottom of my display

i was using my mbp today and all of the sudden i noticed waves about an inch high starting from the bottom of my screen...it was like gray and white waves from left to right all the way across...i restarted the computer and it was gone...???

The bottom part of display whiter than the rest, white on right side more brownish

So I got a new replacement of my Thunderbolt Display, this time the one I got is straight (previously left side was lower than the right side), however I can see in new one that the bottom part of the display seems to be more white (you can see a slight horizontal line at the bottom) and also on the right side of the display white colour seems to be more brownish.
I have been wondering if that is acceptable for Thunderbolt monitor? Is that a backlit bleed on white? Can you see anything on the photo I have made or am I going slightly mad?:) Please help.

The display uses LED technology which means there will be some bleeding or clouding of light on dark backgrounds (mostly from the edges). You should not have any brown color on the right side as your image shows unless perhaps you need to make some adjustments on your graphics card. I use mine with a 2012 Mini and it has good colors.

Gray bar on the bottom of newtab?

so my firefox just updated itself recently and gave me an unpleasant surprise on my newtab
i use the addon stylish to customize my newtab and there is this annoying gray bar right on the bottom as seen in this screenshot

@cor-el: yes, the problem seems to be extension related since starting it at safe mode removes the gray bar. unfortunately changing it to default theme only changed its color to white lol (with stylish turned on)
@the-edmeister: i think so too, but im not really well versed in creating my own userstyle codes and i only copy pasted mine from an article on "how to change your newtab background" which was meant for firefox 13
oddly enough that code was working fine until this last update
if you could kindly help me find an updated userstyle that would be most helpful

White horizontal lines across the bottom of Macbook display

Shortly after I turned on my Macbook last night, the bottom of the screen started to flicker and solid white lines appeared across the bottom of my screen. They go up roughly a couple inches from the bottom, and fade towards the right of the display.
When I restart my computer, They reappear as macosx is loading.
When I mouse over these white lines, the cursor is unaffected, yet they dont appear when I screenshot.
I've gone back through all the discussions but couldnt find any solutions =S
Ideas?

The effect is rare but not unknown. Unless it's a hardware issue, you might be able to use this fix.

Blue line at the bottom of my display

My MacBook locked up (I couldn't eject a DVD nor could I turn the machine off) so I had to remove the battery to turn the machine off. When I turned the machine back on (1) the MacBook's display remained dark and (2) my Cinema Display had somehow changed its display resolution to 800x600. I fixed the Cinema Display's resolution easily enough and got the MacBook's display running by changing its resolution to 1280x768 (60 Hz). I don't know what the original MacBook display resolution was, but 1280x768 appears to be it. The problem is that now there is a half-inch wide light blue line running across the bottom of the display.
What should I be doing to get rid of that line?
Any help is appreciated.

The computer appears to have worked out the problem itself. After hitting "Close" and then restarting (as opposed to selecting "Restart"), the display menu came up with "Cinema Display" and "LCD Display" windows set at 1280x800. Everything's back to normal. The puzzling part of this was that prior to shutting off the machine, the display menus were "Cinema Display" and "Display" (not "LCD Display"). I don't know where the "Display" window came from, but now it's gone and things work fine.

I have a 1/8 inch space at the bottom read messages display which prevents me from closing the email without closing this space which comes back when reopening

The tab for closing the message is hidden at the top. When I close the gap, I can close the message. How do I permanently fix this problem so the tab will always be present?

Hello, I was attempting to sync my iPod, 5th generation and the bottom bar is displaying that my "Documents and Data" are over capacity.

I attempted to do some research and I tried to manage my usage. I deleted apps. I also deleted my cookies. Nothing seems to be working. Someone please help me.

The Windows 7 pop up screen at the bottom toolbar does not function with Firefox 4. Instead there are now tabs on top. The Windows 7 feature was handy because one could easily see which pages you're working on. How can I fix this?

One of the Windows 7 features is the pop up box icon at the bottom toolbar which displays which pages are open when scrolling over it. After installing Firefox 4 this function does not work anymore, instead it was replaced by Firefox tabs above.

I believe you are talking about taskbar previews. To enable them you need to change a hidden preference.

Full screen RIA + html picture on the bottom

I have this problem:
My flash movie is set to 100% height / 100% width.
But i also want to insert picture on the bottom using HTML on html page where flash movie is also embedded.
The problem is that flash movie takes all the page anyway, and the picture on the bottom is not displayed.

I don't have the Flex package but I do have Flash CS4.
I authored a quick .SWF 550x400 pixels (default) with a looping animation to see that it was Flash.
I used Dreamweaver to author the code to embed the Flash on the HTML page.
I then created a quick CSS style in the HTML page itself (not an external CSS style sheet) defining the margins for the image. I used negative values to pull the image back and over the SWF. If you use positive values, the CSS margin rule will push the image away from the borders of the browser, but negative values will pull the image back over the borders and/or image that is next to it. Give it a try. Remember, TRBL (Top Right Bottom Left) are the rules for placing margins in order in CSS (i.e., .class{margin: T px R px B px L px} where TRBL are numbers without quotes--you must use the px suffix to specify pixel units unless you use % or "em" as a suffix or some other value definition)

How do you disable the notifications that display at the bottom of the page when requesting a page (i.e. "waiting...", "connecting...")? I am trying to run Firefox in a kiosk mode and remove any indication that the content is online.

I have an iFrame setup to display multiple pages using a timer and an array to automatically change the source of an iFrame every "x" seconds. Each time the iFrame source is changed, a small gray notification box appears (for about 1 second or so) at the bottom left part of the screen that seems to indicate a new page is loading. I would like to remove that notification so the page will change seamlessly without indicating that the source for the iFrame has changed.

You can use this extension to hide the pop-up that shows the URL of a link on hover and other data that previously appeared on the Status bar.

My blue task/status bar at the bottom of the page is no longer visible. How do I turn that back on? The status bar feature under view does display it.

For some reason the blue status/task bar that would normally display at the bottom of the webpage (shows time, etc.) is no longer visible. I do not know how it got turned off and going to view-status bar simply enables a gray bar to display that says "done". I have searched using terms like "display task bar", etc and nothing comes up but view- status bar.

That is the Windows Taskbar and not part of Firefox.
The Firefox Status Bar shows messages like Looking up and Waiting for and loading and Done.
If you do not see that Taskbar with Firefox closed then you may have hidden it.
Try to move the mouse at the bottom and see if you can pull it up with the left mouse button pressed.
If the Taskbar disappear if you open Firefox the check the Properties of the Taskbar to make sure that it is always visible.

Your Mac is in warranty, so any problem you have will be repaired free of charge (always that you did not cause the problem). Get an external drive (if you do not have one), make a backup of your files with Time Machine and take your Mac to an Apple Store or reseller. Note that the repair may take days depending on how busy Geniuses are.
Respecting to the problem, it could be a bad display connector, a damaged GPU or even RAM (in MacBooks Pro with Retina display, RAM is soldered to the logic board, so this is a very expensive repair out of warranty).

With iOS 5 to remove an app from the recently used list (bottom row after double clicking the Home button) you tap and swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app you want to remove. Swiping the app icon does nothing.
