GRC AC 5.3 Hardware RAM specification of 1 J2EE system.
Hello,
I have a hardware doubt... We want to install the SAP GRC AC 5.3. The four application in the same SAP NW 7.0 AS Java instance.
I have read some specification about each application, it talked about the SAPs that it need it each one.
The question is... Do I have tu add all the RAM of each application, or do I have to get only the bigger RAM application???
What I mean is do I have to add the RAR, ERM, CUP & SPM RAM of each other, or do I have to get the bigger RAM to use in the J2EE system???.
Best Regards...
pablo Mortera.
Hi Pablo,
It depends on which functionalities you will be executing at same time or simulataneously.
It should be mentioned in the AC 5.3 sizing guide at
https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000071612&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700000435122007E
Did you use T-shirt sizing or Expert sizing? My personal recommendation is to have enough SAPs available for Risk analysis in RAR, CUP and ERM and management report. All other activities are mostly initial synchronization.

Alpesh

Why is best buy selling 8GB of RAM in a 32 bit system
Ok, I'm not the most tech savy person out there, but I am looking for a new computer and I just noticed that best buy is selling a lot of computers with more than 4GB of RAM on a 32 bit system. If it's not possible for a 32 bit system to use more than 4GB of RAM why is Best Buy bothering to put more than 4 in? Some cases say 8GB of RAM with the ability to upgrade to 16 ... Am I wrong about 32 bit systems? Or is best buy trying to rip off their customers by making people think there system is faster than it actually is?
RealGeorgeW wrote:
I would have to agree that almost all computers right now are shipping with 64bit OS's installed on them.
Unfortunately, most of the spec sheets on the website are prepared by the manufacturer, so discrepancies are on them to send updated info to BBY to fix.
That being said, I do vaguely recall a machine I had that only had a 32bit version of windows installed, but correctly identified 8GB of RAM. That was a while ago, I wish I could remember how/why it worked.
I recently built a new system and accidentally installed Windows 7 32-bit. For some reason the operating system was able to detect my 8GB of RAM, which was part of the reason why I didn't realize I had installed the wrong OS for several hours. After doing some research on this puzzling issue, I learned my motherboard may have had some special capability to override the 32-bit limitation or something.

Hi folks, you might know how to fix this: my wifi shows (no hardware installed) then I went to system preferences and deleted the wifi connection, I went also to system information and I can not see wifi listed on Network, how can I create a new wifi or simply solve this, I have tryied shotdown pressing keys like P and R, option, etc. Please help me .
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
New RAM doesn't show on System Profiler
Hi, I just installed additional 1 Gb of RAM in my Mac Pro but the new RAM doesn't show on System Profiler whether I have it inserted on Riser A or B but everything is working fine. What gives?
By the way, my Mac Pro has 2 x 512Mb RAM pre-installed on Riser A and I didn't buy the new RAM from Apple. Thanks for the help.Hi Kappy,
I don't think the 1Gb RAM I bought is faulty cos:
1. It shows on System Profiler when installed on Riser A DIMM 1 (without original 2 x 512Mb RAM)
2. It shows on System Profiler when installed on Riser A DIMM 1 with 2 x 512Mb on DIMM 3 & 4
The funny thing is in scenario 2, System Profiler shows that I have a total of 1.5Gb. 1Gb on Riser A DIMM 1 and 512Mb on DIMM 3 appear but not the other 512Mb on DIMM 4. Why???
I'm beginning to think that I should have bought 2 x 512Mbs instead of one 1Gb. So I'm getting 1.5Gb of RAM instead of 2Gb!
Do you think if I purchase another one 1Gb RAM and have them installed in sequence (1Gb DIMM 1, 1Gb DIMM 2, 512Mb DIMM 3, 512 DIMM 4), I would then have 3Gb installed?
Thanks for your help once again. -
Where can I learn about Laptop hardware/ram/etc information?
First off: I had no idea how to phrase the above question. Sorry if I categorized it wrong...
Here's my predicament:
I was thinking of downloading/purchasing Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium... However, I read the tech specs for it and was immediately frightened! I have literally no comprehension whatsoever of Laptop hardware/processor/ram related things. Does anyone know a good website that can explain those things (EVERYTHING) to me? I don't want to buy/download something that won't work on my laptop!
Sorry if that was really confusing. I can explain more details if anyone needs.
Here's the website that I was looking at in case anyone wants to check it out... (to walk me by each term and what not JK)
http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/production/tech-specs.edu.html
Please help!If you want to access to the hardware you have on your Mac, you have "System Information" or "System Profiler" app on your computer. This application is stored on /Applications/Utilities, and you can access here to see a complete report of all the hardware and all your apps.
Just open that app and compare your hardware with the requirements of that application. Note that a 64-bit processor is a Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Xeon, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 processor.
As you have posted this on the MacBook Pro forum, you must note that you need a 15 or a 17-inch MacBook Pro to run that application. If you have a 13-inch one, you can't run it because your MacBook Pro doesn't meet the graphic card requirement of that application -
Due to the installation process of oracle database 10g on oel5:
By default :Atleast 1 gp RAM is needed
i am having 1gp build in RAM and in that only 860MB is available but the oracle installation expected result is 922MB
what to do?
They Provide this with the warning message and not as error?
How to increase the RAM size?
IS there any Software available?
Otherwise physically i need to build it by buying a new RAM?
OR simply go with installation process? If so what the problems will arise?

How to increase the RAM size?Buy more. This is hardware and outside of the scope of the software world.
IS there any Software available??? Do you mean 'software to simulate adding more memory' ??
Otherwise physically i need to build it by buying a new RAM?Yes
OR simply go with installation process? If so what the problems will arise? You will be starving the Oracle processes. Which may be OK if you don't have much load. -
Applying more RAM specifically to Photoshop...?
I am working on an iMac G5 with 1gb of RAM. I am using photoshop and bridge to edit raw photos and the programs are running quite slow. Is there a way I can make more RAM be used specifically in photoshop and bridge? Help!
iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4)Go to your Utilities folder>Activity Monitor and have a look and see what is using up CPU and/or memory. If there is an application that seems to be using a large amount of memory, quit it and see what happens. For instance, keeping your browser open for a long time will slow your machine down appreciably. There amy be other things that you keep running all the time that you actually don't need and can close to free up more memory.
Let me know if you find anything,

Giving MacBook Hardware (RAM and HD) to a new iMac
Ok, so here is what i want to do:
I just got an 20 inch Imac 2.4Ghz, and i have a MacBook Black 2.0 Ghz (late 2006), i want to know if i can use the extra RAM i have in my macbook for the iMac, since the MacBook has two 1Gb modules, i want to give one of those to the iMac so it has 2Gb instead of two, i also got an HD 320gb in my macbook i want to know if i can put that one in the iMac instead the 250GB that comes with, and put the 250GB HD to the Macbook, i havent turned on the imac so i want to know if i put that new HD to my macbook when i turn it on it will start like a new mac with the initial confoguration, cause thats what i want it cause im gonna give the macbook to someone else.
Is all this possible or the RAM modules, and the HD are not compatible? and will the macbook be like a new computer? for example will it get the free me.com account trial?Dave Sawyer wrote:
The worst thing that is likely to happen is that it doesn't get past power-on self test.
Actually, the worst thing (at least in my mind) that could happen is that the system would boot but that it would be unreliable, something quite possible with below-spec RAM. It's not worth such a possibility in my opinion, not when a 1GB DIMM of the correct speed is under $20.00 US.
That's not going to happen if the serial presence detect EEPROM is programmed correctly and the memory controller properly reads that it's DDR2 667/PC2-5300. I've heard of some machines stopping after POST, but that's about it. If it's Apple OEM memory, I'd be surprised if it wasn't correct. Intel has memory controllers that properly check and have the flexibility to use slower memories.
If you look at the spec sheets for Intel motherboards (complete with CPU and memory controller) of this vintage, they claim support for either DDR2 667 or 800.
Like I said - I've gotten my MacBook (standard with DDR2 667 / PC2-5300) to run properly on DDR2 533 that came from another machine. It worked just fine and was displayed in System Profiler as "533 MHz". It's wasn't to save money or anything. I was just curious. -
DDR3 RAM specification for MSI Z77A-GD65
Hello MSIers ,
I am about to buy the MSI Z77A-GD65 or GD55 not sure yet ... I used Gigabyte boards for 10 years and they always state to use 1.5 volt RAM sticks ...
Now for MSI and the mention board , what voltage should I pick ? I want 2 sticks of 4GB DDR3 1600MHz and might look to faster frequencies like 2333 MHz ??? will it work with an I7 3770 right out the box (if I load XMP in BIOS) ? can lower latencies or CAS as well ?
ThanksQuote from: xmad on 07-November-12, 01:39:05
http://www.mushkin.com/Memory/Redline.aspx
Allot of the mushkin comes pre-under-timed (the xmp profile does anway) As that computer is an AMD platform, I need to match the xmp profile and adjust the fsb/ dram ratio to get the correct speed & timings. Both of those listed computers are quite stable.
The corsair memory I have listed has an xmp profile of 11-11-11-30, I manually under-timed that when I was tweaking. That is the lowest I could go and maintain stability.
One thing to keep in mind when you look at memory, is that almost all that you see out there is 1333 memory which has been tested and tuned (Overclocked) to w/er limit. Even ddr3-1600 you buy will by default run at 1333 as the 1600 is an XMP profile extension to the SPD. So no matter what you buy over 1333, you are most likely going to need to at minimum enable the xmp profile or at worst tinker with the speed & timings manually.
Nice .. Thank you ..
So what DDR3 freq. / timings you suggest for the best performance and stil very stable (as long as I (most likely) need to tinker a bit around the BIOS and XMP) ? I am gonna use the I7 3770 locked version CPU
You advice or against , maybe 2000 freq or more DDR3 with the Z77AGD65 ? or you advice with choosing a lower latency modules but at 1600 MHz freq like this http://www.mushkin.com/Memory/Redline/997056.aspx ? -
RAM not showing up in system properties
I have 3GB installed on my OLD Windows XP
I have noticed lately that when I checked my System Properties it only says 2GB.
But HWINFO32 shows 3GB
I ran memtest86 to see if my ram was failing but it passed.
Any ideas on why it only shows 2GB.
I have an Nvidia 9800 1024MB graphics card if for some reason that is subtracting from my total.
Thanks: GLennI have saved the DXDIAG file and uploaded it.
Does anyone think I should replace the CMOS battery ?
I have not had any problems with my time not working or it turning off and no warnings ?
Also, I have ordered 4 new 1GB Ram sticks so they are all the same speed.
My 2 512's are the slowest and the new ones will be faster then the 2 1GB ones I have there now.
I will pick up a can of air and clean out the unit too since its been over a year since I dusted it off.
Thanks: GLenn
I will paste the info below too.

GRC 10.0 SP14 - Poblems when generating rules for logical systems
Hello Experts!
We recently updated a DEV system to SP14 and we're having issues regarding the rule set generation. I'd like to know if you have faced a similar problem after installing SP14. The details are described below:
Create a test function ZTEST_F1
The action PFCG is associated to a Physical System (Test Connector SP14) and to a Logical System (Sistema Logico Retail)
The logical system contains D05 among other connectors:
And it’s defined as a logical group:
The connector “test connector Sp14” points to the same system as D05.
Now I create another function, let’s say ZTEST_F2
Now let’s define a SoD Risk ZTSTSP14
Generate rules and after that we check GRACSYSRULE table for such risk and we get:
Let’s add more transactions:
Generate rules:
Now in the table we get:
The logical system has been added to the GRACSYSRULE table for the new combination and also the physical system TST_D05, but there's no combinations for the system D05 for example.
Now if we run SoD analysis:
We have four combinations for the physical system TST_D05 but only two for D05 that belongs to the logical system:
Do you have any clue? have you faced a similar problem?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Diego.Hello Collen!
First of all I want to thank you because after aplying the note the rules generated fine and now the Risk Analysis is OK for the example described above:
I've also tested with a huge number of risks and made a comparison between the results of the Physical conector and the Connector that belongs to a logical group and I got the same results as action level as well as Permission Level as expected.
Regarding the note itself, we usually check for notes and we have implemented many notes in advance related to rule generation issues.
The point is that, as my point of view is just not acceptable to get a new SP with this kind of issue. Rule generation is a core functionality and SAP must test such functionalities before releasing a SP and these checks cannot rely on the customer. For me, rule generation issues in GRC are just unnaceptable. I can accept issues with other modules or new functionalities, but with role generation they must guarantee that it works properly and perform the requiered tests before releasing an SP.
Well... bottom line the issue has been resolved and I really appreciate the help you provided!!!!
Many Thanks!!!

Job-scheduling on a specific instance on source system
Hello All,
Is there any possibility to schedule an infopackage in BW and tell the job that the corresponding job on source system (e.g. R/3-system) should run on a specific instance?
Thanks,
PavanHi,
I guess the job is related to extraction job in R/3 that relates to the BI load..
Here if this job runs on a particaular RFC user always , depending on the user u can resrtict the instance on which it is supposed to run...
Take the help from BASIS they can fix the issue....

Specific rights on source-system connection?
Hi all,
we are up to connect our Solution Manager BW system to our "standard" BW system.
But due to security reasons, we only want to allow access to specific datasources from the SolMan BW system.
We tried to set up the rights for the BATCH/background-Users accordingly, but couldn't succeed in setting a specific restriction e.g. for replication of datasources or even data-load.
What we could see is that we can either restrict access in full or allow it in full...
So that's exactly the question: is there any way we can set specific rights on replication, activaction and dataload from the source-system?
Best regards,
