GRC Languages

Hi All,
I have notice that during the activation of the BC sets, there are 6 langauges (English, German, Portuguese, Japanese, French, Spanish) available in the table content of a transport.
I've installed and activated the BC sets in 3 backend systems, which does prompt me for a transport request during activation. This was done successfully but upon check the transport contents, I found out that 2 of the systems transport contains all 6 languages with the last system having only 1 language (English).
As I will be using the transport function for the activation of the BC sets acorss my system landscape, I would like to know what is the impact of having just one language (English) and not having the rest of the languages. Also does GRC AC really use all 6 languages or English is sufficient to get GRC AC (meaning FF, CC and AE) running.
I would appreciated if someone can provide me with the info as soon as possible.
Thanks.
Raymond

Hi Raymond,
I think if your Company only uses English as language for SAP GRC, then its fine otherwise you may have to redo it again.
I think English would be sufficient as a language for all SAP GRC applications unless, your company is globally setup and if SAP GRC CUP approvals and requests in the Security Workflow, SAP GRC RAR rule set texts will be used by multiple people across locations.

Kiran Kandepalli.

  • GRC 10.0 Notifications in Multiple Languages

    Hello GRC Gurus,
In my Organization, We have a requirement to support French Language due to legal requirements in the Quebec provinvce. This means that all notifications to users in the Quebec province will have to be delivered in French.
I have researched this in as far as:
French Language has to be implemented as a prerequisite in SMLT
The standard notification templates will be available in French language once the language pack is installed
The issue i have here is:
can the notifications be sent to different sets of users in different languages? I see that that one message class can only be associated with one document object. Is there a way to get around this to define who will get the notification in French and who will get it in English probaly based on USER GROUP or DEFAULT LANGUAGE
Ofcourse, the message documents can be modified to present it in both English and French to make it easier but in future if there are legal requirement in others countries it does not make sense to keep adding the message body in all the required languages
    Can you please help?
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
I was looking into a similar requirement and came to the early conclusion that GRC is not smart enough to handle multi language notifications.
The reason why I say this is that whilst you can create multiple documents in SE61 in different languages, it looks like you can only create a single message class that gets aligned into MSMP, i.e no choice of multiple languages there.
What I am unsure about (as I have never bothered to investigate it) is the "message number" column in the "Variables & Templates" section of MSMP. I am unsure if you can send a number of messages for the same template and message class.
Also, I am unsure how GRC checks the user's logged in language and selects the document template.
Have you considered having the content of the email contain dual languages? i.e. first paragraph in English, second in French etc?

  • GRC: Maintenance of multiple languages

    Hello Experts,
I have maintained multiple languages in my GRC system in the 'Maintain Supported Languages' setting. But, these act as additional language in case the logon language is not available.
Is there any way to have multiple languages working simultaneously on the same GRC client.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Himanshu

Hi Maheswaran, thanks for the quick reply
I've few quarries here regarding your quote on creating single operation for each equipment.
My task list consists of say 6 operations,
    Operation #
    Description
    10
    power off
    20
    check  power connections
    30
    replace  seal
    40
    check impeller
    50
    check coupling
    60
    Lubricate the bearing
these need to be performed onto a pump maintenance with a strategy of 1M,3M & 12M (defined under maintenance package selection into task list).e.g. 10,20,30 (under 1M), 20,40,50,60 (Under 3M) and 20,60 (under 12M)
In this case, how's it possible to define one operation for one equipment (as stated in below quote)
Seeking for your expert comment ..
    Thanks ..

  • Error while creating new connector in GRC CUP 5.3

    Hi,
I am  trying to create a new SAP Connector in CUP 5.3, when i fill in all the fields in the new connection and select  "Test Connection" it says Connection successful and when i save it and look at the Available connectors, i am unable to see my new connector there.
Does anyone know why is this happening.
    a quick response is appriciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Chetan,
I have the same issue when configuring connectors in CUP. I solved it in this way:
1- Go to RAR(Risk, Analysis and Remediation) --> Configuration --> Connector --> Search
2- Select one of the connectors and write down the values in the list box of the field JCO Destination.
3 - Now, go to CUP, and create the connector using the names writed down in step 2.
CUP will warn you with an error, ignore it,  and then save the connector.
Note: when creating the connector in CUP, fill the fields, then save/create(here you will have the error msg), then Test Connection, and then save again.
    That works for me!!!
PD: Always log in to GRC with the same language configured in CUP.
    Hope this works for you!!!

  • GRC 10 - SSO via Portal - how to redirect url in notification variables

    Dears,
I am in the process of designing our GRC 10 machine to be accessed via SSO in the Enterprise Portal. Yet I cannot find any info on what will happen with the URLs that are placed by ARM MSMP workflow in the variables of notifications/approvals.
I typically would (as in 5.3) expect a redirect URL to be made available as an option.
As an example: the Firefighter Log notification standard holds a variable pointing the URL to :
    http://GRC10server:GRC10port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/grac_ui_spm_log_email?sap-client=001&sap-language=EN&WF_ID=53FB8FEAC9E260D6E10000000AF90C44&APP_TYPE=1
Yet now with SSO via the portal we also want this URL to go via the portal instead of directly to the GRC machine. How can we achieve that?
Is there a configuration way to have GRC10server:GRC10port adjusted to the portal address..
(mind that the WF_ID segment in this url is dynamically generated, so directly sqeezing in a static portal url is not an option)
    Cheers,
    Jim

    Hi Neeraj,
Thx for your reaction. This unfortunately will not do the job as pasting the URL in the notification template will make it static. The problem is that the URL inserted by default is a dynamically created one which holds a variable pointer to a workflow object id.
Now i am researching if a custom build portal redirect application will do the job. But there must be others having the same problem if you want the GRC iview in the portal to be the 'one-stop-shop' for your GRC users...
    Cheers,
    Jim

  • .CSV file for Master data upload in GRC PC

    Hi all,
We want to upload some Master Data for GRC Process Controls 3.0. Since we do not have access to MDUG tool yet, and we have a demo planned soon, we decided to go with the approach of uploading some data using the program GRPCB_UPLOAD.
So I uploaded a .csv file with the following structure and was able to create master data. But, the object name was not updated.
    Structure
    Object Type
    Object ID
    Infotype
    Sub-type
    Start
    End
    Object abbreviation
    Object Name
    Language
In addition, for some objects, we'd like to update the other attributes with data too.
Would anyone have the .csv format for such a detailed upload for Process / Sub process / Control?
    Regards,
    Preksha

    Hi all,
First of all, thanks in advance, but I´ve  tried to upload a template similar to Preksha´s template but when I uploaded it through GRPCB_UPLOAD program it doesn´t work properly, because when I execute the background process, I´ll check its status and then it is cancelled .
In addition, I follow the recomendations from the pdf called "Process Control Upload Master Data v1" released by RIG in June 2008, but in contrast I can´t upload the structure correctly.
Do you have any idea? Or could you give me an idea which explains how to create a correct template? Do you have any clue of what I would have done wrong?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards.

I checked to see the RFC ID passes the authorization test and connection test and the logical systems are populated in BD54, can anyone please tell what I'm missing here and why i'm facing this error message?

    Hello Reddy
Kindly assign  the role SAP_GRAC_ALL  to the RFC user .  This user can also be

  • SAP GRC Process Control - General Questions

    Hi all,
We have the following general questions regarding SAP GRC Process Control:
    1) Assume that we have set up 5 different SAP Connectors in Process Control. When you configured a specific rule and control and then, schedule the job for such control, how does the system (SAP Process Control) knows which back-end system needs to be accesed for such control?
    2) In which language are the out-of-the box rule steps's script coded? In which different languages can those scripts be coded, what is to say, in which language can we code our own scripts?
    3) How is the detailed flow between SAP Process Control and SAP Back-end system?
    Many thanks. Regards,

  • Migarting from Approva to SAP GRC AC 5.3

    Hello All,
One of our client using Approva applications now they are planning to move to SAP GRC Access Controls 5.3, so kindly help me or guide he how I proceed.
    Key doubts u2013
1-How we upload rules in RAR, because we downloaded the rules from Approva.
    2-Creation of mitigation controls etc.
It would be great if some share some documents related to above.
    Thanks,
    Jagat

    Hi Jagat,
Once your GRC system is configured. You have to follow the following steps:
    1. Create system connector
    2. Define Master User Source
    3. Upload text & authorization objects. (Follow the AC53 Configuration guide to download these files from backend)
    4. Now as Frank has suggested you have to convert the downloaded Apporava files to .txt files. There are 9 .txt files you have to create:
    1. Business Process
BusinessProcessId (CHAR 4)     LANGUAGE  (CHAR 2)     DESCRIPTION LANGUAGE  (CHAR 120)
    *fileds are TAB seperated
    2. Function
FUNCTION ID (CHAR 8)     LANGUAGE  (CHAR 2)     DESCRIPTION LANGUAGE  (CHAR 120)     FUNCTION SCOPE (CHAR 1 (S:Single System, C: Cross System))
    3. Function-Business Process
FUNCTION ID (CHAR 8)     BusinessProcessId (CHAR 4)
    4. Function-Action
    FUNCTION ID (CHAR 8)    TRANSACTION(CHAR 20)     STATUS (NUMC 1 (0 or 1))
    5. Function-Permission
    FUNCTION ID (CHAR 8)     T-CODE (CHAR 20)     OBJECT(CHAR 10)     FIELD(CHAR 10)     FROM VALUE(CHAR 40)     TO VALUE(CHAR 40)     SEARCH TYPE(CHAR3 (AND,OR,NOT))       STATUS (NUMC 1 (0 or 1))
    6. Rule Set
RuleSetId (CHAR 8)     LANGUAGE  (CHAR 2)     DESCRIPTION (CHAR 132)
    7. Risk ID
    RISKID (CHAR 4)     FUNCTION_1_ID  (CHAR 8)     FUNCTION_2_ID  (CHAR 8)     FUNCTION_3_ID  (CHAR 8)     FUNCTION_4_ID  (CHAR 8)     FUNCTION_5_ID  (CHAR 8)     BusinessProcessId (CHAR 4)       PRIORITYDESCRIPTION (NUMC 1 (0=Medium
    1=High 2=Low 3=Critical))      STATUS (NUMC 1 (0 or 1))        RISKTYPE (CHAR 1 (1=SoD 2=Critical Action 3=Critical Permission))
    8. Risk Description
RISKID (CHAR 4)       LANGUAGE  (CHAR 2)     RISKDESCRIPTION (CHAR 132)     DETAILDESCRIPTION (CHAR 1000)     CONTROLOBJECTIVE (CHAR 1000)
    9. RISK_RULESET
RISKID (CHAR 4)       RuleSetId (CHAR 8)
For more information on templates follow the configuration guide.
Upload these files and generate the rules.
Hope with this you will be able to continue.

  • ERM Role Export with multiple languages

    Hi All,
I have an issues where role download program /VIRSA/RE_DNLDROLES exports the roles with all text languages included (if the role was maintained in multiple languages).
Then when I mass import the roles into ERM (AC 5.3 SP10), the upload program gives an "unknown error." After several hours of testing I figured out that that eliminating all but one of the multiple role language texts in main role file will allow the roles to be uploaded sucessfully.
It seems that the function module /VIRSA/RE_BAPI_DOWNLOAD_ROLES should be changed to include a language parameter.
    Anybody ever have this problem?
    Thanks, Dylan

    Hi All,
I found a workaround for this issue, I'm posting it for posterity then will close this post within a couple of days. I would appreciate to know if anyone has run into this issue too, it can't just be me?!
First, the download of the main role text file from /VIRSA/RE_DNLDROLES stores the file as ANSI text type. At least that is how my Windows PC opens it. IF the role was maintained in mulitple languages with special language characters like ü, ô, ê, é, è, à, ò, ä, ö, then GRC AC 5.3 SP10 ERM gives me an "unknown error" when trying to do the mass import. To fix this issue, simply save the file as text type "UTF-8" or anything but ANSI. The ANSI seems to work fine for plain english.
Second, roles with multiple language versions get all the languages squished together in the long description. I had one role with a Japanese, English, German, French and Italian long description BUT each maintained in it's own language. During the upload, all were imported into ERM and grouped together in one ugly text.
I fixed this (although not ideally) by modifying Function Module /VIRSA/RE_BAPI_DOWNLOAD_ROLES used during the download:
The code change is as follows:
        SELECT * FROM AGR_TEXTS APPENDING TABLE i_agR_TEXTS WHERE AGR_NAME
                                                            "#EC CI_GENBUFF
    *{   REPLACE        SIDKxxx
          in r_agr_name.
           in r_agr_name
and spras eq 'E'.   "download only English
    *}   REPLACE
Then, the 1000+ roles uploaded successfully without issues.
I realized after that OSS Note 1260773 covers explains this similarly.

  • FF logs  problem -- No detail description when languages are different

    Hello Gurus ,
we have a problem when creating the logs in FF tool . There are users that are logging in FF in English language and users that logon with German . When generating the logs i have to logon in the 2 languages to see all the details. If logon in German i dont see the detailed logs from the persons that used FF in English.
We have FF 5.2 with SP04 . Is there any suggestion ? or do i have to wait until we update to GRC 5.3 ?
    Regards,
    David

I would suggest that you upgrade AC 5.2 to the latest Service Pack to see if that resolves your problem
AC 5.2 SP10 is the latest version
RTA NH SP 11 is the latest version
RTA HR SP9 is teh latest version
If these upgrades do not resolve your issues then raise an OSS note to resolve your issue
