Great job! New panel Swatches in Captivate 7

I waited for this so long time!!! Today I have instaled new update Captivate 7, Win7. Now we have new panel Swatches, so finally I can save my colors into swatch and save it as ASE file - exchange format for color swatches. Great job Adobe CP team! It need in the future some more enhacements, but for this time I am happy, it is here!
I tried import to Captivate 7 my swatch.ase from Illustrator CC and it works fine. But after exporting another swatch from Captivate 7 as ASE and import it to Illustrator CC or Photoshop CC, it show error dialog. Hope, will be fixed.
Somebody know, what other new capabilities contain this update?

Illustrator CS4 New Color Swatches Keep Shifting Values

Hi. I really need some help. I created 8 major panel designs for my first-ever tee shirts. For this project, I added up to 70+ colors to my existing standard CMYK swatch library, by naming them and marking them for global. Just to be on the safe side, I also made up my own directory in a separate document by making squares with their names next to them. I transferred these to each new document I created. I did all of this in Illustrator 10.
I finally got to upgrade several months ago to the Design Suite CS4 - Hooray! No problem in converting my files. I am having my tees printed in the direct-digital-to-fabric method. My printer said that I could change all my CMYK colors to RGB for a more vibrant rendering. And so I went in to each of my colors and manually changed them to RGB. I also changed my document format to RGB.
Several weeks ago, my eye registered that my favorite red didn't seem as red any more. And so it wasn't! I checked my swatch, and it was way off my original settings. So I changed them. The change didn't keep. It turns out that almost all of my colors were off their original CMYK settings!
So I started over again, by taking each color, and in most cases, making up a new color swatch with a slightly revised name. I made sure the colors reflected accurately both the CMYK and the RGB percentages. I DID NOT want to select as a spot color. Therefore, I kept the "Process" format, but selected RGB. I also deleted the old color swatch.
But the problem was still there -- within a span of several minutes, my "Red" changed both in the CMYK and RGB percentages, I checked 15 other colors I had just created, and their percentages were off also.
Needless to say, it is very important to me that my colors hold their value.

Pick (almost) any colour in a document with CMYK Color Mode, copy into a document with RGB Color Mode, and see a change.
In other words: if you want to keep the colours, keep the colour mode; if you want to change the colour mode, recreate the colours, and expect some differences.
My printer said that I could change all my CMYK colors to RGB for a more vibrant rendering.
Maybe your printer needs a vibrant rendering, with a boot.
If the meaning was that the RGB colour gamut is larger, and therefore capable of more, and more vibrant, colours, which is true, that is what should have been said. It would imply creating new, fresh colours.

HOW can I change Indesign's default 'New color Swatch'?

It always comes up as 100C, 100M, 100Y, 100B and I usually have to drag all the sliders down to zero. BLACK in particular is the one that bugs me because a new color swatch is NEVER going to have 100% black unless you want a black swatch - you get a black swatch with every document whether you want it or not so what's the point?

You new swatch will start with whatever the definition is of the currently highlighted swatch in the panel.

When I open the Mask panel, it takes up the entire screen width and the Looks controls disappear, Also, there is a new panel below the Mask panel that seems to have no purpose that I can find. WIth the masking and grading tools placed side-by-side, you can now work faster on the mask workflow." Is there a way to move, hide, or otherwise manipulate the panels for a custom layout? All the examples I can find on the Web show the Looks panel to the left of the Mask panel where the controls are available.

Ok, here is what I have so far. Appdelete the iWork and reinstalled. Pages and Number work, but not Keynote.
Now, I downloaded a couple apps that I need, and no matter what I did, the spinning ball came up and the download stopped till it unlocked itself. It is really frustrating because the download was not completed and whatever came through would not mount. Could this issue be the internet connection? Permission fix showed a lot of Airport issues. I will try to run permissions fix again.

Can I add more than one horizontal separator to the PanelUI (the new panel menu)

Steps:
1. Click the new panel menu button (hamburger)
2. Click Customize
3. On the left, drag "Separator (for panel menu)" from "Additional Tools and Features" to the panel on the right. A horizontal separator appears. "Separator (for panel menu)" no longer appears in the "Additional Tools and Features".
I can add many "Separator" (vertical separator) to toolbars, but it appears I can only add one "Separator (for panel menu)" (horizontal separator) to the panel.
I would like to add additional horizontal separators to the panel. Is there a way to do that?

Yes, I do have Classic Theme Restorer installed (I love it!), but missed these customization nuances. After reading more threads, searching, and reviewing prefs.js, I saw the ctraddon_puib_separator.
A while back, I had problems with vertical separators, specifically with AIOS, and had also looked for horizontal separators. The solution at that time was customizableui-special-separator{d}, where d was a unique digit.
I always found the customization menu to be difficult to use, especially if a buttons addon was installed, mainly because it was unordered. I recently installed Sort and Search Customization Dialog and it has made a world of difference.
I just started changing my FF ways and using the new menu. I wanted to divide up the menu into sections or activities. On top I'd have a row of user tools like history, bookmarks, then a divider and have a row of customization tools, another divider and development tools. The divider which provides the visual separation and grouping is really nice. I hope FF adopts them. How do I add a new panel to the accordion widget in-between two others (NOT at the end)

In the accordion widget, the + button at the bottom adds a new panel to the end. I have a series of panels that are in alpha-sort and need to add a new panel in the middle... I can't figure out how to do it without re-doing the whole thing. is there a way to do this?

Help me pick a new panel

Hello All,
I'm in the market for a new panel to go with my Openbox setup. Right now I'm using XFCE4-panel, mostly because it required no configuration and I was busy configuring Openbox, conky, the Arch install at the time. Plus, out of the DE's, I like XFCE the best.
Truthfully, xfce4-panel has served me very well and I don't really have any problem with it at all... I just want to fiddle.
There are three important things I "need" from a panel:
1. A Volume control
2. Desktop preview/pager/switcher thing
3. This one is really trivial and vain. I need the taskbar to not be filled when I only have one or two windows open. For some reason, this really bugs me. The default fluxbox taskbar does that and I hate it. It also looks like PyPanel does it. So, I need a panel that can at least be told to not behave this way.
I do want to try something new, so don't tell me to just stick with what I have, please. If a panel is super-cool, but only meets 2 out of 3 of my requirements, list it anyway.
Make sure to tell me why a particular panel is good!

Ever tried living without a panel ?
I've only used pypanel for a short while before ditching it and running openbox without a panel, so I can't speak from much experience about panels here.
Anyway, you might want to try tint, fbpanel or lxpanel....can't think of anything else off the top of my head now. Just do a pacman -Ss "panel"

Creating a new pattern swatch

I'm working on a script that should, among other things, create a new pattern swatch from a groupItem in the document.
I managed to create the new pattern swatch and name it using:
myNewPatternSwatch = app.activeDocument.patterns.add();
myNewPatternSwatch.name = <the_swatch_name>;
The only thing I can't figure out is how to get my groupItem into the new pattern swatch.
Any idea?

I don't think you can… Sorry it's not very helpful… Patterns were the sure way to crash a script too although I have not tried in CS5…

[SOLVED]T61 new panel: have to change EDID

I have a very special problem here and i hope, someone could help me fixing it ;-)
My Laptops (Lenovo T61 14.1'' SXGA 1400x1050 Intel IGP) Panel broke and i ordered a new one, same modelnumber.
I installed it, but the screen stays black, is just somehow "lit" but nothing to be seen.
Ok, so i changed the inverter too, still no luck.

For Win-users there is Powerstrip, but you have to pay a lot and pm to author for unlocking the writing abillity…
But it should be possible to change these values.
How do i do this?

Replacing existing panel with a new panel.

I don't use swing much and I have ran into a small problem.
What is the standard procedure for replacing a jpanel on a
jframe with another jpanel in the exact same position?
Say you had a form on the first panel, when the user clicks
next it display a new panel with a confirmation of the results
and disposes of the old one.
I have tried add,remove, setcontenpane. setvisible etc but nothing
works. Can someone explain?

IE 7 freezes on selecting new panel in Accordion

Dar! Our rather complicated homepage at http://ebling.library.wisc.edu has developed a bug that affects IE 7 users only. Our Spry Accordion on the left of the page used to work fine but now freezes up the browser when you select any panel other than the default one.
Only changes to the code recently involve an attempt to use this ContentFlow viewer to display our new book acquisitions. After repeatedly trying to get it to work in IE 6 we decided it wasn't worth the effort and put in some IE conditional code to only display it for IE7 or later. That seemed to work find but just got a report this morning (confirmed on my end) that the Spry Accordion breaks IE 7 now. Page loads fine but freezes on clicking the accordion to open a new panel.
Any ideas? Conditional code + IE 7 + Spry? Or even just IE 7 + Spry? Any help appreciated. Works fine in Firefox, Safari and IE 8...

Have tried to remove *or disable* your contentFlow script to see if that helps causes a error?
