Great New Flash MP3 players from Creative coming so

When will we see mp3 players from Creative that utilize X FI?

"I guess a new firmware comes out only when there are sufficient complains, demands or a major problem with the current firmware. "
Yea, looks like that, but in dooing it this way they are on defence. Defence gives few happy customers because they have to ask and ask agein. When it comes the customer take the credit for it and Creative are just sitting with the blame.
If they on the other side try to figure out what is popular in the current situation, try to give their customer this, they are on "attac" situation.
This way customer will praise "the company" and feel that it takes care of it's assets. A big customer base with happy customers (never all, can never be managed) is a great asset to any firm and specialy if you like Creative want to make many diffrent models of the same product, because it's her you find the customers that always are on look for the newest and most popular thing and that is what these customer make an item, or destroy it.

  • We demand Audible support for Zen Touch (and all new MP3 players from Creativ

    I am flabbergasted!
A BIG company like Creative working with a Firmware for secure "music" files for 2 month and then don't deli'ver "audible" ready files at the same time?
(if Creative don't know, Audible books are almost a must on a MP3 player now a day and if not supported the player is absolete)
It is said in another thread that Creative don't have any income from making firmware and therfore we can't expect them to do so.
    What a missunderstanding!!!
Firmware is one of the most lucrati've tools Creative have, and if not done, one for the most damaging tools they have for future sales.
Let say they put out a couple of firmware upgrade each year. Listen to the customer and try to give them what they want or make sure that the player work like it is supposed too.
Well in dooing this they have a big global customer base praising Creatives name to friends and relati'ves, and it's most likely that Creative's products will be on their next shopping list.
Do it the "Creative" way...let it go 2 month...let your customer have as little as possible and tell me that this is the way to go.
I tell you:::: the same customer base tells friends and relati'ves that this company are " not customer friendly" they might have some good product, but don't expect to much if it don't work. Creative products will almost ceartain not stand on my next shopping list!
Who will now say that developing firmware don't pay off? You have to use millons in ads just to try to repair some of the damages done by lacking of support.
Some of you have made critic to moderators and Crati've employees. Thats wrong!
The only one to blame is Creative management, if they don't know how customer relation work, then they make take a course!
Remember time with "free" entrance to every new PC is gone, now you have to start fighting for your customers.
    Have a nice day

  • Flash MP3 players...

Flash mp3 players are becoming more and more popular on the
    web. Anyone know
of a hub for these things? I mean a site that lists the most
    popular ones,
    their individual features, etc.
I'm looking for a free one that will simply play an mp3 on a
    server with the
usual controls. Bonus points if it can mask the source mp3
    file location.
PS: With css/ajax being as advanced as it's become, has
    anyone come up with
    a non-flash MP3 player that does the same thing? I wouldn't
    be surprised if
    someone did..!

Mashable is designed for myspace users & appears to use
    code located on
their site. If that doesn't suit your needs, here a few
    others - some free,
    some not.
Single Flash MP3 players that use playlists.

  • New flash mp3 player using AA or AAA batte

How about it Creative? I don't like the idea of connecting the player to the pc or to a wall charger to charge it. I like the idea of being able to easily change to a new battery when the one in the player runs out of power. It would also be nice to have both AM and FM radio in the player, to have a better microphone than in the Nano Plus, and to have the ability to record in mp3 with a user selectable bit rate.

I was going to buy a Zen Stone until I found out that it doesn't have an AA or AAA battery. I prefer not to buy .mp3 players that don't have user replaceable batteries.
An AA .mp3 player would be great- slightly thicker, but <i>much</i> longer battery life.
There's a point in miniaturization that goes too far into 'style' and away from simple ergonomics.
Human eyes aren't getting more powerful and fingers aren't getting smaller, so many new devices have become too tiny to use easily.

  • Pretty Lousy MP3 players from creat

    hey ppl,
    i bought a Muvo v200 in september, the dealer says it's such a great player that they'd give u 2 years' warranty...cool.
Now, it's December, and the MP3 player? Almost DEAD... wonderful product this Creative brand, it's gonna be my first and last from Creative......
    what's the problem?
    ok,
. The LCD screen is half-blurred,
    2. I can't use the Equalizer, somehow it just blanks out when i enter it.
    3. I can't even scroll through some songs, they just won't come out on the bloody screen
SO, wonderful, RM300 gone, when i coulda bought the same specs for RM50, even an un-branded player my sister bought was better and still kicking after 2 years.
    Bah Humbug Creative !

As mentioned earlier this is a prettyy sweeping statement. There are thousands of satisfied Creative MP3 player owners but as is usually the case, 99.9% of people that have a working player will never visit the forums!
As for your player, it does sound like there was a problem with it, but just make use of your warranty - at the end of the day sometimes in electronics you get a dud device or two - this is not unique to creative but creative players may be more liable to it because they are more advanced than your average cheapo MP3 player - there is more to go wrong. But I bought a TV from sony (another reputatble brand) and it broke after 6 months, but that doesnt mean i wrote them off - infact i used my warranty and got an identical replacement because as Creative MP3 players have the best sound quality, sony have the best image quality.
If you got a replacement and that also failed, maybe it is understandable you wouldnt wish to get another of the same but to write off an entire company over one problem seems a little over the top to me

  • Creative needs a 64 gb flash mp3 players soon or the competition is going to

I just notice that the other competitor (you know who...)is mentioning that they are going to go more into flash players and they can afford (with all the money they make)to go up on memory. Don't be surprised they start pumping out 64 gb or higher just to get at Creative. Creative needs to start making higher memory flash players if they are going to keep up. Maybe even get some deals going for cheaper prices on the memory.

With the continually falling prices on flash, it is only inevitable that 64GB players will be on the market at some point in the near future. Using flash memory is a win-win situation; it has the potential of enabling manufacturers to market a product with a better profit margin and for consumers, there is a reduced potential for damage for those who are not aware of how they should protect a portable disk dri've based device. As for Apple getting at Creative, they don't have to, Creative has lost enough market share in this market sector to become an insignificant player. Apple's closest competitors now are Sandisk and Microsoft with minimal market shares. Apple's domination in the MP3 player market can be compared to the domination that Creative enjoys in the add-in sound card market; both companies literally own those respecti've markets.

  • Brand spanking new to MP3 and my Creative Zen To

Hi Folks Hope you can help with this one. My mate has gone off travelling the world, and upgraded his MP3 player, and gave me his Creative Zen Touch 20gb player. He gave me all the leads, but no instruction book or driver CD. However, when I connected it to my PC running XP, it couldn't see it at all, and on my wife's laptop running Vista it could see it, but wanted the installation CD, and wouldn't communicate from the web-page with it. Do I need the installation CD, or am I being a total numpty with it, and missing something extremely easy ? Answers in the form of less than one syllable would be great !! Thanks for looking in

CHARGE THE BATTERY FULLY BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING? ELSE. And you were concerned you might not get it Ok I really don't like instructing people on firmware updates since alot of people have trouble doing them unless they really know what to do if it goes awry. So if you feel confident about doing this go back to the page where you found the driver & download the Plays For Sure Firmware? ver. 2..0? to your desktop. READ THE DETAILS FOR THAT FIRST . Truth is good thing you never had any creative software on your computer before trust me that's a Huge plus. It won't be interfering with the update since you don't have any on there. Don't even try to backup any music that may be on the player since you don't have any creative software other than the driver. Remember READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST >BEFORE YOU TRY TO UPDATE FIRMWARE? Good Luck Let Me know how it goes. BTW where on the planet are you? I'm in So. California. During the upgrade windows autoplay will most likely open ? IGNORE IT DON'T CLOSE IT OUT.

  • Removing Mp3 Players from my

    Hello,
I tried to find any topics about this, but couldn't find any. I was simply wondering if there is anything you have to do before removing the USB from a Creative Zen Touch 20GB? I know that with Ipods, you have to "officially" disconnect it, but I can't find any such option with my Creative one. Am I ok just removing it's
    Thanks very much!

With the Touch it's OK to disconnect at any point as long as the arrows on the screen of the player are not highlighted. Might be an idea to close programmes that access it - Mediasource etc - first, to avoid the possibility of crashing your computer.

  • Creative MP3 Players (Especially ZEN Touch 2) durability: satisfied?

    Hello,
I'm willing to buy a ZEN Touch 2, it look so amazing!
However, what I would like to know more: durability!
Is the ZEN Touch 2 (Or any other MP3 Player from Creative) durable enough?
I'll still have the year warrantee, but I'll need to ship it in the US, it'll need to be shipped at another adress in the US, and then shipped back to me (I'm in Canada).
That'll be a though job, you know.
My first MP3 , an Archos .5 Vision, died on me when it ran out of batteries for the first time; strangely, I reloaded it, and it had trouble booting.
My second and actual MP3, Archos 2 Vision, has brokens contacts in the headphone jack... -___-
Well, it still work, but it's really annoying.
If you are a ZEN Touch 2 owner, please give me your feedback!
    Thanks you very much!

Hi Gamex I have a Zen Touch 2 with GPS in the UK. In the first 3 weeks, it froze 3 or 4 times, and then finally died when downloading the Creative update to Android 2.2. You need to be aware that Creative Tech Support seem not to have yet caught up with the fact that they have a new type of MP3 player, and all the Knowledgebase articles they will refer you to are not relevant, as they deal with the older hard dri've type of player. It took me all but a fortnight of shouting to get them to authorise its return for repair/replacement, which is where it is currently. In addition, if you're going for the GPS model, advertised as 8GB, be aware it's capacity for music etc is a mere 4.gb, and any apps you download will eat into that. The way round this is to buy a big micro SDHC card (I got a 32gb one) which integrates seamlessly into the player. You can opt to put the apps on there if you so wish. That's the bad bit; the good bit is that it looks and feels great, and the touchscreen, while not as responsi've as some, is more than acceptable, to me at least. The sound quality is not as good as some other Creative players, mainly due to the fairly low spec earbuds supplied. Get some good ones, and the sound is fine, although strangely there is no equalizer facility. The FM radio, with RDS, gives quite astonishing reception on the move. You can import playlists from Media Player, but there is no option for crossfading, so you get a fairly significant gap between tracks. There are a fair selection of apps available, including an antivirus one (I see you were asking elsewhere about that) but you cannot access Android market; apps are downloaded from the Ziio website. Battery life is obviously dependant on what you are doing; wifi and GPS use will inevitably eat power before your very eyes. Using it for music was giving me around hours (less than claimed). Video playback (which is also very good) brings that down to around 4 hours. Overall I would say I was a little dissapointed with it, but that said having been without it now for nearly 3 weeks I realise how much I want it back, so it can't be all bad! Hope this helps? Regards Mike F

  • Date of "Battery Birth" of Creative Zen Flash MP3 playe

Date of Battery Birth of Creative Zen Flash MP3 players.
Your Zen Lithium_Ion Polymer Battery lifespan is ~ 2-3 years OR the number of discharges/charges cycles -
approximately ~ 300-500 cycles max. Whichever comes first will degrade the charging capacity of the
Lithium-Ion Polymer Battery. Keep in mind, the Lithium-Ion life span begins "aging" from the time of
    manufacturing of the battery!
Translation: If you bought a Creative Zen from Walmart,Target, Circuit City or Radio Shack, your battery
lifespan begins when the battery was manufactured by SK Mobile Energy (You don't know the manufacturing
date). If it was on the Walmart shelf for 2 years (You don't know this) Then, by the time you bought the Zen MP3
player your battery "shelf life" and battery charging capacity is gone!?
It would be very "consumer friendly" if Creative would show on the LCD display under the system/information
screen the EXACT birth/manufacture date of the Lithium-Ion battery and the number of discharges/charges
(300-500 max?) the battery has been through. After all, Creative manufactures the Zen and solders
in the "non-user replaceable battery" and they know the exact date of when the battery was manufactured. By
doing this, this would prevent "shady vendors" or third parties from "pulling the wool" over unsuspecting
consumers eyes. A firmware change would be in order.
Also, they should put a 0-00% battery capacity in numerical numbers near the battery symbol.
Keep in mind, the battery discharge rate and battery symbol is non-linear.
If Creative doesn't want to do this firmware change maybe they should do the following:
Have just only a Lithium-Ion Polymer battery warranty (not just the player warranty)? to protect the end users from too long shelf life of a battery.
    Ref. Links
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_ion_battery
    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_th...ithium_battery
A unique drawback of the Li-ion battery is that its life span is dependent upon aging from time of
manufacturing (shelf life) regardless of whether it was charged, and not just on the number of
charge/discharge cycles. So an older battery will not last as long as a new battery due solely to its age, unlike
other batteries. This drawback is not widely published.[3]
    DRM? DVD Copy? Music Copying.

I don't know the internal workings of the Zen Lithium-ion charging circuit but you should be able to use your
Zen player just like a laptop plugged into the wall.
Once the charging circuit sees a certain charge voltage on the battery it should shut down or go to a float mode.
    (added this)?
Allow the battery to completely discharge from time-to-time then recharge it fully.
    From the link:
    http://www.omnica.com/omniview_electronics2.htm
Regarding lithium-ion shelf life, one of our engineers recently met with a battery-house representati've. It has come to their attention that repeated charging and re-charging of a less than fully discharged Li-ion cell affects the battery "gas gauge" included with many devices. Over a number of cycles there is a resultant loss in accuracy. Frequently, the indicated remaining charge has little relationship to the actual amount of life left in the cell! Fortunately, according to the battery expert, the gauge will reset itself if the battery is allowed to completely discharge from time-to-time.

  • Should I upgrade to Flash Builder from Creative Cloud ?

I'm using Flash Builder Standard 4.6 and Extension Builder 2.
Have just signed for Creative Cloud and need to know if installing the Flash Builder Premium from Creative Cloud will be a smooth process and I can continue working on my extensions without pulling out my hair
I believe the version in CC is 4.7 instead of 4.6, in this case what should I be aware of ?
    Thanks

Thanks for your answer, it seems it's still problematic and without design view .
Will stay with the old version.

  • New MP3-players, when?

A couple of weeks ago I read something about new MSI mp3-players that were shown at CeBIT 2004. But I can't find anywhere when these new players will be released. The Mega Player 515 seems to be realesed now, but I'm particularly interested in the MS-5561 model. Can somebody tell me more about this portable mp3/video-player and when it will be released?

I don't think I have ever seen a DRM WAV file on NetLibrary. I have only seen WMA or MP3 files. Contact them & ask if the file is supposed to be WAV or WMA. Also check that the clock on your player has the correct time & date.
