  • How to find out the firmware version in my Nokia 6...

I have tried to follow your instructions about checking the firmware version in my Nokia 6630 but you missed some important final steps. How do you do it step by step?

You shouldn't look at getting your firmware updated just because there's a newer version - only if you're experiencing faults. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is something well worth bearing in mind.

  • UML290 crashes on Mac + checking firmware version

    Hello,
I have a Pantech UML290 and I am using VZAM 7.3.6 2704b for Mac OS X Lion. I am wondering if L0290VWB333F.230 is the latest version of the firmware for the device, because when I try and do a firmware check through VZAM I get this error:
    "Failed to check firmware availability.
The specified firmware is not (or no longer) available on the device"
The reason why I wanted to check for a firmware update is because the modem will regularly "disappear" from VZAM, or, when connected, simply stop responding or receiving packets.
Upon looking in the crash logs, I see plenty of logs where "vzwwirelessd" goes down, report below.
    Many thanks!
    Sam
    CRASH REPORT here -- https://gist.github.com/1284441

I'm not sure if this is the same bug or not, but it definitely took care of crashing podcasts on my own iPod, no matter what the EQ is set to. I learned about the one-second-in fix online when searching for 'podcast crashing ipod', tried it out myself, and it worked, so that's the fix I'm applying with my script.
Test it out, you can always undo the changes with the second 'remove' script. I'd like to know if it works for you!

  • How to know firmware version for all devices in a CUCM cluster

    Hello,
We need to know the firmware version used for each one of the devices in a CUCM cluster (version 6.1)
Anybody know if we can get this info for example wit the BAT?
    Thanks and regards,

You typically need to use a 3rd Party application to do this.
There are many that can do basic device information gathering, but if you are looking for a complete endpoint solution that scales to 10,000+ devices you should have a look at PhoneView from UnifiedFX (http://www.unifiedfx.com)

  • How to check firmware version without unpacking iphone4?

my iphone4 bought online through singapore apple store
    my serial no : 870466N4AS4
from what i learnt from internet
870 should be factory ( singapore or china i guess)
    46 means 46th week (10th to 16th November)
    6N4 (unique code)
    AS4 means iphone4
    iOS 4.2 Release Date: November 22 2010
    so from logical thinking
my iphone 4 should be either OS 4.0 or 4.1 right?
    thanks

If you know the week when 4.1 was released and then 4.2.1, and i'm assuming week 46 was not too long ago so I would assume that it would come with 4.1 pre-installed?
Just an F.Y.I, we are on week 48, so it seems like your phone was built 2 weeks ago, which the 4.2.1 came out 2 weeks ago, but most likely you will have 4.1 on it.

  • Viber's latest version for all Nokia S60 series is...

Viber's latest version doesn't work at all on Nokia 5230, which is one the model that have been officially tested by viber. The latest version is extremely slow. You can t open a conversation because when you do so, the only option it gives you is "delete". You have to go to contacts where the scrolling button doesn't respond automatically. You have to wait for it to go down or up, and that s the only way for you to open a conversation, even if you are currently chatting. From the home page where all your conversations are shown, it s impossible to do anything. And you do not get the smileys option nor the calling one.I don t know if it s a Nokia problem or Viber's but this has to be fixed. The previous version was a succesful one. But this latest is a brilliant fail. It s really disapointing. Help

    Hi BimbitBodoh,
Allow me to ask this. Is the behavior the same when using another application? If yes, re-installing the phone's software using Nokia Suite is what I'd suggest. You can download it from here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-suite/
If the issue happens with the Viber application, don't you think you should follow the advice given by psychomania? As compatibility of the application depends on the developer, any issues as regard to the content or features of it should be addressed directly to them as well: http://helpme.viber.com/
    Cheers.

  • How to query for a firmware version?

    Hi,
My customer requires to report all firmware versions for all components. How do I acquire a firmware version for a PXI card? I have a number fo card (PXI-5421, PXI-4072, PXI-6653).
    Thanks
    CT

    Hey Cimteker,
Firmware is handled differently accross various cards. Unfortuantely because of this, there's no one easy way to get firmware versions for everycard since it isn't all handled in the same way. I'm curious what the overall application is and why all of the firmware versions for the cards are needed. The driver version updates all the firmware that's necessary. Because of this, alot of time firmware is driver dependant.
Do you by any chance have an open service request with this same issue? We're currently looking into the firmware versions for these cards, and I'm wondering if the two issues are tied together.
The PXI-5421 is an arbitrary waveform generator FGEN device. with FGen, there's a VI inside of the driver that will actually return the firmware. It's called niFGEN Revision Query VI. You can get there by going to NI-FGEN » Utility >» niFgen Revision Query.vi. I also believe niSCOPE has the same situation.

  • Is every ios release overtakes the previous firmware version ?

Well I dont Know from where to start ....
I am using an Iphone 5 the problem is I am stuck in the recovery mode due to error 1 which is obviosly a hardware issue and most likely to be a baseband problem but here it is why am I asking this question because I was running ios 7.0.6 and suddenly the iphone became in ''Searching..." mode so tried the factory settings by erasing all data and settings but couldn't help so I went DFU mode and restored my iphone using 7.1 IPSW and Wizardry the iphone worked for just one day then the same problem ''Searching..'' .
So I went DFU mode again but this time I let itunes to update to the latest firmware version which is IOS 7.1.1 and then amazingly the phone worked for few hours but then again same problem '' Searching..." and BTW EVERY THING WORKING FINE EVEN WIFI EXCEPT THAT NO CALLS,TEXTS OR CELLULAR DATA AND THERE IS NO IMEI OR FIRMWARE.
So I went DFU for the third time but I got the error 1 alert message and Now I am stuck in Recovery mode.So .. Is that means that every IOS release over takes the previous firmware ... which means if I waited for the next IOS 7.1.2 or IOS 8 hopefully I will be able to get out from the recovery mode and run away from the error 1 alert monster ? ... and I know the problem searching might occur again but I think I might give up then for this handset then. But I want to try all the solutions and options I have in my hands since I got no AppleCare/Store in my Country

It is true that updates may potentially bring changes to some firmware as well as software, but not every thing changes in each update.  If your hardware is failing compatibility with the current firmware, I would bet money that you are going to have issues with future versions as well.  The iOS assumes that your hardware is in working order when it was designed and a failure in that hardware results in these errors and the inability to operate using the firmware.  To assume that a different firmware (especially a future firmware update) will fix you issue is close to absurd, unless that firmware version made all iPhones (or even most) have hardware communication issues.  Until that day, Apple is not going to alter the firmware.  Also you stated that it worked then stopped multiple times and now you receive error 1, which during the update basically means the iPhone is not passing the hardware test, so even with a future update, the hardware is not going to pass the diagnostic test when installing firmware, therefore you will still need service.
Even if you have to send it off to a friend in the country of purchase, it's going to be better and faster than waiting on something that has a 1% chance of success.

Yes, I posted this same information in the Video Surveillance section a few weeks ago.  it was actually a Partner on the
community who found this and brought it to our attention and we fixed it.
Thanks for cross posting here, since you are right in it also effected this router.
And a big thank you for taking the time to collaborate some very useful information with the community.  I have noticed your recent posts and I think they are well writen, helpful, and well organized.   I also like your idea of turning some threads into solutions documents and resource labs perhaps.
If you would ever like to post something of that natire, you may also.  Just creat a document with your findings.

  • How to check the firmware version of my MSI DR8-A

    Hi guys,
How do I check the firmware version of my DVD writer MSI DR8-A ?
I just bought this DVD writer, burned a DVD using a Melody DVD disc.
    And have problem reading it.
Does it have anything to do with the firmware version?
Is there a list of recommended DVD disc to be used with this burner ?
    Thanks a lot !!!

Click Start, then Run and then type msinfo32.
When the box pops up it'll have the options for your listed components. Open this tree and find your DVD-RW. To the right it will list your firmware for this drive.
I do not know of any problems with these drives and certain media, but then again I haven't used any yet as I've only just got the drive. Don't scare me.

    Hello there !
Hopefully some smart persons here will be able to help me. First it has been awhile since i used my itune store because i didnt needed to and did a format of my computer after the last time i used it..so i had to upload my library etc and start from scratch. I downloaded a couple new games, everything was working fine..then when it came the time to sync and put these games on my ipod touch 2 gen the installation failed. I retried again and it keeps failing again and again so i choose to do a restore on it and expecting the problems would be solved. Problem wasnt not solved at all and it said an error (6) occured and i have the image on my ipod of the white cord trying to connect to itune store.

  • Will firmware version 4.1.7 automatically update to 4.1.9?

I recently upgraded to OS 10.3 from OS 10.0 on my Imac 700MHz G3. The installation documentation said that I would be prompted to upgrade the firmware if I needed to. I was not prompted so I went ahead and did the OS 10.3 installation. The firmware remained version 4.1.7f4 after the install.
Not too long ago I went through the same procedure on my Imac 400MHz DV. The only difference is that I started the upgraded process from OS 9.I, then to 9.2.2 using the updates (ending at the latest version of 9), then to 10.0, and then to 10.3. And finally updating with 10.3.9 combo to OS 10.3.9. During that whole process I never new about firmware and never checked to see what version I had before starting this process. After all of the above installations were finished I ended up with firmware version 4.1.9f1.
My concern is with the 700MHz G3 IMac. I'd like to update to 10.3.9 using the combo update but I'm concerned about the firmware. Will firmware 4.1.7f4 be updated automatically to 4.1.9f1 after the combo OS 10.3.9 is installed? Or should I erase the disk again and start over by first installing firmware update 4.1.9? Actually if that were the case I wouldn't be able to update my firmware since I don't have the correct bootable version of OS 9 on disk that is required for that computer. However my previous experience with the installations on the 400MHz DV suggests to me that that the firmware will automatically be updated. But I would like confirmation from the experts. I'd hate to spend all that time downloading and installing all of the latest updates (Combo 10.3.9, etc.) only to find that the firmware version is incorrect.
    Thanks!
    Al

    Al,
I don't understand your anger. In your first message
you posted that you installed OS 9 and updated it to
9.2.2. So why don't you do that again on the 700 MHz
    iMac?
I find it very amusing that somehow you see anger in my post. That is realy very funny! The reason I didn't just simply install OS 9 on the 700MHz Imac is stated in my original post. I would need a special (the original disk that came with this computer) bootable OS 9.1 disk to install 9.1 on this particular computer. However if there are retail 9.2 or greater disks available then that would work to. I own a retail version of 9.1 that I used for the 400MHz Imac. That wont work on the 700MHz Imac. So now I have to buy a another OS 9 disk. Thanks for your input. Al

  • Can't update to the latest (v52) firmware version ...

Other people can update their software but I cannot, although we have the same Nokia device model. What's wrong?
Update availability is based on many things, including existing Nokia device firmware version, country, and operator. It may be due to one of these variables that your Nokia device isn't eligible for updates.
Please note that your mobile service provider, operator, or carrier may not have approved the latest Nokia device firmware available.
Nokia produces many different variants of each product (for different countries and languages) and not all variants have the latest Nokia device firmware. It is our priority to update all variants as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any delay. New software may become available at a later date, however, so please check again soon.
Is there any other way that I apply the new v52 update for my 5800 XM? Even if it voids warranty? Because I really hate my browser and music crashing, battery eating - from full to empty in ~1.5hour, meanwhile the phone is really hot and it is in stand-by - no programs running.
    Info:
I am from Slovenia, my phone model is RM-356, current version V51.0.006 - installed on 19.11.2010. Language Slovene, 7. Serial - under the battery 0579282. Tryed updating via Wi-Fi on the phone, via PC - with "Nokia Software Updater", both said there is no new firmware available, while there is obviously.
    Any help appreciated!!

I understand that this is a real bummer and painfull.
There is unfortunately nothin we can do to help you to get the most recent update if it ain't made available for your device.
From the power consumption, there could be an issue related to hardware which only a care point can fix.
However, you could back up what you need and perform a soft reset to wipe the phone memory, then install your apps one by one to check if there is an app or more causing this. You can also try to reinstall the fw with Ovi suite. Just connect and check if it's possible to do so, then back up your content and proceed.
I cannot guarantee that this will fix it, but it might be worth a try if youre without warranty.
Have you checked if there are a warranty checker tool available on your local Nokia site?
The Nokia browsers has always been a bit sensitive, so I suggest you download opera mobile or opera mini and install it on your phone memory (C: ) Should be much more stable.
