Greek Letters, Symbols for College Fraternities and Sororites

Does anyone know how to access a palette of characters that has Greek letters or symbols for Greek Fraternities and Sororities? I am working on a project and I need to have their letters on the screen.
Thanks!
Examples:
Delta looks like a triangle
Omega looks like a horseshoe
Phi looks like a O with a line in the middle of it.

Here's another way.
Go to System Preferences > International > Input Menu.
Activate the checkboxes for Character Palette and Keyboard Viewer.
Close System Preferences. You will notice that a flag has appeared in your menu bar.
Click the flag and choose Character Palette. Click on Greek in the left column.
In FCP, activate the text input field by clicking in it once.
Double clicking the symbols in the Character Palette will insert them in the text input field.

  • Windows Login Screen doesn't show "eye" symbol for Password Reveal and right arrow (Enter)

    When logging in to Windows 8.1 the eye symbol and right arrow symbol have been displayed until (I guess so) after an automatic Windows Update . As I was planning to migrate to Windows 10 I didn't invest much investigation into this problem. Now, after successful migration to Windows 10 Home the problem still exists. After typing the password I can't verify it because the eye symbol is still missing and for entering I have to press "Enter" due to the missing clickable right arrow. All this happens with a Microsoft online Account. I established a local account and with this, the eye symbol but not the right arrow reappeared. Many thanks for helping.

    Hi there
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you wish to enable the reveal password icon for your system. I am happy to help. It really depends on which version of the Operating system you are running, because this sort of thing is normally controlled using the Group Policy Editor. That tool is not a part of a Home edition, you would need the Pro version or higher to have that. Assuming that you do have a pro edition or higher, then these may be of help to you:5 Ways to Access Local Group Policy Editor on Windows 10 - isunshare.comDisable or Enable the new Password Reveal Button feature in Windows 8 - windowsclub.com Unfortunately the version of Windows 10 I have installed beside me is the home edition as well, so I cannot access this, to verify, so let me know if that works for you.

  • When using Yahoo for email, the symbols for spellcheck, edit and fontsize are blank. If I hold the arrow over the space, it will show me what it is. This only happens with Mozilla, but works fine with Att.

    If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.

  • I tried resetting my pram but now my MacBook won't startup it just stays in the grey apple symbol for 20 mins and then goes to the login page but does not login!

    Help, my backscreen keeps flickering and I got told that resetting the pram (alt ctrl p and r) might fix it. But now it won't start up at all. It was working fine befor but now just goes on grey apple screen for 20 mins then the log on page comes up but it won't log in! I don't have the original install disk. I'm not sure what to do and I can't afford to take it to the apple store. What can I do?

  • Greek Language Support for Zen To

    The majority of my music collection is Greek songs and it'ss a real shame that Creative does NOT have language support for Greek. I tried entering a song in Greek letters since I have dual language support on my Windows XP. When I look at the Media Source Transferring program, the file name seems to be recognized and doesn?t seem as if there is a problem. However when I view the song title on my Creative Zen Touch (V 2..0 Plays for Sure) the characters are stretched out funny and doesn?t read accent marks similar to how I posted the example bellow.
    A l l I [] s m e a f [ ] s e s ( These [ ] are due to accent marks I guess not being recognized Also pretend this is in Greek letters since this board won?t let me post it in Greek?)
    Is there any way around this? It doesn?t seem like such a hard thing for the Creative people to fix?
    The sad thing is that Apple actually has Greek language support and to me this is a huge importance to me. I don?t like writing my Greek song titles in Latin characters, it just seems silly.

    Hi Colorfinger,
    I also own a Zen Touch and have exactly the same problem you have detailed below with the majority of the music I have loaded to the player as it is in greek and the player doesn't support it. I also have the majority of my music library in greek characters in Windows XP due to the cataloguing issues which arise if the track information is left in latin characters.
    When I contacted Creative last year in regards to this they advised me they did not have greek language support for their players and had no plans on offering it in the future either. This of course makes the music library on the Zen Touch an absolute joke, irrespecti've of whether the track information has been loaded onto the player with greek or latin characters. If it has been loaded with latin characters you have the same artist appearing in various areas of the library due to the non standardised spelling of greek words in english. They are either typed phonetically, in greeklish or best guess english. If the track information is in greek, well we have the problem you have outlined in regards to the stress mark not being recognised, the spacing and the alphabetization of the library being a joke when the first letter ot either the artist/album/song is preceded by a stress mark.
    I have to admit to being very disappointed as the main reason I purchased a Creative Zen touch is because I had been advised it had multiple language support and I did want to load all my music to the player with greek characters.
    To anyone else out there with the same problem, make yourselves known and start asking for firmware updates to include greek language support, especially for people buying Creative's players in Greece.Message Edited by Tomaraki on 09-30-2006 06:00 PM

  • Does Pages have Greek letters?

    I'm trying to write up some math notes in Pages and would like to use some Greek letters like mu, sigma, Sigma and others. Is this possible?
    Thanks

    Keyboards modify the way you type in characters.
    Download Amaya for OSX and install it, then select it as a keyboard from your System Preferences. The page I linked you to shows you how to type the Greek characters.
    All the characters exist in Unicode which Pages and other OSX applications use. Inserting using specialty Keyboards or via the Character viewer.

  • Using Greek letters and medical symbols in DW

    I am new to a medical college and have never used medical or
    Greek symbols in web pages. I have located the HTML entity
    reference for greek letters in DW. However, some of the medical
    publication references must show numbers slightly below the text
    baseline. These are not available in the DW list.
    Can anyone advise me on how to create numbers below a text

    Wrap the entities in a tag.
    Ex:
    <p>Logn(x) = 2.14</p>

  • Greek Letters and Superscript

    Is it possible to insert a greek character into pages on the ipad? When I import an office doc containing a greek character, the greek character is present. Also, is it possible to superscript and subscript in pages on the ipad?

    I know this is an old thread but it's still the top result in google for this problem so I'm posting here.
    I had been copy/pasting greek letters & other symbols for a long time before I realised this trick today.
    Use the iPad's shortcuts feature in keyboard settings for any symbols you use regularly, eg I use "ss2" as a shortcut for 2 and "/-" for ±, still a work around but alot smoother than what I've been doing for over a year with the added bonus of working in any app.
    Combined with the greek intl keyboard this is barely a problem, even if it is a glaring omission by apple.

  • I want to use some Greek letters.  I found the font "Symbols" which  shows what I want but I cannot print in it.  I can print in all the other fonts.

    I want to use some Greek letters.  I found the font "Symbols" which  shows what I want but I cannot print in it.  I can print in all the other fonts.  What can I do?

    To type Greek, go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and check the box for Greek, plus the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar, plus the box for Keyboard Viewer.  The select Greek from the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type.  Select Keyboard Viewer from the same menu to see which key does what.  Do not worry about the font, that is taken care of automatically.

  • Qt and xfce and a bunch of greek letters

    first of all i googled my self into some of this conclusion so let's see my case
    all programs that use qt in my computer have a strange way to comunicate with the user. for that they use a greek letters that we mentaly have to see similarities in order to read!!!
    a bunch of programs in greek.
    notepaddqq
    vlc
    on qtconfig-qt4 we can see what went wrong in the first image, we have a font called Standard Simbols L and just looks like Greek
    here i select tahoma font and the sample is now readable
    the problem is when i save changes and close it. it doesn't save anything,
    and a little bit of information when i do su every program runs in english
    here is the config with tahoma
    check that strange font here when i selected it
    i use greybird as my theme, (i read that could be for this somewhere)
    and my locale is set this way
    LANG=en_US.UTF-8
    LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
    LC_ALL=

    that file is another issue. it is created when i open any qt program. i already deleted it. and call qtconfig-qt4, deleted and call vlc and is same old greek. i even edited it to tahoma instead of standard symbols L. i already ran qtconfig then rm it then save the configs (in this case it saved tahoma in the file).  i don't know what else to do with that file. maybe a copy paste from a functional one would resolve it but I doubt it.
    Thanks

    hello there! i am using Adobe acrobat pro DC and using windows 8.1. Recently I was trying to convert a web page (includes Greek letters) into PDF. I noticed that the conversion is not accurate, some words are missing, some are misplaced. Especially Greek words are not accurately converted or even not converted. Please give me some suggestions to improve this issue. Regards

    Hey quantum info,
    Thank you for posting at Adobe forums. We would love to help you out.
    Could you please let me know if you have tried converting other web pages to PDF and checked if the same issue persists.
    How have you been trying to convert the web page to PDF?
    Are you trying to convert to PDF directly via browsers or using "File > Create > PDF from Web Page"  option in Acrobat.
    Let me know more so that I can analyze where actually the issue persists.
    Hope to hear from you.
    Regards,

  • [solved] Greek letters or symbols in inkscape

    Well, I'm trying to produce a greek letter in inkscape using the font "Standard Symbols L" in inkscape and it does not work. It looks like it is a regular font and I cannot found a way to make any greek letter in inkscape.

    The best way is to use the textext package in AUR that produces LaTeX formulas into inkscape (in vectorial format, so it does not alter the quality).
    Else, any wide charset font should be suitable for greek character, you can copy/paste the greek lettre from a table of characters (the problem is that I've not found any character selector with Gnome/KDE/Xfce dependecy yet.) You can copy from OpenOffice or other (yeah, that's not a real solution and I did that sucessfully for lambda but not epsilon)
    Finally, you can type Ctrl+U and type the character code. you will find them in this document : http://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0370.pdf

  • I need to buy a new MB for college! I'm thinking of getting a 13" MBA w/ the external DVD/CDROM drive and portable/external/whatever it's called memory. Where should I buy, Best Buy or Apple Store?

    So basically a BB employee told me that instead of giving me the apple giftcard (one that would given to me for the back-to-school deal at apple) they would discount that off. Also, she says that their insurance policy (instead of apple care) would replace my macbook "then and there" if anything were to happen to it. Sounds too good to be true since I've had MANY MANY troubles with BB when I bought my first and only white MB 4 years ago. They were horrible. But she said the policy has changed since then and that people come in to exchange MBs daily. Can anyone help me! :3 Thank you <3
    ALSO, (sorry for being a pain) is the MBA a good choice if I'm getting an external/portable hardrive as well as a DVD/CD-ROM drive? I need a MB for college stuff: writing papers, projects, presentations, other general college stuff. MBA doesn't have moving parts, which is a huge plus since I am not careful with my things, and will probably drop my MB a million times.

    MacBook Air is a perfect choice for a college student. I have used a MBA as my only machine for several years now and am a professional in the advertising industry. I write a lot, do some (little) graphics work, code, and create presentations and videos. It's more than capable.
    I have an external CDRW/DVDRW but I got mine from Amazon it's not Apple-branded. It works great but was a fraction of the cost. Also if you buy the Air from Amazon you can get free shipping and pay no sales tax, which may come out to less than getting the educational discount. However, if you qualify for both the $100 gift card and the educational discount you'll probably come out better getting it at Apple.
    Here's the top of the line Air at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00746YD24/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=beley-20&camp=0&creati ve=0&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B00746YD24&adid=0PNV1Q2S073PY61NZQZX&
    And a good DVD burner: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ZMVQRA/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=beley-20&camp=0&creati ve=0&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B004ZMVQRA&adid=1GWB9HRMSW1VW92SD9WF&
