Green and Grey Arrows

I have been trying to sync my playlists so that I can listen offline. On some of my playlists, most of my tracks have a green arrow, but the entire playlist has a grey arrow next to it. Does this mean I can still listen to those songs offline even though the entire playlist isn't synced? Also how do I fix this problem? It looks to me the reason the playlist doesn't have a green arrow next to it is because there are songs on there that I have deleted that I can no longer play (they are still on the playlist, they are just in dark grey and can't be played). Any idea how to fix this? Going on a trip and want to listen offline.  Also if this helps at all. The same playlists on my phone that aren't syncing entirely are also not showing up as being avaliable offline on my macbook. On my macbook these playlists have a syncing arrow thing next to them.

Hello & welcome to the community!
Firstly and just to be sure, verify if the playlist you want to download has the Offline usage switch on.
Now, when each individual song has a green arrow, it means that you can listen it on Offline Mode.
If a song has a grey arrow next to them, it means that it isn't downloaded yet, but it is going to be downloaded.
If a song has a loading symbol it means it is dowloading for offline syncing.
If a song isn't being downloaded on a playlist maybe it's because of device memory.
Spotify will stop downloading songs when the device you are using has a small available storage.
(sometimes even if you have 500MB-1GB available)
Try deleting apps and stuff you don't need and maybe that helps.
Check your internet connection too.
Maybe closing the app and its process helps.
If nothing works then I would reinstall the Spotify app.
When a playlist shows a green arrow next to it, it means it already has all the songs within it downloaded.
When a playlist shows a grey arrow next to it, it means that it was marked for offline usage but not all the songs within it are downloaded.
Let me know if you have any more doubts.
Hope this helps! ♫

What I mean by green and grey bits is that in the exported footage randomly some scenes will be replaced with a green or grey screen instead the footage. The audio remains the same.

  • My iphone screen just shows red, green and grey lines?

I dropped my iphone 5 on gravel and the glass was all cracked but still working perfectly, the other day i dropped it again inside my house, working fine, but some glass fell out, then this morning I squeezed it a little hard and part of the glass was off, then i pushed it back in and about a quarter of the screen went black, and the rest got darker, and it also would open things and select things on its own, then after it was in my pocket the entire screen turned to black with some green, red and other colored lines on the black, it will still vibrate for messages and when i hold the home button i hear the siri thing. Do I need an entire new phone(which i really dont want to replace it) or can this be fixed? and if it can, is it just the screen or also some internal parts? Thanks for reading

Have you tried creating a backup then restoring the phone as new? If it's still happening on a wiped phone, it's almost definitely a hardware issue that needs to be repaired

  • Restart request and green and gray stripes on screen, impossible to run

    Hi.
My MacBook does not start correctly. I immediately get the "you need to restart your computer message on a screen that is covered by green and grey stripes vertically. One issue I had recently is that I got close to the limit of the harddrive (1 GB space left).
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
1 GB is not enough free space--you are in danger of a crash and losing everything. Here is a link for doing that:

It sounds like you are experiencing a kernel panic. Here is an article that might be helpful:

Do you have a good up to date backup? If not, you need to make one before it is too late.
    Good luck!

    good luck,

  • Do the changes in the spinning icon in your tab mean anything when connecting? It is grey and spinning counterclockwise then it changes to green and spins clockwise.

When connecting to a site the tab has a spinning icon. It is grey and it spins counter-clockwise. Then it changes color to green and spins clockwise. Does this mean anything (possibly transferring data or data done). If so, what triggers the change. This is not a problem I am just interested in this behavior.

Counter clockwise means that Firefox is trying to connect to the server and is waiting for the server to respond to that request.

  • Upon opening Firefox, all tabs start connecting without any websites, the proccessing grey circle on each tab periodically turns green and back to grey.

When I start firefox the normal page doesn't open and instead the tabs start connecting and connecting without any website and the grey circle that each tab has turns green and then grey and the process repeats itself. And If I try to type an address I can't because upon pressing 'w', it tries to connect to what I don't know.

hello, it sounds like a theme or extension might be interfering here. please try launching firefox in safe mode once and see if the issue is occurring there too. in case it's working correctly, please go to firefox > addons > extensions and disable/remove any extension that look suspicious/you didn't install intentionally or that might interfere with the tab loading behaviour.

Why when I send messages from my iPhone to other IPhones, they come up green and not blue? I have all the settings on for I message b ut my number comes up grey and not black? Please someone help!

    Hi evan191,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has some steps you can try if your messages aren't sending as iMessages:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
If you still can't send or receive iMessages
Ensure that iMessage is turned on in Settings > Messages.
To send and receive iMessages, your device must have a valid cellular or Wi-Fi data connection.
    iPhone: Troubleshooting Cellular data
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
iMessage registration validates your Apple ID for use with iMessage. If you are unable to activate iMessage, follow this article.
If an iMessage cannot be sent, it will be resent using SMS or MMS, depending on the content. You can turn this behavior on or off in Settings > Messages > Send As SMS. Carrier messaging rates may apply.
Verify that the Apple ID or phone number is listed in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Why has my new Yosemite begun to display purple, green and black

why has my new Mac Yosemite begun to display un purple, green and black

This behaviour takes over the whole screen.  Restart brings back normal grey/white but the colour problem returns during further computer use.
No changes have been made to the colour preferences.

  • After syncing my iPad2 my color/contrast settings are all messed up. Reds are blue, greens are grey. It resembles infra-red images I've seen. How do I restore normal color/contrat settings?

After syncing my iPad2, all of my color/contrast settings are messed up. Reds look blue and greens look grey. It reminds me of infra-red imaging. I'm not sure what happened. Can someone tell me how to fix this and maybe tell me what I did to cause this?

Try going to Settings > General > Accessibility > white on black and turn this OFF.

your 13-inch Mid 2009 MacBook Pro requires 1066 MHz RAM, but you have 1333 MHz RAM installed. Try replacing the 1333 MHz RAM with 1066 MHz RAM — Macs can be picky about the RAM which they find acceptable.

Do what you are being told. Plug the phone into a computer running iTunes and restore the phone.

  • Shuts down after start tone and grey screen with pin wheel...!???

Hi all, first time here so please bear with me,
even though i have had my imac for so long now, i have only in the last three to four months started playing around with it, i really am a newcomer to macs, and pc's come to that! so far i have only connected up to the internet and put a couple of home video's onto dvd, and play music.
i have been reading a lot of the other posts and frankly i'm lost!
it is about 20 months old and was bought in the uk, i live in cyprus and for that reason i did not purchase an apple plan.
we do not have an apple store here although there is an apple dealer, however they are not soley apple and over here service leaves a lot to be desired! so i am reluctant to take it to them as they are likely to just keep replacing parts and eventually present me with a huge bill!!
    anyhow this is the problem:
several times the screen went dim and froze, with a message saying to "push the power button to switch off and and then switch on again", it seems this happened each time when i opened azureus? after this happened a few times it would no longer open the desk top, it would load normally,ie. grey screen with pin wheel followed by blue progress bar and then just a blank blue screen, the blue tooth mouse however was still connected as the cursor would move. it has now changed again! start up tone and grey apple screen with pin wheel for about 30secs or so, then the fan seems to go into turbo mode for a few secs before switching off....i feel sick!! i was really getting to like my mac.
i did recently install tiger, but there were no problems at all with that and it is running on a friends apple with no problems at all, more recently i added more memory which coincided with when i started using torrentspy and azureus,
i did read in another forum something about possible memory probs, so i followed the tip to remove the memory and the back up battery and leave the computer unplugged for 24hrs, i replaced the battery but not the memory, i'm still getting exactly the same shut down result.....
can anyone shed some light on this pleeease? i'm feeling rather desperate right now.....thanks.

    Hi ino,
My suspicion is that you have serious hard drive directory corruption caused by the crashes when using azureus.
First step is to see whether you can boot up from your Mac OS X DVD . Put it in the drive while its on, and start up the computer again while holding down the "c" key. The computer should now start up from the DVD.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar (which menu it is in depends on which version of OSX you are using).
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
If Disk First aid is able to complete the repair now click on the "Repair permissions" button.
Once this process has been completed try restarting the computer.
If it still doesn't work, you may have to try an "archive and install", while booted from the OSX DVD.
Be very wary with software like "azureus".
    Cheers
    Rod

  • Repeatedly getting stuck on spinning wheel and grey screen, even after multiple re-installs of the OS

Ok, so running Lion on a MacBook, (2010 i think) and the OS got corrupted(stuck on spinning wheel and grey screen on boot)
Tried to repair the disk via disk utility using an install CD, no go, couldn't repair, so, did a clean install.
New install went fine, computer worked for about 3 days and then stuck on the spinning wheel again.
suspecting physical damage to the harddrive, I installed the OS to an external, and booted from there. Worked for a couple days and then stuck on the spinning wheel.
I have repeated the process 5 times now, each time it works for a little and then craps out again.
    What's going on?
as a note, when I say it gets stuck on the spinning wheel, I have left it for 12 hours trying to boot to no avail.

The Apple Hardware Test doesn't always detect all errors.
Next time you get the gray screen/spinning wheel, try booting into the Safe Mode to see if it will boot.
Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
