Green battery indicator still flashing when battery is fully drained?

I'm currently calibrating my battery from my aluminum macbook (with removable battery) and drained the battery. The white front led isn't flashing anymore as expected according to the calibration guide.
However, after 2 days now I still see the battery indicator flashing 5 times when I press it. Does this mean the battery is not yet fully drained?
Quite strange because with my previous black Macbook, when the battery was fully drained, battery indicator on the bottom of the battery didn't flash when I pressed the button.

You really only need to let it sit for about 5 hours after it goes to sleep on its own. That will drain the power "enough". The blinking is normal as an indication that the battery is drained. Lithium Ion/Polymer batteries have circuitry which will prevent their charging if they discharge below a certain critical level. Once your machine has gone to sleep due to running low on power and you let it sit for about five hours after that, you can start to charge it up again. Basically, follow the instructions for calibrating the battery. You don't want the battery to sit fully discharged for any extended period of time.

Open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences and disable automatic login, and then go into the Security & Privacy pane and set the computer not to log out after a period of inactivity.

  • Is it better to charge the IPad when the battery is fully drained?

People tell me that charging the iPad while there is still battery life is bad but others say its ok. I don't get the difference or which one is better for that matter.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • MacBook was shut down improperly now it won't boot up, until the battery is fully drained

    macbook pro 17 late 2009
last week my Mac shut down because it ran out of battery,so I plugged in charged it, next morning it wouldn't boot. No sounds coming from it at all, not even attempting to boot. I let it sit unplugged, battery drained in about 1 1/2 days, plugged it in, got a little charge, and it rebooted just fine. This morning my son thought it was turned off, hit the power button, and it shut down.... now it won't reboot. Again no sounds coming from it at all. I don't have a day and a half to let it drain out again. Any help is appreciated !

  • My iPad 2 doesn't show the green battery icon when charging.

when i charge the ipad2 i see that it is charging on the top right symbol
i do not see the big green battery like on the iphone.
Why is there no big green battery on the opening screen when i wakeup the ipad2?

That feature doesn't show on the iPad2. I only have the symbol in the upper corner as well. You can buy a batter app that when used will show the battery upon wake up.

  • I want to know what happens when the iPad battery gets fully charged and the charger is still connected

When the battery gets fully charged, and the charger is still connected to the iPad, does the iPad use power from the battery or does it use the charger?

  • Satellite A500 - Battery light flashes when connected to mains power

    Win 7 Satellite A500 PSAM3A-03P00E.
The battery light flashes when connected to mains power (intermittent fault), when I unplug mains and re-connect flashing stops and battery (high capacity) continues to charge.
Also when battery light flashes the key board back lighting stays on when it should blank out and if the back lighting is off and the battery light starts flashing the key board back lighting doesn't turn on, all other functions seem to work fine.
The battery charges and holds charge as it should (when light flashes battery doesn't charge).

    Hi
Did you notice this issue from first day of purchase?
Theoretically it could be possible that your battery starts to malfunction
At the other hand an electronic issue might be possible too
    However, try this:
Remove ac adaptor and battery. Then press and hold power buttons 30 sec long.
Then insert the battery and connect AC adaptor again does it helps?
By the way: is BIOS up to date? If not, perform an update.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

All fixed, the earth contact in the power jack was bent down allowing intermittent contact and limiting current. I bent the contact back up to where it should be and all is good.

  • What to do if upon charging after a few minutes it shows the plug symbol on battery but the green battery icon on the main screen is still half?

what to do if upon charging after a few minutes it shows the plug symbol on battery but the green battery icon on the main screen is still half?

One of two things usually. Less often charger is faulty, try another charger. Most often the plug symbol in this situation indicates faulty battery.
Try a Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off" let iPhone restart itself.

  • Charging Issues - Green Battery only goes half way.

    Howdy,
I just sent my ipod touch in for service in for service on September.

I paid to have my battery replaced. They say that the could not duplicate my issue. Apparently my cc was not charged at all.
My issue is: the battery won't do a complete charge. I have 3 different white cords to plug my ipod into my new mac book pro. I have a car charger as well.
The green "battery" only fills up half way.
I rode the battery into the red this weekend listenig to audiobooks. The battery will charge, but not get "full"
I must admit when the ipod came back from Apple the green "battery" was full.
Last night was the third night in a row(aka 3 different wires) that my ipod was plugged into my macbook pro with the sleep function turned off.
My car charger actually seems to drain the battery rather than charge it.
    Any ideas?
3 day old version of itunes
    software version on itouch 3.1.3
I believe its the first generation 16 model.

It's my understanding that on many of the older model Ipods, the battery indicator is faulty. It will show a half charge even if it is fully charged. Some of what I have read says that it will correct itself after using the device for a short time. Leave it on overnight and it should be fully charged. Use it a while and see if it shows a full charge or close to it. If not, and the battery runs out quickly you may have another issue.

my macbook air won't turn on.. last night it was still working properly... when i woke up this morning, i went to turn it on but it didn't respond..i tried plugging the charger and the lightning cord showed a green light which is normal when charging..i tried to open the macbook air again but nothing happened.. no fans, no chimes, no light in the laptop showed..what should i do? please help..thank you

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
A green light means that your battery is full or that it can't be detected. If you can't start up the Mac, probably your logic board or battery aren't working.
Take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller to get your battery or logic board replaced. If the MacBook is in warranty, this repair will be free

  • How can you tell when the battery is fully charged?

when done syncing, i have a totally green large battery icon- but thats what i always have- any other indication- or am i misreading the large green battery as an indicator to charge completness?
the little white battery icon never seems to change when using touch 2g?
    what am i missing please
    thank you very much

The small battery symbol has a lightning bolt symbol when the battery is charging and a electrical plug symbol when it is completely charged.

  • Green battery on top right of iPhone 4s lock screen, is it fake or normal one? It isn't charging.

My dad bought an "iPhone 4s" in Greece. He showed it to me on Skype. He showed me the box, there is an "AT&T" and a price sticker, and the "4s" on the side of the box is highlighted with black which I think that it isn't highlighted. When he showed me the phone, the lock screen has a green battery icon on top right of the lock screen, which is normally white. In my case, the battery was like the battery on "settings". I wanna know if it is normal or fake. Thanks.
