Green Cameras

This is a known issue on many Nokia Win phones. I read that it was to be fixed in February. We are upon April. Up front this was a new phone and no changes since it came from the box. Verizon 822.
Less than 24hs camera went green. Restarted an okay. But current photos have a green edge on them or sometimes a tint to them. This is known and unfixed. You contact provider and they send refurbished units. This is a new unit, not Ok. Nokia needs to cross ship replace them. Ignoring this issue leads to brand damage. Is a sales team going to push the units. No. I am the one doing tests for my company. I want to push this unit, but will have to report this if unfixed.
lf it is code work, do it. If hardware, recall them. This platform is pushed to do business. Not fixing will eventually hurt sells and reputation. Possibly leading to a class action case too.
Nokia, please step up and make this right. It wasn't an add on. It was stock. Still have the boarder and tinting, but at least have the camera back.

I have the same issue, plus the flash is not in sync with the shutter causin awful low light photos, and I totally agree with You, I'm a long time Nokia user and it let me down with this.

The green camera light fo the iSight camera is lit up. but when i go to Photo Booth, there is only a black screen - no image is showing, Can anyone tell me how to get an image?

    Hello Anne, (joyfulsoul)
Merely restarting you Mac may also fix your problem. If not, disconnect any USB peripherals and restart your Mac to see if the problem was caused by a conflict.
If your problem persists after the restart, try all relevant suggestions from Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight.
If the reset suggested there does not correct your problem, and if PB is the ONLY app that does NOT work properly with ANY app that uses iSight in ANY user account that you test, quit Photo Booth. Then delete the Photo Booth Preferences file (com.apple.photobooth.plist) from your Home / Library / Preferences folder. Then launch Photo Booth again and see if the problem is corrected.
If none of the above helps and you need to post back for other suggestions, please list EVERY apps that work correctly with your iSight and EVERY one that does not. Also tell us whether the problem is EXACTLY the same in every user account you tested.
If necessary, we will offer specific suggestions based on the details in your response.

I have multiple user accounts set up on my Mac. On one of our accounts, when iMessage is turned on, the green camera light automatically comes on. I do not want the camera enabled due to this being a child's account. The strange thing is the green light does NOT come on for the other accounts.
    Please advise...

    Hi,
It sounds like the Preferences are a window that is open and that it is set to the Video/Audio pane as this will "open" the camera each time the App is started.

OK then are you on any web sites that have a video conferencing capability like Facebook, Google Plus, etc. They can use your webcam too.
K T is correct, when the green light comes on something is activating your camera and you can potentially be seen.

I just wanted to follow this up by saying that you were entirely correct in your diagnosis of the situation.  My computer did have the faulty part you linked to.  I brought my laptop in and specifically told them to run that test, had it fail and then argued with the person at the genius bar and the manager.  Eventually they offered to have it sent out and have everything replaced for free of charge.  They did so mainly because I had complained about graphical issues almost every other time I had come in with problems and no one ran the test.  They should have caught this problem during my warranty, but they didn't, even though I mentioned the problem.
Anyhow, after having the part replaced, I haven't had my computer crash a single time since, or had many of the issues mentioned above.  I've never had this experience before.  Even brand new, I got occasional crashes.  Hopefully this new trend continues.
I do find that web browsing is still incredibly slow.  Web browsers just chug along at a slow pace, even though I have great internet speed.  Maybe I'll try just deleting my web browsers and reinstalling them...
Anyhow, thank you for your help and knowledge Clinton.

  • My MacBook Air is not allowing me to see others or myself during gchat but the green camera light above my screen is working. The pictures worked earlier today and all of a sudden they're no longer present.

My MacBook Air is not allowing me to see myself and others during gchat. The little light beside the camera goes green, so it's working but I still cannot view anything. I have used the camera and computer for gchatting with no problems previously. Thanks!!

Then, out of the blue, the original ID for my AE shows up on the iMac and phone and when I selected it my Wi-Fi worked, and is working.
My first thought is that the AirPort Express is normally good for 4-5 years on average, so you may be getting some signals in that regard.
The AirPort Express reset itself back to factory default settings. The big question now is if you re-configure it again whether it will hold those settings.  Not likely....my opinion.
The other problem that you have is that Mountain Lion operating system no longer supports the older version of the AirPort Express that you have.
Oh, and incidentally, my AE was cutting off a lot about a year ago and I took it into an Apple Store and they did something with the software in the device and the cutting off improved but still would occur at least twice a week
It's really time for a new AirPort Express, which will offer much faster reliable performance....and it will be compatible with AirPort Utility on the Mountain Lion operating system.

  • My MacBook Air green camera light is stuck on!

    Hi!
The green light next to the inbuilt Facetime camera is stuck on and as a result applications such as Facetime, iMovie and iPhoto say "no camera connected"... I don't know what to do! Help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • IPhone pink/green camera issue

So I noticed that when I'm indoors and I take photos of my white walls in low lighting, I get the pink in the middle, green on the outside issue that's been posted in blogs and message boards. When you're out in ample lighting, the pictures turn out fine.
I've had my iPhone for over a month now. I've read some people post their experiences about getting their phone swapped. I'd like to get mine swapped if possible for a better one.
Can anybody post their experiences with this issue and whether they were able to get a replacement at the Apple Store beyond the 14 days?

Yes you can. I had an issue. Apple replaced my phone with a new phone. The new phone solved the issue. They were fast and pretty nice about it. I am an happy Apple costumer.

  • Camera green light will not turn off

For days my green camera light has been on, despite closing ichat, blocking websites from using the camera in system preferences, and restarting. Any ideas what's going on? Is someone watching me?

Try logging into another account.  See if it's off.
Boot in safe mode and see if it's off.

  • S230U Twist - Camera no longer works after Win 8.1

    Hello all!
I've scoured the forums and tried EVERYTHING but I still cannot find a solution to my problem:
After I upgrade from Win 8 to Win8.1, my camera no longer works. It shows a gray screen with a camera and a diagonal line across it but the green camera light shows up; I also get a shutter sound when take a picture but the image is only of  the aforementioned gray camera screen. I can't use the camera for video in skype or any other video chat function.
My Integrated Camera driver version is 3.4.7.26 (SunplusIT) dated 3/15/2013. I tried to upgrade but it seems to be the latest one.
I've also checked that the Lock Screen setting is set to ON for "Swipe down on lock screen to use camera".
    SOMEONE, please HELP!

    Hi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I'm really sorry to hear that when you try to use webcam in your Lenovo S230U Twist, you are getting a crossed camera image.
Check if your camera is in normal or private mode. This could be happening because you might have set your camera in private mode.
Go into Lenovo Settings App and select camera.
There will be the options of Private and Normal.
    Select Normal.
Also, in Settings > Permissions, make sure that Skype and other similar apps have permission to access the Webcam or Microphone.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Mithun.

  • Unable to install external iSight camera

    Hello -
I was recently given a standalone iSight camera, and was told that I would just have to plug it in for it to work, as there was no disc. It is not working, and I can't find the software online. I went through the troubleshooting guide and tried restarting the computer with the camera plugged in, but no luck. I know both the camera and firewire port works, and the green camera light is on.
    I am running a powerbook 12" G4 and OS 10.4.11.
My second question is once I do get the iSight up and running, is there a place I can download photobooth for it?
    Thank you.

Have you tried the iSight camera on another Mac? If you can get that to work, then you at least know the problem is not with the camera. Are there other FireWire devices attached to your PowerBook? Have you unplugged all devices (including USB) from the PB to see if perhaps the power supply is overburdened?
Try booting in safe mode (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455). See if that gets the camera to work (may not if the drivers aren't loaded due to being in safe mode).
Lots of simple troubleshooting tips - try different combinations to see what works.

  • Camera light on for no reason plus Virus?

2 Questions this time. First, I've been having a lot of difficulty getting my battery to charge and stay charged. Finally I got it charging this evening, but when the computer turned on, the green camera light is also on. There are absolutely NO applications running except safari, so it's not on because of any applications using it. Does anyone know what to do about it, or if it will drain the battery?
Second, I was transferring some files onto my friend's PC from a pen drive, which we found out has the winfixer virus. I looked it up and it seems it is not a virus which affects macs, which makes sense why it never even showed up on my computer. I was wondering though how I could have possibly gotten this virus and how to get rid of it?

  • Baby dropped ipad n now the screen is green?  what does tht mean??

my kid dropped ipad and now the screen is green, like the home screen...i tried to turn it off then on, and the green came on, so now i can see the apps but the green hues are still there?

Try resetting the device ( hold the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears).  If that does not help, it is damaged.  Take it in for diagnosis.

  • Disable google's access to my imac camera

Hi, I liked using Google for making quick phone calls while on my computer until recently. They're using Google Hangout now, and even though I have the camera functionality disabled within the hangout window, it's using the camera and I guess taking a shot of me when I use it and when I hang up from a call? Whether they're taking a picture or not, the green 'camera in use' light is coming on at the beginning and end of every call. There is no way within the settings of the Hangout app to disable camera access, so, my question is this:
Is there a setting in Safari or in System Preferences that will allow me to restrict Google's access to my built-in camera?
Thanks so much for your help.

Not according to Google's Hangout info.
