  • My MacPro 10.6.8 has a thin green line on the screen.

My MacPro is just over a year old now and I have a thin green line on the screen. I hooked it up to my TV and on the second window (the TV) the green line wasn't there. Whats the issue? How do I fix it?

From what you are saying, sounds like a line of pixels out on the display.
Did the TV use the same connector on the computer? If not, swap the display with the TV. If you still have the line, it is one of the items that you swapped across.
Have you tried connecting the display to another computer? If so, is the line still there?
What kind of display is it? Can you swap the data cable and try a different cable, could be a cable issue.
Any adapters in use? If so, try swapping those to rule them out as a problem.

  • Iphone 5 green hue below the screen , is it will become worst ?

I want to ask about the green hue on the screen of iphone 5 after i wake it up from the sleep mode. does apple hve any answer to this? is it will become worst ? help me. i am worried that this has an effect in a long term . WE NEED AN EXPLANATION FROM APPLE A.S.A.P SINCE THIS PROBLEM IS FACED BY MANY PEOPLE AROUND THE GLOBE ! TAKE RESPONSIBILITY !

I've got the same problem and I found a couple of guys in a german iPhone-Forum who have the same issue as well... Seems to be something like a common hardware problem?! I wonder why Apple and their Genius'es don't know about it officially...?!
Does anybody got a feeling that the green hue accurs due to the use of some cases or other perpherals?! I first recognised the green light after receiving my new iP5-Case with a magnetic slider and after carrying my iP5 around in this case for a couple of hours. Since then I didn't use the magnetic-locked-case until now but the green light didn't stop appearing...
I already marked my iP5 for a replace because of the "Scratchgate" as soon as I'm back from holiday and I hope the new iP5 I'll get won't have the green lightning problem as well...

  • Why do I have green lines across the screen

This morning hubby turned on iPad and it has green lines through the screen. It is also circling the apps. Could this be a pixel problem.

There is no need to bang or drop the iPad!!  Read this solution.  Read the whole thing.
If your iPad is still under warranty, I have heard that Apple will simply exchange it for you.  That is not necessarily an ideal option, as many people do not want to have to bother with transfering all of their files to a brand new device.
My problem, however, was that my iPad was no longer under warranty when this occurred.  I was so sad, because the warranty is supposed to be for a year.  My mother bought it for me as a gift last Christmas, so it had not even been out of the box for a whole year when this happened.  Nevertheless, since my mother bought it in October, the warranty had *just* expired, since they go technically by the purchase date.
Apple offered to fix it for me for $300!!!!  A ridiculous price for a loose wire inside.  I simply am not in a position to spend that kind of money, and if I was, why not get a new device at that price (NON-Apple!).  I was very upset, but I didn't give up on it.  I scoured the Internet for an affordable solution, I found one, and it worked!!
The problem is caused by a loose cable on the inside, simple as that (can you imagine they ask $300 for the fix!!  After all I have invested in the App store, and buying the Apple keyboard to boot!!!).
The fix I found is simple, I did it, and it worked for me.  It is the same repair a professional would do in this situation.
The following video demonstrates how to open your iPad.  Warning!  This is a do-at-your-own-risk solution!  But I found it quite easy.  Watch the video (which actually demonstrates the entire process of replacing the screen),
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG5HhdeP_VY
Obviously, for our issue, you will not remove your screen.  Simply disconnect the two cables as shown in the video, and reconnect them!!  Simple as that!  Then just reassemble it according to the video.
I purchased the prying tool and screw driver and latches from sw-box.com -- for under $20.  I think it comes from Hong Kong, but it only took 8 days to get to me in TX, USA.
I hope this helps someone else.

  • My macbook pro keeps flashing green lines across the screen then freezing, can anyone help?

Back in December my macbook started doing this thing quite regularly where it would flash black or green lines all across the screen, for maybe half a second, then the screen would freeze, so I would power it down manually then back on again. I took it into a store and paid a lot of money for them to "fix" it, but when I got it back it was still doing it. I just recently took it in to a different store and the guy said he couldn't reproduce the problem, but replaced the RAM and gave it back to me. Within a day of having it back the same thing happened, twice. At this point I'm not sure what to do, the money I spent on "fixing" it could almost have bought me a new one. The most recent time I shut it off, when it was turning back on it stopped on the grey screen with the apple and started making a continuous beeping sound, which I took a video of. Does anybody know why any of this is happening??

Hi Were you using the apple store for the repairs you had done? As to the point of taking in to a store to have it repaired and getting it back with the same problem. It should have been taken back to the same store as they have to stand behind what they do. You do not say what they repaired. The store replacing ram without knowing what the problem is ,is questionable. If you are going to change ram for the original apple installed ram, you need to make sure it is compatible with your MBP. One of the best sources for this is  Macsales.com. As to the Beeping sounds here is a link on it. You do not say if this is one continuing beep or more than one repeating itself.http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202768

  • Late 2011 Macbook Pro green pixels on the screen where dark colors should appear.

I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro I bought it new with 4 gb of ram. About 4 months ago i purchased 8 gb of pny ram for this model and upgraded the ram. I followed all of the safety precautions and discharged my static electricity before upgrading. It increased the speed of my mac and helps with certain tasks. About 2-3 weeks i notices my mac froze and strange green black and pink bars appeared on the screen so i hold the power button to shut it down and it solves the problem this will happen about once a month but otherwise my mac works perfect. Now about a month ago I powered my mac on and low and behold The screen was covered in green pixels. I tried rebooting twice and it didn't do anything then i let it sleep for about 5 mins opened my mac and the green pixels were gone. Now my mac is still usable and everything works its just sometimes like once in a while ill get a few pixels and closing and opening my mac fixes it. I was curious if this was related to one another or is my mac just starting to die....

I have been getting green pixels/boxes the last while...
I have noticed it after waking the machine from sleep. Not 100% sure if that is the only time it happens. It goes away after a few seconds, typically.
Any idea what is going on?

  • Satellite L - Small green dot on the screen

I have just started up my new computer and on the start up loading screen (the black screen) there appears to be a small dot (possibly green) that is in the upper part of my screen and only noticable when the screen is black.
Will this become more serious and is there anything that i can do to change it or is it something that i need not worry about? I would like to know as soon as possible as if i need to send my computer back i will prefer not to do anything further on it.
    Thank you
    Zoe

    Hi
I think you mean a defective pixel. Is this right?
Such defective pixels are pixels on a LCD not performing as expected. This can happen on all LCDs and there are different pixel fault classes.
LCD display has millions of pixels and if you have only one defective pixel everything is ok. On my Satellite L300 I have also one defective pixel but I see it only if the display is black. You cant return or exchange the notebook with one defective pixel only.
    Here is an interesting document:

  • My nano has a green line down the screen

My ipod nano is not even a year old and suddenly has a green line down the middle of the display.
I plugged it in to my Mac desktop and restored it using iTunes but that didn't help.

    Could be the graphics card.
    Run the Apple Hardware Test

  • My browser seems to crash quite a lot and Ive noticed a lot of you tube videos dont play back correctly and have a green bar across the screen

Ive had the browser a couple of days now and I've noticed it crashes occasionally. Ive also noticed it doesn't play back videos off you-tube correctly and there is a green band going across them as they play. I think this may be an issue with adobe flash player. If i play the video via the popout button, it seems ok.
I don't know if the crashing and playback issues are related.

I disabled acceleration in the flash player by linking to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting and scrolling to the line that specifically outlined my problem - split horizontal screen with green line - clicked on the flash link then right clicked the flash icon and ticked disable acceleration.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled more programs then I probably need to.
We will see how long it lasts* site explains it may not be permanent

  • My ipad mini is bent and has a green tint in the screen ?

i dont know how it bent but can someone help?

If  it's physically bent there's likely not much that we can do. You can try resetting it. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple and let it reboot. might help, but if the circuits inside have gotten crunched then no amount of software resetting can help a physical issue.
You should probably make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out. Unfortunately, since it will likely be deemed accidental damage, unless you have apple care plus it'll be an out of warranty replacement, which for the mini starts at $219.

  • A serious Problem occured on the screen of my 3gs!!!!!!

I bought my 3gs about 1 month ago.At first,I got good experience and learned the meaning of 's'.But then I found a serious problem. It happens ONLY JUST the moment I reopen the screen if I used the screen for a while.About 3 mm near to the edge of the screen it would appear some green lines(a small green square in the screen).I think this might be sometihing like afterimages. The longer I used the screen, the loooooooooonger the green lines will be.The most strange thing is if I don't use the screen for about more than 1 hour,it will turn back to normal. But after about 1 or 2 min it is bad again!
When I am using the screen not open the screen it acts as normal one's,everything is good.
Could any guy tell me the reason of this phenomenon?
    Firmware:iPhone OS 3.1.2

You can try the basics from the manual:
    Restart, reset, restore.
If this doesn't help then you can take it to the Apple Store, or whomever provides service in your country and they will replace is it is defective.

    Hi, Theo1997.
Here is a resource that may provide some troubleshooting steps to help with this issue.  See the section related to the iPhone display.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

If all troubleshooting steps have been processed, I would recommend taking a look at the section labeled Issue not resolved.

  • Satellite A660-O7R 3D - Green spots/smears on the screen

I updated all the drivers and software to enable 3D vision following the instructions on the support pages. Recently I noted when using windows media center, corel winDVD and starcraft 2 that there are lots of green spots scattered around the screen. this is worse in media center, when watching TV or if I'm in the menu there are green/purple smears which are all along the outlines of background graphics.
in the TV mode these move along with the video, they are all along the outlines of people and objects while if I'm in the windows media center menu, then they are found along the edges of those moving graphics. they seem to freeze in place if I disable all the animations. I tried reinstalling the nvidia drivers off the support pages but it made it worse as the green spots started appearing on the wallpaper and in the microsoft office programs as well.
So I ended up doing a system restore to a point a full month back..it all worked fine for an hour after that but the same spots and smears started appearing again. the problem from what I've seen so far appears progressive rather than sudden. all 3 software I've mentioned before are only programs I have which support 3D and also used very often
Please can someone help? I love this machine, really hate to have to return it back to the shop

    Hi
    >So I ended up doing a system restore to a point a full month back..it all worked fine for an hour after that but the same spots and smears started appearing again.
So it look its related more to the software as to the hardware problem but of course it could be related to graphic card as well. So nothing is impossibleyou know
Did you notice this only using the 3D feature?
If yes then the graphic card driver might cause this and as you said the usage of the driver from nvidia page made it worse so possibly its driver issue
But to be honest I didnt find any similar issues in the forum so its really hard to say what could cause this.

  • I have a first generation iPad and the screen went completely green on me and locked up.  I was able to unlock it, but now there's a green haze all over the screen.  Anyone know what the issue could be and how I can get it fixed?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Okay before my ipod power and volume buttons werent working but i never dropped it, then one day i was in a app and my ipod froze so i held the home button down and the screen went a bright green color and isnt showing up in itunes

okay I just recently bought a ipod touch 4thG and im already having issues. recently the power and volume buttons stopped working after i syncd my ipod, i shrugged it off figuring it would come back i could live without it. but today I was on my ipod while it was charging and the screen just froze so i pressed and held the home button (being that's the only button that actually works) then the screen turned this bright yellowish lime green color and its not responding to ANYTHING! my computer isnt even reading it when i plug it up into itunes! so what should i do? can anyone help me? i feel like i just wasted $200...

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
