Green, Orange, Green...

I have a question... My battery is on its 85 cycle, and well, when my battery is charging, every once in while the Light flashes Green, Orange, Green, Orange... and doesn't stop. What does this mean? Do I need a new battery? I have no idea... thanks for your time and help....
Sincerely,
Cubo

I was noticing increasing "time until charged" times on my macbook; it also had the symptom of shutting down with no warning when I was sure that there was at least 33% left on the battery, if not more.
Today, I brought it into the Genius Bar and the Tech reset the SMC and it appeared to work there - but he failed to check to see if it would accept a charge from an A/C power supply. I got home and plugged it in and now the light flashes from green to orange and back to green. Additionally, the time until charged has increased from 55 mins when I first plugged it in to 3hr15mins as I write this. It's still holding steady at an 85% charge the whole time.
Other symptoms:
* If I unplug the A/C adaptor, the fan calms down.
* If I use the small adaptor plug (instead of the long cord), it started to charge normally, but now appears to be counting up again in charge time and the flashing is back. Darn.
* I have two batteries (I bought an extra for long bus rides just a month ago and the other is the replacement I got from the original silent recall). For both batteries, the "time until charged" increases after being connected to A/C power. It looks like it flashes from orange to green for one of them (the elder) and not the other.
My guess is that the A/C adaptor is kaput. I'll take it in tomorrow and update the thread with any progress.

  • Green orange green orange green orange . no sound?

Ok so shuffle appears ok in itunes. Seemingly can add and remove tracks. Turn shuffle on and shows green. Press play and get green orange green orange green orange (always 3 times alternate) then no light and no sound?
Trying to restore as a starter and chapter 5 page 26 of the manual says go to source (devices?) then settings and and i should then be able to see a versions section and be able to hit a restore but all i can see is playing randomly/autofilling and reserving space for disc usage options.
Anyone now what the issue is or how i can restore factory settings as a starter?

This happens when you load the shuffle with Podcasts, which by default are set to "Skip when shuffling" and you also have the shuffle set to Shuffle, therefore the 'pod has no media it can play and it 'freaks out'. Check to see whether this matches your situation. If so, switch from 'shuffle' to 'continuous play' or load music instead of podcasts onto the 'pod.

  • A FIX FOR THE GREEN-ORANGE-GREEN GOBLIN!!!!!!!!!

Is it the software version of ITUNES? Has anyone thought of this? Has anyone else tried uninstalling the latest version of Itunes, 6.0.4.2 and replaced it with an earlier version like 6.0.2.23? I did this and now my "dead" IPOD (that could not be fixed) was suddenly resurrected.

PROBABLY ANOTHER SOLUTION. Same problem, my trackpad and keyboard used to freeze 3 to 4 times every day. I think I found a solution that is working for me. If you take the battery out you will see the connectors for the keyboard and the trackpad. It seems like there is a hardware problem with these connections which do not work properly due to warming conditions coming from the battery or there is some kind of contact between these connections and the battery due to the connections are a little loose. So I placed a plastic film between the battery and these connectors and the problem disappeared for 2 days now. In my case I used one of those films used to protect ipod screed from scratches.

  • Getting the green/orange/green/orange/green/orange flashers

I have just got a new shuffle and when I plug it into my computer I see it and I am able to load music onto it and itunes validates that there is music there. I have FULLY charged it and now when I try to listen to music it gives me the "error no music loaded" set of blinking lights.

what simple thing have I not done or done wrong?

I was having the same Windows 2000 issue after I downloaded the new version and did the 5 R's on their website. That didn't work - so, I called Apple this morning and was told shuffles were not compatible with Windows 2000. However, after explaining that my shuffle had worked until I downloaded that version, and much complaining, Apple agreed to send me a new Ipod. Keep in mind, my Ipod was still under warranty. The new Ipod is supposed to sync with the existing program and as long as I do not upload the new version - all should be just fine and the new Ipod will work....I got my new IPOD in 2 days and it works fine now - just don't say yes to the message about downloading the new version - which you will get once you connect the new IPOD for the first time.

  • Red/Orange/Green indicators for ios 6 maps?

I just updated to ios 6. Every morning I check my maps app to see how the traffic looks for a couple of routes I can take to work. This morning, with ios 6, there was no information. It seems it only shows when its red. This is completely frusting because I know that both these routes can have slow "orange" patches every morning. Will they be adding red/orange/green indicators to ios 6 maps?!

  • HT2513 is there a way to get more than just the 3 colors (green, orange, purple)

Is there a way to add different colors besides the green, orange, and purple if you have more than 3 things going on in a particular day??
    Thanks

The color of an event is dictated by the color of the calendar that it's asigned to.
Click the Calendar button, right click on one of your calendars and choose Get Info.
There you'll find a color drop down menu.  If you don't like any of the default color click, click Other and you'll get access to an infinte number of choices.

  • Whats the real name of the orange, green and black 3.5mm jac

So what is the real name of the three orange, green and black 3.5mm jacks?
Only i cant really search for orange, green and black anywhere other than here

    yourdogsmom wrote:
Yeah but is there not a name for all three cables?
EXAMPLE - red/white/yellow are scart cables.
scart cable doesn't have any color....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scart?red/white/yellow are A/V cableyellow for video, red and white for audio. Those 3.5mm cable Creative uses are simply stereo cable. What Creative do is join 3 pieces of stereo cable together only. Nothing special about them.

  • Macbook Pro late 2011 not powering on. The charger shows a blinking dim orange/green light.

    Hey Angelo_here,
    I'd run through these steps:
If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Note: See Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.

  • AP Problem - 1130AG/1131AG Red-Orange-Green Cycle

    Hi
I've got a Cisco Aironet 1131AG AP and I am getting the Red-Orange-Green cycle of lights on the front. I have a feeling this might be to do with bad flash of some sort.
I have a DB9 -> RJ45 cable and I'm able to connect to the AP using PuTTY. The AP gets an IP by DHCP but the web interface isn't accessible. It is on a basic home network without any forms of servers.
Is there any way I can fix this problem?
    Regards
    Anthony

Does the product number on the access point start with AIR-AP or AIR-LAP? I believe that you have an AIR-LAP that is a lightweight access point meant to be used together with a wireless controller. If this is the case and you want to use it as an autonomous access point without any wireless controller, then you must change software on this access point.
The URL leolahoo provided to you have the procedure on how to change software on your access point. Before you start you need a TFTP server and software for your access point which must be renamed to c1130-k9w7-tar.default

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Green & orange blinkers!

I returned my shuffle to the apple store where I purchased it 13 months ago. That combination or green/orange blinkings lights did not go over too well. I tried resetting and adding music as suggested by the support page. A few tries later, my PC didn't even recognize the shuffle was plugged in.
The nice gentleman at the apple store said that mine was no longer functional and I would have to purchase a new shuffle. He also asked if I had dropped it in water or if I had sweat on it.
I thought these were made for exercise? I've had other mp3 players that continued to function as the rust accumulated on the usb port.
99 bucks for 13 months...I am not pleased with my first trip to the apple world.
I made a b-line to best buy where I purchased a Samsung for the the same price as the shuffle.
I have had mp3 players since they came out. I have replaced them as newer(smaller) models became available or when they rusted beyond hope...the shuffle lasted the the shorted time span.
is there anything I could have done to keep the thing functional?

  • Green-orange-orange-orange

got the dreaded green-orange-orange-orange lights when trying to use the ipod. went through the recommended trouble shooting and got nowhere. downloaded the reset utility from apple. it's been sitting there blinking for 40 minutes now.
    i'm on a g5 mac, latest updates.
the computer really hates restarting with the ipod plugged in.
can play music off the ipod through itunes on the computer. so at least part of it still works.
i'd take it to the apple store, but they're going to be busy dealing with **** off iphone customers for the next week or so.

  • Flashing Orange / Green Light

I have a 512 MB Shuffle that I bought about 2 years ago. I haven't used it for a while, and decided to dust it off. It loads correctly to the computer, but I get the flashing green orange light when I press play. In reading another post, I checked to see if the files are compatible, and they are. I've also got the latest version downloaded. Can someone give me a clue as to what to do or am I screwed?

I have the same problem, but mine doesn't show up as a drive on either my PC or my Mac, not in iTunes either, and it doesn't play music.
I ran the utility, but it didn't change the status of the flashing orange and green lights.
Is there any way to at least get it to the status of just a storage drive?

  • MBP won't turn on/charge with any charger but only after a period of charger flashing orange/green

    Hi all,
I have a MBP bought in September 2012. Left my charger at home so I have been using my old 60W charger which is a little tatty and sometimes gave a 'Battery Not Charging' error message, but after a little fiddling would always work. To stop the inconvenience of fiddling all the time I had left it on charge for probably 24 hours, and it said the battery was charged. Last night took it off charge, left it for 10 minutes and when I went to use it the computer was switched off. When I tried to plug the charger it I just got green/orange flashing, and absolutely no life from the MBP.
Tried a couple of other chargers (none of which are mine) and nothing seems to work. Got my exams coming up and it's majorly stressing me out that I won't have it for weeks. None of the London Apple stores have appointments until next week. Help?!

Brenden thanks for the response, i actually went to an Apple Authorized center, no apple stores being in my vicinity, they solved the issue in less time than it takes saying it as resetting the SMC was not working.
apparently it was a short circuit from a bad power connection, computer is back and running again, nothing to do with OS X update or a bad charger.
    thanks anyways,
