Green/Pixelated Preview Window

Hello,
I am on a Windows 7 machine running Premiere Pro CS5. In my projects, I am using footage from a Canon HG20 camera (AVCHD mts format video). When the timeline is not playing, or when playing and it encounters an effect, I get this problem in the preview window (but not in the exported sequence video):
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Jordan

I have the Intel® G35 Express Chipset. I did actually manage to find older drivers on the Intel website, but every latest driver it had was a version 15.x.x.x.x whereas when I click "Update Driver" in the explorer window of the chip, the version says 8.x.x.x.x. I tried downloading the 15.x but I'm still having the problem in Premiere. Could all of this have to do with running Windows 7 on an originally Vista machine? Still though, the drivers on the website for both 7 and Vista say 15.x and such.
Do you think a reinstall of Premiere would solve it? I haven't tried it yet just because it takes an incredible amount of time.

  • Strange lines in pixel-preview mode

    Hi! I have a problem.
When I'm drawing something with two windows (one is usual other in pixel preview) I have some strange white lines in pixel preview window. How can I solve it?
Hope picture will clarify my question.

There are no white lines in output icon. These lines are not objects, they are just bugs of Illustrator. When I zoom out and immediately zoom in window with pixel preview - white lines dissapear. But when I change something in usual window (moving any object or rotate) these lines appear again (only in pixel-preview window)!

  • In CC214 PS Why has adobe removed the "print Size Button"  And why have they made the Brush preview window so small you can't see the effects to accurately adjust them?

In CC214 PS Why has adobe removed the "print Size Button"  And why have they made the Brush preview window so small you can't see the effects to accurately adjust them?
These two things need to be remedied in their upgrades because It's become such a bother I've had to revert to older versions of PS.

Yea, and it's a pain to get to.  What was the rational for removing the print size button?   With the magnifying glass tool selected in older versions of Photoshop you would get a button that says "print size" right next to Actual pixels, Fit Screen, Fill Screen. Now I have to go out of my way and dig for it if I want to see the print size.  Of all the buttons you could have taken away, why not fill screen?  I never use that.
Besides the point I just downloaded the Oct Upgrade for PS and surprise! Nothing has changed and these are two big black eyes on newer versions of Photoshop.   The Brush preview window is  unchanged in CC but in CC2014 it's basically worthless.  If you apply a texture to a brush you can't properly see the scale of the texture, the spacing, scatter, etc...

  • When i open my computer I get the white screen with apple symbol and there are vertical lines all over the screen with green pixels and after a few minutes the screen gets grey and I get message to restart my computer what happens

3 years ago I bought an IMac Desktop that I am using for a lot of things but the most important for dvd montage in Imovies and Idvd.
Now today when I opened my computer I get as usual the white screen with the Apple symbol but there were all over the screen vertical lines with green pixels and after a while the screen gets grey and I get message to restart my computer using the power button or the restart button and when I do so each time the same is happening somebody can tell me what is happening and what caused this. This computer is my work and now I have no income anymore.
On the Apple support site they are asking to enter the serial number and when I do so I get message it is wrong but it is the only one I have and I buy this computer in Cairo Egypt. I am living in Hurghada in Egypt for the moment. When I call the technical support of the shop where I buy it they are telling me that it is the hard disk or ram and that I probably lost everything on it and they are asking a big amount to repair.
Can somebody advise me on this matter. Thanks in advance

You can find the serial number either in About this Mc in the Menu bar under the , or it should be on a sticker under the foot of the machine.
If you have the install discs, try booting from them, holding down the c key and then using Disk Utility to check the drive.
You can also boot into Safe mode
To start up into Safe Mode (to "Safe Boot"), do this:
       1. Be sure the computer is shut down.
       2. Press the power button.
       3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key.
Tip: The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone but not before.
       4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple and progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.3.9, you will see "Safe Boot" on the Mac OS X startup screen.
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login window, which appears even if you normally log in automatically.
    Please post back with results,
To leave Safe Mode in any version of Mac OS X, restart the computer normally, without holding any keys during startup.

  • Live Composition Preview Window...Vector graphics are blurred

Live Composition Preview Window...Vector graphics are blurred even though I have the 'Continuously Rasterize' button selected. I’m using the latest After Effects and Illustrator. Other compositions within the same ae project are all 100%, then when I started another new composition, the graphics are blurred, making it incredibly difficult to work out what I’m animating as I need to zoom in and it blurs a lot. It is not a RAM issue with the MAC. Can anyone help? I was going great creating motion graphics, then all of a sudden his happens and I’ve tried everything.  Thanks.

I just presumed that once the 'Continuously Rasterize' button was selected, this would omit any fuzziness regardles of zoom percentage. its a pity it does not in my opinion.
Again, you're misunderstanding what the comp window is doing. It is showing EXACT pixel representation of what is going to be output to the rendered video. Therefore it would be quite wrong of it to show anything at a higher resolution than the final output. As a video pro, I need to know what is going to be output. If I zoom in and it's showing a crisp vector graphic, that's not useful in the least.
If, for some reason, you need to work with something zoomed in, make a composition with a higher resolution and work in that. Then embed it in your final comp.

  • What's up with this Green Pixel?

I am confused here... I just noticed a bright green pixel that appears to be stuck but only under certain circumstances...
For example, it doesn't appear in Pixel Check (under any of the tests) nor does it appear in a screensaver that produces black in that area... HOWEVER, it does appear in the sample screen in Sys Pref for that screen saver...
    What's up with that?

Ok, this is just WEIRD! I'm looking at it in DVD player and I can see it clear as day...
But then I go full screen and I am viewing the same area and it's either not there or is considerably less bright...
    Is this software or something?

Since Pixel Check doesn't show it as "stuck" or dead, it must be some sort of software issue, right?
I mean, it seems to respond properly to that program telling each sub-pixel to turn on and off...
Also, it appears in a DVD window under most circumstances (not just black) but seems to dim as I increase the size of the window...
    Strange...

  • Smart Sharpen and Reduce Noise preview windows are blank

    Hello,
I am using Photoshop CS5 64 bit with WIndows 7
Whenever I try to use the Smart Sharpen or Reduce Noise image menu items, the preview window for both
    these applications are always blank.
My images are mostly 16 bit with some 8 bit but I always get the same blank preview window
    Any help would be appreciated

Always check your LAYERS panel to ensure you've activated the image layer on which the pixels reside, and not an adjustment layer.  Also make sure you've clicked on the image if there's a layer mask present, so the filter won't be inadvertntly working on the mask.
Assuming you're not on the wrong layer, have you checked to see whether new drivers are available from the web site of the maker of your video card?  Many, many display problems are resolved by updating display drivers.

  • Green pixel lines after installing 10.4.6

I started getting green pixel lines on my screen following installation. They appear when windows open and remain after windows are closed. They also appear around the desktop icons, but mostly on the left side and bottom of the icon.
Any thoughts on how to eliminate this problem?
I have run permissions repair several times.

    jcaz,
Find the com.apple.finder.plist, and the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file in your ~Library/Preferences Folder. Drag these plist files to your Desktop, log out/in or restart.
If unsuccessful, can you duplicate this behavior if you create a new user?
Reinstalling the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo for PPC is an option if the behavior is observed in the new user account.

  • Frozen video/preview window

    hi there!
running iMovie 8.0.6 on my brand new macbook pro. have had great success with iMovie thus far until last night when i cut a 1hr 5min long video down to 8 minutes. all was well, but this morning when i come back to edit some more and add music, titles etc, the project won't play. when i click play on the project, either in full screen or regular screen mode, the audio starts playing and the little yellow line starts moving through the clips but the image in the preview window and in full screen is simply frozen on the very first clip in the movie. any thoughts why i can't see the actual video but can only hear it??
    all help is greatly appreciated!
    thanks!

    hi there,
sorry for the delayed response. i actually had to call apple and unfortunately the fix wasn't that great. the project file was somehow corrupted - when i removed it from the iMovie program per their suggestion, the program and rest of the projects in it started working fine. their thought process was that sometimes when you're working in iMovie for too long without shutting it down/quitting, iMovie does not have the time to process the project files correctly, which is what could've messed up my project file. so i essentially needed to quit iMovie every once in a while to give it time to process the project. whether this is true or not i don't know, but it's the only answer they could give me. i actually had to remove the project and start all over! before removing the project though, i started a new one - you know how the event leaves a little orange or green line in the parts that have already been used and transferred into a project? i just followed those orange/green guidelines to get the clips i had previously chosen for the messed up project and put them into a new project. i then deleted the old messed up project that wouldn't play and everything has worked fine ever since. hope this helps a little!

  • Green screen upon startup and green pixels afterwards

Last night I switched from the dining room table to the bedroom. When I turned on my laptop in the bedroom (about 10 minutes after moving) it started up by flashing with a black then green screen and would not load. I was able to finally get it to load but when it first starts up it is a green screen that looks like it has diagonal wavy lines with the verbiage in the lower left for pressing esc for boot setup. Once it loads it has green pixels everywhere and when I open control panel where the white is normally, there is purple color. I did notice that a Windows update happened. I have tried to do a system restore but it doesnt get ride of it. I do have pictures but not sure how to post them from my phone.

  • Link AE preview window to custom flashplayer or videoplayer?

Have never heard or seen that this is possible, however just came up with a new script idea and was just curious if it will work.
So what I wonder is whether it is possible to link the AE viewer/timeline to a custom flash player or video player?
Something like: What is shown in the AE preview window, also appears in the custom video player.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
    Merry Christmas!

  • How To Prevent My Laptop's Screen From Succumbing To Evil Green Pixels?

Hello, I know this seems to be a common problem on the forums but... A while ago my display started showing evil bright green pixels that created a distracting and unsightly mess. It was under apple care. I waited to see if an update would fix it, and before my apple care ran out I took it in and had it fixed. Could it be that I could know what they saw wrong with it? Because I got the computer back, fixed, and they didn't tell me what had been the problem. Is this available on the Internet? Two weeks later I started getting the EXACT same problem. Even though apple care repairs are under warranty the apple genius I talked to told me they would charge to fix it, fix it again, because I had dinged the top of the laptop. This really peeved me. The good news is that it's not always like this, and most of the time now the display is fine. The bad news is that I've been getting the problem more and more frequently, which is exactly what happened last time until the evil green pixels never went away. So the problem flickers, but it's happening more often...
My question is does anybody know anything I could do to prevent this from occurring? Of note is that last time this happened it didn't cure it completely but it helped to diminish my screen resolution. The most recent time the green pixels came back though and it didn't matter the resolution. Does anybody know if this is a hardware or a software problem? Could the fact that it comes and goes, and eventually never leaves, mean that I am causing it to happen without knowing it? Does anybody know if this is a software or a hardware issue? I am going to run the apple hardware test and soon as I can, although I think last time I did that it was fine but I will double-check. I don't want to pay apple to fix it if it will break again. I am prepared to face the harsh reality of a world with a distorted but functional laptop screen. Thanks for reading!

Oh, one of my loveliest topics. ;)
The best way to clean a lcd screen is to take a lcd cleaning spray and a cloth. But thats not all, the secret is to take a microfiber cloth to clean the screen up.
Perform the cleanup in these steps:
    1. Spray the Display Cleaner on the whole screen. Be generous when spraying the cleaner on it.
    2. Dont use the microfiber cloth for the first cleanup, thats the step where you remove the big dirt. Use a ordinary cloth.
    3. Ok, rubb the screen dry, it doesnt matter if some stripes are left, thats OK.
    4. Now, spray the cleaner again on the whole screen, but not much, it should only cover the surface of the screen.
    5. Take microfiber cloth and clean the screen how you would clean a window. E.g. from top to down but dont stay at one point, just go top down.
    6. I know its not perfectly (good if yes ;) ) but I tried it many times and everyone has its own technique.
Good luck and a clean display :)
