Green screen on facetime

So i try to facetime on my macbook pro with my friend n I can't see my friend. The screen just turns all green. Why and how can I fix this. ?!

Hi there confused_93!
I have a couple of resources that can help you troubleshoot this issue. First, I would recommend that you attempt to reset your NVRAM, using the information from the following article:
About NVRAM and PRAM
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
If the issue is still unresolved, you will want to continue troubleshooting using the following article fro guidance:

  • Green screen using FaceTime or viewing videos through utube on ipad2, any ideas how to fix this problem?

Just got this ipad2 for Christmas and was able to FaceTime and view videos fine.  Now am getting a green screen with audio in FaceTime and when watching videos through utube.

    Did you find the solution?

  • Pantalla verde en facetime (green screen in FaceTime)

llamo por facetime y si logra conectarse pero pasan unos minutos y empieza a parpadear y se pone verde la pantalla, que hago?
I can call someone perfectly but after some minutes the screen is all green, what can I do?

She could also try a google search for "voip test" and try some of the online test programs.  The better ones of these do not just test your internet connection speed, but check out latency, dropped packet rate and stutter and a number of other parameters that tell you if you connection is sufficiently fast AND of sufficiently good quality for voice and video communication over internet (for example, often people have sufficient download speed but they find out that their ISP has capped their upload speed at something far to low for any kind of VOIP communications).
So, just in case it has nothing to do with her router, but she just has crummy internet service or connection (in which case she could call her ISP and ask them about options to improve her connection).

  • Facetime between both my sons macpros and my iPad results in green screen at their end. Solution?

My sons are both at University and we have been using their MacBook pros and my IPad to communicate, using facetime.
Recently, every time we connect, they get a green screen shortly after connecting - I can see them on my iPad, but they get a green screen.
Think this has been reported already, but I cannot see a clear solution.

Looks like I had similar problem today.  I was working on my MacBook on pages and then about an hour later I made some changes on my iPad.  This morning it looks like I have to resolve a conflict of having two documents and I have to choose one.

  • Facetime 'green screen'

I recently posted this in reply to someone elses issue, but thought I would have a go at posting as a separate issue too...
I (& my brother) have the same issue when facetiming my sister. She's got an iphone 4s (updated to the current iOS) & my brother & I have iphone 4. The call connects, we see her for a couple of seconds, then it goes all blocky, green screens & drops the call. My brother has also tried on his ipad & gets the same issue, only it reboots the ipad when the call drops (but it doesn't seem to do that with our phones).
Have had a quick look online but haven't really found anything.... only a video that someone posted (which shows what I've described above!)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyFWrmTmJII
If anyone has any ideas.... I'd be greatful (& so would others I'm guessing)
    Cheers
(also, videos & pictures outside of facetime are fine!)

  • FaceTime on Lion green screen

Hi, recently installed Lion operating system with facetime. Facetime works for about 30 seconds between my MacBook Pro and my wifes iphone. Then the screen freezes and start flashing in green eventually after about another 30 secs facetime screen goes completely green. I can still be seen on the the iphone and i can still talk just no picture on the MacBook. any suggestions?
    Cheers Gareth

My facetime screen started doing the same thing about 5 months ago when I upgraded to Lion. I makes the facetime connection... the screen begins to flicker green... and then goes completely green within a minute. Audio is totally fine. The green screen only occurs on my screen not the person I am facetiming. It happens on my 2008 macbook pro and 2011 macbook air.
Hey Gareth, if you recently purchased and installed lion you can call apple support within 90 days, I think. It is free. If someone finds a solution to this annoying problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

  • Screen turn green halfway during facetime.

My screen turns green halfway during facetime. I restarted facetime and same problem occurs again, the green light of the webcam is on, and my friends could see me, but i can only see a green page. Anyone have this problem?

mminyi wrote: ... my friends could see me, but i can only see a green page...
If the problem is only with one FT contact, I would think that your FT is working correctly.  The problem is likely at your friends end.  He should troubleshoot his FT: FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime
If the problem is the same on your Mac with more than one different contact you try to video, then check your internet speed and connection.

  • Green screen when using camera

Twice now when attempting to use the camera all I get is a bright green screen instead of images. I've had to power cycle the phone and the camera starts operating OK. Has anyone had a similar issue? Thanks
Message was edited by: kvslab. I found the cause of the problem was the Amazon app. Whenever I was using their app, then went to camera I would get the green screen and have to reboot. I removed their app and problem is gone. The Amazon app does make use of the camera for scan purposes.

    • If none of Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
suggestions help you, continue with the following.
    • Use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions and then
download and apply the latest Combo Update, for ML Mac OS,
the current one is at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1581
    • Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart
       that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of the camera.  For hardware help, contact an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.
    • If you still have trouble and want to try one more thing on your own before having your Mac serviced, uninstall all third-party apps that can use a camera.  Then reinstall ML OS X and test your cam one more time BEFORE adding back any non-Apple apps.  If the problem remains, see your AASP.
(Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD."  Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)

  • How do i use my own image with keying (or green screen)

how do i use my own image witrh keying (or green screen)

Put your sky clip on a layer below the clip you want to key. One or the other will be a connected clip. Apply  the Keying filter to foreground clip (the one with the green screen). The green will be seen as transparent and the sky will show through as the BG. Adjust as necessary in the Inspector.
    Good luck.

  • Please answer once and for all the boot green screen

I have searched everywhere for an answer since my issue.
    Relevant info:
    iPhone 3GS.
    iTunes version 10.7.0.21 (2012-09-12).
Doesn't matter what system I have since this is related to an iPhone device.
Fully charged battery before proceeding with the update.
Updated the iOS 5.1.1 of the iPhone to iOS 6.0 through required update recommendation of iTunes.
Never been abused, jailbroken, serviced or dropped. (never had issues until the update)
Once completed the updated process of iTunes and iPhone was done with the internal installation, the iPhone rebooted with a green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver". It loaded up to the iPhone Configure screen still with green color screen/hue.
I pressed on the power button for 5 seconds and slide "slide to power off" and the iPhone turned off. I waited about 15 seconds and pressed on the power button to turn the iPhone back on, hoping no more green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver" but returned to the original green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver".
    Failed!
It still showed green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver" and booted to the iPhone Configure screen still with green color screen/hue.
Remedies tried after searching the internet:
    Hard Restart/Reset.
DFU Mode. (even tried a restore process with iTunes again *so much time wasted to obtain the iOS download again*
Recovery Mode (even tried a restore process with iTunes again *so much time wasted to obtain the iOS download again*
Recovery from Backup is denied because previous version was iOS 5.1.1 and iTunes refuses the process so (even tried a restore process with iTunes again *so much time wasted to obtain the iOS download again*
Left the iPhone at the Configure screen until battery drained and then plugged it back into the USB port of system until it charged long enough for the iPhone to boot yet again green screen/hue and the apple logo was still original color "silver". It booted to the iPhone Configure screen which is still the green screen/hue and I left it charging until battery icon top right showed full.
Now, can someone give a straight answer while staying on this topic about this issue, please?
*I can understand if the apple logo was green then it could be a screen issue but it is not the case.
All help is greatly appreciated even if you took the time to read all of this but did not answer.
    Thank you!

    At first I had troubles similar to what you describe;
initially, part of the problem was that my hosting company had not
yet upgraded to CF 7.02. One other thing I had to correct: when you
upload to your server, upload the entire ‘bin’ (or
whatever your output folder is) minus the debug SWF.

  • HDCam to DVCPro HD Green screen---best way to go?

Green screen shoot on HDCam 29.97p. No have HDCam ability. Should I:
-send out for dub to DVCPro HD and then either
-capture by firewire from 1200A Panny deck
    or
-from AJA card by HD SDI?
    Will either give acceptable results?
Or gonna have to bite the bullet and send tape and a hard drive
somewhere and have HDCam captured to get acceptable
    stuff to composite with?
    Thanks in advance.
    p2

If you dub it to DVCPROHD, that's where the "damage" is done... so won't make any difference capturing thru HD SDI or FireWire quality wise... But stay at 1080... don't go down to 720... as long as that machine of yours plays back 1080... better look into that for sure.
It should still be OK though as far as the green screening ability because it's still in a 4:2:2 colorspace.
That said, If you could capture from the HDCAM via SDI and go to ProRes... you'd be better off in theory.

  • Green screen, downlading files and updating programs often stuck at 99%.

Okey so I have got this problem for a 20 days, since I build my own computer. Some videos on youtube and other video stream sites bug out in the way that the video just goes green, and starts fast forwarding. Then I think streams on twitch.tv for example, I cant watch a stream for longer than 20 second and the video gets frozen and the stream needs to be refreshed. And updating games, downloading files often gets stuck at very end of the progress, and it wont succesfully download or update. Im not sure is it about Flash Player/Shockwave Player but if there doesnt come example green screen it may show something like you are missing add-on Flashplayer but when i refresh the page it may run the video fine for some time.
The problem rarely happens at youtube but heres one where it happened Crs Piglet (Vayne) first ever NA Penta - YouTube
Heres video where the video didnt start at all and aswell when it did the screen gone green again and fast forward. (contains adds) http://www.thevideo.me/kmqcwhblzheh
Heres screenshots and one bad quality phone photo album of these problems, green screens, videos stuck, downloading stuck and updating stuck 99-100%. Imgur
    Heres my computer specs:
My operating system is:          Microsoft Windows:  8.1 Pro, 64-bit
    Processor:                             Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz
Graphic card:                         Nvidia GeForce GTX 760     Driver updated to: Geforce Game Ready Driver 347.52.
    Memory (ram):                       8GB
    Motherboard:                         MAXIMUS VII RANGER
Dont know what else info I could put on about my computer really... I have tried to find answer, like disabling hardware acceleration, deleting flashplayer memory file, safe modes and all kind of tips I as able to find from internet.
And I use mozilla firefox (36.0), but the problems happens aswell in Internet Explorer. I have updated Flash Player (16,0,0,305), my drivers (Geforce Game Ready Driver 347.52), all windows updates, java(1.8.0?), but still cant find the answer why watching videos/streams work well.
Im sorry if I missed some info but ask if theres something.

The green screen means that hardware decoding has failed.  It's probably a subtle, intermittent driver bug.
You can disable hardware acceleration in Flash to avoid this while you wait for updated drivers to become available:

  • Green Screen Problems, Please Help!

I'm experiencing problems with the greenscreen effects of iMovie 09. I really need help. What happens is when I drag the clip ontop of the other clip, I click green screen. Then play the clip and see just a few reen dots, not the green screen footage. If you need a link to the footage its http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAFMRKsoX5E. Please help, as this is one of the main reasons I bought a Mac.

the material you're linking to is in a .flv container (and downloading it violates the ToU of YouTube, just to mention that )
after re-wrapping it into a suitable format, works like charme:
… aside missing drop shadows, wrong perspective, missing highlights,
and somehow the dino is a lil' bit 'opaque'
how or into what did you convert the t-rex.flv?

  • Why do I get a green screen on all of my videos in Mozilla (YouTube, Facebook, etc.)

I have read the forums regarding this issue on Internet Explorer, but I do not know how to fix the issue on Firefox, which is my preferred browser.  All videos have audio but there is no video, just a green screen.  :-(  Also, is there a different fix for IE other than disabling hardware acceleration?  The videos are so blurry with that fix.  Thanks for the help!

  • Can I use two different greens for green screening and keep one without it being keyed out?

I am using a green screen which is your standard light green fabric.
I am also wearing a bottle green cape.
I want to key out the standard green which is no problem. However it also takes out the bottle green on my cape.
Is there a way on either Premiere Pro or After Effects to ensure the bottle green stays as it is without being automatically keyed out?
    Many thanks.

There's your answer, most likely.  I can think of a few methods you might try, but they're going to be labor intensive, and likely involve some roto.
Most keyers have a threshold setting that determines what colors stay and which ones go.  You could keep tweaking that setting in very small increments, and if you get lucky, it might discriminate between two green values.
You might be able to precomp in Ae and use the Change Color plug to shift one of them to a more contrasty green or different hue altogether and create a luma matte.
But, you failed green screen 101, and you gotta' go to detention.
robodog, you're being a bit harsh on Jimmy Simon.  He said "Might be worth a reshoot...."  I can't disagree.  Depending on arahman's situation, a reshoot might be easier and quicker.  You never know.
